My grandma bought me a new light for my fish tank as an early birthday gift! I'm so excited, it's supposed to get here today! It's a chihiro wrgb II slim! I'm going to be able to have red plants now! I ordered a bunch of new aquatic plants because almost all the ones I had previously died from a lack of light.

The plants I'm most excited about are the Cryptocoryne Wendtii 'Florida Sunset' and the Cryptocoryne Wendtii 'Flamingo'. Both are pink! The Florida Sunset reminds me of a Philodendron Strawberry Shake. The Flamingo is just tissue cultured babies and I heard they can be difficult to start, but I hope they do well because it's such a lovely, striking shade of pink!

I've been considering getting a CO2 system for my 37g but I'm kind of intimidated by it. I want my plants to be the best they possibly can be, though.

While I was disappointed with the Cryptocoryne wendtii 'florida sunset' I ordered, I'm super happy with the Cryptocoryne wendtii 'flamingo' I got! Such a cute shade of blush pink! I assume the pink will only get more intense the more light it receives.

I haven't planted them as I'm not sure which tank I'm putting them into yet. I'm going to wait until my Chihiro light arrives to see how much it brightens my big tank before deciding. I assume they'll be fine in their tissue culture cup under a grow light until Friday when my lights are set to arrive.

I'm a little nervous about planting them - I heard they can be difficult to start from tissue culture. I wanted an established plant, but the website I was ordering from wanted $44 for one on sale! That's almost double what they go for in the states!

I actually want to try growing a section emersed, but I'm not sure the best way to go about doing that so I'm researching it now.
