This is post 1 of 6 in my review of the MG GN-0000 GNR-010/XN 00 XN RAISER Celestial Being Mobile Suit. What a mouthful. This post focuses on the MG 00 Gundam.

Overall this is a superior MG kit with a lot of detail and articulation. The kit very accurately renders the anime 00 Gundam into reality without sacrificing any of the practicality of a good gundam kit. Excellent part separation and design all around. Also I would have to say that this is the first kit I have built where the moving finger joint hands do a far better job at holding the weapons.

There are a few downsides to this kit. Biggest one is that it only comes with one LED unit, when you really need three for the kit. One in the chest and two for the GN drives. Coupled to this issue is the lack of mobility in the head. The head can tilt forward and back, but it is not on a ball joint. So some motion is limited. Last big issue has to do with the upper arm joints. I find that the upper arm becomes disconnected easily from the shoulder when posing the kit a lot. Same issue happens with the GN drives. Nothing to keep those parts in place.

So back in the day, I really had a hard time trying to get myself a 00 Raiser kit regardless of grade. I went to this same store a few years back when they had a PG, and was disappointed when I found out someone bought it a day before I went there. But alas, I finally got one in the Spring of 2013.

What's neat about this one is the different color palette it uses, as it's made to look more like what the show mecha designer interpreted. The blacks are more grey, and the royal blues are more like a powder blue. It looks really nice. Also, this is obviously a 2-in-1 since this includes both the 00 Gundam and the 0 Raiser, which before were sold separately. The only downside is the lack of a GN Sword, which was included in the release of the standard color HG 00 Raiser. But still, this is a nice looking build and i’m proud of how it turned out.

GN-0000 00 Gundam and the GNR-010 00 Raiser. Going to have two posts, maybe 3. Took a lot of pictures of the HG kit that I bought a long time ago. Has a bunch of weapons so there are lots of options.

Basically the kit is good. Very articulate and has really good color separation.
