I'm also gonna cheat and give more than one per fandom because I actually sorted all the fics in my fandoms by title and went through all the C's, which was enlightening but also gave me too many options that I love. Narrowing it down to three or less was hard enough.

Another kid fic, this time featuring Jack and Lardo co-parenting a kid who resulted from a one-night stand they had right before Jack was supposed to be drafted. Bitty is the kid’s favorite YouTuber. This fic gives me so many feels.
the girl who lived (again) - Harry Potter - by @ink-splotch
I struggled with whether to include a Harry Potter fic in this list given . . . you know . . . but this is a beautiful interpretation of trans!Harry and makes the best case I’ve ever seen for why queer and trans young people need queer and trans role models, so I’m keeping it on the list.

Shitty and Jack friendship so well-written that I wrote in my comment on it that I was happy-squealing. A great take on the ultimate brotp.

Patater fake dating at the Zimbits wedding. I have reread this fic SO many times. I’m a sucker for fanon Kent Parson, particularly when the writer gives him this much of an inferiority complex.

The disability rep here makes me so happy! This fic features deaf!Jack and CODA!Bitty. It’s also just so cute, in general.
Three Points Where Two Lines Meet - Check Please - by @luckiedee
This fic has a two-person love triangle featuring Jack and Bitty falling for each other both at the grocery store and via email as Jack reads Bitty’s blog, without realizing that they’re the same people in both venues. And THEN Shitty and Lardo try to set them up. The TROPES. I love this one a lot.
The Kit-den Catfe - Check Please - by @justwritins
This writer is AMAZING at writing a Kent Parson who has been abused and is trying so hard to heal and figure things out. In this fic, Kent owns a cat cafe and Tater falls hard for him. Gosh, I want to reread this immediately.
The Placebo Effect - Check Please - by @doggernaut
Trope subversion alert! In this fic, Bitty and Jack fake being soulmates only to realize that they’re just as in love as they would be if it were predestined. I love when writers mess with the soulmate trope, and doggernaut is just so good.
That’s How the Light Gets In - Sherlock - by sylviarachel
This has been one of my all-time favorite fics for very nearly a decade now, which is utterly wild to realize, but it’s so deserved. This is an ace!Sherlock fic that helped me come to terms with my own asexuality, and my partner and I have been quoting it to each other since I read it to him a few weeks into our relationship. I don’t have words for how much this fic means to me.

there are many different authors i could choose from here, except for the slight issue of i mostly don't remember what was the first fic i read from y'all. except for my beloved @welcometololaland, because the one i found first was the first thing she wrote for rwrb. Speak for Yourself is amazing. it is serious and silly and heartfelt and features zahra as a bartender and some of my favorite june and nora around. and as a bonus it feels like my study abroad to me. side note: i looked back at comments from the first couple chapters and like, remember when we didn't all know each other? wild.

i'm just gonna rec two things from @liminalmemories21 because i can't remember which i found first, but it was definitely either Close your eyes, fall in love, stay there OR Two Paper Airplanes Flying. mostly i just remember staying up far too late one night reading like ten fics in a row because i fell in love so hard and fast with the writing.

These themes are so good, it's always hard to choose just one.
This week I'm going to recommend CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE - 4.02 Pregnancy Test Coda Fic by Poutini (@cheesecurdsgravyandfries). If you loved choose your own adventure books as a kid, you will enjoy this smutty version where you get to pick what happens during David and Patrick's night at Stevie's. It is amazing and so much fun! Poutini writes such hot, but incredibly insightful fics. I have been slowly reading through all their Schitt's Creek fics, but have been dragging my feet because I don't want to have read all their amazing words.
I haven't been on Tumblr much today, so I don't know who has or hasn't recommended something. I'm going to tag @mammameesh, @a-noble-dragon, @olinsghost, @apothecarose and anyone else who wants to play because I really want to read your recommendations!

I'm going to start off by saying that this is really hard. I've only been reading Schitt's Creek fanfiction for about a year, and started watching 911/lone star mainly due to mutals. SC has so many talented writers and I have about 100 pages marked for later so I'll get there.
Molten Glass Hearts by @januarium This was one of the first things I read for the Schitt's Creek Fandom, and it made me go back and read all their things. It's Idiots to lovers. It's sexy and sweet. Also, it has crafts in it....so.....

I love power dynamics in ships, and people who absolutely should not be together. I love people who could destroy one another if they chose to. Whose family or society would be horrified they are together. Bonus points if they are definitely fucking each other up, but continue anyway.
Dongfang Qingcang/Shangque - Love between fairy and devil Ghostship
I love the idea that Shangque is this ancient, powerful dragon but is utterly devoted to Qingcang, knows all his habits, looks after his little mood swings, let's him feel like he's in control even though he probably knows rightly how to manipulate him if he wanted to. Qingcang is the definition of cringefail edgy villain who tries not to show that he's squishy in the middle but only for the right people.
VegasKim - Kinnporsche Ghostship
I really don't care at all about the cousins angle here. When you take a step back and think, our weirdness about that is rooted in concerns around genetic risks and that's uh, not really an issue with same-sex stuff, y'know? Anyway, no, the bit that does it for me is that both families would be outraged, and that they are both utterly tough and unhinged about the family business and absolutely could destroy one another. And they are definitely fucking up each other's lives, ambitions, and self-identity.
Gahan - The Devil Judge main co-stars
Kim Gaon and Kang Yohan are so clearly into each other. So much fascination with each other, how the others operates, what motivates them, the grudging respect. But also just really hot for it. The roaming eyes on both sides when shirts are off. The moments of softness Yohan allows to slip out, the moments of brokenness and anger that Gaon suffers Yohan to witness, how they betray each other but are inexorably drawn together again anyway. I love the moment Yohan risks discovery to save Gaon. I love the moment Gaon risks his life to go down with Yohan. I love both gradually realising the other will come to rescue them, no matter what the risk. I love the age gap. I love how different they are, and how they are two broken pieces which fit together perfectly nonetheless. It's messy and beautiful.
Honorable mentions: WangXian ults, obvs. But I can't put them in every single one of these so I'm trying to branch out.
First ever ship - BtVS: Sprusilla
The second I laid eyes on Drusilla and her graceful, syrupy brand of crazy I was in love, and Spike is such a cringefail dark little villain I was always going to fall for him. They are perfect together. I wish they'd had a spin off series Bonnie&Clyde-ing all over Europe.

Just finished Physical: 100 (the women! 👀👀👀) and Moonlight Chicken (this was my first FourthGemini and I am SOLD, holy smokes).
Deciding now between The Glory, Interview with the Vampire (which I'm resuming at ep 5 after the friend I was watching with got distracted by his girl and I am tired of waiting), and I'll probably cave to My School President even though I hate school BLs because of the aforementioned FourthGemini. I'm also still in the middle of Taxi Driver and a rewatch of Magicians with a different friend.

It's been a really hard month so I've gone back to comfort food; so sweet and sour chicken, pad thai, garlic ramen. And still burning toast every time I come home drunk, lol.

I dunno. Friends who actually want to dance as something more than just pulling at the club? Skinship? An occasional twink to spoil? A deeper conversation? Carrot cake?

(This is hard because I don’t read in a path like that. Fascinating to me that people do.)
“Improv Piecing” by @my-nameless-bliss was an early, thrilling find for me when I started reading Schitt’s Creek fic two years ago. I love fabric, for starters. And I loved being in David’s head. I found it before I had an ao3 account, so I made a little list of fics I had read in my journal. For it I wrote: Oh shit David & his little scraps of fabric love he gets from sex fr though “But at least there are a lot of them, and they’re easy to find.” I mean. Fuck. Which now still seems about right and makes me laugh.
Anyway, I love all of nameless_bliss’s writing—the close third person, the fresh looks at canon events, the introspection balanced with careful dialogue, and the way it all sounds relaxed and flow-y like thoughts but somehow remains concise and focused. So go read it.
