Bluey should be proof to all companies making cartoons that you CAN talk about the hard shit in a kids show. I get so upset at some of these remakes and reboots and shitty continuations *cough MLP Gen 5 *cough* where things are watered down or not even talked about, while I grew up with cartoons that weren’t just entertaining, but were made more relatable because they talked about the hard shit. Friends have disagreements. People will come and go out of your life. Grief. Jealousy. Anger. Sadness. Anxiety. Self-reflection. Hope. Forgiveness. Life isn’t all bubblegum shenanigans and fun, but it’s also not all doom and gloom.

Life is hard. Life is beautiful. And I think it’s okay (if not necessary) to teach kids that in a way they can understand.
