Alright get you pintrest board out again what would 141's house look like, how are their living situations are they messy are they clean

you know i love when you guys ask about my pinterest!!! i may make it public so that way you guys can explore my boards (such as the wedding boards) in dept. lmk what you think!!

anyway! here's what i think the living situations of the 141 boys are!

Soap

as far as color scheme goes, his apartment is probably grey and white. i feel like he's relatively clean so his aesthetic would match. he has tons of blankets around in case his partner gets cold.

for his bedroom, similar story. grey and white with fluffy blankets and pillows. he's use to cots so when he is home, he wants to all the comfort he can get his hands on.

overall, he keeps his apartment clean and simple. if it gets too busy, he will get overwhelmed and not want to spend time and home. he likes fuzzy rugs and blankets and has no shame in it!

Ghost

for Ghost, his apartment's color scheme i think is probably dark tbh. i know i know but it makes somewhat sense to me. i feel like he would have darker accent walls and dark accent furniture pieces. he's also probably a minimalist so his walls are most likely bare. his place screams luxury and mystery though.

i think that his bedroom has some fun architecture to it. like some fun ceiling designs or something. the dark aesthetic continues into his bedroom and it does help with sexy times, helps set the mood. he does have those special lights that sync up to his tv and surround sound. his room is like a mfing movie theater.

Gaz

gaz....love him to death, but he is a navy and grey guy. when he meets his partner, you help him make his place a little nicer and homey-ier but my god someone help this man.

for his bedroom, its the same. he didn't have a headboard for the longest. but he got one recently!! he actually has a dark grey aesthetic for his bedroom and it's kinda cute

Price

he's a classy man!! what can i say!! his apartment is more tan/beige. probably some exposed brick/wood elements! he is somewhat a minimalist, but he does like his décor. he really likes wall art and plants.

when it comes to his bedroom, your comfort is his main priority. he has a fluffy comforter and the main vibe is white and tan/brown. he has a old, brown arm chair in the corner of your bedroom for when he smokes his cigars.

2. A movie you think is underrated

I absolutely love The Internship. It has pretty middle ratings apparently, but it's one of my favorite comedy movies. I've watched it about a dozen times. I can't listen to Alanis Morissette's Ironic without thinking of that movie lol.

8. A fantasy movie you like

I saw the movie Underworld some months back, and I loved it. I thought the tone and aesthetic of the movie were so uniquely gritty and I especially loved how the soundtrack meshed with that. I don't think I've heard any other soundtrack like that. Definitely has that good 2000's movie vibe.

20. A movie you think looks beautiful

I remember saving a bunch of screencaps to my Pintrest board of the movie Marrowbone. That's what actually made me watch the movie. I thought it was pretty stunning. A very unique movie as well, I loved it's genre blending. It's pretty dark but well worth the watch. Also, full of pretty prominent actors. (Which is surprising since I'd never heard of it before Pintrest)

23. An animated movie you like

I already mentioned a few in the previous post but one that I absolutely love is Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Fun fact, whenever I get really excited I make high pitched noises, one of which literally sounds like guinea pig noises (and is completely unintentional), and the other a laugh that sounds kinda like the rabbits in this movie (and is controllable). No idea why this happens lmao (slightly embarrassing when it happens in public). So you can picture me, a whumper, looking at various gifs and images of bloody men in pain and every few minutes hearing a quiet "hee hee!"

Anywho back to the task at hand, under the cut is a little bit about my hot garbage child Malia Roux, she’s an old muse but a goodie and I can’t wait to develop her more with you all! lipstick-stained menthol cigarettes, empty spray cans, fake smiles, and humorless laughs, glassy dull eyes, dirty knees and whispered secrets, acrylic paint and empty canvases, unwavering loyalty and bruised knuckles, paint-speckled backpack full of clothes, tight dresses and high heels, hushed compliments and chipped nail polish, night terrors, and paranoia.

BACKGROUND:

malia’s always been a lost soul. she grew up in phoenix, arizona, living in a tiny little suburban community, raised in one of the copycat cookie cutter homes just the same as the rest of the kids she went to high school with. when she was about five-years-old her dad walked out on her mom ( an aggressive & unloving woman who preferred her wine bottles to sippy cups ), leaving malia alone with her and her older sister ( who was eight years older than her ).

after her father left her mother got worse, now full of resentment and alcohol, she took everything out on malia. malia was too young to understand why, it wasn’t until years later she figured out the truth, that the reason her father had walked out on her mother was that he had found out that Malia, his pride, and joy, wasn’t even his daughter, but that’s neither here nor there.

as her mother’s rage grew, the more malia got in trouble, the more malia was ignored. by age ten the girl felt like a ghost in her own home, living in the shadow of her perfect, beautiful, older sister alice. no matter what malia did, what sport she joined, what trophy she won, what prize she brought back home to her mother, she still treated her like an invader, like a pest she had to put up with until the girl was finally 18 and she could kick her out.

eventually, malia stopped trying, stopped caring, shut off every emotion, every feeling she ever had towards her mother and turned it all into an apathetic gaze. she hated her mother, she hated her sister, and rather than try to be perfect, rather than rebel, she put herself into the role her mother wanted. she was a guest.

by the time malia was fourteen she was hardly home, spending most of her time at friends’ places, out partying, hanging out with boys way too old for her, doing things with them that were meant for people way too old for her. she didn’t care anymore. she played her role as the ghost in her own home, but she was tired of feeling sad... of feeling numb, and at least they helped her feel.

she figured she’d go through the rest of her life filling the void until she could finally leave… that is until her mom remarried. her step-father was an interesting man, loud and charismatic. boastful, charming, demanding. he took malia and her mother in. he was a man who put her mother in her place for being cruel, for being uncaring… and that was something malia liked… something malia exploited.

it truly didn’t take long for malia to tempt her step-father into sleeping with her, he wasn’t a good man after all… and rather than hide their dirty secret, malia rubbed it in her mother’s face. let her call her a whore. let her call her disgusting. she didn’t care because at least it got her mother noticing her finally.

malia didn’t really care for her step-father, she never really cared about anyone romantically, they were a means to an end, just like he was. but he didn’t like that… he didn’t like malia being with other boys, other girls, and after a while things began to get violent. he was controlling, and abusive, and malia wasn’t the type of girl to put up with it, even with all the traumatic reminders she had to. and her mother? didn’t care to help… even told her she deserved it.

so rather than stay in her cookie cutter home, with her resentful mother and her abusive, disgusting step-father, she decided to leave. she had packed her bags and stolen the keys to her step-fathers range rover, planning to sneak off in the dead of the night without a trace. but of course, things didn’t go as planned.

she had managed to get in the car when her step-father caught her, she can’t completely recall what happened, but she remembered locking the door, she can remember putting the car into reverse, swinging out into the road as he chased after it, and the next thing she remembered was a loud crash, and the sound of the engine revving and the spider web cracks forming on the bloodied windshield as she sped off.

that was two years ago, two years and she still hasn’t even attempted to return home, to call, to figure out if her step-father was okay or not… she’s been living in starlit semi-happily, spending her nights partying and sleeping around just like she had back in arizona, making easy cash by selling herself and selling her art.

she’s the usual culprit for all the graffiti around starlit, an avid fan of street art and a struggling artist, she’s constantly walking around in paint covered clothes with spray cans in tote.

TLDR: so basically malia is a spray can toting sarcastic little smart ass who is an insanely good friend and self-deprecating human being. she sleeps around for fun and for money, spends her nights drunk or high, works off nights at the fremont street experience doing street art. while loyal she can still be selfish, something she doesn’t really mean to be.

WANTED CONNECTIONS:

THE CONFIDANT: the sole person malia trusts. though trust is used lightly. she trusts them enough to talk freely, to share how she feels more than she does with anyone else, the one person she finds herself actively searching for, her only true friend... she’s loyal to them above all else, and she tries not to spoil it, though she figures knowing her it’ll get fucked up in the end.

THE EX: There was a period of time where Malia attempted to love another. though she couldn’t find herself falling into place like they wanted, they were perfect, better than she could’ve asked for, and yet she still found her eyes wandering and after a few mishaps, they found out she was sleeping around, they don’t speak much now but when they do it’s never good.

THE FREQUENT FLYER: Malia tries to keep work from following her home, but after a drunken desperate night for this starlit resident and her, she found herself making an easy twenty bucks for practically nothing, and they’re not bothersome, most of the time the poor soul just wants someone to listen to them talk.

that’s really all I can think of in detail but any sort of plot connection can work with malia, friendships or enemies, people who hate her because she slept with their boyfriend or girlfriend, people she fucked over because they liked her and thought they had something and she just ghosted, whatever your heart wants I am honestly down for.

Noticed you recently were working on world building, lore, etc.. Can you provide any advice or tips for others? I’d consider myself average, I’ve been working on a fantasy project for about 3 years, and recently a science fantasy project. I’m always looking for anything to better my skills, if you’d like to share, of course excluding anything of your original work.

I’m actually an amature world builder. In the past, each of my attempts at world building have ended in spectacular failure as I’ve given up and quit after about a week of work. This is my first attempt at world building where I’ve gotten off the ground and really have put my foot down to force myself to get further and the best I can do for you is to tell you what I’ve been doing that helped me.

Pick one thing. That one thing can be language. Religion. Geography. Culture. Anything! Whatever interests you the most, or you think would be most important to the story you are trying to tell. Develop or start development on that one thing first while ignoring all others. This time around, I started with a pantheon. I knew that religion would play a major part in my story, so I got a vague idea of what I wanted the people of my wold to worship and then built up from there.

Study! While fantasy, inherently, is made up and different from our own world, pulling from the real world and adapting it to better if your own can help make your world feel more believable. Generally speaking, in popular fantasy, this involves pulling inspiration from Medieval Europe. This time around, I made a point to pull from more than the familiar. I’ve been watching documentaries about animal and plant life from all over the world, as well as documentaries and videos about gods from multiple cultures (not just the Greek and Roman) and documentaries about how people lived in different cultures throughout history. I’ve also spent time in museums looking at art from cultures I want to emulate while also researching the types of food that people eat around the world based on what’s locally available. This research (particularly the research that isn’t European based) has helped me come up with what I think are unique and interesting ideas that have helped to bring the people of my world alive.

Diveristy counts. On the same note about reseatch from above, remember that diversity is something that matters, even in a made up world. If you’re writing a world that is so different from our own that cultures and races as we know them don’t exists, this may not be as big as an issue in that department (though gender, sexuality, and differently abled bodies should still be considered). But, if your world at all resembles our own, keep in mind that our world is rich in diverse and interesting cultures. The last thing you want is to be a JK Rowling. Her tweet about how Hermione could be black is a perfect example of what you do NOT want to do. Because Rowling never specified skin color, yes, Hermione could potentially be black, but the majority of readers simply pictured her the same way most other fictional characters are described - as white.

Pintrest it. As silly as this sounds, I’ve been using pintrest to help me organize my thoughts for my fantasy worlds and for characters. Particularly using it for character development has been incredibly helpful for me in the past few months. If you struggle to keep your characters consistent or to focus on an aesthetic for your world, I’ve found it to be really helpful to have a visual board to go back to as a reference, rather than just my own physical notes. If you’re like me and haven’t an ounce of artistic tallent, this also is useful if you prefer to reference visuals but don’t have the tallent to draw it out.

Talk about it. Seriously. Find someone who is interested in world building and run ideas by them. Having a sound board has been especially helpful for me during my map drawing process. I really struggle with scale and numbers, and having friends look at it and urge me in the right direction has helped me build a physical world that I love.

Google translate! If you’re like me, you struggle to name things. Naming is my number one weakness in all stories, and in the past it’s caused so much frustration that I’ve abandoned projects. When I built my pantheon, I was charged with the challenge of naming over 30 gods. For this process I hopped into google translate and picked a handful of languages that I liked (Albanian, Croatian, Italian, and Dutch, for example) and made all the names loosely based on words that I translated from those languages. I try to stick to the same handful of languages without straying too far off, because you likely want to keep a consistent sound for the same culture.

That’s about all I can think of off the top of my head. I don’t know if this helps you at all, seeing as you mentioned you’ve been working on a project for 3 years now, but perhaps this will help someone who’s only just gotten started!

Then I remember it's been three years. After all this time... I don't know if you'd forgive me. I don't know if I would let you.

It's been hell without you. My life, and all of the things I've depended on, mainly myself, have fallen apart. I miss you so much. I need you so much. You were truly my soulmate, you are the only one who's seen my soul. It's hard to live now, without a person like that.

You've become my muse recently. At least, who I think you are. Or hope you are. I draw you, I make playlists about you. You have an aesthetic board on my Pintrest. It's kind of like having an imaginary friend, except much more creepy.

I just can't seem to live without you. So I've reinvented you, since it's as close as I'll be able to get to you.

Plus, I think, deep down, I'm saddened by what you've become. Like it's my place to have an opinion on it, ha. I just know why you are how you are now. It's your brand of survival. I take a lot of responsibility. I left you. Maybe, if I hadn't, you wouldn't have had to choose the path you're on now. So, to make up for it, I've placed you in a new universe, my own, and draw you as you should be: happy and free to be the person I knew.

Hola~ It’s Amie. You might also know me as that WIK admin who deals with activity and hiatus pages. Or you may know me as Rodolphus Lestrange, or Walden Macnair, or Sybill Trelawney. The way to my heart is tag yourself memes, if I’m being honest so please share all of them with me. Anyway I’m super pumped to get to know you guys better and read all your surveys!! Morning or night person? Night person. Although not so much by choice anymore? Like don’t get me wrong, I’m not a morning person by any standards and I think it’s criminal to be awake before 9 a.m. – but most of my being a night person comes from the fact that I close at work like 90% of the time. So, like while I’m not a morning person, it’d be super cool to interact with people before it’s super late. I guess I’m an afternoon person. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Favorite pizza topping? P I N E A P P L E. Yes, it does belong on pizza. Yes, I will argue with you about it until the day I die. But to quote Dream Daddy, where it was put best, “I respect your opinion, and I will fight with my life for your right to say it. But where’s your sense of adventure? Where’s your sense of taste? Why won’t you love yourself?”

Your zodiac sign? Aries. Though I am a cusp sign so like, Aries/Taurus. But like when it comes down to it, Aries, 110%. And I’m sorry about that. (Like not really sorry, but you get me)

Your Hogwarts house? Ravenclaw. Though the last time I took the pottermore quiz it got to the end and was like ‘okay but do you think you are more Ravenclaw or Slytherin?’ So I guess I walk a fine line between them.

Do you like a lot of ice in your drinks or a little? As little as possible, to none. I hate watered down drinks. Plus the more ice you have the less room you have for like actual drink so no thanks.

What song is the one song you know every word to without thinking about it? Like 80% of the Hamilton soundtrack. But also 100% Wannabe by Spice Girls. I went bowling with my friends recently, and Wannabe came on...it was almost embarrassing how quickly I started dancing and I sung the entire song without missing a beat.

Too hot or too cold? Too cold. I can always find more blankets, and sweaters, and heaters. I can not walk around naked in public or peel off my skin if it’s too hot, so hard pass. Plus who likes to sweat? No one.

If you had to pick a fictional universe to live in, other than Harry Potter, what would you pick? Star Trek. While Dragon Age would be a close second, gotta be Star Trek. I would sign up for Starfleet tomorrow if they’d let me.

Coffee or Tea? Both. Hot tea with honey, Sweet Tea – Southern sweet tea, Iced Coffee, PSLs, Hot Coffee. Like I’ll take it all please and thank you.

Cold Pizza for Breakfast or Breakfast for Dinner? Breakfast for dinner. I will always eat pancakes. Always. Or biscuits and gravy. Or an amazing steak and egg breakfast. Listen, I work at Cracker Barrel okay I’m always surrounded by amazing breakfast food and I love it all. And while it’s good in the morning, there’s something much more satisfying about having it after noon.

What’s your aesthetic? (have fun with this, be it just answering a picspam, a pintrest board go nuts) I have a pinterest board for that... but see also: Stacks of video games, concert ticket stubs, band t-shirts, mismatched socks, forgotten mugs of hot tea, & brightly colored vans.

If you encountered a boggart what form would it take? Darkness. Commitment. GETTING MARRIED IN A COMPLETELY BLACKED OUT ROOM WITHOUT EVER HAVING PAID OUT MY STUDENT LOANS THUS DYING IN DEBT. Listen I know that’s extra and probably too deep and idk how a boggart would pull it off but like that’s what it’d be. See also: Spiders.

What Hogwarts subject do you think you’d excel at? Arithmancy. I like numbers. I wish I was cooler, but I’m not.

Butterbeer or Firewhiskey? Firewhiskey probably. Though having had butterbeer at WWoHP, that stuff is amazing and I’m kinda glad they don’t sell it by the bottle because I would be diabetic in a month.

With which fictional character do you feel you most identify? Chandler Bing probably. As I too am uncomfortable with emotions, and make jokes and sarcastic comments to cope, and am no good with giving advice. However, most recently, Finn Wolfhard’s portrayal of Richie Tozier in IT. I’ve seen the movie twice now, and the entire time I was like #relatable and my friend I went with was like ‘hey, you’re that kid and I’m the kid with the fanny pack’.

With which character from War is Kind do you feel most identify? I feel like I shouldn’t pick one of my own characters for this, but honestly Sybill. Because like, she does have a load of insecurities, but she doesn’t let them stop her. And she’s struggled to find a job doing what she really wants to do because no one take her seriously and honestly RELATABLE. I mean I’m not quite the party girl and little stoner that she is, but there are just so many things that like I’ve seen with her in my head, and I can’t wait for you guys to see, that make me choose her.

Do you listen to anything when you write?

I can't listen to music with words because it distracts me. I will either write in silence, or what I do enjoy is ASMR rooms that match the setting I'm writing my character in, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=977_PCBxaYY

Failing that, I will listen to classical music.

What is your preferred post length?

Honestly, I'm flexible. It depends what kind of thread it is and how I'm feeling. But I'm happiest in the 250-1200 word range.

What most commonly distracts you when writing?

Oh god. So many things. I usually chat with people so will get distracted by IMs. My dog distracts me. I get distracted googling words I want to use in my post, looking up details for my post to ensure they're accurate. I get distracted by Youtube videos. Phone calls (why do people always call me when I'm writing?). I get distracted when I get an ask. Everything. Distracts. Me. Send. Help.

Do you go through phases of having more muse for some characters/blogs than others? What are your current favourites?

Yes yes. My muse for different characters fluctuates all the time. My favourites alternate. I find it is often linked to my mood and how much I'm into the threads I have for those characters. My Bill Cipher muse is suffering the most right now. My strongest two muses currently are Moon Butterfly and Wargrin.

Do you take asks? Do you enjoy them? Mutuals or Anons or both?

I love asks, sentence starters, whatever. Spam the hell outta me. Anon, mutual, go for it.

RP memes?

Yes. Always.

How important is a blog's aesthetic to you?

The most important thing to me is less the appearance of a blog and more the writing skill of the person running it. However, I do enjoy nice aesthetic posts to flesh out the blog's vibe- I don't like to see a lot of spam on my dash though, so I like it spread out. Also I can't STAND blogs that edit the format so much that the text is tiny and navigating is hard. I instantly click off them. Please no. Also blogs that autoplay music when I click on them is a huge pet peeve of mine.

Do you encourage people to approach you as new writing partners or are you more exclusive?

I encourage people to approach me for plots. I'm pretty open-minded so long as people have read my rules and have a relatively compatible writing style with my own.

What is the most important thing you look for in a writing partner?

Writing style. Holy hells. This. A good plot, but if nothing else I really value a partner who can write well.

How do you connect with your favourite plots and threads? Do you draw fanart, pintrest boards, moodboards, playlists?

Mostly drawing fanart and making playlists, but I sometimes dip into the realm of moodboards.

Do you enjoy chatting with RP partners outside of writing?

YES. I have made the most awesome friends that I have gone on to meet in real life doing this. 10/10

Where do you feel most comfortable writing?

On my laptop at a desk. This is my ideal scenario. I do, however, write posts on my ipad when I am travelling and on long flights, but I can't format or post them from there so it's mostly a time killer.

OKAY I AM ALSO FUCKING SICK OF PINTREST FUCKING WITH ITSELF. it's like every other day of the week shit changes around for no reason whatsoever and stuff stops working or barely works or runs really slowly. both the app and the site itself are driving me insane, and making it hard for me to sort out the boards i use for character development or story aesthetics ect.

THANK YOU!!! yes lmao i love how they release a new update every 2 weeks or whatever to “polish things up” except it really means “we’re goign to find something else to fuck up” like omg they literally have no idea how to run their site or their app and how to give their users what they really want and need??? i abolsutely love the concept of the site but it’s slowly driving me away...

jokes on u ssv i dont have ocs just dumb fan characters. well. i guess technically i have 2 completely original ocs but i havent done anything with them in years and forget they exist.

the fan ocs that get my most love to this day are my fantrolls and rpg/dnd characters. (the rest are for misc things that i hyperfocused on back in high school (like 9, httyd, kh, pjo, etc)). My charahub is here and my toyhouse is here. both are pretty empty but it has the basics. (i rlly need to put more on my toyhouse bye. like grant) if ur curious abt any of them hmu? and i can tell u more.

As for aesthetics. i really like the desert. i really like the aesthetics that come with the desert, and i really enjoy making characters that live in those environments. like my fantrolls. they live in the desert. i think i like the determination and ingenuity needed to live in a place like that? idk. but i really like beaches and forests too. If i had to summarize my aesthetic in one word it’d be “warm.” warm and bright and cozy. things like sunsets. orange. stars and lanterns. bright summer sunflowers. dogs. i have an aesthetic tag and also an aesthetic board on pintrest if u wanna browse

Hey Lux!! I’m a small writeblr, and I need some advice; I can’t figure out how to do a nice looking wip page (html, more like htm-hell), or have the right applications on my laptop to do nice mood-boards. In general, I don’t really know how to do the quintessential aesthetic writeblr stuff. I feel like because I have no visuals or fancy stuff, or anything like that, I’m not going to be able to get my blog off the ground. What do I do?

Obligatory Warning That I Have No Idea What I’m Doing, Ever.

So, I’m also a lazy person, so I’m going to link you to @nicholewrites‘s tutorial here, because I could never top it anyway. That’s the technical stuff, anyway. Look up wip page codes on tumblr and you’ll find lotsa people who code that sort of thing and find the one that works for u.

As for moodboards, which I Have Some Idea About:

I don’t use my laptop unless im doing the book cover type aesthetics, and for that I use canva and pintrest. For my other aesthetics, I use pixlr on my phone and pintrest, and i’ve never figured out how to use the laptop version of the app. Canva doesn’t require you download an app, and pixlr is free and can be used on ur phone!!

Now, if you still can’t do the things, for one reason or another, I’m also here to tell u some very important advice:

Fuck. It.

Sure they help, they’re flashy and easy too look at, but ya don’t need it, I promise. I partly do moodboards for the validation, but I’d still do it even if I didn’t cus I just fuckin love doing the matchy color thing. You shouldn’t stress yourself over it. If you can’t do the WIP page coding, fuck it. Make a post with the same basic info and use that as your “wip page.” Makes it reblogable anyway lmao. Not good with aesthetics/unable to make aesthetics for technical reasons? So? Fuck it, keep talking about your wips. Maybe keep the posts small in the beginning? To make it easily digestible until you have a larger follower count.

And listen, getting your blog “off the ground” may take fuckin time, my friend. I didn’t start getting followers until last fall, practically, maaybe that summer, and I’d had this blog since my junior year of high school. Give yourself some time, and have fun, okay?
