.. to be honest, I really don’t care about this. Personally.

How are we still having this discussion.. if anything should be clear to anyone it’s that Naruto and Sasuke are equals, right? A balanced force that make each other complete. Opposite forces that contrast each other like darkness and light.. yin and yang. Two energies that form the perfect balance of energy that is supposed to be found in all living matter. Touched upon the world like the Sun and the Moon. Harmony.

Neither is dominant if you’re going to ask me to draw them ‘canonically’.. which btw.. this is fanart.. it doesn’t have to be, nor does it have to make sense to you. So to answer your question: I draw them this way.. because I want to?

But why I tend to lean more towards ‘NaruSasu’ when I draw them has probably something to do with the way Kishimoto portrays them.

I’ll simplify it, but Naruto is the chaser, Sasuke lets himself be chased. Naruto is bold and assertive, Sasuke observes. Naruto seems to live more in the outside world, while Sasuke tends more towards his inner being which makes Naruto look like the more empathic one while Sasuke hides how deeply he cares. Naruto’s Yang energy, his warm light, compliments Sasuke’s more elegant Yin, colder, yet mysterious darkness.

Yet, the darkness can never escape the light. The moon can never cast out the sun. Light a candle in the dark and it’ll light up the room.

I can see Naruto more often being the initiator. Not just personality-wise, but also in the way Kishimoto draws them.

Look at their stances, the face-shapes (is that make-up on Sasuke?), the way they carry themselves throughout the whole manga. Sasuke is much, much more elegantly moving while Naruto is brute force and “in your face” most of the time.

Still doesn’t mean I didn’t want to draw SasuNaru ever, but this is why I guess.
