Can you do a mikosaru au but instead of colorless king killing totsuka, he kill fushimi. It's up to you wether its homra!shimi or s4!shimi. How'd you reckon mikoto will react? Or other kings? Especially muna if its s4!shimi

I feel like I’ve done one of these in the past where Fushimi was in S4 so let’s go for Homra Fushimi situation (also I feel like even in a Mikosaru situation if Fushimi’s in S4  when he gets killed by Colorless Mikoto would let Munakata handle things his way and mostly stay on the sidelines, like even if he and Fushimi are in relationship he recognizes that this is a S4 matter). Say AU where Fushimi never left Homra, he’s still dissatisfied and not particularly close with anyone beyond his strained relationship with Yata. He is however in a relationship with Mikoto though he won’t admit it, as far as Fushimi is concerned they have nothing to do with each other besides King and clansman and you know maybe they kiss sometimes. Mikoto goes along with it for Fushimi’s sake but he still makes it pretty clear in his own way that the two of them are together. Yata hasn’t really figured it out but some of the other clansmen have their suspicions and of course Kusanagi and Totsuka know.

So then for whatever reason Fushimi ends up being the one to go up on that rooftop, maybe Totsuka wasn’t feeling well and was lamenting that he couldn’t take a video for Anna. He doesn’t ask Fushimi to do it in his stead but Fushimi kinda sighs and ends up taking the video camera as Mikoto gives him this slight grin. Fushimi rolls his eyes and clicks his tongue but heads up to the rooftop anyway. I imagine he would give Colorless at least slightly more fight, probably on his guard the moment he sees this weird stranger on the roof, but he doesn’t expect the gun and he’s shot before he can even throw a single knife. As Fushimi’s lying on the roof he almost calls Yata but then changes his mind and calls Mikoto instead. Imagine Mikoto answering the phone all lazily but then he hears Fushimi’s faint voice all ‘I’m such an idiot…’. Mikoto sits up straighter and asks Fushimi what happened but Fushimi can barely respond, just saying Mikoto’s name and then the call ends.

Kusanagi and Yata dash up to the roof like in canon (though now with extra pain because imagine poor Yata with Fushimi dying in his arms, he’d be even more of a mess). Totsuka stays back with Mikoto and they both see Anna come downstairs with her crushed marble, she takes Mikoto’s hand as she says ‘Saruhiko’ and Mikoto just gives this heavy sigh. In the aftermath I think Mikoto would still likely take the same path as in canon, even if Fushimi wasn’t his ‘stopper’ Fushimi is still someone important to him and Mikoto’s not just going to let that guy’s death be in vain. I kinda imagine Munakata talking to him in the jail at some point and wondering about Mikoto’s relationship with Fushimi, Munakata had his eye on Fushimi as well of course but stayed his hand noting that Suoh seemed….close to him. Mikoto gives this wry grin like is that what it looked like, refusing to answer properly. Really though he knows the truth and for Mikoto this is all someone like him can do: chase down the person who stole Fushimi from him and burn them to nothing, and if that means his own death then so be it.
