re: being an ultimate dirk defender—i try not to take this shit too seriously for the sake of my own mental health but lmao it's hard to resist the urge to defend to the death the fact that ultimate dirk is NOT a transphobe. like, objectively. he's not transphobic!! LOL
As much as I'd like to believe he isn't (speaking as a trans person), it's way more implied that he is rather than he isn't
Tumblr media
In Meat 19 aka the Jade, Roxy and Calliope gender discussion chapter we get a whole speech from this guy after Roxy comes out as non-binary. He says he's got no problem with it but it all comes off as very insincere and sarcastic
Tumblr media
After that, he brings up Jade's thoughts on the topic and how she has her own concerns and she doesn't seem too sure about it, and he calls them 'reasonable', and says he'll be staying away from the topic.
Tumblr media
But he immediately continues to make weirdly sarcastic comments on gender and even throws a 'woke' in there (good lord rereading this is making me physically cringe)
Tumblr media
We also get this from him later in the bonus where he (sigh) brings up wokeness in a negative context so clearly he's got a few opinions of his own that don't look to be all that great.
However Meat 36 when Terezi corrects him misgendering Roxy and states he's going by he/him now he doesn't make as much a fuss as he did when they mentioned being non-binary, so he might just have an issue with genders that aren't either boy or girl? Which kind of makes sense considering he's part Lord English / Doc Scratch, two dudes who enforced the dual stereotypical human gender roles onto a genderless race of aliens, and also part Caliborn due to them + Lil Cal, a guy with very strong misogynistic views on gender and seems to think there's only two of them to choose from, the better masculine one he identifies with and the shittier girly one Calliope associated themself with.
So far we haven't really got much of a sincere objectively true statement on his views on gender from him but all of his conversations regarding it look pretty negative. I believe to some degree he's transphobic but I understand if you interpret it otherwise, since for now without his actual opinion it's all subjective and piecing little implications together
