I'm watching the hobbit again and it is exactly as confusing as i remember. The movies have a whopping 9 hours in total, for a book a third the length of lord of the rings. The emotions are confusing and honestly not as well done as in the book. Everyone has a scottish accent for some reason except the main characters (Gandalf, Thorin and Bilbo) (not that I don't love scottish accents but the fact that Thorin doesn't have one???? But the trolls somehow have one?). I understand why people ship Thorin and Bilbo because Thorin is presented exactly like the hot angsty love interest and Bilbo is the main character and also a damsel in distress quite often. The cgi of the bad guys looks about as good as the yassified marvel she hulk (specifically the trolls and the one ork that killed thain). Also one has to look at fucking Martin Freeman. The best part is seeing Gandalf a lot and the design of the dwarf clothes, one of the only detailed set/character designs as well as the music (Howard Shore my beloved). The references to lotr are also welcome, however done with absolutely no subtlety. I did love Radagast who unfortunately was barely in the book.

The brownstone fronts of row houses have been a characteristic feature of New York’s residential architecture since the mid-19th century. The material’s popularity was partly due to its availability locally from quarries in New Jersey and Connecticut. New Yorkers also appreciated the warm colors and smooth, stately appearance of the stone, which brought a Romantic quality to the city streets.
