This might seem like it’s coming out of left field, but I’m gonna say it anyway because it’s something that’s been in the back of my mind for actual years…
I feel like a good number of Choices fans on Tumblr specifically have this weird sense of hero-worship for Andrew Shvarts because he had a major hand in two of the most popular series (Blades and BB), because he can use basic symbolism, and because he is at least mildly aware that writers should be critical in both creating and consuming. And due to that, those particular fans think that anything he puts out is like the most groundbreaking thing to exist and is above criticism when it comes to the underlying messages. However, that could not be further from the truth. And I think it’s funny how those fans praise him for that last point about being critical when they clearly haven’t completely grasped what that means

the thing that fucks me up about rereading instructions for dancing is trying to pinpoint when it is that derek becomes obsessed with stiles and realizing the answer seems to be always. from the beginning. the moment they met. that poor bastard. he probably should have tried to be a little nicer about it, though, saved them both some hardship.
I think it slides so quickly from fear and annoyance that Stiles will steal Scott away to 'Oh no, oh fuck,' I'm not even sure Derek knows himself. Poor guy hamstrung himself by starting out with the 'I'm going to scare him away' mentality then wondering where the hell that went and trying to find it again through almost every subsequent interaction (while something so much bigger and so much worse - Derek's Thoughts™ - completely eclipsed it). Meanwhile Stiles also helps cultivate Derek's dickish-ness by assuming that original motivation to be his only interest in him at all, essentially until the moment Derek tells him he's in love with him.
Which is hopefully why it seemingly comes out of left field for Stiles and the reader, because that's what I wanted.

do any of you also think that this peak late 2010s-2020s culture of packaging EVERYTHING into neat little easily consumable boxes of microaesthetics is also seeping into the music industry or am i just thinking too much

with that being said the whole "an average person finds themselves among a bunch of ultra rich out of touch fucks" genre is started to get a bit tired. it was fun while it lasted but i hope we get a rest from it in a while

A whole episode later and It is still so wacky wild to me that neither of the strong boys were given so much as a slap on the wrist for mutilating aemond. Not even a verbal condemnation. Nothing. Like did rhaenrya even flinch when she saw the gash in his face?? No wonder he’s still pissed i would be too man.
mmm yeah there would never have been a "real" or equivalent punishment (unless larys had his way lmfaooo) but not even a single word in his defense from anyone but alicent...yeah I'd grow up to be a psychopath too

CHIBNALL MMAY HAVE ACCIDENTALLY CONFIRMED TEGANxNYSSA.
BECAUSE.
Tegan mentions she has an adopted son.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but right now (in terms of so far in canon) Tegan doesn't have any children, biological or adopted.
She doesn't specify that he's human, nor on Earth.
But Nyssa.
Nyssa had a son and a daughter.
So... If Tegan had adopted Neeka and Adric...
And Adric (Traken) was her adopted son...
THEN TYSSA WOULD BE CANON.
BOOM.
Oh and also the reference to Adric made me cry.

I thought there was something to idea of the TMZ reporter being a cyclops who calls himself Nobody and gets killed in an act of hubris, but actually him getting told by Em Haywood, “Your loss, nobody.” and the fact that he’s an heir to the Muybridge name whose personhood is reduced to the status of a camera is way more narratively powerful
