Yharnam is located over the area that once was Farron Swamp\Carthus Catacombs, with Hunter Fashion being inspired by the Undead Legion.

what would you consider the saddest part of your muse's life?

// no matter the verse: there is always unequivocally a point in which heysel dies, or comes a hair’s breadth close to it, only to return, or recover miraculously. and no matter the verse, she always lives at the cost of the world leaving her behind.

in her main dks verse she dies at the hand of a brigand, just that senselessly, a girl in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it takes enough time for her to return as an undead that by the time her once corpse breathes again there simply isn’t a home for her to return to at all. farron is no more, consumed by corruption; the acolytes scattered or six feet underground, the legion mad and fighting between themselves; not one soul of her family alive; all she loved and held dear and believed in gone. she lives again, yes, but nothing remains and nothing welcomes her presence. and in all verses, she has to face this completely and utterly by herself. in all verses the fact is cold and clear: she must endure alone.

it’s poor luck, of course. or an equivalent exchange, if you really wish. it happens. it's no one's fault. bad timing all around. but here, broken and at her most fragile, when most she needed someone, anyone, something or anything at all to help her endure the enormity of her horror and grief, there just was no one around to do so. and so she has to drag herself out of the pit of her own despair before she’s buried underneath it, build a meaning out of air and her own bones, and through this complete loss she forges at least one of her core tenets- she has nothing, she is nothing, and thus she is free. 

still this event remains etched upon the essence of her, and it translates in a fundamental conviction that when again she’ll need help- not prefer nor desire but need- when she’ll be again teetering on the edge of fracture, when everything will be too much for her to endure, she cannot truly believe that even the closest company she keeps will help her, not even if they offer a hand. that hand is not a thing she can have faith in. she might blink and it might be gone. she cannot be sure you’ll stay to help. she doesn’t need it, either. of course. she’s survived once. she can do it again. of course. she loves you and loves the world and all the beauty and life of it, and she’ll always be here for you, always be ready to dismantle the idea that your suffering is to be carried alone. but herself? the only certainty is her own resilience. she can do it again. she will. she’s built so many fine internal mechanisms precisely to be sure that she won’t break like that ever again.

Loop-dee-doos: Just An Abyss Watcher

This took like 3 days! The drawing tools are hard in Moho, but the results are worth it, I think. I want to try animating complex forms in it to see if it’s useful for work. I think it is. I’m not sure if it’s good enough to animate a scene, but I can use it for looping instagram postings.

Anyhow, here’s a lone Abyss Watcher, Part of Farron’s Undead Legion, here to exterminate every single beings corrupted by The Abyss, even one of their own!

I'm going to my first west coast convention, FanimeCon, this weekend! It'll likely be the usual line up - Hawkwood/Abyss Watcher on Saturday and black knight, probably no helmet for most of the time, on Sunday. Maybe something on Monday depending on how I'm feeling. Come find me and say hi :-)
