Jake is part of a story I affectionately call "SPACE ADVENTURES" mostly bcos I cant think of a different name ❤

ANYWAY it follows Jake Isaac, a 23 yr old dude working a dead end job at a tourist trap diner in Roswell, New Mexico. He's been a foster kid his whole life, never sticking around for too long in one place, and as far as he can see it, he has no future.

That is until one night, he's abducted by aliens. A 12 year old alien princess named Hawke, and her guardian/royal scientist, Dr. Anatoly. Their homeworld was recently invaded and taken over by an alien warlord, while they managed to escape. They tell him they've travelled across the galaxy to find him, bcos he's destined to find the key to stopping the warlord. (They're. Wrong, but thats a spoiler lol)

Along the way, they meet all sorts of aliens and explore new worlds!

Oh, also, Jake is an alien experiment that was attempting to alter genetic makeup to see if they could successfully integrate into humankind completely undetected. Very shortly after little baby Jake was actually deployed to earth the project was shut down and he was abandoned w no guidance. But he doesn't know that ofc 😔

Its inspired by starwars, the gotg comics, and like. A lot of little random webcomics i read in middle school

It follows Teya Hallows, a 13 yr old transgirl who is a psychic medium and facing the horrors of 8th grade, and her best friend/older brother figure/legal guardian, Gator Perez (19), an absolute dork librarian with questionable music taste

Upon discovering that Teya can see and talk to ghosts, the two decide to start investigating their town, trying to get to the root of why there's just. So many fucking ghosts in their town??

During their investigations they discover dark secrets, unlikely friendships, and the terrible truth hidden in the heart of their town... (its ghosts. Its just more fucked up ghosts)

The night was perfect. Kelly and Larry were married, the whole Walker family was at peace, and Trey finally felt like he was going somewhere in his life. Maybe it was the wine or maybe he was just happy, but he wanted to live in this moment forever.

He was dancing with Cassie. The lights danced of the disco ball, making a constellation on Cassie’s bare shoulder. It was definitely the wine that made Trey want to kiss it but he could control himself. For now.

He just couldn’t believe this was real. That he was dancing with her. That he’d told her his feelings and she’d returned that. That she was here, laughing in his arms.

He’d never believed in love at first sight. He tried to be more careful with his heart. But despite only really knowing Cassie for less than a year and only just starting a relationship with her tonight, he knew he wanted to be with her forever.

I love you , he thought, listening to her commentary on the other dancers. I love you , he thought, toasting their drinks at the punch table. I love you , he almost said when they parted ways. But he wouldn’t. Not tonight. The timing wasn’t right.

“So, how is it in Florida?”

“Hot. And wet. But the gators aren’t biting so at least I only have dangerous criminals to worry about.”

Trey chuckled. “Well, that’s good. Graves giving you any trouble?”

“Surprisingly, no. She’s been very cooperative. I think it helps that she’s not in charge of this mission though; like we’re pretty much on the same level so she can’t look down on me. Not that she should be in the first place, but whatever. She’s actually pretty decent when she’s not stuck up on her high horse.”

Trey laughed. “Sounds like you two will be making friendship bracelets by the end of the week.”

Cassie snorted. “Yeah, right. Anyway, how’re things back home? Walker almost kill himself yet this week?”

“No, actually. But he almost got himself suspended for breaking chain of command to go after a suspect. I think James was just relieved to catch the guy or Walker would’ve been in his office for a lot longer.”

Cassie chuckled. “Yeah, that sounds about right. Is it okay working with him?”

“Yeah, yeah, it’s fine. I think he misses you though,” Trey said. “I caught him longingly looking at your empty chair. I’m sure he’ll be writing longing sonnets for your return in a couple weeks.”

She laughed. “Oh, that poor man. However will he survive without his amazing, spunky, badass partner?”

He chuckled. “Oh, I’m sure he’ll manage somehow.”

There was some noise on Cassie’s end. “Shoot, that’s the end of my break. Boss needs me in a meeting. I’ll call you tomorrow, okay?”

“Sure. Tomorrow.”

“Alright. Bye, babe.”

“Bye, Cassie.” I love you was almost instinctive. But he couldn’t say it. Not yet. Not over the phone when she might not even be coming back.

Cassie had the most beautiful smile. Trey didn’t see it often enough.

It’s not that Cassie was a rare smiler. Far from it. Trey just liked seeing her smile.

Which is why he always agreed to watch Hawk’s Shadow with her because that’s when she was at her smiliest. Sure, it was a cheesy show that would barely be background noise for him on a normal day. He wasn’t all that interested in the story and he barely remembered any of the plots once the episode was over. But it made her happy, so he sat with her and let her eat most of the popcorn while they watched.

“Oooooh this is the best part!” Cassie leaned forward and turned up the volume so they could hear better. She sat back on the couch and leaned over to get another mouthful of popcorn. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see she was watching his face more than the screen.

This was the other thing he loved about watching this. She wasn’t just dragging him into this for her own gain; she really wanted to share something she loved with the person she cared about.

Just another reason he loved her. When the episode ended (and he’d given an appropriate reaction to her favorite scene), he almost told her. “Next week, we’re starting Yu-Gi-Oh. I even have a card set so I can teach you to play,” he said instead.

Maybe after she could match his skill level, he’d be ready to lay out that trap card.

Trey wasn’t exactly a stranger to being shot. He spent most of his career in the military and there was always a risk, even if he was acting as a medic. He’d been shot more times than he cared to admit to his mother.

Having a lot of experience with it didn’t make it any easier to deal with.

“You’re gonna be okay, Trey.” Cassie’s worried face filled his vision. “We’re almost at the hospital and they’re gonna fix you right up, okay? This isn’t going to get you out of meeting my family next week.” She tried to smile; he tried to smile back. Neither of them were successful.

The rest of the car ride was a blur of pain and Cassie’s increasingly frantic voice. Trey wanted to comfort her. It wasn’t a fatal wound, not really. It hurt a lot but as long as he didn’t bleed out too much he’d be okay. He was just too tired.

“Trey?? Trey, honey, don’t fall asleep! Focus on me, okay? Look at me. You’re gonna be okay. We’re almost there.”

I love you . I’ll be back, he promised silently as they loaded him onto a gurney and took him in for surgery.

They both had the day off from work and no other plans. Just them, some good food, maybe some extra time in the sheets. He didn’t realize it before, but Trey had spent so much time in the past few years doing anything and everything to try and ignore the emptiness inside of him. Now, he didn’t feel quite so lonely nor desperate. Now, he could relax and hold the woman he loved in his arms.

Cassie sighed and rolled over to kiss him. “Thank you for turning off our alarms,” she muttered. “I think I would’ve thrown your phone off of the balcony if I had to wake up at 5 on my day off.”

Trey chuckled. “I know you would have. Good thing I’m a smart and good boyfriend who would never dare commit such a crime.”

She hummed and snuggled closer, resting her head on his chest. “Good. That means I can keep you.”

“That so? That’s good news for me. I like it when you keep me around.”

He couldn’t remember the last time he felt this secure. Content. Happy. Loved. He wasn’t sure he ever felt this way with Micki.

“Well, if I’m going to keep keeping you around, I’m going to need some breakfast. I need energy to keep you in line.” She folded her hands on his chest and rested her chin on top of them, giving him her best pout. “Make me french toast?”

He smiled and kissed her. “Anything for the woman I love.”

Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped slightly. It was rare he made her speechless like this. “You….?”

“Yes. I. Love. You,” he said, punctuating each word with another kiss. “Now, I believe I promised you french toast?” He got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen.

The day had only just started and it was already a great one.

SOUL-TO-SOUL WITH MARISOL...

“So Catalina PD’s definitely going to be mad that I leaked this, but I think the people — ahem, women of this island deserve to know if there’s a kidnapper and/or killer out on the loose. So Sunday night, we split up into like, six groups to look for Helena — but instead, we found something pre-tty interesting.

“The group I was in found Helena’s bleeping sweater that she was wearing the night she disappeared, which... I don’t have to tell you, is not a good sign. Then, the other people find her planner, all her schedules and papers for the Founder’s Day Ball with some creepy-ass messages, and her goddamn cellphone. Things that, according to some very reputable sources, weren’t found in the initial search.

“The other two groups found an old hat and a wedding ring with a cheesy inscription. I have no idea why that’s relevant, but apparently when police initially scoped this place out, they also didn’t find those things, so — they’re clues, I guess. Or maybe someone’s an idiot and lost their crap on the island, who knows.

“Anyways, Marisol Alvarez is out. Honestly, I hope they find her. She was too damn nice to me in high school, even when I got editor-in-chief over her. Also, I’m so tired of having to freak out every time someone walks behind me when I’m out jogging. Leave me your theories or any comments you have, and I’ll respond to them, as usual.”

PLOT DROP.

Group 1: Manned by Daphne Palmer-Slade, Ryan Moore, Elena Perez, Stevie Van Doren, Annaliese Atwater. Finds the tattered remains of Helena’s red sweater hung over a tree branch right by the Wrigley Memorial. It’s not dirty at all, and smells freshly laundered.

Group 2: Manned by Sage Beckett, Jamie Atwater, Tavi Inouye, Roane Morrissey. Finds Helena’s sopping wet planner washed up on the shore in Step Beach, half-buried in the sand. Only the date of the Founder’s Day Ball is marked inside, along with a phone number hastily scrawled into the inside cover with an area code for Oakland, California.

Group 3: Manned by Arthur Kanemoto, Tyson Hart, Robert Sommer, Della Slade. Finds a purple SF State Gators baseball cap with a bit of dried blood on it buried in the mud by a secluded ravine in the hills of Lafayette Square.

Group 4: Manned by Matthias Jonasson, Dove Quinn, Cian Veri, Ben Brody. Finds a wedding band with the inscription D&D Forever written on the inside on the other side of the hills in Lafayette Square. It’s dull and rusted.

Group 5: Manned by Marco Ricci, Ellie Hirsch, Charlie Ansel, Lottie Ainsley. Finds a still-wet manila folder by the Catalina Chimes Tower with a torn invitation to the Founder’s Day Ball, a schedule of the night, and a sheet of paper with phone numbers. Along with the files is a note with the words HELP ME. On another sheet of paper is the name D. DAVENPORT, and the same cell number as before.

Group 6: Manned by Lucian Carter, Theodore Carlson, Maya Wollman, Evie Morris. Finds what appears to be Helena’s cracked cellphone, submerged in a puddle in a secluded cave off the Descanso Beach Club in Ventura

Minnesota Twins-Kansas City Royals Series Preview

The Twins At A Glance- The Minnesota Twins got cooled off on Thursday by the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Bucs snapped a six-game winning streak for the Twins by beating up on Sergio Romo and Taylor Rogers late in the game. The team optioned Aaron Whitefield earlier this week to get down to the 28-man roster. MLB announced that rosters will remain at 28 men for the rest of the season. Nelson Cruz was rolling this week. He went 8-for-17 with three RBI’s in the four games against the Pirates. Jorge Polanco hit 4-for-10 in the last two games against the Pirates. The Twins are only hitting .236 as a team, but the pitching has carried the team. Randy Dobnak has a 0.60 ERA in 15 innings on the year. Kenta Maeda has a 2.65 ERA in three starts. Jose Berrios looks better with each start and the bullpen has been solid besides Thursday’s game. Tyler Duffey has thrown five scoreless innings, Matt Wisler hasn’t allowed a run in 5 2/3 innings, Cody Stashak also has five scoreless frames. The Twins have a team ERA of 2.97.

The Royals At A Glance- The Royals have had a rough start to their 2020 campaign. They come in at (4-10), but snapped a six-game losing streak, but beating up on the Cubs 13-2 last night at Kauffman Stadium. Now, they play the first place Twins after playing the White Sox and Cubs over the past seven games. The Royals get Salvador Perez back after he missed all of 2019 with Tommy John surgery. He is hitting .293 in fourteen games. Jorge Soler led the Majors in homers last year with 48. He has three homers and six RBI’s so far in 2020. The Royals added third basemen Maikel Franco and outfielder Franchy Cordero to the mix. Alex Gordon re-signed with the team and is hitting just .209. Danny Duffy has been decent in three starts. The Royals do have some arms coming up in their system. Brady Singer was a good starter for the Florida Gators and lefty Kris Bubic was a first round pick back in 2018 out of Stanford. They also took Asa Lacy with their first pick this year. Greg Holland is back as their closer. He was with the Royals from 2010-2016. Trevor Rosenthal, Ian Kennedy, and Scott Barlow are solid middle relief options for new manager Mike Matheny.

What To Watch For- The Twins went (14-5) against the Royals in 2019. These two teams will square off in 10 of the next 16 games, so you’ll see a lot of the Royals and Brewers in the next two weeks. Devin Smeltzer has not allowed an earned run in seven innings against the Royals in his career. Jakob Junis has a 4.28 ERA in seven starts against the Twins. Jake Odorizzi is (3-5) with a 4.88 ERA in eleven games versus the Royals. Whit Merrifield had three homers off Odorizzi. Danny Duffy is (6-3) with a 3.13 ERA in 23 games against the Twins. Jose Berrios is (3-2) with a 4.29 ERA in thirteen starts against the Royals. Ryan O’Hearn has taken Berrios deep twice. I’m anxious to watch Brady Singer pitch on Sunday for the Royals. It looks like Dayton Moore is getting his farm system built up again for another Royals run in the coming years.

Chapter 3

The rain subsided shortly after O’Bannon made it back to his Key West home. The time was now two am and he knew that his wife and and daughters were sound asleep, all of them having to get up for work and school in the next few hours. He placed a call to Javier Perez, his head of security detail to dispose of the young woman’s body. Perez was ex-military and had worked for O’Bannon for the last 10 years. He was a short gentleman with broad shoulders and curly black hair. He arrived to the mansion shortly after O’Bannon, wasting no time loading the body into the back of his SUV. He lifted the body with a grunt, careful not to let the sheet unravel. He tucked away the stray strands of hair that peeked out before carefully laying the body across the back seat.

“Thank you, Javier.”

“No problem, Senator.”

“I owe you my life.”

“In more ways than one,” Javier jokes. “Get some sleep, Senator. I’ll take care of things from here.” The two men exchanged pleasantries before going their separate ways. As far as O’Bannon was concerned, this whole thing was a distant memory and life as he knew it was back to normal.

Perez drove for about 20 minutes before finally coming to a stop. He hoisted the body from the backseat of his truck and dumped it in the gulf.

“Good riddance,” he muttered as he watched the body float away. He stood and watched for several minutes before finally driving away. With the way the current was rushing, it would take weeks for the body to be discovered by anyone, provided the sharks and gators didn’t get to her first.

The lights of the medical examiner’s office glowed bright white, casting an almost ethereal glow. Detectives Ramirez and Fitzgerald followed the coroner to the exam room, passing several operating rooms along the way.

“A group of guys fishing caught her in their net. With the way her body has swelled, she’s been dead at least a week.”

“Did she have any form of ID on her?” Ramirez asked.

“No, she’s a Jane Doe.”

“We’ll check the missing person’s database. What’s the cause of death?” Fitzgerald asked as his eyes roamed the body. Although swollen and severely decomposed, he was sure he had seen the young woman before, but wasn’t exactly sure where.

“Jane Doe died of asphyxiation. She has the indentation of handprints on her neck as well as traces of her attacker’s skin under her nails. She tried to fight back, but was unsuccessful.”

Fitzgerald studied the woman more closely, paying particularly close attention to the pearl ring she wore on her right ring finger. He had definitely seen that before, on the finger of Mrs. Maria O’Bannon. His eyebrows knitted tight together as he attempted to piece together what was going on. He made a mental note to place a call to the chief as well as to the senator’s office to see if either of them could be of some assistance.

“Everything alright, Fitz? You look bothered about something,” Ramirez asked as they left the office.

“Something isn’t adding up. The ring Jane Doe was wearing belongs to Senator O’Bannon’s wife. I’ve seen her wearing it the few times I was on security detail at the Capitol.”

“You thinking the senator is having an affair?”

Back at the police station, Detective Ramirez was reviewing the footage from the traffic cameras the night of the accident. He enhanced and edited the video until he was able to make out the driver of the black Mercedes Benz Derek Jenkins remembered seeing.

“Chief! You’re gonna want to take a look at this!” he yelled once the video was fully enhanced.

“What the hell did you do, O’Bannon?!” Agent Quintin Moralez screamed at the solemn looking man sitting across from him.

“It was an accident. I-I didn’t mean to kill her. You gotta help me, Q. This can’t get back to Maria.”

“Stop your whining. I’ll try to pull some strings and see if I can get the heat off of you, but in the meantime, sit your Cuban ass down somewhere. Go home to your wife and children and act like things are normal.” O’Bannon nods, lifting from his seat in front of Agent Q’s desk before quietly exiting. Agent Q sits down at his desk, pulling out his cell phone to make a call.

“Yeah, Chief Monroe. It’s Agent Moralez with the CIA. I need some of your men to do a little dirty work for me.

In the days following the accident, Derek Jenkins tried his best to carry on a normal life. After Tameka’s death, he stepped down from the senate, choosing to be an alderman for the state of Florida. The paycut and new job title meant that he would have more time to spend at home with his son, making sure that life for him remained as normal as possible. When David was 8 years old, he expressed interest in joining the Little League baseball team in their community. Derek was apprehensive, but knew that it would be a great experience for David. After his first practice, David fell in love and it wasn’t long before Derek had hopped on the bandwagon too. He made friends with Dillon and Todd Chambers, the sons of their next door neighbor Margo Chambers. The trio was inseparable, which angered Derek because Margo was always trying to spark up conversation with him. Though he knew she her actions came from a genuine place, he just didn’t have it in him to get close to another woman. David’s death, however only made him close himself off more. He started drinking again, often having to have a bottle of Jack a day in order to function.

“Alderman Jenkins?” a chipper voice pulled him out of his thoughts and brought him back to the present. He was back in his office and his assistant was there to go over the budget for his campaign as well as confirm his attendance to Senator O’Bannon’s press conference later that day.

“I apologize Naomi, please continue.” As the young woman continued firing off what was on the agenda before her, Derek couldn’t help but lose himself in his thoughts again. It had been a week since the accident and he still hadn’t heard anything from Officers Ramirez and Fitzgerald. He hoped that they hadn’t forgotten about him and that his son’s killer wouldn’t get off scot free.

He wanted justice to be served. He wanted to make everyone involved pay for what they had done to his family.

DNC Chair Tracks Down Biden In Everglades Tossing Whole Chickens To Gators

HOMESTEAD, FL—Acting on a tip from a local fisherman who caught the former vice president siphoning gas from his outboard motor, DNC Chairman Tom Perez on Monday reportedly tracked down Joe Biden deep in the Florida Everglades tossing whole raw chickens to alligators.

Sources confirmed that the bearded, shaggy-haired Biden, who withdrew from public life four months ago, was initially startled to see Perez, dropping the bird carcass he was de-feathering and uttering “ah shit” when he recognized the newly elected head of the Democratic Party.

“How the fuck did you guys find me?” said Biden, flicking a lit cigarette into the swamp before wiping his brow with the bottom of his faded Merit cigarettes tank top. “I was really hoping I’d seen my last federale pencil pusher.”

“Ain’t much I can do for you unless you want to see ’ol Betsy here make a 10-pound leghorn disappear,” added the former six-term Delaware senator, dangling a limp chicken over the snapping jaws of an adult female alligator. “These days I’m just trying to put together a gator show for the tourists and make some scratch, but since you hauled ass all the way down here, I guess you got Uncle Joe’s ear.”

Biden reportedly encouraged Perez to “take a load off” on an overturned plastic bucket outside his decrepit wooden shack, popped off the cork of a rum bottle with his teeth, took a long swig, and described how he was finally living the good life. The former VP then waded knee-deep into the water and attempted to grab a catfish barehanded while explaining that he relished the chance to spend quiet time in nature “way the fuck away from the D.C. shit fiesta.”

According to sources, the 74-year-old, who categorically refused Perez’s pleas to help the beleaguered Democratic Party campaign in a handful of local races, added that even a bad day in the swamp beat having to “waste a killer buzz sitting in some bullshit cabinet meeting” or “wank off the Joint Chiefs” like in his previous job.

Biden then warned the DNC chairman to keep his eyes peeled, explaining that the alligators could get a “little feisty” once they got a few chickens in them.

“Most of these guys are pretty chill, except for that big boy over there—watch out for the chompers on that fucker,” said Biden, gesturing with the severed tip of his right index finger toward a 9-foot-long male affectionately named Diablo. “He may have nipped my pleasure pointer, but he sure as shit got the business end of a broken Cuervo bottle.”

“So let’s just say we’ve got an unspoken agreement,” Biden added. “Still got the fingertip floating around with some ice-cold brewhas in case I ever need that sucker.”

While Biden admitted that more work needed to be done so that no American had to choose between affordable healthcare and Ozzfest tickets, he also reiterated his lack of interest in even a modest role in politics, and instead reportedly offered to take Perez for a spin in an old fan boat he’d recently restored in his downtime.

“My main man Rez, what do you think of my hot new fling?” said Biden, who accelerated the rickety boat through the brackish water and started “doing donuts” as Perez tightly gripped both sides of his seat and tried not to get mud on his clothes. “If I really gun her, we can catch some serious fuckin’ air.”

“Dammit, I think I just clipped a manatee,” Biden continued. “Better slow this puppy down or the dicks from Fish and Wildlife will be up my ass again.”

Easing back on the boat’s throttle, Biden reportedly invited the DNC chairman to help himself to a Slim Jim and a couple of Coors tallboys from a cooler in the stern.

“I’m not gonna lie, I’ve got a good thing going here in the Glades,” said Biden, turning up BulletBoys’ “Smooth Up In Ya” on a beat-up boombox covered in marijuana leaf and Graffix bong stickers. “The sun’s bright, and the babes ain’t got any damn tan-lines. Plus, I don’t have to worry about narcs like you telling me what I can and can’t say.”

“Listen, for the first time in my life, I’ve got my shit together, so I’m staying put,” Biden continued. “Next time you’re in D.C., give my best to Jilly. Just don’t mention where I am or your ass is fucking grass.”

Major League Baseball notebook: Tebow named Double-A All-Star

Heisman-winning quarterback Tim Tebow hit another milestone in his transition to professional baseball, being named an All-Star in the Eastern League on Friday.

Tebow, a left fielder for the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies in the New York Mets organization, is hitting .261 with five home runs and 30 RBIs in 67 games this season. He’s been especially hot lately, hitting .406 with nine RBIs over the last 10 games.

Tebow struggled in spring training, going 1-for-18 with 11 strikeouts in seven exhibition games with the Mets. In 126 games last season in Class A, Tebow hit .226 with eight home runs and 52 RBIs. He played for Columbia before being promoted to high Class-A St. Lucie.

Before starting his professional baseball career, Tebow won the Heisman Trophy as quarterback of the Florida Gators and played three NFL seasons, two for the Denver Broncos and one for the New York Jets.

—The Houston Astros made the expected move of placing shortstop Carlos Correa on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to June 26, with back soreness.

Correa missed the previous three games due to the injury. He is batting .268 with 13 homers and 49 RBIs in 73 games this season.

The Astros recalled left-hander Cionel Perez from Double-A Corpus Christi in a corresponding move.

—The Minnesota Twins have placed utility man Taylor Motter on the seven-day disabled list after he showed concussion-like symptoms following an injury suffered Thursday.

The team purchased the contract of catcher/infielder Willians Astudillo from Triple-A Rochester to take Motter’s spot on the 25-man roster. The Twins designated right-handed pitcher Felix Jorge for assignment to add Astudillo to the 40-man roster.

Motter was injured when he crashed into the outfield wall at Guaranteed Rate Field against the White Sox. He was playing right field at the time.

—The New York Yankees activated Brandon Drury, out since April 7 when migraine headaches and blurred vision landed him on the disabled list, prior to their home game against the Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees got Drury as part of a three-team trade with Arizona and Tampa Bay in February. Drury played the first three years of his career with the Diamondbacks.

Drury was the Yankees’ Opening Day third baseman. He had five hits in 23 at-bats prior to his stint on the DL.
