My favorite part of this Japanese CN bumper is the fact George Jetson literally recoils at the sight of anime.

Say that you want, but I have no regrets of saying that Scoob! is one of my favorite films. And it’s because of these two.
Tumblr media
And not just because of Jason Isaacs and Billy West’s performances, but the side plot of why Dastardly was trying to open the gates to the Underworld. Muttley, whether Dastardly will say it or not, is Dick’s best friend (probably the only one he has).
I just can’t stop watch this scene since day one of the film’s release.

It's my favorite part in the film. I swear when Dastardly starts to cry while apologizing to a presumed dead Muttley, it almost sounds like Jason broke down in tears while recording. I don't know if that's true or not, but you feel the human emotions coming out of Dastardly. I wanted to cry along with Dastardly. But when Muttley revealed himself to be alive.... I was like: "MUTTLEY! That wasn't very nice! You scared me!"

My brother visited and I drew this Dastardly and Muttley in their Mean Machine while we were all watching some episodes of "Wacky Races" together, which is the kind of thing that happens when someone visits me.

54/?? Childhood TV Shows You Should Watch

Title: Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines
Episodes: 17
Run Time: 22 Mins
Synopsis:
In Germany, Dick Dastardly and Muttley, the villains from Wacky Races, are now flying aces in World War I-styled airplanes and members of the Vulture Squadron, on a mission to stop a messenger pigeon named Yankee Doodle Pigeon from delivering top-secret messages to an opposing army. The other members of the Squadron are Klunk, an inventor who speaks an unintelligible language, and Zilly, a panicky pilot whose main role is to translate for Klunk.
Each story features variations on the same plot elements: the Vulture Squadron sets out to trap Yankee Doodle Pigeon. Inevitably, either the plan is flawed, or one or more of the Squadron messes up. By the end of every story, Yankee Doodle Pigeon escapes while the Vulture Squadron is often left in backfiring predicaments.
The show also featured Wing Dings, short clips with jokes, and Magnificent Muttley, where Muttley encounters Walter Mitty-esque daydreams.
My Rating: 8/10
To be honest, I don't quite like this spin-off as much as the Wacky Races itself. It's not that it's bad at all, but there just aren't as many characters or dynamics between characters. So, I guess, in that way, it's not as entertaining to me.
I still love Muttley the most haha. I do like the concept, but it seems like it could have been fleshed out a little bit more. (off-topic: but does anyone else not like that word "flesh" haha)
Anyway, I do believe you would enjoy it. Especially if you like Wacky Races. So, check it out.

Driving Meme
My first art of the year, and it's a meme. This is a great start, I had a lot of fun with this and experimented a bit with the lineart and coloring for it. You can see the original meme prompt here: https://x.com/captaintaco2345/status/1739715861429252546?s=20

My Young!Gru fanfic idea:
This idea is actually similar to the other fic I wrote years ago, mainly His childhood idol to Megamind. (Yeah, it’s an old fic. I was improving my written English, but there are still weird sentences.)
But while Megamind used to watch Pinky and the Brain and idolized Brain, Gru is an older supervillain so he grew up with a different Villain Pratogonist idol, namely - Dick Dastardly.
So one day when Gru was watching Wacky Races reruns, Wild Knuckles came in and got curious about the show. It just so happened that the episode they were watching was the one where Dick Dastardly wins the race only to get disqualified. Wild Knuckles found it a total bullshit and thought that Dick should have won (an opinion Gru shared), nevertheless, every time when Wacky Races were on TV, WK found himself watching it with the kid. At some point Nefario got sucked too and they both were getting as worked up over the plot as if it were real races, even commenting the actions of Dick and other racers.
At first Gru didn’t like Dick Dastardly (if only because the guy was stereotypical ineffective villain), but he later found himself rooting for him. Meanwhile Nefario really liked Pat Pending and Wild Knuckles found the Ant Mob Gang kind of cool, but all three supervillains didn’t like Peter Perfect (for obvious reasons). At some point Wild Knuckles came to realization that Dick Dastardly is bad villain representation, and at first he wanted to bomb Hanna Barbera headquarters, but after long persuation from Gru (who didn’t want to lose his favorite cartoons; besides Wild Knuckles was supposed to be dead to the public) he settled for writing a very angry, filled with vague threats letter.
Then they discovered Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines and found it a bit more enjoyable (although Wild Knuckles felt uncomfortable watching Muttley betraying Dastardly).
