Okay not going to lie, I picked up this series on a whim thinking it was going to be 100% trash anime and lesbian wrongs. I’m not 100% incorrect on that but around ep 10 I actually started to get invested in the plot unironically. Tag line is basically non magic users are seen as sub human by magic users and are sent off to fight a slave war against dragons. But seeing a character going 100% from royalty dripping in the dogma to experiencing the full effects of the system they were propped up by and turning to direct action and rallying I think might have a positive effect on showcasing revolutionary mindsets. I mean this is still trash anime and if the plot dissolves from here then whatever, but this little moment really resonated with me.

Been watching Symphogear (Awesome show, hard recommend), and a thought comes to mind regarding another traumatized ace fighter who fights using super-tech powered by song.
Specifically, Ange from Cross Ange.
If you think about it, the Villkiss, and really, any Ragna-Mail would qualify as a relic, what with technically being a "weapon of god."
Now consider how a pilot needs to sync with the machine, and consider how its most powerful functions are sealed behind a song-activated lock.
Now consider that a Symphogear is a battle-armor that requires synchronization with its wielder, uses a shard of a relic as its core, and is powered by song.
All I'm saying is that Ange in Villkiss-themed armor absolutely wrecking shop while belting out Kindan no Resistance is an awesome thing to imagine.

I’ve said before that the only functional matriarchy is in MLP:FiM. This is because people honestly have no idea why patriarchy works. Therefore their attempts to subvert it are completely lost.
In My Little Pony, friendship is quite literally magic. The princesses get their power from the trust of the people, hence making conscientiousness and agreeableness the most important factors when ruling. They also made the stallions less ambitious than men, and as such are quite content to simply find a their true, (magically gifted), path, and live their lives. This makes a functional matriarchy.
I have found a second, unfortunately, explaining the details of the society involves HEAVY spoilers. The Dragon Civilization from CROSS ANGE. How this works is that the males don’t need to eat. They survive off what we can call magic science power. As such, they live apart from greater dragon society. Or, a better way of putting it, dragon society largely exists for creching. While they are exploring the ruins to better their civlization, they don’t have a robust society. The males simply leave the society to it’s fringes. Since they are dragons, they can easily return when needed, and normally head any attacks and defence. This makes a fully functional matriarchal society.
