I know this isn’t popular but I love that everything Damiano writes is about Giorgia. It’s so poetic that millions of peoples lives revolve around them, but their own worlds turn only for each other.

When I first heard The Loneliest I thought it sounded like a song about loving someone who is chronically ill, but then all the imagery for the music video threw me. When Damiano says sick he means in too much pain to travel due to an incurable illness. So the concern isn’t with the recovery of her immune system, but if she can bear the mental strain of chronic pain alone. It’s something I think about often with a personality like Damiano’s. How is he coping with that total helplessness to support who is clearly his soul mate?

I also have tremendous respect for Giorgia’s Vulvodynia advocacy. I can’t imagine dating Damiano while openly talking about a chronic pain disorder that makes sex almost impossible. That’s a level a bravery not a single naysayer can match.
