30 Days of GW2 Challenge Day 1:

First (or oldest) and Newest Characters: Embers Brightecho and Lady Absinthe Woadtouch

Embers was my first ever character I made when I stepped into Tyria. Learning the game as a noob on a mesmer was challenge mode but totally worth it. Fun fact: I have not changed her face, nor mane or any other features at all since making her! Only her armor and spec has ever changed. Art featured is by a friend (Palaeosinensis @ Twitter) of one of Embers’ older looks before she became a Mirage. Newest character is technically me remaking an old character for the third and final time but as a different race, I think I’m finally sticking with this iteration. Lady Absinthe, my mad scientist supervillain norn.

I was taking a few quick screens for a pose ref to help with this commission I’m working on and used my lady Embers here and I had to stop and appreciate how she looks like the most hardass yoga instructor with this look.

A horrendously messy WIP, just cute kissy Charr ladies. This is pretty tame so I’m not shunting this one onto my NSFW blog. Stripey one is mine, spotty one is the wife’s.

Almost forgot about these screens I took last week while mucking about on Embers. Taken at the mountain pass around Kusini Crossing.

Mirage Weaving

Holy hell guys I squeezed in enough time to actually finish something! Been doing a lot of media experiments with ink recently. Some aspects I like, many I don't but not bad for something I managed fairly quickly and didn't want to pick at to death.

My Mirage Embers Brightecho (one with the stripes) and the spouse's Weaver Smokey Silvercenser (the spotted one).

2- What was your first characters race/class (profession)? 

Charr/Mesmer! In fact she still exists, I originally named her Embers Echo after a character that exists in my worldbuilding setting but her proper charr name is Embers Brightecho. I still play her, she’s still an active character that just sorely needs an excuse to be rp’d again. Outside of her armor and weapon skins, I have not touched her physical appearance at all since I made her almost 6 years ago.

31- Do you have a favourite dye? 

OH MAN I have so many dyes and I really do try to toss up my color options but there are some standbys I can’t help but use as recurring bases or accents for some palettes: Glossy Black, Blacklight, Bloodstone Indigo, most Enameled dyes (I love dyes that are metallic or have depth), Phthalo Blue, Electro Lime and Electro Lemon.

38- Best memory in guild wars?

Best most singular memory? That very first evening I finished downloading the game for the first time in September 2013 (it’s been that long?!), made my first character Embers up there and ran around the Plains of Ashford for the first time in utter awe of how the world felt and how organic and fluid my character moved around. Last time I ever felt like that about an MMO was in WoW. In retrospect this memory is amusing because at the time I was on a potato rig with potato graphics but the game was STILL gorgeous to me.
