“let me take care of you, for once.”
In little more than an hour’s time, a thick blanket of snow covered the small village north of Crosswych. Days they’d been travelling, fighting through the weather to reach the northernmost region of High Rock, and Solurion couldn’t help but curse the snow. Perhaps, if he had been more conscious of his use of magicka in the days preceding the journey, he might have used a portal and he and his student might have already been in Shornhelm at his granddaughter’s townhome.
The mer folded his arms over his chest and shifted down in the bed at the gentle rebuke. “There is no need for that sort of talk,” he grumbled, milky eyes turning away from the shorter aura before he was interrupted by a short burst of coughing. “This is all because of the weather, I’m sure of it” He frowned and turned an ear to the window. “Is that horrid stuff still falling, or will we be able to travel tomorrow?” Solurion scoffed and leaned on an elbow. “To think, I was actually curious about this... snow at one time.”

HAVE SOME WONKY DRAWINGS OF MY TES MAINS
dd
Tumblr media
Name: Kjell
Game: Morrowind
Story: Kjell is a smooth-talking Nord thief who clearly isn’t looking for trouble, so why would you ask that? Sure, he’s heard tremors of trouble in the Dark Elves’ land, but he’s really not concerned about any of that and he really just wants to get out of this lava pit and back to all the rich, oblivious people back home who really don’t need their valuables.
Notes: He’s a charmer and a bit of a flirt, who uses his strong looks to both intimidate enemies and woo allies. He’s absolutely devoted to Nocturnal and a hardcore lifer in the Thieves’ Guild.
Tumblr media
Name: Leloriil
Game: Oblivion
Story: Leloriil is from a very old, traditional Altmer family, but his quest for knowledge has taken him down a darker path than what was initially laid out for him. The Daedric Princes are who he believes will teach him all he needs to know about the world, and he’ll find a way to them, no matter what it takes. Thanks to his cushy upbringing, he’s very bad at covering his tracks, and so wound up thrown in jail after a ritual went terribly wrong. He’s not sure about his missive from Emperor Uriel Septim, but he can smell daedric influences and wants to learn more about this crisis.
Notes: Let’s say the eyes in the background are representative of his paranoid yet inquisitive nature and not me forgetting to erase the practice eyes. Leloriil is constantly on edge and always looks like he’s on the brink of collapse from some form of illness. Whether that’s from his own mental health deteriorating from looking into the abyss or from infernal influences, it’s not a cute look. He doesn’t follow a particular prince, but wishes to meet Hermaeus Mora the most.
Tumblr media
Name: Cæna
Game: Skyrim
Story:   Cæna really wants to be a bard. This is literally all he wants. He just wants to go to the bard college and spend his life singing in inns. He doesn’t expect to be captured for having the audacity of being a Breton and crossing the border. He doesn’t expect to be able to yell dragons to death. He honestly didn’t want to be a champion for like every daedra. He firmly draws the line at becoming the head of the Thieves’ Guild. Honestly, this is all too much for him to really handle; he just wanted to go to Solitude to go to the Bard’s College,  and when he gets there with all of his daedric artifacts in tow, what happens? They don’t even teach him how to play. He pouts a lot and almost decides to Oblivion with it all and lay waste to the whole thing, but that’s not his style. So he just sits in his Nightingale uniform and pouts in the shadows. Notes: My very first TES character, and probably my favorite. Fun fact: I loved him so much he became the main character in my original script I wrote for my masters.

Name: Aelanne “Smiteface” Bertault
Game: Elder Scrolls Online
Story: Raised by her Breton father in the small village of Crosswych, Aelanne knew from the get-go that she wasn’t quite like the other children. After years of relentless teasing, she made it her mission to go visit her mother’s homeland of Morrowind and find out more about her Dunmer family history. So far, the trail’s gone cold, but she doesn’t give up hope. Besides, journeying outside of her little village is a great joy in and of itself--soul or no soul. Sure, she knows Molag Bal needs to be dealt with, but...maybe just a /little/ bit longer in Riften before she takes that task. Notes: Aelanne Smiteface was the name of my first DnD character and was initially who I planned to play as in Skyrim, but she’s doing quite well in ESO. She’s on friendly terms with the Thieves Guild and outlaw refuges, and she has a feeling that Nocturnal is giving her a good amount of luck. She just hopes it doesn’t run out.

Name: Leana Cantillon Location: The Saddle and Stirrup, located in the town of Crosswych. By the time I heard there was trouble at Crosswych, it was too late for me to turn around. Red Rook Bandits are a nasty lot, and before I knew it I was somehow leading the charge for the resistance. When we had finally finished washing the blood off the streets, Leana was happily back to work at her stables. As a Crosswych local, she was very thankful that I had been there to help. I recounted the story of how I (almost single-handedly, I might add!) defeated the bandit threat. She listened to my story, obviously enthralled by my dashing heroism, then tried to sell me a horse. In the end, I suppose it was foolish to hope for a discount, even though I'd helped liberate the town. It’s fine. As the Hero of Crosswych, I don’t need any special treatment. Still though, it would have been nice of her to offer. 4/10

Old Fell’s Fort
The Bitterhand Bandits have set up camps in abandoned delves and old Breton ruins throughout Rivenspire, just like this one at the Old Fell’s Fort.  Much like the Red Rooks in Northern Glenumbra, the cut-throat gang have been able to operate on the highways and rural lands of the region without fear of interference or reprisal from local authorities, whose capability to defend their people has been hamstrung by the Montclair’s treachery, and their ongoing commitments to the Three Banners War.
Unlike the Red Rooks however, who overran the remote town of Crosswych, and sought alliance with Angof and his Bloodthorn Cult, the Bitterhands have shown little ambition beyond preying upon unwary travellers, and under-protected small towns.  I wonder if they even know the threat the Montclair’s nefarious intentions poses to all life in Rivenspire.  Surely even they have had to fight back the bloodfiend scourge; and what protection are crumbling fort walls against the blood-curse that so swiftly devoured the once secure and sheltered town of Crestshade?
