ESTEBAN - "Well, now that you saw it, I suppose I should just take it back."
MARCO - "NO! I mean were you... ?"

MARCO - "You know I will."
ESTEBAN - "Okay then, let's go downtown, go the Clerk's office get the license and get married right now!"
MARCO - "Seriously?"
MARCO - "Yes, Of course I am being serious."

Marco and Esteban were excited as they told the kids what they had done that morning. Rosa seemed unphased. Milo congratulated them but Rafe didn't seem very happy about it at all.

They went to the clerk of courts, and were married in his office, then went out and had their own private ceremony. Now they are officially a married couple.

ESTEBAN - "We understand it is a difficult transition for all of us with this move, especially the three of you. But you cannot continue to pick at one another. And certainly not run to your grandmother's asking them to intervene into situations. You need to come to us, Both Marco and myself. We are all a team."
MARCO - "Then letting these things spill over into our school lives and work and including others into your arguments is unacceptable.
ROSA - Ms. Finnigan came to me dad, I didn't go to her..."
MARCO - "I understand that, Rosalie, but it should have never gotten to that point, right boys? And do not snicker, Miss, you started this a few days before by trying to start something by going to your grandmothers. Don't you realize we all talk to one another??"
ESTEBAN - "Infighting, arguing and trying to get at one another through school friends is not the way to take care of these issues. The three of you need to come to a realization that we are ALL a family. If we have to have this talk again, it's not going to be as pleasant, Groundings will be implemented."
The kids got up and went to their rooms.
MARCO - "So do you think we got through to them?"
ESTEBAN - "I certainly hope so. I do not want to punish them. They need to learn to get along."

JIMENA - "Milo Esteban! Listen very carefully. I know that change can be upsetting, but many times in our lives it is not always about you. It's about family. It's about being happy and living life to the fullest. Sharing a room is a very small price to pay to see you father happy. You can make this sacrifice for him, as can I. He has made many for us. And about this little Rosa, you just need to shower her with kindness. She'll come around in time."
Milo had nothing more to argue about and got out of his chair and went to give his dad a huge hug.
MILO - "Dad, you do what you feel is right. It always works out for the best for all of us. And Gigi, Rosa isn't like most people. Just so you know."

Not only did Esteban become an impressive detective at the police force, he and Marco soon became "parental" detectives. It was soon time for them to meet the culprits face on! They called the kids in for a "special" family meeting.

Esteban worked tirelessly as a Tartosa detective. Coming from San Myshuno Police Department crime was petty burglaries as opposed of the major crimes in the big city. But he soon gained an impressive reputation throughout police department and received the Position as the Sergeant and was over all the detectives.

NACHA - "I know that we've met Jimena and she seems like a nice woman, Lucile' but are we going to be able to handle another mom here?"
LUCILE - "Imagine what the sons are thinking. Three mothers? What have we gotten ourselves into?"
NACHA - "Milo seems like a very well-behaved boy. I think he will be good for Rafe."
LUCILE - "Rosalie is an entirely different story!"
NACHA - "Well, it's the first morning, I'd say we need to get the day going."
ESTEBAN - "I can't believe it's here! We are living under the same roof!"
MARCO- "It's real, I already pinched myself, it's not a dream."
The first morning and Marco and Esteban are happier than anyone else in the house. However, they knew it was not going to be easy at first. Blending families will take some love and patience. Especially with the children. Not to mention their mothers.
But Marco knew their biggest hurdle would be the young girl sleeping upstairs.
ROSA - "I don't even want to open my eyes and deal with any of this!! I think I will just stay in bed."

JIMENA - "Boys, it looks like this is goodbye to the old place."
ESTEBAN - "Milo, is everything out of your room?"
MILO - "Yessir!"
ESTEBAN - "Okay then this is the last load. A lot of memories are in this house. Your mother and I brought you from the hospital here, Milo."
MILO - "I do wish I would have known her."
JIMENA - "She was a good woman. Okay let's load up the truck and head out."
ESTEBAN - "You mean, Mio and I load the truck, right?"
MEANWHILE...
Nacha and Lucile' are discussing the new housemates that are heading their way.

MARCO - "I am beginning to wonder if moving in this soon may have been too fast for the kids."
ESTEBAN - "It's only been a few days. Give them time. Kids are resilient. "
MARCO - "Mom said Rosa came to her complaining that the boys were being mean to her. I think she was overexaggerating. But I know she is one that doesn't like change."
ESTEBAN - "Yes, my mom said she said something to her as well but tried to give her some advice to make her feel better. Mom agreed with you. She is just needing some attention. She suggested she take her shopping."
MARCO - "She would do that!? That would be wonderful. Rosa is a handful, always has been."
ESTEBAN - "Just wait until her and the boys turn 13! CHAOS!"
MARCO- "That is not that far away! We need to prepare. Even though there is probably nothing that can prepare us for that."

ESTEBAN - "Mom, I wanted to talk to you about something. I have been giving some thought. Well, Marco and I both have been considering us moving in with him and his family."
JIMENA- "Esteban! That is wonderful. It's a little sooner than I expected, but it is good news yes."
ESTEBAN - "You are okay with moving?"
JIMENA - "Darling, yes of course. You can't go without mama there to keep an eye on you and Milo. This home is a rental, and I certainly cannot afford it on my own, even if I wanted to stay. Yes, son this is good!
MILO - "What do you mean we are moving? In with the Castros? Does this mean I am going to have to share a room with Rafe, AND deal with his annoying sister? Don't I have a say in this? What if I don't want to move??"

TIME JUMP
NINE MONTHS
MARCO - "So, you want to spend the night?"
ESTEBAN - "I really wish I could, but not tonight. Sorry."
MARCO - "Don't apologize, I understand."
ESTEBAN - "Since mother moved in, I thought I would be able to stay over more often, but I suppose it's been even less lately."
MARCO - "I said no apologies, now come get in bed with me."
ESTEBAN - "Yes, that is what I was hoping you'd say."
Afterwards...
MARCO - "You know, Esteban, maybe we should start thinking about you moving in here. I mean Milo and Rafe get along very well, and Rosa is finally getting a little better."
ESTEBAN - "I'm not sure, Marco. Milo may be ready, but what about my mother. And do you even have room for us?"
MARCO - "I think your mother is more open-minded than you give her credit for. As far as room, have you SEEN all this house?"
ESTEBAN - "You really think Mother will be okay with all of us living together?"
MARCO - "Yes, I really do."
ESTEBAN - "If you really think so, then I will talk to her tomorrow!:
MARCO - "Really?"
ESTEBAN - "Yes, really."

By the time we got to the falls the sun was up, and it was already becoming very hot. Reminding me why I moved from Oasis Springs to Tartosa. I thought this was the best place as any to completely open up to Esteban, so I said it.
MARCO - "I really had a good evening, Esteban. I enjoy your company. I know you are gay and have been out a long time. But, all this is new to me. Over the years there have been times I knew, but I never accepted that I was attracted to men. You'd think having a mother that is bi-sexual I would have. I say all this to say, I really really like you and..."
ESTEBAN- "Marco, wait, I need to be completely honest with you..."
Here it was. He wasn't into me like that. I knew it. Now I had went too far.
ESTEBAN - "I need to let you know something. I have not had a partner for many years now. Since before Milo. He died and I never felt the way I felt about him, with anyone else. That was until I met you. From that first night we met, I felt something. I wanted to say something before now but I wasn't sure that you felt the same. Do not worry about this being new to you! We can take things as slow as you want. Most importantly is, I want you in my life regardless."
With that he pulled me close to him and kissed me.
So much for taking things slow. I pulled him closer to me and just held him. Nothing felt so right as it did that morning holding him in my arms.

It was already morning when Esteban dropped me off at the house. The twins were up and, in their rooms, getting ready for school, I thought...
Esteban kissed me goodbye, and I heard them!
ROSA / RAFE - "Ewww... gross! Dad, seriously? Awwwee come on, you should have done that outside BEFORE coming in here!"
Rafe who really never expresses his feelings was not shy that morning.
RAFE - "Already? I mean mother has not been dead that long, and now you are dating the investigator of her murder?"
I knew I was going to have to sit them down and explain all of this to them. Like right now! I said goodbye to Esteban and took them into the living room to discuss the turn of events.

While Rafe deals with his emotions, his father and the other adults are concerned about his reaction to the wedding. Nacha explains her view of what Rafe may be feeling.
NACHA- "Rafe is an emotional child, always has been. He doesn't like surprises. He has had a lot of them that weren't good surprises. Just give him time to see this was a good surprise."
Rosa on the other hand was sharing the news with everyone via her Simsbook post.
