on the topic of egos birthdays

So, I’ve noticed the fandom tends to say “oh it’s _____’s birthday!!” on the anniversary of the upload of an ego’s first appearance.

Which, like, sure. Might as well. Especially for the egos that don’t definitely have “real” birthdays.

But it’s canonically wrong.

For example, the charity livestream from which Eric Derekson originates aired on Dec 1st, 2018, but Eric states he’s a Libra, meaning his actual birthday is somewhere between (according to the internet) Sept 22nd and Oct 22nd.

So I’ve been puzzling and puzzling over this, because I’d love to be able to celebrate the egos’ birthdays but I can’t bring myself to do so on a substitute date. But then I realized something! We can, at least, figure out Dark’s canonical birthday -- who, unfortunately, I feel is the ego least likely to want to celebrate their birthday, but this is all I’ve got so there.

Anyway, this hinges on WKM, which has a metacanonically confirmed date. At the end of Chapter 1, when we look at the Chef’s security feed, the first clip is from 1:08 AM on October 10th, 2017. Now, if you haven’t seen the explanation livestream I’ll save you the 11 hrs, but Mark was like 1) yeah the security footage is backdated so you know these events were taking place a few days before the party 2) wait FUCK I put 2017 FUCK I didn’t mean to do that. So, metacanonically, we know the party took place on 10/09/???? (worth noting the year is fanonically 1920ish) and MOST of the events of WKM take place on 10/10, from waking up after the party up until the DA’s death (and let’s gloss over that b/c I don’t want to be sad right now) -- BRINGING US TO THE NEXT MORNING.......... WHEN DARKIPLIER FORMS........ ON 10/11...... THEIR BIRTHDAY.

TL;DR Dark’s the only ego w/ a (meta)canonical birthday and it’s 10/11.
