Please meet, returning AD ART SHOW 2020, artist, Daniel Scharfman who is also an independent Design Director based in New York City. “This work is part of a series I call Sightings 1973. It was a historically eventful year with among other things Watergate and the Vietnam War. Coincidentally there were also an unusual amount of UFO sightings and supposed abductions in 1973 -- even Jimmy Carter reported a sighting. These painting are based on photographs I made that year, a year that was personally one of unsettling anxiety for me. These portraits indicate a presence that lives outside the frame...” Sightings 1973: Stewart, 2020 Acrylic on tyvek (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBYx1l4HdcY/?igshid=tyhzk3ybfl5m
