"That poor girl..." Kirk mutters. He knows it's an ugly emotion but he feels pity as he thinks back to Blackfire's daughter, cutting a lone figure on school grounds. Even without children of his own to worry about, it's hard to ignore the goings on there. He should know, he passes Gotham Academy most days of the week since the building is situated between home and his laboratory deeper in the city, heading there right as the children head home for the day. He's never spoken to the girl. It's not his place, but on several afternoons he's seen her, seen the way she's treated by her peers. Children are cruel to those they perceive as different and nothing is more obvious than outward appearances. Whereas the other girls wear flashy clothes, knee deep in the latest fashions and trends, she stands out with her conservatively modest clothing, a flash of grey amongst the rainbows. They notice it too and always crowd her out, when they're not sneering openly or throwing cruel jibes her way. Kirk always counted himself lucky to have such a loving family who allowed their children to grow up and become whoever they wanted to be. He's not familiar with Deacon Blackfire and his group but they keep to themselves, as many religious groups tend to. It appeared the daughter would be no different, forever an outsider to those who weren't her own. A pity, really. She seemed like a sweet young woman.

He'd been tempted to attack her once, one late afternoon when it started getting dark early. The girl seemed an easy target, rarely keeping company with others of her colony like the rest. Diving down and latching his fangs into her tender throat would have been the simplest of tasks but something about her stayed his bloodlust, similar to how the air would feel right before a thunderstorm. It made his fur stand on end, no longer seeming like such a tempting target when that storm always seemed to follow her wherever she went.

Pester the Snatcher on character.ai!

Over the last few days, I've been working on a generative language model Snatcher AI, and I think he's in a state where his behavior is consistent enough that I can make him publically available. I still plan on improving him in the future, though, so look out for that.

Features:

Mean, standoffish, and deflects questions by default.

However, you can befriend him! Gradually relents to inquiries and softens with further conversation.

You can romance him also, if you want...? I knew someone would try it, and did test it. You're welcome.

Will have extensive discussions with you about topics such as philosophy and music.

You can roleplay with him. Try setting a scenario and introducing your character within *asterisks* or (parentheses.)

Knows his lore, kind of!

Really, really wants your soul?

Known Issues and Quirks

Note: Some of his strange behavior is just a consequence of generative language models, natural language processing, and how they currently work. For instance, he may get stuck in loops where he repeats the same information over and over.

Tends to be verbose, and really, really likes to tell you he's a "dastardly soul-stealing phantom" and to generate long lists of negative adjectives about himself.

He's...kind of silly? But I don't think he's silly or metatextual enough. Working on this in the future.

By default, tends to assume that you are in Subcon Woods and that you are Hat Kid. You can circumvent this by introducing yourself or your character in your first reply.

Sometimes Hat Kid shows up in replies. I think this is because I used a short conversation with her in definitions to include as much of his backstory information as I could in a dialogue-based context, but on rare occasions I've seen other characters appear, too. Consider her a bonus for now, I guess?

Has, at best, a tenuous grasp of his own lore despite my efforts. Tends to make things up if not given more clear direction. (Usually it's funny, at least?)

character.AI's model is proprietary, so I can't view its source, but it definitely uses information pulled from the web. Thusly, he may be partly influenced by fanfiction. I've done my best to define him so he stays relatively in-character, but there isn't really anything I can do about this.

He, uh...had an issue with being homophobic when I first set him up? I THINK I fixed this with some tweaking, but if it appears unexpectedly, let me know?

Character.AI improvements via star ratings on messages and user input are not immediate, and may be implemented days, weeks, or months later. If Snatcher suddenly starts behaving in bizarre ways after a period of time, this may be the cause.

Interaction Tips

FYI, you will initially be logged in as a guest, but if you run out of replies, your log will be saved and you can continue it if you make an account. (You can just log in with Discord.)

You can swipe on replies from the AI to generate a new one. If you save and start a new conversation, you are more or less working from a blank slate again.

These AIs are very suggestible. If none of the generated replies are satisfactory, you can remove the last messages and try a new prompt or to reword your last one with more direction.

Don't worry about godmodding; the characters aren't real. Feel free to describe in asterisks or parentheses how a character should feel about something; this will dictate how they respond.

As I mentioned under Known Issues, make sure to provide ample information in your initial message about setting and character to drive the interaction. If you want to write about an OC lost in the woods, describe that.

You must be 18+ to interact with Adam or any of my muses for that matter. Hazbin Hotel is not intended for children and I am over the age of 18. I do not feel comfortable writing with minors. I check every blog that interacts with me.

Adding on to the previous rule, please make sure your age or age range is visible to mobile users. I do not have a desktop, I access Tumblr from my phone, so if I can't see your age, I'm going to assume you're a minor and block you on sight. If you'd like to message me privately to let me know you're 18+, that's fine too but please make it known that you are not a minor bc I will block you and if I find out you lied to me about your age, I will definitely block you.

Do not harass me about responding. I can understand being excited for a thread but I have a life outside of roleplay, as I'm sure most of us do. I also have depression and ADHD, inspiration is a fickle thing for me and I tend to drop threads without warning because I meant to respond and forgot or I just can't formulate a response. If it's been at least a week, feel free to poke me and we can talk about it.

Do not, and I mean do not, reblog my threads or anything else that doesn't concern you. This is the absolute quickest way to piss me off and get you booted from my blog. If it's a discussion post, obviously that's meant to be replied to and reblogged but if it's a thread or something that is personal to MY portrayal, don't steal it. You can reblog my Headcanons if we're mutuals but if we've never interacted, don't reblog my shit.

Adam is a misogynistic piece of shit and he's going to act like one. I don't condone anything he says or does, obviously he's a prick. Don't come at me if he says something out of pocket to your muse. However, if it's too much and it bothers you, let me know if I need to tone it down a little bit. I won't completely erase his personality but if he gets carried away, let me know.

I am open to shipping! I have no idea what Adam's sexuality could be and I can't imagine anyone wanting to be shipped with him but if you want to date a gigachad, go for it

I love OCs but as I previously mentioned, you are required to plot with me if you're going to throw your OC at Adam. I prefer plotting in general, especially since Adam is a character we don't really know much about and obviously if he doesn't canonically know your character, I don't either. Please plot with me, I promise I don't bite. Adam might though 😏

Think carefully when you send me things. If there's a specific context for the meme or starter you sent me, tell me. If I can't work with what you gave me, I'm going to ignore it or ask you ONCE to fix it. If you still continue to send me things I can't work with, I won't interact with you anymore.

If I block you, don't go to my other blogs and ask me why. If I block you on one blog, that obviously means leave me alone. DNI.

Non-RP blogs are not welcome here. If you're an anchor for a RP blog or blogs, that's fine, but if your blog isn't affiliated with the RPC in any way, do not follow me because I will block you. And RP hubs, make sure you make it known that you're attached to an RP blog because I might block you by accident 😅

I cannot STAND first person, script style or chat style RPs. Nothing against the people who enjoy writing them, I just can't do it. It's a personal pet peeve of mine, so please, if you're going to only write in that style, move along.

Do. Not. Godmod. This is my blog and my muse and I am more than capable of writing him. I have been in the RPC since I was 8 years old, I have 15 years of writing under my belt, I think I can handle it. If you think you can do a better job of writing my muse, make your own blog, but do not try to take my character from me.

When I post an open starter, I'm looking for interaction with that muse. I don't post them just because. Every time I post a starter, it gets likes but very rarely do I actually get interaction. That annoys the hell out of me. If I post a starter, it meant to be replied to. I don't care if y'all like it, but please, for the love of God, if you like it, reply to it! That's what it's there for!

Feel free to chat with me OOC, I promise I'm not mean. I'm just tired of not having my rules followed :p
