OFMD FAVE GAME
Thank you for the tag @not-nervous-jester, I'm stuck on both of the things I wanted to write this afternoon so I guess I'll do this instead?
Fave Ed gif:
Tumblr media
Please save this man. (Also I love this outfit so much.)
Fave Stede gif:
Tumblr media
GIF by thyla
Actually, same one as yours Jams; there's a reason this is my icon now, this scene and his expression means literally everything to me, evokes something very personal and special. (I want to see him in S2 with this face but also wearing something ridiculously fancy)
Fave S2 Headcanon: here's the thing. I am fully prepared to be completely surprised by what happens in the actual show. I love the speculation, and yes, I am writing an entire post-S1 fic, but I don't think anything in it is likely to actually happen in the show??? (I'm just running down some ideas that wouldn't let me go.) So really the only thing left is LUCIUS LIVES, because I really do believe that killing his character fundamentally changes the nature of the show in a way that I don't think they'd do.
Fave Blackbonnet song: I was building what ended up being my fic playlist, and Tidal suggested Thank You by Led Zeppelin, and honestly it's perfect.
Fave OFMD Fic Trope: I should make a list as some point lol, but goddamn I love a good Ed POV canon pining fic, they're always so wild and funny and dramatic.
Ed's hair or Stede's hair: so, Ed's hair: the day that I realized that the girl I was madly in love with in college and never did quite get together with (despite being embedded in a sort-of-polycule that needed wholeass diagrams to explain to my therapist at the time) had uhhhhh very much hair like Ed's, as did my high school/college boyfriend (who was also part of aforementioned diagram) and wow it's true there is something about that, huh? (as it happens, I could almost certainly end up with hair like Stede's given the right stylist. it looks fantastic on him and would look like a goddamn grandma on me.)
Longest you've gone between rewatches: I think the last month I've mostly been watching one episode on repeat every few days, which episode depending on which chapter of Hungry for love, waiting to drown I've been working on, and I've been kind of itching to do a full rewatch, actually. (am I going to do it during Sad Week specifically for the catharsis? maaaaaaaaybe?)
Hiding in the ship Lucius vs. Ghost Lucius: por que no los dos? (also I'm always entertained by Lucius pretending to be a ghost while hiding in the ship)
Fave Revenge Crew Member: they're all so fucking good, but lately I've been kind of obsessed with Frenchie.

The Maze Trials: A Gally Fanfiction
Pairing: Gally x Emi(OC)
Summary: Emi, first girl the Glade has seen. Tougher than she looks and more than ready to prove it. Since day one her and Gally have been at each other's throats. Fighting constantly and not just with their words.
(Gally fanfiction which will include smut. It also has an actual story line. Think of it as an AU to the original Maze Runner. It'll mostly follow the main story line with some changes. Mostly focusing on Emi and Gally and their relationship.)
Chapter Twenty-Five
Tumblr media
I sat outside a few feet from the council hall. I was close enough to hear the boys shouting at certain moments. I was too aggravated and hurt to really care. As I sat there picking at the grass I was startled almost out of my skin when the box's alarm rang out. I jumped to my feet instantly running towards it. I could hear the rest of the gladers running out of the council hall towards the box. We just got a greenie three days ago. The box shouldn't be coming back up yet. A fearful feeling fell on me as I stopped in front of the box. I stared at it as I waited for one of the boys to open it.
Gally and Newt were the first two there. They threw the box open and Newt jumped inside. I could tell from where I stood what was below us. I didn't know if I should feel relieved or terrified.
"Newt, what do you see?" One of the boys asked the blonde.
"It's a girl" Newt said in a mixture of surprise and confusion.
Thomas made his way threw the boys to stand next to me. We were both staring down at the unconscious girl. I knew her. She was the girl I had spoken to in one of my dreams.
"What's in her hand?" Gally asked Newt.
Newt slowly grabbed what looked like a rolled up piece of paper. He unfolded it to see what it was.
"She's the last one ever." Newt read aloud then looked up to us.
The sudden panic took me over. The last one?
"What the hell does that mean?" Newt questioned aloud.
She suddenly took in a deep breath as she woke up. All of us jumped at the sudden action. My heart was thumping wildly against my chest. She seemed to be looking straight at the greenie standing next to me.
"Thomas" she panted before her eyes rolled back and she fell unconscious once more.
We all turned to look at Thomas. He seemed to tense at the sudden eyes on him.
"Still think I'm overreacting?" Gally asks out loud as he crosses his arms over his chest.
I decided to help Clint and Jeff get the girl to their hut. I told them to let me know when she wakes up. I figured it would be better for her to see there is another girl with her instead of being surrounded by boys. I went to find Gally after that. I felt we needed to have a chat. He was outside standing with a few others. His brows furrowed like he was complaining about something which he probably was.
"Gally, we need to talk." I said as soon as I reached him.
"No" He said sternly then tried to turn away from me.
I grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
"That wasn't a request Captain." I spat using the nickname the other gladers used for him.
He stared down at me for a moment before grabbing my arm and pulling me away from the other gladers. Once he felt we were far enough away he stopped and let go of my arm.
"What's your problem?" I asked him harshly.
"What's my problem? Are you serious? You of all people know exactly how I felt about Thomas. How much I didn't trust him. You know how much I live by the rules of the Glade because they are rules for a reason! You still decided to go into the maze with them breaking a major rule then tell me you're on Thomas' side. Screw me right? Who cares what Gally thinks right?" He was shouting letting all his anger out.
"You know I don't want to stay here Gally. If Thomas can find a way out I will follow him. Things are changing. We could actually have a chance here. Does that really mean nothing to you?" I asked keeping myself as calm as I could.
"It means nothing to me. The Glade is my home. I thought you were going to share that home with me. Obviously I was wrong. What ever this was is no longer happening. Go ahead and follow Thomas. It's clear you've already made your choice." Gally said as he went to walk past me.
I grabbed his hand trying to keep him close. He pulled his hand away then glanced back at me with a look full of hatred but I could see the tears in his eyes that he was making sure wouldn't spill over.
"Gally please understand" I whispered letting my own tears fall freely.
He just scoffed then walked away. Just like that I lost everything. Gally had been the only thing I had the whole time I was here. I had him to hold onto and keep me sane and now that was over.
The sudden shouts of a terrified girl brought me back to reality as I saw the new girl running away from Clint and Jeff. She saw the other boys surrounding her and screamed again as she elbowed her way threw them. She darted for the look out then climbed up quickly. I saw one of the boys moving to climb up after her. I grabbed his shirt and pulled him back down.
"No! You'll only make it worse." I told him sternly.
She started throwing things down at the boys below her yelling at them to go away. The gladers ran to get shields to cover their heads.
"Hey! Throw one more of those things and I'm- Ow!" Gally held his hand against his head where she had just hit him.
Thomas and Minho were there a few minutes later. Thomas running under the piece of wood Newt was holding.
"I don't think she likes us very much." Newt joked with a smirk.
"Listen! We just want to talk!" Thomas shouted up at her.
She started to throw more at a lot faster pace.
"Take cover y'all!" Fry pan shouted.
"Hey! Hey! Woah! It's Thomas!" He shouted again.
The items instantly stopped. She slowly peaked her head over the edge of the wood. Thomas waved at her.
"I'm gonna come up okay?" He asked her.
She didn't answer she just moved backwards so we couldn't see her any longer.
"Ok" Thomas whispered as he moved towards the lookout.
Gally moved to follow him but Thomas quickly turned around to face him.
"Alone" he said sternly.
Gally looked at him like he was crazy but didn't try anything else. I stopped Thomas from climbing by blocking his path.
"I'm going up with you. She might feel more comfortable with another girl." I stated simply.
Thomas nodded then I moved to let him climb up first. I followed closely behind him until we were all the way at the top. Thomas opened the hatch then stopped moving.
"Woah, woah, woah. Ok, easy alright?" He said slowly.
He climbed up allowing me to pop up to see the girl holding one of our machetes.
"Where am I? What is this place? Why can't I remember anything?" She asked Thomas.
Before he could answer she had noticed me climbing up and closing the hatch.
"This is all normal. We've all been threw this. Okay? You're name that will come back to you in a few days." Thomas tried to explain.
"Teresa" she said quietly.
"What'd you say?" He asked her.
"My name. Teresa." She repeated.
Thomas and I shared a look. It's weird for someone to remember their name that quickly.
"Teresa, I'm Thomas." He introduced.
Teresa looked to me.
"I'm Emi" I told her.
I slowly leaned forward until I could gently wrap my hand around hers and pull the machete away from her. I sat it down out of the way.
"But you already knew my nae didn't you?" Thomas asked her.
"They said I kept saying your name in my sleep." She stated.
"Who are you?" She asked give him a sideways look.
"I don't know. I can't remember. None of us here can remember anything." He told her.
"We all woke up here just like you." I stated calmly.
Thomas and I spent a few more minutes talking to Teresa to make sure she was calm. Before we went back down to the Glade she pulled two items out of her pocket. She handed them to Thomas.
"These were in my pocket when I woke up." She said quietly.
I looked at one as Thomas looked over the other. The same letters were on this just as they were on our supplies and the metal thing Minho pulled out of the griever.
W.C.K.D.
"W.C.K.D. is good" Thomas mumbled to himself as he looked at the item.
"I heard the same thing. A woman saying W.C.K.D. is good." Teresa said.
I looked the item in my hand over again thinking of the words they both just said. Then I realized it was a syringe. It's medicine.
"Thomas, this is some kind of medicine. Alby." I whispered like it was a secret.
It seemed to snap into place in his head as well. We both hurried down the look out with Teresa right behind us. We ran for the Med-Jack's hut where Alby was. Newt and Gally had seen us running and decided to follow behind us.
There was a small amount of arguing before Thomas could talk Clint into giving it to Alby. We didn't have anything to loose at this point. We all waited hoping for something good to happen. In that time Minho and Thomas decided they needed to look something over before going back into the maze.
I was left in the hut with Clint, Teresa, and Gally. The keeper of the builders seemed to be playing guard like Teresa and I were criminals.
"What's his problem?" She whispered to me.
"It's a long story." I whispered back.

Love square fluff week - Reveal
AO3
Emma jumped as she heard a crash coming from downstairs followed by what sounded like her mom giggling. She looked over to the bed on her right where her older sister, Emily, was still sleeping.
She carefully stepped out of bed and slowly walked to the slightly ajar door, the light from downstairs seeping in.
She heard her mom giggling again and a second voice said something in reply. Quietly opening the door enough for her to get by, she strained to hear more.
"You're ridiculous, you know that?" Her mom said.
"Ridiculously in love with you." The second choice replied. It almost sounded like daddy but she wasn't sure. He sounded different. She made her way to the top of the stairs and went down a few of them before crouching and peeking through the crack to see her mom and Cat Noir in their kitchen.
She gasped, quickly covering her mouth.
"Silly Kitty." Her mom wrapped her arms around the superhero and leaned in to kiss him. A small yelp escaped Emma's mouth and she hurried back to her room, running to her sister.
"Emy!" She whispered, shaking her sister. "Emy, wake up!"
Her sister lazily rolled over, opening one eye."What?" She mumbled.
"I saw mommy kissing Cat Noir!" Emma said anxiously.
Her sister groaned and flipped over. "You idiot. Cat Noir is just dad. Go to bed."
Wait, what?
"Emma?" Her mom whispered from outside the door. Shoot, busted. She rushed into her bed, throwing the covers on top of her, adding some snoring sounds for authenticity.
"Emma, I know you're awake. It's alright sweety." She could hear her mom coming into the room.
She snored louder.
"Emma, we just want to talk." That was definitely daddy. She opened one eye to see her two parents smiling at her.
"Was my little monkey out of bed?" Her dad ruffled her black hair.
"No." She immediately denied, looking away and shifting in her bed.
"So you didn't see anything?" Her mom asked.
"No." She covered her face with the blanket.
"Oh for crying out loud. Emma saw you two kissing. You really should be more careful with your 'secret identity' dad." Emily tossed over in bed again.
"Wait, you knew?" Their dad asked.
Emily groaned.
"Well, we knew we couldn't hide it forever." Their mother shrugged.
"But she's only eight!" Their dad whispered.
"Listen, Emma, it's very important that no one outside our family knows. Ok?" Her mom said.
She nodded.
"That's my girl." Her mom stroked her hair.
"Oh sure, keep your identity in the hands of a six-year-old." A floating black creature appeared out of nowhere.
Emma screamed, jumping into mommy's arms.
"Plagg!"
"What? They all know now. That means I don't need to hide anymore."
"It's ok sweety. Plagg's a- a friend. He's also a secret though."
Emily sighed. "Trying to sleep here!"
"Does nothing phase her?" Dad asked.
"I met Plagg a week ago in the kitchen."
Her dad glared at the black floating creature they kept calling Plagg.
"Really? Funny, he didn't mention that."
"Tikki told him not to."
Emma felt her mom go still. "W-what?"
"Looks like there's more than one cat out of the bag." Her dad laughed, earning himself a glare from mommy.
"Ok, we'll talk more about this tomorrow. Are you ok sweetie?" She looked back at her.
She nodded again. Was she in trouble or not?
"Ok, get some sleep."
"That's what I've been trying to do!"
"Emily." Her dad said sternly.
"Well it's true," Emy mumbled under her breath.
Her parents left, closing the door behind them.
"Do you realize it took them less time to figure it out than it did us?" She overheard her dad say as they walked away.
"Is daddy really Cat Noir?" She whispered to Emy who sighed in reply.
"Yeah. Best not to think about it."
"But- but Cat Noir is dating Ladybug!" That's what the woman in the TV said. "Does mommy know?"
Emy sighed again. "Mommy is Ladybug."
She gasped.
"I know. To think my favorite superheroes were actually just our dorky parents."
Mommy and daddy weren't dorky but Emy often said so. They were superheroes! She couldn’t wait to tell Kathy and Willow and-
"But remember, it's a secret."
Oh right.
"I'll let Tikki explain it to you tomorrow. Go to bed ok?"
"Ok, goodnight Emy!"
Her sister chuckled. "Goodnight Em."

(I'll add her with her uniform later)~~~ Name: Emi Himari or Emi Age: 15 (physically) 25 (mentally and years) Quirk: Shadows (can use her shadows to sent out attacks, teleport from her shadow to other shadowy places, make any weapon good for one hit then disappears. That's the at the very beginning when she first joins UA. Later learns to give her shadow weapons more of a physical form and they don't disappear after one use, is able to appear from almost any place you can thing of that has shadows... And sent out attack like spikes. Anything shadow related.) Family: Emi Asami (mother and her quirk anti-aging) Yushin Ryo (step-father his quirk mind reader) real father left before her mother had a chance to tell him he'll be a father. (Will draw her parents later... Eventually...) Personality: stubborn, cheerful, determined, confident, sometimes a bit of an air-head Likes: Sewing. Eating Rice and Egg, being a part-time model, collecting limited edition stuff (most All Might stuff and otaku stuff) Deku, Yagi, Monster energy drinks, wine, watching movies. Dislikes: Onions, not being able to drink a monster in the mornings, her friends getting hurt, staying up super late. Hobbies: Planning her life with Yagi as soon as she graduates. Stalking him (not to the Yandere extent. Teasing Izuku and Uraraka. Bio: The reason why Emi looks like a 15 year old instead of an adult (not loli) is due to her mother's Quirk. Asami has anti-aging. When Emi was born she grew up normally for five years, but she was an adorable baby. Asami loved her and loved dressing her up, she ended up as a five year for 15 years. Her body stopped growing but her mind grew and devolped like she was growing. So after a few years she was able to take care of herself, stay by herself etc since her mother worked hard on her modeling (sense she had youthful looks and didn't change on bit, but she did this so her and her daughter could have a better life) everyone know Emi was 15 year old teenage girl stuck in a 5 year old body. Emi had no idea what her Quirk was for 15 years. She couldn't change herself back, so she didn't have her motner's Quirk. And her father left before her mother had a chance to even see him use he's Quirk once. One day though, after her mother started her singing debut they went out to celebrate. But just Emi and Asami. Her mother's fame had started to sky rocket in a few year, so as espected her fan base grew pretty large. After they left the agency a stalker followed them until he had them pretty alone and close to an alley. Asami had no combat experiance and Emi was just a child, ontop of that the stalker had a Quirk so the chance of them escaping were very low... Asami did charge at the stalker telling Emi to run. Emi refused but that's when the stalker knocked Asami down, after that he started heading for Emi saying he'll get rid of her so he can have Asami all to himself. In a panic Emi ran to her mother evading him for a bit, and her trying to wake her up. As he was close to them once again, crying and praying for a miracle she bit down on her lower lip and yelled out "I'll protect you mother to the very end! I won't leave you alone..." as an insicit she moved her arm almost as if scratching at something, doing all this with her eyes closed waiting for the attack to come but nothing. Opening her eyes she saw he was stuck and some dark ropes to strings were holding him in place. Surprised that it was actually her, she had a little bit of hope. That hope was then gone in a instant, as he used his Quirk to punch her hard right in her stomach... Making her lose her grip on him and him quick grabing her neck and pulling her to him. Choking her, she whimpered for help one last time, feeling useless that she couldn't protect her mother or herself. "It's fine now." she heard from a distance as she was about to take her last breath... But she then gasped loudly as she no longer felt him choking her. And she left safe now... "Why? Because I am here!" turning up she realized she was held in the arms of a young man smiling ever so kindly to her. He held her tight and before she knew it he had knocked the stalker back down for good. Sighing in relief, he set her down saying everything will be fine he's friend was on the way and knowing him he already called for the police. So after everything, her mother coming too and the police taking the stalker she just kept looking at the young man in awe. Her mother noticed her looking at him, giggling a bit said to the man thanks for saving them both. He kindly said no problem that's what anyone would do. She then asked if he could hold Emi so she can take a picture of their savior. Surprised he hesitated but smiled and nodded. He picked Emi up smiling and apologizing, as Asami was getting ready to take the picture... Emi asked, "what's you're name..?" "Hmm..? It's... Yagi Toshinori and yours?" "Himari Emi... Can i ask you another question?" "Heh sure!" smiling as he waited for the next question. "You…" she hesitated a bit... But something in her gave her strength to say the next sentence. "Will you wait for me? When I’m old enough I’ll marry you. So… will you? Taken back a bit and confused on what she said, Asami smiled and helped him out on what she was trying to say, "You're her first love, that's why she's saying that heh." "Come on Casanova, answer the young lady... So i can go home and sleep..." he's friend shouted from back. After a minute of processing what was going on, he smiled once more making Emi's heart beat even faster. Waiting for he's answer... "Heh, if that’s what you want ok! I’ll wait for you. Promise!" In sheer joy she gave him a even brigther smile then his, "Heheh promise!" (Sorry i made it so long... Once i get going i cant stop... But this explains why she loves him. I think the condition is called shinning knight syndrome or something along those lines X3 horrible at remember stuff...) {Reason why she's an All Might fan is because one day watching the new she saw a new clip of a hero saving so many people by himself. And he's smile and how brave he was reminded her of that night when Yagi saved her and her mother. She wanted to protect her mother but also be a great hero like All Might and Yagi. So that impression of them both pushed her in life. To convince her mother to allow her to grow up and to make her dreams come true.} Wow that was long XD Again I'll sorry...

Opening up
Clare: chose her words carefully. “We’ll see. I don’t want to keep you from your work. I’m still looking forward to meeting your grandpa. Hopefully after the trip.” She wanted to make a good impression on him especially since they had to reschedule it after Clare already went shopping for it with their money. She didn’t want to be the girl who was taking up all of Kota’s time ‘that should be spent on more important things’. Even if they were just teenagers. “But if you can give it your undivided attention first….then I’ll come over if that’s what you really want.” Clare could watch TV anywhere. Kota’s was preferred because cuddles. But she just wanted to feel welcome and not in the way. If she went home, she’d be interrupting the Saturday Night Screaming Match. The Torres family knew all about her parents. So did the Bhandari’s. Clare gave up on trying to keep it a secret when she kept needing somewhere to hide out. She laughed at the description of octopus suckers getting stuck to the roof of your mouth. “That never stops me. Taffy sticks to the roof of your mouth too and peanut butter, the worst. I also get popcorn in between my front teeth. They’re all so good I have to risk it. I don’t know if octopus belongs in the same category…” She laughed again knowing there was a strong possibility it would be disgusting. “I want to be brave like Emi and try it though.” Clare made a mental note not to offer Kota any gum. She had a few sticks of watermelon in her purse from a pack she’d bought a few months ago. Clare smiled. “I do want a job but I’m not sure about taking money for something I would do for free.” She explained letting Kota know she’d watch Emi whenever he needed her to. But she might get a weekend job at the cinema or a clothing store, or something, too. What she was really hoping for was an internship at a newspaper but that wouldn’t be possible until next year or later. It also wouldn’t pay. Luckily Clare was more interesting in gaining experience. She bit her lip as Kota described what Anya was going though. “Even if Anya couldn’t scream or communicate much, she said no because she didn’t say yes. You can’t give consent in that state. Choosing to drink doesn’t make you at fault.” Clare nodded. “I won’t let on that I know unless she brings it up. If I had known it was something that sensitive...about Anya not you, I wouldn’t have pushed…” She felt like she had a right to know Kota’s personal business but his friends were another story. Clare’s own sister never went into much detail about being drugged and raped. “I’m not going to tell anyone, anything.” She never went to that kind of party so it wasn’t like she had to explain why she was avoiding them. Sav already kept Alli from going, which meant Clare didn’t have to think of another reason to keep Alli away. “Probably not. I just don’t want you taking chances.” She admitted. “Oh. How big is your jet? Simpson can’t let any last minute students come if there’s not enough room. Sure, I never mind entertaining Emi. Really it’s the other way around.” Clare chuckled. “How long is the flight? I’ve only flown a couple of times and those were short distances.” She grew a little nervous as Kota talked about helping to fly the jet. Over the ocean?! Or was it TWO oceans? Clare wasn’t even sure of the route. “Um. Wow. Is that safe? Sorry. Um. How long have you been taking lessons? There’s going to be a real pilot too? Sorry.” She had to agree about Simpson. He had enough strikes against him, Clare was sure, without messing up the exchange program. “I think Simpson will have to look the other way.” She glanced around the food court and quickly decided to go to the chicken place first. “I’m going to start with a chicken wrap and coke. Then get a big pretzel and cheese dip...for dessert.” Clare told Kota honestly.
Kota: chuckled a bit when Clare mentioned keeping him from work. "You won't be, I mean Emi will be there and you can play with her or we can lay down on the couch and I can wrap my arms around you as I type on the computer and talk on a headset." He offered almost joking about laying on the couch with her. "My grandpa is still trying to clear his schedule again, but he said he's looking forward to meet him and from what I tell him you seem to have a good head on your shoulders." He added and chuckled when Clare mentioned taffy. "I don't eat taffy either or peanut butter, or popcorn, or certain gummies. Not all get stuck in your teeth. Though I do chew gum during take offs and landing." He admitted. "The funny thing is Kota is absolutely terrified of heights. His twin is too, both of them fainted on the ferries wheel." Mel laughed as she took out her phone and showed Clare a video of the three of them on a ferries wheel and both Kota and Dom fainting when Mel pointed out how high they were. "But this is him in a plane." Mel said showing Clare a video of her entering the cockpit of a plane while Kota was co-piloting. "Kota, how high are we?" Mel asked on the video and it showed Kota glancing at a gauge. "We are approximately 50,000 feet in altitude." He answered and looked at the pilot for correction. "Correct." The pilot said as the two focused out the giant windshield. "Ok, kid. You proved that you can take off on your own, now prove that you can land." The captain said as the video continued. "They allowed me to remain in the cockpit as long as I stayed quiet, but Kota landed perfectly. I laughed historically once we landed and the pilot took over." Mel said honestly. "And she did too, she even showed the pilot the video and he is also terrified of heights and it turns out that most of the pilots I've met after him are terrified of heights too." He added in self defense. "You can try it, they serve it at a tariyaki cart I like. We also have to go to this store it sells vintage office supplies. They have a sharpener Mel would like, its a dolls head, you stick the pencil in the eye and the shavings come out the mouth." He chimed. "Is this the one you were making exclusive MB stuff for?" Mel asked. "Yes, I asked before and was told to bring back product she can use and the price of each untit as well as talk to her supplier so the items don't conflict. I ended up making college lined notebooks. If she agrees to sell them, I'll have to help rearrange her shop to make room. We'll probably stay the night there or somewhere so we have to go after school on a Saturday. Someone there normally supplies the food and I usually help out with breakfast since there are literally no hotels in the city. I met a college student that was an English major so she helped me communicate a lot rather than relying on my phone. She also allowed me stay at her single dorm room while she stayed with her boyfriend." He explained. "Wait, they go to school on Saturdays in Japan?" Mel exclaimed. "Yes, only till 3. We have half a day, normally we get done school at 6. The shop opens at 6:30pm to 11:30pm, Saturday's it's open from 3:30 to midnight and Sunday's it's open from whenever Satchi opens it till midnight." Kota added. "Does it even get business?" Mel asked. "Yes, it's in a small town and is one of the only shops that still sells origami paper, fountain pens, and office supplies like that." he answered and looked at Clare when she mentioned the party. "I agree and thank you for not saying anything." he smiled and listened to her questions. "It's got some room. I mean there's only 6 of us going so far and honestly, it's not too late for Simpson to tell me he's adding someone to the list because the school in Japan has room for 12 of us and there are still families willing to house kids." he said honestly and looked at her. "It's 14 hours, but don't worry there's a working TV, video games, movies, dvds, and wifi." he explained and chuckled when she started to ask questions about him flying. "If it wasn't safe, I wouldn't be flying. Yes, my instructor will be piloting. I just need hours as a co-pilot before I can get my license and fly on my own. I have 400 hours of flying experience and looked at her when she mentioned Simpson looking the other way. "Well, if the police start investigating more he'll be unable to leave the country." Kota shrugged and followed her as she got food, he watched as she ordered and added fries to the order and paid for it before walking over and getting a pizza for himself along with a drink, then headed to the table to sit next to Clare. "Where is Alli meeting you?" he asked curiously as he started to put the fries on his cheese pizza.

The Trials of Emi
Pairing: A little Minho. A sprinkle of Frypan. Gally x Emi(OC)
Summary: Emi, her twin brother Thomas, and a small group of gladers had been rescued and taken to a safe haven. Or so it seemed. It doesn't take long for Thomas to realize something is wrong. Chapter Nine
Tumblr media
Thomas and Minho both kept me talking so I'd stay awake. The ride hadn’t seemed as long as it actually was but when we got to the mountain pass Jorge slowed the truck to a stop. In front of us looked to be a bunch of old abandoned vehicles blocking the road. We all got out of the truck. I stumbled a bit but Minho caught me then kept a hold on me.
"Well, I guess we're on foot," Jorge said.
We started walking slowly up the road. Minho kept his arm tightly around my waist as I tried to keep myself steady. My vision was blurring making my head swim even more than it already was. A few of the guys were checking the cars as we walked past them. We were around the middle of the abandoned cars when shots rang out making us all dive for cover. I fell against a car between Minho and Newt. A minute passed as we all listened for more gunfire.
"Is everyone ok up there?" Thomas shouted.
"We're fine!" Teresa shouted back to him.
"Anyone know where those bloody shots came from?" Newt questioned loudly.
I could feel my breathing waver. It was like my heart was trying to beat faster but my body wasn’t letting it. I saw Thomas peek over the car he was hiding behind then more shots rang out as he dived back down.
"Minho" I whispered feeling myself falling into unconsciousness.
My chest grew heavier making it harder to breathe.
"No, Emi, you gotta hang on. We're almost there." Minho said frantically as he held my face in his hands.
"Emi" Newt said.
"Everybody get set to sprint back to the truck and hold your ears!" Jorge shouted.
"I can't" I panted as I shook my head.
"Drop it" I heard a girl command.
I looked up to see two young girls with a cloth over their faces. They were both holding a gun and pointing it down at the place Thomas and Jorge were hiding.
"Now! I said drop it! On your feet, let's go. Let's go!" The dark-haired girl shouted.
Jorge and Thomas got to their feet with their hands raised.
"Move! Back up!" The dark-haired girl shouted again.
As Thomas and Jorge moved backward towards us the girl pointed her gun at Minho, Newt, and myself.
"You three over here now! Don't be stupid." She ordered.
Newt and Minho both helped me to my feet. Minho took over holding me once I was righted.
"Slowly," the blonde girl said as she pointed her gun at the rest of the group that was joining us.
The dark-haired girl lowered her gun as she looked at us in confusion.
"Aris?" She questioned.
We all turned to look at the small boy. He stepped forward towards the girl.
"Oh my God, Harriet?" He questioned then quickly hugged the girl.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Harriet asked him.
"Sonya," Aris said to the blonde girl then hugged her.
"Aris, you're lucky we didn't shoot you're dumbass." Sonya chuckled.
"What's happening?" Minho asked clearly confused.
"We were in the maze together," Aris said to our group.
Harriet turned then whistled loudly.
"We're clear guys come on out!" She shouted.
Several people with guns started appearing on top of the mountain around us.
"Thom-" I started to say but at that moment my body completely shut off.
All I remember is feeling myself falling then hearing my name being shouted by several different people.
When I finally came to I was laying on a cot in what looked like a tent. I sat up slowly to see Brenda laying on the cot next to me. Jorge was sitting in a chair between both our beds.
"Easy Emi" Jorge said.
"What happened?" I asked him.
He shared a look with Brenda who was now sitting up as well.
"You passed out on the mountain pass. Minho caught you then carried you with us all the way here to the Right Arm camp." Jorge explained.
"The Right Arm? We found them?" I asked him.
Jorge and Brenda both nodded.
"What happened to you?" I asked Brenda.
"I was bitten when Thomas and I were separated from the rest of you. The doctor here gave me some of Thomas' blood. She said it would slow the infection." Brenda explained.
"Shit" I breathed.
"Mary, the doctor, she stitched you up properly then gave you a shot of something. She said it would help you get back on your feet from the blood loss." Jorge told me.
I looked down for the first time noticing I was only in a tank top. My shoulder had been wrapped in a clean white bandage.
"There's some warmer clothes for you right there." Jorge pointed to the chair on the other side of my cot.
I slowly got to my feet. I pulled on the sweater and the coat they had left for me. I instantly felt warmer. Jorge dismissed himself to step outside. I sat back on the edge of my cot.
"Are you feeling alright?" I asked Brenda.
"I feel better than I did." She shrugged.
Jorge ran back inside quickly. The look on his face could only be explained as one of pure panic.
"Get up we need to go. Now!" He shouted.
Brenda and I scrambled to our feet then quickly followed Jorge out of the tent. The people in the camp were shouting as two helicopters approached in the distance. Jorge pulled both me and Brenda behind him as he ran threw the camp. He grabbed two guns. He threw one over his shoulder then tossed the other to Brenda. I found one as we ducked for cover. Only a second after we covered ourselves the helicopters were overhead and dropping explosives. They fell randomly exploding the moment they hit the ground. One of them fell right next to the tent the three of us had just been in. Thomas suddenly ran past us as he caught sight of the now burning tent.
"Emi! Brenda!" He shouted frantically.
Brenda jumped out then ran to him. She grabbed his arm turning him to face her.
"You dumbass" she shouted at him then pulled him behind her.
They ran back to Jorge and I. Thomas fell beside me instantly hugging me tightly to him.
"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Brenda asked him.
"We have to go, now, while we still have the chance," Jorge said quickly.
"I have to find the others," Thomas stated.
"No! No!" Jorge shouted as he grabbed Thomas to keep him from moving.
"Look, look, you can't help them," Jorge said pointing his finger.
Thomas and I followed his finger to see Minho, Fry, Newt, Harriet, and an older man on and around a truck in the midst of firing guns. As we watched several WCKD guards attacked them. One guard threw something then everyone on and around the truck was electrocuted.
"No!" I shouted trying to get to my feet.
Thomas pulled me back down. He wrapped his arms around me keeping me close to him.
"I'm sorry. There's nothing you can do for them. If we don't move now we won't be much better off." Jorge told us.
"You guys have to go right now and take Emi with you. Keep her safe." Thomas said pushing me towards Brenda.
"What?" Brenda and I asked in unison.
"I'm not leaving you Tommy," I told him sharply as I jerked out of Brenda's hold.
"They're not looking for you. You'll be safe but you have to go now." Thomas said as he looked between the three of us.
"Thomas" Brenda whispered.
"I can't leave without them," Thomas said.
"Neither can I!" I shouted at him.
"Good luck you two. Bren, we have to go come on. Come on." Jorge said as he pulled Brenda with him.
Thomas narrowed his eyes at me.
"You can scold me all you want but you're my brother and those guys are my family. You're all I have. I'm not going anywhere." I told him sternly.
He sighed as he looked down. A smile spread across his face making me look down too. Jorge left his backpack. As the guards rounded everyone up and sat them in rows on their knees Thomas dug threw the bag until he found what he was looking for. He pulled out two small items. I took the slightly bigger one from him to look at.
"Careful Emi that's a bomb." He told me quietly.
He tried to take it from me but I pulled it away from him.
"Are you gonna blow them up?" I asked him.
"All of us if I have to." He said sternly.
I looked at him in shock for a moment before understanding what he meant. I was with him no matter what his plan was.
"I'll keep the bomb. You keep the detonator." I said as I stuffed the thing in my coat.
Thomas started to retort but Janson's loud voice grabbed both of our attentions.
"Where's Thomas and his sister?" Janson questioned loudly.
Thomas stood and I followed him without question.
"Right here" Thomas shouted as he raised his hands.
I did the same as him. We were both grabbed then shoved forward to stand in front of Janson.
"Thomas" Janson said with a smile.
Janson punched Thomas roughly in the stomach making him double over.
"You bastard!" I shouted as I launched myself at him.
A guard was quick to grab me then throw me to the ground. Janson chuckled.
"Get them in line." He said then turned to whisper to another man.
We were both shoved onto our knees in line with the others. Thomas was next to Minho and I was next to Thomas.
"Why didn't you run?" Minho asked quietly.
"I'm tired of running," Thomas said simply.
A minute later a large aircraft was landing in the middle of the camp. Out of that aircraft came four more guards and Ava Paige. Ava and Janson had a quiet conversation before Janson turned to the guards.
"Let's go! Get them on!" Janson ordered.
The guards instantly started grabbing kids to take onto the aircraft.

Opening Up
Clare: often found new books online by browsing through suggestions of similar reads to past favorites. She was sure this wouldn’t be much different. “I like that feature already. The biggest problem I run into is looking for paranormal romance and getting horror. Yeah if the cover looks gory or violent, I won’t get it.” She grinned at him. “Thank you, if you really don’t mind helping me out. We probably will be using a wok. Unless they are worried about grease fires.” Clare became uneasy at the thought. “There are so many distractions in a classroom and I have slow reflexes.” She laughed nervously. “No problem. We’ll get along fine. I just have to warn Alli.” Her best friend was more outgoing than she was and could easily become defensive. Clare remembered how Alli had taken an immediate dislike to Jenna. Once she made up her mind about someone it was difficult to change it. “Good! I was starting to miss the days when I didn’t care about my appearance and would wear whatever I wanted even if it caused me to be made fun of.” She chuckled. “Yay!” She enthusiastically responded to going to a Cultural Festival. “What is Host Cafe?” Clare knew if it had anything to do with drinking the schools were going to say no. “Oh my god.” She squealed. “If we are doing this, we have to go all out! No point in doing something with so much potential half assed. You have to wear an apron with a big satin bow tying it in the back, gloves, high heels, maid headpiece and feather duster. Everything allowed. Thigh highs with the garter might be against the rules. Though I’d pay money to see you, Kota. Of course I’ll gladly wear a male waiter costume which is probably a vest over a button down shirt, black slacks, a bowtie, and men’s shoes. Can’t forget those. I’m going to have to buy a wig. What color should I go with? I want straight hair too that will make me look different. Maybe Alli and I can draw fake mustaches on each other! I think that would look better than one you glue on. I wonder if I can trick her into letting me give her a goatee?” She grinned mischievously. “I know. I just wasn’t sure how much you trusted him with. I’m glad he’s not like your brothers, you need someone to confide in besides me. So we let everyone think whatever they want? But I don’t have to lie?” Clare was glad she didn’t have to confirm any rumors that might make their way back home. She didn’t care about being thrown out of Jesus Club, however, Clare couldn’t let her parents find out she dared to sleep in the same bed as a boy (even if they weren’t doing anything other than sleeping). “Technically it’s an Irish Claddagh ring.” She doubted many girls would ask the meaning behind it. “I’m not ready emotionally, and I make no promises when I will be. Emi’s good birth control. I love her but I couldn’t take care of her full time like you do. My family’s a mess, I’d have zero support, and a baby is a lot more work. I don’t want us to resent each other because we had to miss out being a normal teenagers. I’m going away for college, I want to live in a dorm and be independent.” If she really got pregnant at 16, her parents and especially Darcy (who looked down on teen moms) would pressure her into giving the baby up for adoption but Clare saw no reason to bring that up. She nodded. “We’ll table it. I obviously am not comfortable with relying on a condom either, I’d have to come up with a way to get around needing parental permission. Or Mom’s head would explode.” Clare didn’t want Kota to change his mind later on and break up with her for a girl who was on birth control. There was nothing she could do about it though. “Seriously? That might be your best kept secret. I mean I have seen tabloid articles with headlines like Melanie Martinez goes on a weekend rendezvous with her younger man! But they never mentioned Toronto.” Clare didn’t feel stupid for not recognizing her own city or Kota if he’d ever been caught on camera too because no one else at school did either. Mostly Clare thought those articles were bogus. But sometimes they guessed Melanie was in some exotic location with an upcoming actor who had a baby face but was really 25. She listened to their crazy adventures, and more they could possibly have. She could never be apart of that. But that was okay. At least she was finally getting to go somewhere AND currently hanging out with Melanie Martinez! Clare smiled. “It won’t be a free for all but it will be parentless.” She walked out of the office and looked at Melanie before answering Kota. “How about starting with Yohio’s lab?”
Kota: looked at Clare when she mentioned paranormal romance and getting horror. "They classify paranormal as supernatural and I've read one supernatural romance that I liked. It didn't have horror, but it was also adult." he explained. "I'm not sure, to be honest I haven't heard of them using a wok, but if you go to someone's house to learn they may use a wok." he shrugged. He listened to her talk about warning Alli and nodded, then laughed when she mentioned her clothes. "A host club is basically a legal form of prostitution without the prostitution. We'd have to wear suits and look nice, the customer will get a list of names of who's on duty and pick which one they want to be with. We'd have to sit with the customer or customers while they eat, we'd be able to drink soda or something with them and we'd have to do what they say. If a girl tells me to flirt with her, I'd have to or we'd lose money. I'd have to kiss her hand regardless though, when the customers leave a kiss on the hand is a proper goodbye." he explained the best he could. Hearing Clare go on about the cafe causing him to shake his head. "You can't do any of that. Everything is supplied by the school. The outfits are decided by votes, the ones that get the most votes are what we will be wearing and they're handmade by our class. The wigs will be provided by the theater committee, the shoes will also be provided for us by the school. You and Alli cannot have facial hair of any sort, you'd have to look like a high school boy and there will already be someone to do your make up and mine. Who knows they may only straighten and style your hair, there are guys with long hair at school. To be honest, I do my hair differently in Japan, there are times when Natsumi stood on a chair and tied my bangs for me with a band on the top of my head. It looked like a small ponytail and it's not uncommon for guys to do that there like it is here." he assured. "No we don't have to lie. If they know you're a virgin who cares? If they think we're having sex, let them." he said honestly. He didn't correct anyone either, he just let them think what they wanted. "I feel the same, I'm not emotionally ready and I don't know when I will be either. I'm actually going to community college because most dormitories won't allow Emi to live with me in them and who's to say if and when my aunt will come back for her. When I graduate Degrassi, I'm getting an apartment to live in wherever I go to school and I'm going to bring Emi apartment shopping with me. If my aunt comes and gets her by then I'll stay in a dorm. I do know that newborns cry a lot and not all of them sleep through the night so continuing high school with a child is nearly impossible and it would be just as impossible to go to an actual college like we want, we'd have to go online and that would suck a lot. I don't plan on having sex until I'm able to take responsibility for whatever happens." he smiled at her and kissed her cheek. "We can worry about that later and I don't think you'll need to get your mom's permission for birth control. I'm not planning on being ready while I'm still in high school so there's no need to worry about that." he said honestly and listened to her. "No, we were in Cali when that happened so don't worry about recognizing the city. I'm able to take small trips between here and America when I want as long as my mom knows. Plus they didn't really get my face, I wore dark glasses and a hat so they couldn't get my face." he confirmed. As Clare spoke, he looked around his office to make sure he had everything and smiled. "Yohio's lab it is." he said before hearing his phone ring and answering it. "Great, I've been trying to call you." he chimed to the person on the other end. "I'm bringing my girlfriend when I bring the jacket to you so..." he trailed off and listened. "That'd be perfect. I'll make sure she's free and I'm willing to pay you back for this. Her name is Clare and please whatever you do don't embarrass her. If you do the IOU you have against me will be null and void." he stated in the phone and smiled. "Great and ok, I'll put paper in my fax machine so you can fax whatever you need to." he smiled. "Ok, I'll see you then and I promise not to tell her. Love ya too." he chuckled and hung up the phone. "Clare, keep your schedule clear for next Saturday. We apparently have plans and I'm not sure what's going to happen since I'm in debt to someone right now." he explained. "Ah, debt that you need to pay with your body." Mel laughed jokingly. "That's not funny, for all I know she could be planning something and though she won't make me her slave I'm still unable to find out what she has up her sleeve." he sighed and stood up. "To Yohio's office." he chimed and lead them down a corridor. "We can't go inside due to the fact he's working and if we scare him or the chemist it could cause problems." he informed and stopped to press a button on the elevator. "What is he making?" Mel asked. "Perfume." Kota answered. "We're selling it in the store downstairs and in Japan first. If the perfume sells well, we'll build him a lab in Japan." he added as they got on the elevator and he pressed the button for the third floor. "The girl you were on the phone with, do I know her?" Mel asked. "Not personally, but you know who she is." he said. "That could be anyone." Mel sighed. "I'll tell you who it is later." he said. "Maybe she just wants to hang out." Mel shrugged. "That's a possibility. I have only been able to hang out with her in America so maybe she wants me to give her a tour of Toronto." he sighed in relief as the elevator stopped and he lead them to a big window. "This is Yohio's lab." he said looking through it to see Yohio and waved at him, in turn Yohio waved back wearing a hooded lab coat, hospital mask, rubber gloves and protective glasses. "Where to next?" he asked.

Opening Up
Clare: thought having a job equaled freedom because you got paid and back home, at least, it meant you were more likely to be able to buy a car or insurance if your parents gave you one. Not that she knew how to drive yet. “Yeah, my parents won’t let me make work commitments. School always has to come first. So it all sounds pretty good to me. Except for the kids who don’t get a choice. That might not be so good. If they’re forced to grow up too quickly and miss out on playing with their friends after school. Having more responsibility probably doesn’t hurt the older kids though. I never felt like I had enough. It’s like they don’t trust me not to take on too much.” Clare didn’t have any problem keeping up with extracurriculars. Hadn’t she proven herself to them yet? She nodded in agreement. There would still be plenty of classes for her take next year, she would just be bored more often and they’d mostly be with the seniors. Clare didn’t know what she’d do during her actual senior year. It came right back to what they’d been talking about. “I probably will get lost at school. Unless you draw me a really good map.” She chuckled. “I’m more worried about in the city. Navigating the public transport will be an adventure in itself. It’s a very good thing you’re going to be there.” Clare carefully listened taking mental notes as Kota described what their daily schedule would be like. She probably wouldn’t take the midterm since the semester was already in progress. “Really? You don’t think they’re familiar with reporters? At all?” Clare tried to wrap her mind around this new information. “Okay, I wouldn’t have much time to help get it going if I did. That’s very interesting. I kind of wish we picked our student president that way instead of it being a regular popularity contest. Though it would take away the fun of campaigning…” It was also a longshot that you’d get the best person for the job every time. “Guess Yamamishi will be a fountain of information.” She said enthusiastically. “Oh my god.” Clare laughed. “I hope you’re right about it working that way. Thanks for the warning.” ” She really didn’t like that kind of attention. Directed at either one of them. Feeling like she had to compete with other girls in order to spend time with her own boyfriend or worse to keep him would drive her crazy. Clare knew Kota wouldn’t purposely put her in that situation. “Her Roman Holiday and Funny Face characters are the most like me.” She said honestly. “Who knows. She may have kept them in a container. We had a big plastic doll house so there was no hiding that.” Clare wondered if she should’ve pointed it out. She didn’t want to embarrass him by making it into a big deal. However, she was glad this was Kota’s first ever (romantic) exchange of ‘I love you’s’. She couldn’t stop smiling. “No, I know. You just said what you were feeling. I wasn’t planning to say those three words either. We’ve only been dating a few months. But I meant it. There’s a difference between loving someone and being IN love anyway. Definitely too soon…” She changed the subject and was glad when Kota stopped covering up his face. Clare shrugged when he said they could go. She thought it might be better for Jill to get some rest. She bit her lip at the mention of that particular song. It was one of two of Melanie Martinez’s songs that she related to all too well. Her smile returned when Kota started singing the least negative part of the song. She felt safe and secure in his arms, listening to his voice so it probably would’ve been okay if he’d sung the chorus. Clare nodded and stood up. “Sweet dreams.” She whispered to Jill as she passed by the young girl on her way out of the room. She stopped when she reached Makayla’s shrine. “Bye Makayla, I’ll talk to you soon. Keep you in the loop about how the school trip to Japan is going.” Clare glanced at the picture of Makayla and Kota. It was so awful, Makayla was gone way too soon. She would be missing out on everything. She turned to her boyfriend and squeezed his shoulder comfortingly. “I’ll meet you at the car.” Clare whispered in case Kota wanted to say goodbye privately. She quickly walked out of the house.
Kota: looked at Clare when she mentioned kids not having a choice. "It does suck when they don't have a choice, but for the most part they do." he assured. "I have read manga where there were girls who had to work because their family members were in debt or they inherited debt after losing their parents." he added though he wasn't sure how often that actually happened in Japan. Kota chuckled at Clare when she mentioned him drawing a map for her. "I don't need to. I can take you to all your classes and Natsumi already said she'd take you to home ec while I go to PE. Just never take her to pick up Emi they will actually try to enroll her since she's only a few inches taller than Emi." he explained though he knew she'd get used to everything while they were there. Hearing Clare mention the city caused him to chuckle. "It's ok, I'll be with you or someone will that won't let you get lost." he promised and listened when she mentioned reporters. "They are familiar with reporters, but adult reporters not kids our age so wearing your press pass will just stir up a lot of commotion. Teachers pry us to ask questions about things we're unfamiliar with, I missed an entire day of school because a teacher was curious about how I came up with the idea of Murder Bunny, how Murder Bunny became iconic since it's bigger in Japan, and a bunch of other questions. I didn't get in trouble, but I missed club activities and had to do both the school work I missed that day and homework by the following school day or I would fall behind, then the next day I was in charge of a school meeting because that teacher felt it would benefit that entire school so it was basically me on stage with a microphone answering questions from the entire student body like I was at an interview and even Yamamishi couldn't get me out of that situation, no one was able to join me on stage. Unless you want to go through everything I went through I'd ditch the idea of wearing a press pass." he said looking at her, he wouldn't want her to go through the same ordeal he had to. When Clare spoke about the roman dolls and assured him about not having anything to worry about with the exchange of those three words, he smiled. He watched as she said bye to Makayla and Jill, though he knew he was going to do the same since he often visits. Luckily for him, he caught up with Clare before she was in the car and joined her. "Where do you want to go? I guess you could say I have a client here to pick up a few dresses whenever I'm free which would allow you to see the company and I could give you a small tour. I could also take you to TU, we can sit in on a class and you could get a head start on everyone else or we could do whatever you want." he shrugged giving her some options.

Weekend Fun
Clare: had forgotten his family was probably listening to everything she said. She wondered how often she or her parents were slipping up and revealing too much about what was going on at home. Luckily no one outside of the Jesus Club seemed suspicious. Clare hadn't shared much with them, she hadn't been ready to open up to a group of people, but they'd pressed the issue because some of them attended her church. The few friends who knew she'd told because she trusted them. "I don't know why some boys are weird about it but really it's no one's business anyway." Clare said making the zipping motion with her lips. She didn't judge Dallas for having sex. It was a personal choice. "That's smart." Clare hoped it worked out like Dakota and his friend thought. Even though Dakota had the fighting skills to defend himself and protect the girl from her dad and ex-boyfriend, those kind of situations were unpredictable. What if one of them showed up with a weapon? Clare smiled. "Thank you." She buried her face in her hands and giggled. "It's true though. There must be something else." She removed her hands when Dakota started talking about his family's heated pool. "Lucky! What a great way to spend Christmas. I took swimming lessons when I was about Emi's age. It probably is better to bring her there and ease her out of the fear." Clare smiled. "I really do. Oops?" She polished off the slice in no time. She decided to snag a third slice before they were all gone. Normally Clare would've been embarrassed to eat so much in front of a cute boy but Dakota knew she'd skipped breakfast. She looked at Emi curiously when the little girl excitedly handed him a guitar. She hadn't known he played much less what song it was Emi wanted to hear. Clare sat down on the couch to watch Dakota and Stacy perform. She was slightly shocked when Dakota started to sing. He had a great voice. She listened to the lyrics and watched him strum the strings of his guitar. His playing sounded great too. She grinned widely and clapped a little when Dakota and Stacy finished, not caring if it was silly. Stacy deserved applause too, she could sing, Clare just hadn't been paying as much attention to her. "Well it definitely was a stroke of fate! You're really talented. All of that practicing paid off. I like the song too, I hadn't heard it before." She admitted. Clare listened to Dakota and his brothers describe all of their activities and what Kelly could do too. "How incredible! It sounds to me like you've all got plenty of possible careers to chose from and having hobbies is fun too. I took a lot of different lessons too. But mostly because my mom didn't really care if my sister Darcy and I liked something or not. She just wanted us to keep busy so anything I quit, I had to find a replacement for." Clare said truthfully. "I tried learning how to play the piano first and then the clarinet another time but I'm kind of tone deaf so that didn't work out too well. I played softball for about four years even though I hate most sports but I finally found one I like besides swimming, Badminton. Dancing, gymnastics, and cheerleading were Darcy's thing so I kept trying to veer away from that and find stuff I enjoyed. Like writing classes and participating in children's theater groups. I took some beginning art and craft classes too. I even took sewing. Making things like pillows and dice is fairly easy but I never learned how to make complicated things like clothes. Oh, and I was in Girl Guides." Clare shared. "I want to be a writer. My dad says that's not realistic so I told him it is if I go into journalism. But I'm not sure if I will yet or not."
Kota: chuckled a bit as Clare moved her hands over her lips in a zipping motion. "Guys at school will bully us if they knew. It's a double standard, it's ok for a girl to be a virgin when she's over 18, but for a guy it's different." he explained. "Ash and I, even though we're virgins, no one at school knows. A guy on the football team got cast out for being a virgin, they bullied him to the point where his girlfriend felt pressured to have sex with him. He rejected her because he knew they weren't ready and quit the football team. Though he didn't tell anyone about being bullied, the football team pointed to the cheerleaders that the was a virgin and made other negative comments about him to them and they told the girls. The girls didn't tell a teacher, but took matters in their own hands and often stood up for him about it and consoled him, the quarterback's girlfriend broke up with him and cheerleaders refused to cheer because they knew about the bullying. The bullying got worse to the point where the teachers found out from the girls and suspended the football team, the quarterback of the team blamed him so the kids that didn't know about him being bullied, bullied him in return blaming him for the suspension of the team. Ash and I decided to put a stop to it, but the cheerleaders stopped us saying it'll only get worse if we butted in since they dumped paint on the captain of their team causing the rest of the cheerleaders to defend her. It got so bad teachers took over and when the bullying stopped he didn't have friends nor did his girlfriend. If you talked to one of them on your free will, you lost your friends and got bullied. We all decided to talk to them once and a few upper classmen told us that if we did that we'd regret it. They'd outcast our whole class and grade if they had to along with giving an explanation of how they'd do it and there wasn't anything we can do about it. They would make whole grade would stand in the caf during lunch by taking over the tables, they'd make us sit on the back of the bus on the way home so they can trip us as we walk down the aisle among other stuff." Dom explained. "Which is why we don't tell anyone." Kota said honestly and smiled as Clare covered her face and spoke. "Eh, there's a lot to do to keep up with it." he said honestly. "Plus there are days we don't feel like swimming and if people at school knew we have a pool here we'd get used. We would make friends easily because of it. It happened in elementary school. Kids would become our friend just to go swimming in our pool. The lesson is what made her afraid of water. When she was a year old, my aunt came here to take her to swimming lessons and they dunked her under water to 'get her one with the water' she choked on it and has been afraid ever since. My mom told me about it." he explained and kissed Clare's cheek. "I'm glad you like it." he smiled and looked at her before taking his second piece as well as getting Emi another piece. "I think you should've made three pizzas." Stacy laughed a bit. "I wish I had enough dough for three." he said honestly as they cleaned up. The minute the song was over and Clare spoke, he smiled. "Maybe I could play the whole thing for you. It's too depressing for Emi. It's called Hold On Till May by Pierce The Veil. I'll reblog it for you." he assured. As Clare spoke, Kota put his guitar down and walked over to Clare only to put her on his lap. "We need badminton equipment." Dallas nodded after Clare stopped speaking and Kota looked at her. "Journalism is a good trade to go into." he smirked at her and watched as Dallas and Stacy walked off. "They're probably going to go make out." Ash said and Kota looked around for a moment. "Game room?" he asked and helped Clare up. "Our basement has a ton of games in it thanks to Dom with his old summer job." Kota explained. "Though some of it we also brought from money we saved up snowing, cutting grass, and raking leaves." he said honestly as they walked to the basement. When they got down there he automatically saw Dom handing him a pool stick. "Oh, we all know how to fight. Ash and Dom know how to box." Kota added and looked at Clare. "Do you know how to play pool?" he asked.

Weekend Fun
Clare: chuckled when they spoke in unison. It was cute but made her even more confused. She glanced at Emi again. The little girl's presence kept her from saying too much about her dad because she didn't want to scare Emi. He wouldn't physically harm anyone, he threw inanimate objects but not at people, but it was entirely possible Randall might decide to come after her if he saw her talking to two boys he didn't know. She looked at the twin who grabbed her wrist. That probably meant he was Dakota. "Exactly. He wanted to know exactly where I was going and I didn't answer so he might be slightly suspicious." She smiled as Dakota and Dallas passed Emi around. Clare chewed on her lip nervously as she started to walk. "Oh. That's not a problem for me. She's lucky she can..." Clare wasn't even sure what time it was. She'd been so distracted, she hadn't checked. Clare studied Dakota as they walked towards his house. She knew which twin was which for now but him and Dallas could still easily trick her. Once there was a few blocks distance inbetween Clare and her dad, she began to relax. "You live further than I thought." She told Dakota. Clare shrugged and took the slippers. "They're pretty." She smiled in understanding and switched shoes. Luckily they fit. Clare was surprised when either Dallas' girlfriend or the boys' sister hugged her. "Good morning." She echoed. When the girl kissed Dallas, Clare realized this must be Stacy. Clare followed Dakota the rest of the way inside his house. "Just friends." She agreed, smiling at Dakota's sister. "That makes it sound like he's never had one but a lot of girls at school would disagree." Clare laughed. She watched his younger brothers try to convince Dakota to carry them around. She smiled at Ash and shook his hand. "Hi Ash, I'll remember that." She said checking out his shirt and memorizing the dark haired character wearing a red cap. Clare turned to Dom and shook his hand too. "Hi. Thanks Dom. What are they planning?" She looked at Dakota when he spoke. She was fairly certain that's who he was though all these identical faces made her head spin. It was amazing, two sets of cute twin boys in one family. "No, I haven't. Is it still early enough for breakfast? If not I don't mind waiting for lunch."
Kota: smiled at Clare and kept walking faster as she spoke about her dad not wanting to be in trouble with him or anything." he stated honestly. When they got to his house he looked at her. "Sorry, Clare." he apologized and watched everyone interact. The minute he heard her mention him having a girlfriend, he walked to Kelly and covered her mouth only for her to lick him. "Two can play that game, sis." he said and licked the side of her face. "Kota never had a girlfriend. You're the first girl he's bought home. We know about him studying with girls, but he's never had a girlfriend." she explained. "He refuses to date for some reason." Kelly smiled and looked at him. "I'll lick you again, this time with more saliva." he threatened and she stayed quiet. "I only took a girl to a dance and that was it. Other girls that I asked out on a date in middle school, kind of rejected me saying how much of a nerd I was. So I started to read more at home and slack off in class. Girls soon started to find me attractive so I thought that if they knew the real me, the one that studies, cares about his grades and shit, they'd reject me too so it's easier not to date or get close to her." he explained honestly. Once Clare spoke to him again, he looked at her. "I'll find out." he said and took a few steps into the house. "KELLY!" he yelled out. "Your sister is at work, Kota." his mom said. "Breakfast is almost done, sweetie." she said and he watched Emi run to the kitchen only to stand in the doorway. "Kota make me fried shrimp for lunch?" Emi asked and he smiled at her. "I'll try." he assured and watched as she walked to the kitchen. "Come here." he said leading Clare off before remembering Emi's leaving. "Emi you're leaving soon." he yelled out and handed her bookbag to her. "No, her friend's mom called to cancel when you were out. Kristina, her friend is sick." his mom explained and Emi smiled at him causing him to walk over to her. "Sorry you can't go." he said rubbing her head. "It's ok. I never stayed at a friend's house before." she said and hugged him. "Are you afraid to?" he asked softly and she nodded. "It's ok. I'm here and if you'd get scared you only have to call home and I'll get you." he assured. "I love you." he smiled and pulled away. "I love you too, Kota-momma." she smiled at him. He stood up and walked back to Clare only to lead her to the living room. He sat down on the couch and made room for Clare, their living room wasn't huge, but the house was very clean for four boys living in it and he knew by looking at it, you wouldn't tell that guys lived there. "We all have a bit of a cleanliness attitude in us." he said and watched Ash run out for a duster. "I forgot to dust my bookcase yesterday." he said and Kota laughed. "Can you dust my desk?" he asked him and handed Clare the remote. "Watch whatever you want." he said.
