To lead on the recruitment and selection of the City of London's Apprentices Scheme for all departments. The recruitment selection/Welfare Support co-ordinator will ensure that all learning and assessment processes are fully compliant with the operational needs of all departments. Student Support and Guidance will strive to reach every Apprentice to raise their educational and personal aspirations. Regular and ongoing IAG and counselling sessions will deliver to all Apprentices. To play an active part in the provision of welfare information and advice to Apprentices across all vocational training areas The post holder will be the first point of contact for students experiencing Welfare problems, and will be responsible for referring the student to the most appropriate source of support or most appropriate COL procedure. Main Duties and Responsibilities Work with the Quality Performance Manager to develop and implementa detailed recruitment and selection strategy to match the apprenticeship employment opportunities for young adults with the needs of internal line managers.To work with the apprenticeship delivery team to develop a full pre-screening selection and interviewing system for all apprentice vacancies. To ensure that line managers selection criteria requirements are fully adhered to when selection for interviews are being made.To develop an efficientsystem for referral for apprentices unsuccessful apprentice 4. To work one to one with apprentices who are potentially vulnerable or experiencing difficulties in order to help them to resolve their problems and Continue with their apprentice programme. To work within agreed service boundaries including confidentiality and the Data Protection Act. 5. As part of the Student Welfare team, the post-holder will be the main point of contact for general welfare enquiries from both students and staff. Playing an active role in apprenticeinductions. 6. To be responsible for the accurate record keeping of a student case load within the Customer Relationships Management (CRM) system, including responding to issues of Safeguarding and Prevent Strategy. 7. To work with the Quality and Performance Manager to co-ordinate an annual programme of at least two briefing seminars for COL directors and managers, explaining the unique recruitment and selection process on offer 8. To provide apprentice welfare support guidance and advice to COL Line Managers and apprentices. To maintain an up to date knowledge of employment vacancy opportunities, both internal and external to support apprentices who have successfully completed their apprenticeship. 9. To effectively respond to departments leads into Apprenticeship placement/employment opportunities and ensure the creation of apprenticeship positions with the City of London Corporation. Develop an apprentice vacancy board to display internal and external employment opportunities. 10. To develop and establish an appropriate system for recruiting and monitoring the progress of all scheme participants and address any issues arising in order to improve take-up and successful completion of Apprenticeship Schemes 11. To liaise with the National Apprenticeship Service to ensure that there is effective coordination between the needs of line managers and potential Apprenticeships and ensure that all learning and assessment processes are fully compliant with the operational needs of service. 12. To provide ongoing Outreach support to local community partners, academies, schools, job centres to deliver joint advertising recruitment and selection programmes as appropriate 13. To maintain a detailed knowledge of Corporation departments vacancies and work closely with line managers to increase knowledge of the Scheme and potential apprenticeship opportunities 14. To be jointly responsible with the Quality Performance Manager for the content of all Apprenticeship recruitment and selection material and the targeting of its distribution to appropriate organisations 15. To work with the Quality and Performance manager to contribute the production of a four monthly Apprenticeship newsletter 16. To identify appropriate advertising, Outreach and promotional opportunities for the Apprenticeship programme and develop additional advertising strategies with the COL Academies in order to maximise take-up. 17. To produce monthly activities report outlining the progress and continued development of the scheme and monitor and report on employment and training trends in order to inform future activities 18. Develop and maintain a close working relationship with internal COL departments in orderto promote the Apprentice Scheme and identify potential Apprenticeship vacancies.
