Tiles!

Ive created the basis for the tile system in Ferrun. Its built off of the bevy_ecs_tilemap plugin / crate for Bevy. The basic idea is that each tile is an entity with some data stuck onto it. This could be things like health, an inventory, or some other piece of data. But each tile requires a type. The types are kinda strange, where the stored type is just an index, and the data for a tile type is stored in a bunch of different hashmaps when the game starts. To get something about that tile type (like max health), get the hashmap for it and check if it has that piece of data. Not sure how good of an idea it is, but it means I can have tile types that don't have a bunch of data they wont use and makes it easier to write them. Also they are hjson files so if you want to make your own in the future its really easy. Also this lookup system means things only grab the information they need, which will (hopefully) make them run faster. Anywho, theres a little demo for it in google drive! Use WASD to move around, plus and equals to zoom in and out, and arrow keys to select tile type. Left click to place tiles inside the green square (it starts out very zoomed out, so you'll need to zoom in a bit at the start. Also as of posting theres no Mac build, cause I dunno how to do that yet and I have a windows machine.

Lady Ferrun stalked forward from the back of the procession, eyes blazing with fury. "Insolent cur, you dare to lay a hand on your Emperor?" She drew her sword with a harsh rasp of metal. "I'll have your head for that!"

She drew the blade back, but paused and lowered it as Zelkov raised a hand. He looked down at the old man with cold detachment. "And what is this madness of which you speak?"

"No one man can claim to rule over all of Gelura," the old man said, hands trembling. "That is the domain of the gods! To do so is to declare yourself their equal, and invite their wrath upon the world!"

"I make no claim to being an equal to the gods." Zelkov lashed out with a vicious backhand, striking the old man cleanly in the face and sending him toppling to the cobblestones with a cry of pain. "For there is no being in all of existence that is an equal to me. No man, no monster, and no god." His lip curled up in a sneer. "If you're so concerned about what the gods think, then you can tell them that yourself."

He nodded to Ferrun, who raised her blade high, then turned and continues along the procession as she brought it down.

This was the first custom TIE fighter model I built in Stud.io, the TIE Spectre.

Lore Dump: Around the formal start of the Galactic Civil War, TIE-based projects such as the TIE Defender were rare and had much less focus devoted to them in comparison to initiatives such as Projects Celestial Power and Stardust, leaving the creation of new TIE variants lacking, especially due to the Tarkin Doctrine's focus on large shows of force and overwhelming firepower-something large swarms of regular TIEs already accomplished.

This changed with the destruction of the first Death Star, however. Once the formation of Imperial Special Forces units such as Inferno Squadron began, various pieces of equipment were made to accommodate them, from the TL-50 Heavy Repeater, to modified variants of the standard TIE Fighter. To some within the Imperial Department of Military Research however, this was not enough. A new research facility was established on the planet of Shuurl to develop new weaponry, armor, and vehicles to accommodate new units and initiatives to keep the war firmly within the Empire's control. This included the development of new TIE variants, including the TIE Spectre.

The Spectre was built to be an eventual upgrade and replacement to the Interceptor, being meant for use by special forces until mass production could bring the number of existing Spectres into full use. Sporting a limited shield generator, life support, sensor scramblers, four blaster cannons on each wing, and upgraded hyperdrive based off of data left over from the failed TIE Booster project. Only a handful of Spectres were made by the time of the Battle on Hoth, and after the Second Death Star's destruction the Spectre's development and production effectively ground to a halt as funding was pulled to more desperate attempts to save the Empire from oblivion.

Some of the only models to survive past Endor were in the possession of Void Squadron, however the squad had already been reduced in size due to defections to the Empire, and the remainder of Void Squadron's personnel in possession of Spectres were halved during the Battle of Jakku, making the TIE Spectre much rarer. During the three decades after the Empire's defeat, some Spectres were used in the development of a new TIE model more befitting Supreme Leader Snoke's apprentice, Kylo Ren. The Spectres sacrificed to the development of his ship lead to what would become the TIE Vendetta, more formally known as the TIE Silencer. At least one Spectre would survive the Silencer's development, under the old commander of Void Squadron, Skye Ferrun.

And that's it, sorry for the essay-worth of reading. This one's a few years old, the Spectre's the first TIE I worked on. I don't really work on this stuff much due to my mental health, so it's nice to just type all of this out somewhere where I can keep it safe. I'll be posting my other custom TIEs (along with other creative stuff) at a later point.

DISASTER: ilara, who has just enough of a moral compass that she hates every second of an existence based on eating people’s souls!!!! mari kazimar, who doesnt learn not to play with other people’s toys despite dying from it the first time. and kothyx, the hyena-headed goddess of chaos who would enjoy godly delicacies if she weren’t so busy haunting crossroads and fading in and out of existence!

Paixão de Cristo reúne mais de 7 mil espectadores

A noite de sexta-feira (19/4) foi marcada por diversas apresentações da Paixão de Cristo pela capital. As encenações emocionaram as pessoas que foram aos bairros Sítio Cercado, Bairro Alto, Abranches, Alto Boqueirão, Xaxim e Pinheirinho. As apresentações foram realizadas por grupos de teatro comunitários amadores com o apoio da Fundação Cultural de Curitiba. 

Na Rua da Cidadania do Bairro Novo, no Sítio Cercado, onde acontece uma das maiores encenações da cidade, mais de 7 mil pessoas se reuniram para prestigiar o espetáculo realizado pelo grupo de teatro Arte e Vida em sua 20ª encenação da Paixão de Cristo.

O prefeito em exercício, Eduardo Pimentel, foi acompanhado da família assistir a apresentação. “Trago o abraço do nosso prefeito Rafael Greca e o apoio do nosso município. Vivemos um momento de comunhão nessa sexta-feira santa e que no domingo, na ressureição de Cristo, nós passamos estar em família”, disse ele.

O presidente da Associação Sociocultural e Artística Profeta Elias (Ascape), Frei Edmilson Carvalho, agradeceu o apoio do município e disse que não é possível separar a dimensão religiosa da questão antropológica e cultural. “A religião faz parte certamente da cultura”, afirmou ele. 

Muita emoção

A noite de temperatura agradável foi de encomenda, disse alguns moradores, com a lua cheia iluminando um céu estrelado, um cenário mais convidativo para quem acompanhou as duas horas de espetáculo ao ar livre. O grupo Arte e Vida, responsável pela encenação, reuniu em sua produção mais de 200 pessoas, entre atores, figurantes e ajudantes, a maioria moradores da região.

Um dos atores que interpreta Jesus é Thyago Ferrunes, de 35 anos. Ele contou que sente pontos de identificação com Cristo. O artista tinha, inclusive, 33 anos, quando o interpretou pela primeira vez, a mesma idade de Jesus quando foi crucificado. “Sou judeu como ele e essa é uma experiência muito interessante, traz uma mensagem de igualdade e encontros. Acho importante falarmos dessas coisas nos tempos em que vivemos”, afirmou.

Yasmin Barbosa Reis, de apenas 8 anos, estava animada para assistir pela primeira vez a encenação. Acompanhada de sete familiares, ela contou que chegou com mais de duas horas de antecedência para conseguir um lugar bem na frente. “Eu já li nos livros a história de Jesus, sei que ele vai ser crucificado e depois renascer, mas nunca tinha visto acontecer assim na minha frente”, contou a menina, admirada como se fosse um segredo. 

Maria Solange dos Santos, 40 anos, mora no Pinheirinho e saiu cedo de casa com a família para assistir, também pela primeira vez, a Paixão de Cristo. “Eu me emociono fácil e ver a história de Jesus assim de perto é especial”, disse.
