At least 87 people have been rescued as “significant” flooding inundates south-central Montana, wiping out bridges, destroying miles of road and forcing more than 10,000 visitors out of Yellowstone National Park. 

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte declared a statewide disaster Tuesday due to the severe flooding in Carbon, Park and Stillwater counties caused by rapid snowmelt and recent heavy rains, which he said “is destroying homes, washing away roads and bridges, and leaving Montanans without power and water services.”

The severe weather has seen the Yellowstone River swell to historic levels, hitting major flood stage in Billings on Tuesday.

Since Monday, Montana Army National Guard helicopter crews have rescued 87 people and flown more than 41 hours in search and rescue operations, according to a news release.

The Guard started to receive requests to rescue stranded civilians with aircraft with hoist capability at 2:45 p.m. Monday, and dispatched two helicopters. 

The first rescued two people in Roscoe and two people in Fromberg. The second rescued eight people in Cooke City, the news release said. 

Four aircraft have been positioned in Billings to help with any follow-on missions. 

The Guard received another request Tuesday to aid in search and rescue near East Rosebud Lake.  

The floodwaters threatened to cut off fresh drinking water supplies to Montana’s largest city, Billings, earlier in the week.

Residents were asked Wednesday to conserve water because it was down to a 24- to 36-hour supply after the rain and snowmelt raised the Yellowstone River to levels that forced city officials to shut down its water treatment plant.

Juli“ geschehen lassen, die den Begriff des Mythos befragen, feiern, geschehen lassen oder beschädigen. Welchen Mythos eigentlich? Den des Prenzlauer Berges? Von Pankow? Der Stadt Berlin? Der Künstlerin / dem Künstler als Person oder Vorkommnis? Wo ist euer Arkadien? Die politischen Ereignisse der letzten Wochen haben weitere Fragen nach Mythen und gebrochenen Mythen aufgeworfen, die wir hier ebenfalls kommentieren können.

Die Ausstellung in der Galerie Pankow ist die diesjährige Festivalausstellung und entsteht in Kooperation mit der Galerie Pankow. Es werden ca. 80 Positionen auf und aus Papier versammelt, die dem Thema auf der Spur sind.

artspring berlin wurde 2017 gegründet vor dem Hintergrund der drohenden Verdrängung der Bildenden Künstler:innen aus dem Stadtbezirk, da Arbeits- und Ausstellungsmöglichkeiten zunehmend der Immobilienspekulation zum Opfer fielen und auch nach wie vor fallen. Somit spielt das Thema des Mythos immer mit: Hat der Mythos des Prenzlauer Berges / von Pankow sich selbst beschädigt? Können sich Künstler:innen auf ihrem Mythos ausruhen? Sind Mythen Gerüchte, sind es Überlieferungen, sind es Interpretationen? Ist mein Mythos auch dein Mythos?

Después de tres partidos consecutivos quedándome en casa pese a tener entrada, ayer fui a ver al Rapid a Giulesti. Jugaba contra el Farul de Hagi, en partido de Copa. El Rapid estuvo en todo momento nervioso e impreciso y perdimos 0-2. Desde que fui al FCSB-Anderlecht (el FCSB es el antiguo Steaua) valoro muchísimo la capacidad de leer los partidos del jefe de los ultras del Rapid, Liviu Ungurean. Ungurean pasa casi todo el partido de espalda al terreno de juego, dirigiendo la coreografía de la curva, la peluza en rumano, con un micrófono en la mano y subido a un podio. Por comparación con la hinchada rival he visto lo bien que elige los cánticos (y los efectos estéticos asociados) según el resultado, el tempo del juego y las necesidades del Rapid. Es un placer participar activamente en el ritual, que incluye a menudo el saludo con la bocina a los fans de los trenes que entran y salen de la Estación del Norte. (El Rapid fue desde su fundación el equipo de los ferroviarios, y tiene el estadio cerca de la estación, al lado de las vías del tren.) Al volver a casa me puse en YouTube un programa sobre el narcotráfico de El Faro de Alejandría de Dragó. Estaban Escohotado y otro partidario de la despenalización, el holandés Eric Fromberg. Y al otro lado de la mesa dos médicos partidarios de la prohibición. Por el número nueve que aparece en la parte superior derecha de la pantalla, el programa se emitió en la televisión pública valenciana, Canal 9. Es impensable ver un programa inteligente, libre y adulto como los que hacía Dragó en la mayoría de televisiones de hoy. Particularmente en la tele pública valenciana de nuestros días, À Punt, que es una mezcla insufrible de paletismo de pueblo (¿no se puede hacer algo de calidad en valenciano?) y catequesis izquierdista posmoderna. Del programa me gustó la pasión de Fromberg. En una de las últimas pausas se fueron del plató Fromberg y uno de los médicos. Fromberg tenía que coger un avión a Ginebra y al médico le esperaba una guardia. “No hay mal que por bien no venga”, dijo Dragó de la partida prematura de Fromberg, que, como también dijo el presentador, “había acaparado el debate”. Al término de una de las erupciones verbales del holandés, que además hablaba en inglés con traducción simultánea, Dragó había dicho en voz alta: “es que además me va a resultar casi imposible cortarle a Eric Fromberg porque en inglés no sé cómo se corta”.

Das Verwalterhaus auf dem St. Nicolai- und St. Marienfriedhof ist ein Kleinod, wie es das eigentlich nicht mehr gibt in Berlin und in Pankow. Das Haus mit der eindrücklichen Adresse Prenzlauer Allee 1 ist ebenso zentral gelegen wie morbide verwunschen. Für drei Wochen füllen wir es mit ortsbezogenen Installationen von Kunstschaffenden des  Stadtbezirks Pankow.

Das kleine Haus auf dem Friedhof ist ein Ort wie ein Zwischenreich – zwischen dem Leben, das hier stattgefunden hat, dem, welches hinter dem Zaun tobt und der Vergänglichkeit, die sich wie ein Garten um das Gebäude schmiegt. Die Ausstellung legt einen Lebensfaden durch das Gebäude, der zu einem gemalten Portal führt. 13 Positionen zeigen Stationen, Fragen und auch Ungeheuerlichkeiten des Lebens.

The caretaker's house on the St. Nicolai and St. Marien cemetery is a gem the likes of which no longer exist in Berlin and Pankow. The house with the impressive address Prenzlauer Allee 1 is as centrally located as it is morbidly enchanted. For three weeks, we will fill it with site-specific installations by artists from the district of Pankow.

The small house in the cemetery is a place like an in-between realm - between the life that has taken place here, that which rages behind the fence and the transience that nestles around the building like a garden. The exhibition lays a thread of life through the building that leads to a painted portal. 13 positions show stations, questions and also monstrosities of life.
