Since I am super sick with 101.4 fever I want to write about how each BG3 companion reacts to being sick!
Astarion: Constant complaints/whining. He is totally convinced that he will die of his illness and makes it everyone else's problem. Lays against the pillows on his bed like a tragic victorian heroine who won't last the night. If you ever read Howl's Moving Castle, it's that just somehow more melodramatic. Will calm down if romanced Tav snuggles him.
Gale: Doesn't want you to put up too much of a fuss. "I don't want to be a bother, but could I get some fever reducer please? The room is actively moving." Aware that he is sick, but that it's nothing serious and just needs rest, some medicine and fluids.
Karlach: Lays prone in her bed to the point that you have to come close to her to see if she is actually alive. Which makes you fall into the trap that sick Karlach grabs anything or anyone near her and holds it like a teddy bear and doesn't let go. This also gets you sick as well.
Wyll: Less dramatic than Astarion, but defiantly pitiful. Looks miserable, sounds miserable and just wants to wrap up in something soft and forget the world exists until his head stops aching.
Shadowheart: Hates being sick like REALLY HATES being sick. Gets really cranky, like you have to let her know BEFORE touching her cup that you are getting her more tea, or you will be stabbed.
Lae'zel: What illness? Unless she is half dizzy with fever she will deny it. Fever's make her kinda silly and goofy tho.
Jaheria: Denies she is sick until you find her passed out with her head on her desk, and you have to have Karlach help you get her to bed.
Minsc: Somehow doesn't get sick a lot. When he does, he goes straight to Jaheria for help.
Halsin: Less control over wild shape, feels guilty whenever you take care of him. Tries to tell you he's fine between coughing fits.
Minthara: Thinks she was poisoned at first, then starts plotting revenge on who got her sick in the first place.

I have no issue with Wyll as a character at all, I really like having him around, but man, mechanically? he has a way of bugging me sometimes.
One thing is that he's kinda bugged? So he's been yelling an exclamation point at me for like two in-game days now, and after thinking about it, I figured it's likely because there's more than one opportunity to find out about his dad's location. There was a letter I found (then read, then sold accidentally) about this during the Mountain Pass encounter (and he wasn't in the party so nothing triggered right then), but since I ALREADY KNEW THAT and triggered the dialogue previously, it got stuck. So now he just really wants to tell me about his dad again, but when I ask, he has nothing new to say, and the marker stays. All the time. I doubt it'll go away until we actually find the guy.
And the other is that this boy is not proficient in ANYTHING USEFUL TO ME. He's been wearing Minthara's spidersilk armor and using a shitty common sword with a basic shield since fairly early in the goblin camp, because despite us having just so much cool shit that I can't even really sell it (literally vendors don't have enough gold), he just... can't seem to be able to use anything I'm not already using on a companion I take with me more frequently.
Swords? Nyope, not proficient in martial weapons.
Okay, what about this cool rapier that Astarion is done using? I said nyoooooo! It's heavyyyyyyy! I don't like iiiiiit!
This enchanted armor? Nyope, light armor only pleeeeeeeeease! Otherwise I can't cast my silly little spells!
Not even this dope helmet that looks really sick on you? Nyoooooo, it's heavyyyyyyy, it hurts my widdle hooooooorns.
What a frustrating, Disney prince-ass mf. LET ME KEEP YOU FROM DYING, YA BUTT.
(and ofc his approval bar is also bugged, I've not seen it once, so that's great too.)

Hello today!
I don't really know what prompted me to start writing here but I already pressed the button and it's too late to stop now.
So, I've recently beaten Baldur's Gate 3 and I gotta say it's such a fantastic videogame. I'd say it's one of the most pure video games out there where whatever you think you wanna do the game lets you (within reason). It keeps up with the spirit of tabletop RPGS which is honestly a breath of fresh air when it comes to this stuff.
While obviously it's like a silly video game where you click around and kill things, the freedom you get within that system is actually insane. I'm playing on a custom difficulty but everything is on balanced but I turned off all of the numbers for the rolls and passive checks so I'm in the blind. The only real thing I have control over is my brain and it's inability to fully wrap my head around the freedom I'm given.
When I get around to doing a new game, I'll probably go for either the step up from balanced or straight into Honor Mode just because I felt that my first playthrough was just scratching the surface of what's possible.
You have no idea how many bosses and encounters I've nullfied by lugging around enough explosives to level a whole continent in my pockets. It's honestly very funny and rewarding whenever the big bad walks up to my party and just explodes.
In terms of my character, I went for a talk-y high charisma character because I just wanted to see how far I can go by just saying "hey man" and passing the check. It was actually kinda fun because my main character did zero damage the entire game so I really had to stretch my brain muscles to make up for that in strategy. I'd like to imagine we beat the big bad by having everyone else kill while my bard was yodeling in the background.
My team was composed of the girls because:
Shadowheart and Lae'zel had the most interesting character stories to me and I wanted to see all of it with them.
Karlach.
I didn't multi-class any of them because I'm BLIND and I didn't see the little button that lets me do it. I hit level 10 around the patch that made it more visible so I just felt like it was too late.
Ironically, the game stops at level 12 which was interesting and there were a lot of quests and enemies to kill beyond that level cap so there would be room to multi-class and really do some stupid stuff.
The story, while a bit simple compared to other RPGs I've played, was still pretty engaging with all the idiots running around doing things.
===========SPOILERS===========
I think a few stand-out moments was successfully calling out the Emperor frame 1 of him appearing and just not listening to him the entire game. I actually messed up a bit and made the dream person look a bit too much like Minthara so whenever the idiot dream person showed up I just got very confused.
A few of my favorite moments include:
Asking Withers to tell me what the hell is going on and getting "No." as a reply.
Lae'zel being an edgelord tsun tsun the entire game.
Getting away with selling a child for money and getting called out for it later by Orpheus. (HE WAS GONNA DIE IF I DIDN'T DO IT SO MIGHT AS WELL GET PAID)
Escaping the goblin camp with only the main targets killed, going elsewhere to do some stupid things and teleporting INTO the goblin camp then killing all of them anyway.
Figuring out that torches help in act 2 because it took me way too long to know.
The Moonrise Tower prison break and doing it flawlessly.
Beating the Act 2 boss in like 2 seconds along with every boss where I just told them to do the deed themselves.
Walking into Act 3 and just getting my ass blasted by how dense the game gets. I feel like every 2 seconds there's a sidequest that takes 2 hours to complete.
The circus and how nochalant we had to get Dribbles back together. (poor guy can't catch a break)
Entering rapture and getting everyone out. (there's more to explore there but I couldn't do it huhu)
The final boss for Shadowheart's personal quest turning into red mist after igniting my bombs.
Raphael's boss fight being actually difficult because I stacked too much holy damage on Shadowheart and me failing every disable spell roll in the game.
The Dark Urge 1v1 on a non-combat focused character and winning because of explosions.
Caving in the Emperor's skull in without even letting him move on the first turn of the final fight.
========END OF SPOILERS========
There's so much more I want to talk about and many more I've simply forgotten because the game is freaking 130 hours long. I've played Persona 5 Royal and that took me 160 but this game is SO MUCH MORE DENSE with content that every minute spent is doing something important.
It was really fun and I genuinely had a great time. I very much look forward to another run when I can bring myself to sit down and do it all over again. Next time I'll do Dark Urge but I actually kill everyone in the stupidest ways possible as a gag.
Anyway, I love this game and you should play it.
(LET'S GO KARLACH)

The Dark Urge : Act II
Continuing my ramble, this time about Act II, which will get a bit messy, because I will try to cobble together two different save-paths.
Tumblr media
Since I was doing the Minthara route, I went with Karniss and the Absolute army to Moonrise Towers and killed the Harpers. Basically I was on the antagonist side during the ambush.
Then we get Minthara scene at Moonrise:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I influenced the ogre lady to be nicer to Minthara, so Ketheric sent her to the prison without too much of a fuss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I expected a Durge lore moment, but Ketheric didn't acknowledge me, maybe it's because it clashed with Minthara's scene, maybe because I chose the wrong dialogue options. Oh well! Or maybe Ketheric did acknowledge me but I just didn't catch it.
I freed Minthara from the prison, snuck out with her (by feeding her an invisibility potion Volo style) and then recruited her. Sadly couldn't keep her around since the NPCs would aggro on her, so I kept Lae'zel around for exploration's sake.
Tumblr media
I had yet to friendzone Astarion so the game showed me this option, but I decided to distract the ogre lady with my violent durge thoughts. She accepted such a distraction.
Now a bunch of random stuff:
Tumblr media
I caught Korilla sneaking in the bushes.
Tumblr media
Gale on Minthara after I recruited her... It's funny how nice he is about her, meanwhile Minthara can't stand Gale and/or wizards (and/or wizard males) and literally the only time she says something nice to you is if you play as Gale origin. xD Poor Galey~
Tumblr media
Biricest intermission. I love how the "Dream Guardian tries to seduce you" plotline kinda sorta still exists but it is never directly addressed, at least not until the Emperor reveal I'd say. Yeah, Dream Guardian has a sexy outfit now but they and durge/tav are just chilling and talking about the importance of fighting the Absolute.
Tumblr media
I mostly ignored Raphael in my durge run, as I had planned to dominate the brain and had no need for the Orphic Hammer. Astarion, however, needed his services so we made a deal (and I killed Yurgir's sorry ass).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I finally managed to friendzone Astarion which was the sweetest and most wholesome moment in an otherwise grim playthrough.
Honestly, I love this silly vampire but I love him as a friend. I love the idea of slowly morphing him into a better person (as much as possible). Ironically on durge this seems very sinister in hindsight... We become friends and then I enable him to ascend to Vampire Lord status. It is what it is. Don't make friends with murdermonsters, folks!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is where my saves differ - initially I ignored Last Light, went to Shar's Gauntlet, made Shadowheart kill Nightsong and then Isobel got murked with the rest.
However, this path made me lose Jaheira as well, whom I want for diabolical reasons in Act 3.
So I went back and murked Isobel with my own two hands.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then I lied to Jaheira. <3 Sorry, grandma, I love you but durge does not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Playing with my butler, nothing to see here!
Tumblr media
After murking Isobel, I fulfilled Shadowheart's destiny and now she is a Dark Justiciar.
Tumblr media
Cheeky Astarion intermission.
While messing around in Moonrise Towers I found... the Wall Meat.
Tumblr media
Sticking hands in strange holes is something one simply does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Turns out this is a durge lore dump and the first time you're established as the most specialest guy. I'm loving it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then (after fighting Ketheric and dropping down in the Mindflayer colony) we met creepy necromancer lady, whom we also sent to the other side. I don't want to be experimented on, not anymore!
[and this is where I cut the post short due to 30 image limit]
