Square Enix has been on fire with the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 finally in the hands of the players. Some of which who waited for a decade. Always being a company that strikes while the iron is hot, it should be no surprise that 2019 would be spared from Square dropping multiple titles. For all you Final Fantasy fans who are either A.) Looking for some serious nostalgia, or B.) Trying to play one of Square Enix’s many greatest hit, I have some wonderful news for you! FF 9 will be joining FF10 and FF12 in the HD remastered department! That’s right! Newcomers and veterans experience the tale of Zidane, Vivi, Princess Garne, and others on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC!
Square Enix Bringing Back the Favorites
But why remaster one game, when you have a catalog as full as Square Enix’s? The good people at SE have decided to bestow on to its loyal fanbase with a remaster of Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon; Which is set to release March 20, 2019. A reworking of the 2007 game Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon includes a variety of updates including brand new dungeons, a new buddy system in which players can recruit monsters or other characters as allies, and fit this new modern gaming age, a local co-op system where players can link up with their friends and maneuver through randomly generated dungeons.
And just six days after that on March 26th, fans and newcomers alike can relive the magic that is FF7. NO! Not the remake! If that were coming out next month, I would be thoroughly convinced that Square was trying to make fans heads explode. The original, groundbreaking, 11 million copies sold, PS1 classic, FF7 will be remastered and hit the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch this spring 2019.
So for those of you wanted to either experience the magic again or catch those FF titles you never played, this spring you can do it from your Xbox or Switch! I know we are all waiting for that FF7 reboot. But while we are on the subject of HD remastered games, I’m probably one of a small select group of people on the list that would like to see The Bouncer get an HD remasters.
