⚡️ Go BIG in St. Petersburg: DEADLINE JULY 22! ⚡️ @biginkprints is visiting @moreanartscenter on 719 Central Ave, and you can be part of the fun: A two-day event where large-scale woodblock plates will be printed on BIG INK's giant mobile etching press "The Big Tuna." BIG INK is seeking image proposals from artists who would like to carve a woodblock, at least 24" x 36" inches in dimension, to print during the bonanza. BIG INK's program is geared towards all experience levels. Artists who wish to achieve a deeper understanding of printmaking are welcome to apply. Participants have the support and encouragement of their peers while gaining scale and ambition in their work. Artists must first submit an image proposal for consideration. This is what is due by July 22 – no carving necessary until you are approved. Those selected will have two months prior to the event to carve their woodblock design. Each artist brings a fully carved and ready to print woodblock on their assigned printing day. Participants and the BIG INK crew work together to print each woodblock during a public demonstration. All consumable materials including paper, ink, cleaning supplies, equipment, and photography of the finished work are included with participation. BIG INK provides a comprehensive educational series which includes over 70 minutes of video instruction. Step-by-step tutorials explain preferred materials and methods including plywood types, image transferring, carving, creating textures, fixing mistakes, tool maintenance, incorporating power tools, and more. BIG INK remains in contact providing technical support when needed and offering advice on pricing and exhibiting finished prints. Celebrate each print that comes off the press, in a beautiful Florida gallery, and produce high-quality work that can later be used for sale and exhibition. Join us and learn the intrinsic value of this amazing print process. Apply today! Deadline: July 22 Event Dates: Sept 28 & 29 Max Woodblock Size: 40" x 96" inches ✅ Link: www.bigink.org/apply ✅ #callforart #callforentry #callforproposals #callforprintmakers #bigink #art #artevent #printmakingevent #woodworking (at Morean Arts Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz78OQalgLA/?igshid=zmlf514xtvcs

News for your kitchen One look at Natalie Broach’s Florida home and it becomes immediately apparent that every room has been designed with intention. From neutral pallets to understated decor selected with the utmost care, this bright home is as much of a joy to photograph as it is to view. Before settling down in Jacksonville, Florida, photographer and small-business owner Natalie Uprichard ventured overseas to Paris and Venice where she undertook some personal projects photographing the beautiful cities of Europe. Since then, she has become a featured artist on West Elm and Minted with prints for sale, and started her own photography business where she makes her living photographing weddings, engagements, and staging maternity photoshoots. Enjoy taking in every detail of Natalie’s tour and learn some useful DIYs for designing with a new baby in mind, where to find great decor pieces, and how to maintains a minimalist aesthetic like a pro.   Name: Natalie Uprichard, Natalie Broach Photography Age: 32 Square Footage: 2,056 Rent or Own: own City/State: Jacksonville, Florida   What was your first job and how did you land it?   My first job out of college was working as head photographer at a megachurch called Celebration. I applied for a job in their communications department, and when they saw one of my skills was photography, they hired me to run that department. With a church that size, photography played such a huge role with the need of social media images, websites, weekly series, book covers, and campus coverage. I did all of this while running my own photography business on the side.   You now run your own wedding and lifestyle photography business. What was it like following your passion and starting a business?   As I was working at the church, I was able to still run a business on the side. To this day I still don’t know how I managed both, but photography was my passion, so I worked super hard so I could build my business up. Once my photography business started turning full time, I knew it was time to leave my job at the church and give my business a real shot. Yes, it was scary, but if I didn’t take the risk I never would be where I am today. I still remember thinking, “What if I don’t have enough clients and gave up a full-time, steady job for this?” Thankfully, I had the biggest supporter: my husband! He assured me it would be OK even if that was the case and thankfully it was not. My business took off and I was busier than ever and loving every single day!   You’ve photographed all over the world, tell us about your time in Paris and Northern Ireland.    Getting to travel has been by far one of the best experiences in my life.  A few months after college, I had the opportunity to go to Northern Ireland for an internship at a church plant. (This was the same church I later ended up working for when I moved back to Florida.) I was a bit nervous to move to another country, but I hadn’t landed a job yet, I was young, and nothing was holding me back, so I went for it! I am so glad I did, because this is where I met my husband! Thankfully, I married someone who loves to travel just as much as me and we’ve gone to some pretty amazing places together — with my camera, of course! I have photographed a few weddings and other sessions in Northern Ireland, Hawaii, New York, and then did some personal work in Paris and Venice. Some of my photography can even be purchased at West Elm and Minted.       You’ve been in your current home now for four years, how did you go about purchasing this home?   Purchasing your first home can be exciting and intimidating at the same time. We had been married for two years and one of the biggest pushes for us was that we were tired of apartment living. We seemed to have the worst luck — the first one turned into the biggest mold nightmare and the second apartment had the thinnest walls and noisiest neighbors. We were over it and felt it was just time! We knew we didn’t want a fixer upper because at the time I was working two jobs, so we just didn’t have time for it. We decided after all of our apartment issues we had in the past, we wanted something new and something we could (somewhat) control. After several months of searching and looking at every single model home, we found the floorpan and neighborhood that was perfect for us.    What was your approach to designing your new home?    When it came time to designing our home, I felt so overwhelmed with all of the options and styles these days. I started walking around sores to look at what color schemes and furniture I liked. I started noticing I gravitated to anything white, gray, or in the neutral family. I did buy a lot of our bigger pieces from Pottery Barn or West Elm, but then would add accent pieces from places like H&M home, Home Goods, and Target. This enabled us to be able to decorate while remaining on a budget.     Were there any quirks to the house that you needed to mitigate during the design process? If so, tell us about them.   Due to opting out of some of the upgrades for the home, it came with standard carpet and vinyl flooring as well as a cream wall color. It was awful, and thankfully the carpet was the first to go. Installing wood floors completely changed the entire look of our main living area, which we later carried out through the rest of the house. It’s crazy to think what wood floors and new paint color can really do for your design process.   You’ve mentioned that you wanted your home to be like a breath of fresh air — tell us how you achieve that aesthetic.    I wanted our home to feel like a fresh of breath air and to be extremely calming. Don’t get me wrong: I love color, and I love when I see it in other people’s homes. But for me, I just knew I needed a light color scheme and a minimal approach. For me, less is more. By choosing grays and whites while adding a few pops of green from plants or a little color in our rugs, I was able to create my perfect style home. People always say that my home feels calming when they enter it, and that’s exactly what I was going for!   What were some of the first improvements and design projects you took on after you moved in?   When we first moved in, we painted the main living space a nice shade of gray and had the carpet removed and replaced with wood floor. Then we began smaller projects like adding subway tile to the kitchen and replacing light fixtures. After a few years, we tackled some bigger projects like adding wood floors to the remaining rooms in the home, putting marble tile in the master bathroom, and adding frame molding to our bedroom.     You’ve masterfully designed every element of your home around minimalism, what do you think is the most important thing to consider to successfully achieve this look?   I think the most important thing to consider when going for a minimalistic approach for your home is to only fill it with pieces you absolutely love. Rather than buying a bunch of decor pieces for the sake of filling a space, I would take my time and search for items that I loved rather than just liked. There were times I went several months without things but I knew it would pay off in the end when I was able to achieve the look I was going for.   Intention also feels like an important element of minimalist design. What is your approach to making decisions about decor? Is there a method to finding the perfect dining room chair for your space or the perfect frame-to-mat ratio for your favorite art?   When it came time to pick out things such as dining room chairs, I knew I wanted them to be stylish yet functional. I’m also extremely big on comfort — if it isn’t comfortable, I’m not buying it. I always envisioned having lots of dinner parties, and I wanted our chairs to be comfortable so guests weren’t anxiously waiting for dinner to be over to migrate to the couch. This was my approach for other things in our home as well. For instance, I didn’t want a rug to just be pretty, I wanted it to serve the right purpose in the room. We went with a shag rug in our living room to not only make it more cozy, but also so we were OK with sitting on it for game nights. When it comes to for picture frames, I like clean lines. I chose to go with a collage in our dining room, but kept them lined up. By going with a larger mat and smaller image, it gives it that minimalist look I love!     What is your favorite element of the house?   Some of my favorite elements in our house are the pieces of furniture I refurbished that I found either on Craigslist or inherited from my grandmother. She had these really great modern console and chest pieces that were a cherry wood that I painted white with their original, gold knobs. I just love how they look in the spaces of our home, and knowing they were my grandmother’s makes it extra special. One of my grandmother’s pieces is in my favorite room of the house: the nursery! I was able to use it for the chaining table and it turned out beautiful!   Where are some of your favorite places to shop for decor?   Some of my absolute favorite places to shop for decor are Pottery Barn, West Elm, Ballard Design, Target, and H&M Home.   What advice would you give to someone that is feeling the urge to redesign their home in a major way? It’s a big undertaking and often, once you’ve finished the project, you’re able to reflect more easily on what you wish you’d done differently. Tell us what knowledge you’ve gained after a few years of tweaking your home.   The best advice I can give someone who is wanting to redesign your home is to take it one step at a time and choose what you love. Don’t feel pressured to design it any other way than what works for you. Yes, Pinterest and interior blogs are very helpful, but don’t let that change the way you want your space to feel and look. I once painted our guest bedroom accent wall a dark navy because I saw it on a blogger’s page and her house was gorgeous. It turned out great, but I was never settled on it because it simply wasn’t my style. I knew in order for me to feel content with that room and love it, I had to change it. So my dear husband had the privilege of repainting the wall to white only few months after. Now the room is designed with my neutral, minimalist style and it feels more like me. At the end of the day, you are the one living in the space, so do what you love and don’t worry if it takes a while to get there. Design is a process, so enjoy it!       You’re expecting your first baby, congratulations! How has becoming a mother-to-be influenced your approach to design?   Thank you! I’ve always had our children in mind when decorating our home, which is why I chose a lot of pieces that were functional and not just stylish. Thankfully it really has never kept me from choosing colors and pieces I love. People are always asking me if all the white in my house makes me nervous with a baby on the way, and the answer is no. I’ve learned already after a few incidents with our puppy, that most everything can be cleaned. We also want to raise our children to respect our home and the things in it.   Can you specifically talk about that beautiful framed piece in the nursery? Where did you get the inspiration and how did you execute that project?   I originally got the framed wall idea for the nursery from Pottery Barn. I was casually looking at baby items online when I stumbled across it. They had a floral wallpaper filling theirs, but for me, I knew that was too busy. I began looking on Etsy for simple wallpaper and found a ton I saw on Pinterest, but I didn’t want a copycat nursery. I wanted something soothing, unique, and for it to be a place I would want to rock my baby to sleep in everyday. I thankfully found the peel-and-stick wallpaper we have now, which is light pink with a white polka dot design. I had my husband build the frame molding and together we placed each panel of wallpaper within the frame. I’m still amazed at how awesome he’s been at teaching himself how to do all of these projects I seem to come up for us to do!   What are the next renovations or DIY projects you’re excited to take on?   After living in our house for four years now, I can say we are 95 percent done with all of our home projects, and it feels so good! We only have a few hallways I’d like to add artwork to or change out a few things with some updates here and there.         What do you think is a highly underrated decor item that can do wonders to elevate a home? For instance vases, light fixtures, curtains, etc.   I think one of the most underrated decor pieces in the home is definitely curtains! The length, color, and pattern can really make or break your entire design in a room. I personally prefer my curtains to start at the top of the ceiling and lightly touch the floor — this gives the illusion that the room is bigger than it actually is. I also prefer solid colors because I think they are timeless — plus, you don’t have to worry about it going out of style.   You mentioned that you really like to introduce little bursts of color into your color palette with house plants! What are some of your favorite plants to keep?   Some of my favorite plants to add pops of color in our home are succulents, cat palms, and fiddle leafs. I opted for a faux fiddle leaf from West Elm for our living room due to the fact that I could never seem to keep the real ones alive, but the other plants in our home have thankfully survived. I also have a few faux floral arrangements in other areas of the house just to add a little something extra to the space.   And finally, what advice would you give to your 22-year-old self?   If I could give advice to my 22-year-old self, it would be to not stress when my life plan doesn’t work out the way I wanted. I’m so glad it didn’t, because I ended up with a much better life than what I had originally planned for. It may have taken a few extra years to get where I am today, but it was all worth it.       Natalie Uprichard is The Everygirl… How do you unwind at the end of the day? Florida Coastal Condo Interior Design
Beautifully designed by the talented interior designer Lisa Michael Interiors, LLC (previously featured here – you need to see it!), this vacation condo located in North Palm Beach features resort-style living with Moroccan flair. Here, the designer shares more insights about this project:
“The water club way project is unique in that it transports the homeowners to the feeling of being in an exotic locale. Through the use of color, texture, materials, and specialty paint applications, the finished look pulls from various design genres that coexist together giving the home an eclectic collected feel. The living areas within the condo were designed to create an experience for the homeowners, each possessing its own unique identity and sense of place. The condo has a tropical and exotic feel, but also an ethnic flair with a contemporary bohemian twist.”
I hope you get inspired and transported to this special place.

Who misses Key West Race Week? Stock Images of Quantum Key West Race Week-January 2017. Tuesday 2nd day of racing with a suburb breeze of around 17 knots from a south east direction. Hosted by Storm Trysail Club, Key West, FL, from January the 15th - 20th. Key West Race Week is a major sailing regatta held each year in January in Key West. Photos of the daily racing and action out on the water. Key West, an island city, is part of the Florida Keys and the state's southernmost point, lying roughly 90 miles north of Cuba. Famed for its pastel-hued, conch-style houses and laid-back attitude, it’s a cruise-ship stop also accessible from the mainland via the Overseas Highway. It’s known more for its coral reefs – destinations for diving and snorkelling – than for its beaches. Stock images of Key West race week. Couture USA Team Profile Series: Photographer Lydia Challenger
In the business of designer retail, it goes without question that looks are absolutely everything! From detailed product shots to coming up with thumbs-up worthy content for our blog and social media handles, the creation of visual content is crucial to creating the WOW factor that catches the eyes of our customers and requires a great deal of patience and inherent creativity. In house photographer and web designer Lydia Challenger is not new to the world of art and design. Developing a passion for capturing the moment at an early age, Challenger graduated from the University of Florida with a BFA in Art with a concentration in photography. She has worked in various sectors of creative fields, from shooting weddings and dance performances to digitally restoring old photos and negatives. In this feature of the Couture USA Team profile series, we sit down with Challenger who gives us further insight to her background and creative process, even sharing some words of wisdom to the aspiring photographer!
What sparked your interest in photography?
My sister and I got matching cameras for our birthdays when I was about 8 years old and I immediately fell in love. I shot 35mm film and the rolls would pile up on our kitchen counter until my mom would take them all to be developed. It would be so exciting to get those negatives back and I still feel that way each time I sift through a batch of images after a shoot. There are always a few gems in each group that I am really proud of.
How would you describe your wardrobe style?
I would wear evening gowns and high heels every day of my life if I could, but realistically my style is more like young professional meets a field of wildflowers. I believe in lots of patterns (especially floral), bright colors, dresses for every occasion, heirloom jewelry, and good pairs of jeans.
What interested you in becoming a part of the Couture USA team?
At any given time, there is a pile of old fashion magazines in my room that I could look at over and over again. Getting to work with the clothing and accessories that I admire in those pages has been a dream. My favorite thing is mixing our inventory into the Couture USA team's individual styles to create mini lifestyle shoots for our social media accounts, which if you are reading this and you don’t follow yet please do!
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, & Twitter to see all of our photos taken by Lydia!
What are your favorite pieces to shoot?
I enjoy all the posts that I do for the blog and Instagram the most because I get to move away from my white backdrop and let my creativity run wild.  My coworkers are my favorite subjects and they have quickly become the stars of our social media pages. We each have such unique styles and have a blast working together to accessorize with our inventory. I hope seeing bags and jewelry in the context of an entire outfit helps to inspire our customers to create their own. Be sure to tag us when you do!
  Who is your favorite designer?
It's so hard to pick just one! I think I have loved every Chloe bag that we've gotten during my 3 years at Couture so that is definitely in the running. I am also a huge Epi leather Louis Vuitton fan and carry my brown Noe bag almost every day.
How would you describe your creative process for creating content for the website and our social media accounts?
Most often, I am sticking to a seasonal or sale theme, but occasionally I imagine the kind of person that would use each item and try to add accessories or clothes to match that imagined personality. The audience that we cater to is as diverse as our inventory so I try to keep our social media feeds fresh and ever-changing.
Scroll down to shop Lydia's favorites!
Outside of your work, what are some of your favorite places/things to shoot?
Portraits are my absolute favorite. There is no better feeling than taking a photo of someone that makes them feel confident and beautiful. When I see my photos on social media, someone’s refrigerator, or even better, framed on their grandma’s wall, I know I did something good. I have also danced since I was young, so I enjoy doing portraits of dancers and have had the opportunity to photograph many of them in the last few years. It is a wonderful blend of my two favorite things.
What advice would you give to anyone interested in pursuing a career in photography?
Always push yourself to shoot in different lighting conditions. If you shoot in the studio, it is very easy to get comfortable being able to control your lights or, if you are shooting outdoors, to always shoot clients at the same places or at the same time of day. The more you vary your lighting, the more fluidly you’ll adapt to any scenario you encounter going forward. Also, build a portfolio of your best shots and create a website to submit with any job applications. Don't be afraid to ask your fellow creators to take a look and help you refine what you have.
Describe a typical day for you at Couture USA
By the time an item is ready to be photographed, it has already been priced, cleaned, and made photo-ready. I have two different setups, one larger with a mannequin and one smaller table set up that I work with throughout the day. I use Lightroom to keep my files organized and to do much of my editing and color correction. From there, I upload everything to the website for our Online Manager to review and publish. I also check our social media and email analytics each day to see which posts and emails have been most successful in traffic and revenue. I make sure we have at least one post scheduled each day and design and send several emails per week. I can always be found wandering around the shop shooting extra images for social media, making boomerangs with our new arrivals, or asking everyone in the office for their favorite bag to feature in my next email.

The BFG 1969 Corvette Rides Again
New Yorker doctor Frank Lastorino has been in love with cars in general, and Corvettes in particular, since early childhood. It’s therefore understandable that while growing up his bedroom walls were plastered with photos of fast and interesting cars, including a promotional poster created by BFGoodrich that depicted a wickedly cool big-block 1969 Corvette. As with all of the vehicles the tire maker used for its pervasive marketing and advertising campaign in the early 1990s, the Corvette was painted a unique shade of blue.
It was perhaps the color of the Corvette, more than anything else, that stuck in Lastorino’s mind in the ensuing years, and it was the memories of that poster on his bedroom wall, and all of the ads he saw in magazines, that motivated him to buy the car when it was offered for sale on an Internet auction site. “I always remembered the blue Corvette in the BFGoodrich ads,” he recalls, “because it was everywhere. Just about every car magazine from the early ’90s had a big ad featuring that beautiful Corvette. When it came up for sale I simply had to have it.”
After initially confirming its authenticity, Lastorino dug deeper to document as much of his Corvette’s history as he could. His research revealed that before the maker of BFGoodrich Radial T/As propelled the car to fame via its prolific advertising and marketing campaign, which lasted several years, beginning circa 1991, it led a very ordinary life. It was born with a 427/400 hydraulic lifter Tri-power engine, four-speed Muncie gearbox, 3.70:1 Posi rear, power steering and brakes, tinted glass and an AM/FM stereo. It left the St. Louis factory wearing Monaco Orange paint and a black vinyl interior. According to Lastorino’s research, a man named Frank Sebeste owned the car when the tire company initiated its ad campaign. The tire maker’s ad agency paid Mr. Sebeste a per diem fee to photograph it. The car was still orange at that point, and the agency wanted to have it painted blue. Somebody cracked out a calculator and realized that between the cost of painting it blue, paying the per diem fee and then painting it back to orange, they’d be better off simply buying the car from Mr. Sebeste, so that’s what they did.
After making the purchase, BFGoodrich shipped their Corvette to California Street Rods in Huntington Beach, California, for new paint and several modifications. Owner Chuck Lombardo and his crew stripped the car’s Monaco Orange paint and installed an L88-style high-rise hood with relocated 427 emblems. After applying the specific shade of blue BFGoodrich wanted, they fitted chrome-plated side pipes, hood lock pins, GM’s “L88 road racing” Plexiglas headlight covers and a Monza-style fuel filler assembly. To complete the road race look, 15×8.5 American Racing Torq-Thrust D wheels replaced the stock Rally rims, and of course, BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, sized at 245/60R15 in front and 255/60R15 at the rear, were installed.
After the repaint and modifications were completed the car was photographed for the ad campaign. Once the ads started appearing, the impressive looking Corvette went on a promotional tour that included stops at BFGoodrich tire dealers around the nation as well as major car shows, including Hot August Nights in Reno.
By the mid-1990s, thanks to pervasive advertising and marketing activities, the BFGoodrich Corvette was one of the most recognized cars in America. The company had distributed thousands of banners to retail tire locations around the country, printed hundreds of thousands of posters for the public and ran double-spread ads in scores of different magazines. After extracting every bit of value out of the car, BFGoodrich was ready to move on and the iconic blue Corvette went back to Chuck Lombardo’s shop in California with instructions to sell it.
Lombardo arranged the sale of the coupe to a local man named Gene Lu. Mr. Lu apparently didn’t care for the car’s unique color and eventually painted it Arena Red, a Porsche color. He used the car very little before putting it into long-term storage, where it remained until 2006. That year, he traded it to another California resident, his friend Randy Meadows, for a Chevelle convertible. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Meadows sold it to Dr. Lastorino, who shipped it across the country to his home in New York.
Lastorino was surprised that prior owner Lu had the car painted red given its famous history, and planned from the beginning to restore it back to its BFGoodrich ad campaign color. To accomplish that task he enlisted the able assistance of his cousin, doctor Phil Maglione. Like Lastorino, Maglione is a chiropractor by day but he’s car-obsessed and has been moonlighting as a hot rod builder and muscle car restorer for over 30 years. Operating under the business name Philymag Hot Rods, he stripped the Arena Red off, did all of the body prep and resprayed the car that oh-so-familiar hue of blue.
While the car was laid up for body and paint work, Lastorino, who also knows his way around cars, removed the engine. Old-school engine guru Dennis Quitoni, owner of Performance Services, in West Hempstead, New York, rebuilt the engine to L71 427/435 specs rather than the car’s original L68 427/400 specs. As such, it has the high-compression pistons and rectangular port, large valve cylinder heads that 435-horsepower engines came with. For enhanced driveability, Quitoni installed Comp Cams hydraulic roller lifters rather than solid lifters, as originally used in L71 engines. He also installed an MSD billet distributor to work with the MSD 6AL ignition box that Lastorino installed in the car. The end result is a perfectly streetable powerplant that produces more than 500 very reliable horsepower.
Lastorino reinstalled the freshly rebuilt engine and, together with cousin Phil, reassembled the rest of the newly painted car. The car’s original four-speed transmission was working perfectly so they left that alone. Similarly, the car’s original interior remained in excellent condition so they didn’t change anything there either. When they were finished, the car looked the same as it did in the early 1990s, complete with BFGoodrich blue paint, chrome side pipes, hood pins, Monza gas fill door, relocated 427 hood emblems, Torq-Thrust D wheels, and of course, the all-important Radial T/A tires.
Since getting his Corvette back into its BFGoodrich appearance, Lastorino has thoroughly enjoyed driving and showing it up and down the East Coast. “I really love the car!” he tells us. “And anyone who sees it who is old enough to remember the massive ad campaign it was a part of loves it, too. I’ve shown it as far away as Florida at the Orlando NCRS event, and with help from super-talented auto detailer Fred Montalto at Hi Tech Auto Care in Deer Park, New York, who has been in charge of detailing, paint touch-ups and prepping the car before each show, it has done extremely well.” Vette

Adtwixt - News: Tour a Photographer’s Stunning Florida Abode That’s the Perfect Touch of Glamour
Natalie Uprichard is The Everygirl How do you unwind at the end of the day? Take a nice long bubble bath while watching Netflix Favorite Sunday activity? Going out to eat with my family after church Favorite ice cream flavor? The Evolution Collection-which is fitting since we are expanding and growing the brand to utilize other fabrics that we have not used in past Collections; such as Chiffon’s and Georgette’s. 2. Your inspiration on the Evolution collection was? With this new season, I wanted to branch out and utilize new fabrics and prints that best suit the Misha Mendicino woman…Resort 17, is full of colorful hues that you would typically see in the most glorious of sunsets; pinks, oranges and green round out the Evolution Collection. Of course, we haven’t forgotten about our ladies who love the simple, classic black and white motif. 3. How did you choose your fabrics and patterns? Each fabric used is carefully selected to bring out each style according to the vision I had for the season, while keeping with the true aesthetics of the Brand. The prints utilized this season is a mixture of Designer prints I found while in Bali and those that we have created ourselves to blend in with the entire Collection. I love to find unique prints that embody artistic expression while being simplistic-this season we emphasize the Abstract expression throughout the entire Collection. 4. What’s your favorite piece on this collection? My favorite piece from the new Collection would have to be the Portofino Poncho, created from Fine Italian Wool, which is lightweight and very sophisticated, my other favorite’s include the Chiffon Kaftans which I like to pair with a slip for an elegant night time look. Honestly, it’s hard to pick just 1 favorite! *Take a look on how you can wear the Portofino Poncho 5. What’s the Best seller in your line? Our best seller is our famous Signature Dress, which is a staple piece for each year. This season’s print is by far my favorite, with the multi colored abstract print that goes with almost any color shoe…We are also very pleased with how well the Portofino Poncho is moving… often times when you think of Resort Wear you imagine the lightweight pieces that pack easily, but… we took a chance and bought out a staple piece for fall and it is working. Sometimes as a Brand, you take chances-I am glad we did.
*This is the Misha Mendicino BEST Seller all around the Clothing line; the famous “Signature Dress” *The Signature Dress on the 2 New Patterns of this season 6. What does the elephant logo means? Our elephant logo is embroidered on each and every piece throughout the Collection, usually at the nape of the neck, which signifies an authentic Misha Mendicino garment. We are partnered with The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust by donating 5% of our revenue to secure a future for the African Elephant by funding the Nairobi Nursery and several Anti-Poaching campaigns to end the needless slaughter of elephants. We have taken great pride in our responsibilities as an ethical manufacturer, by consistently delivering a product that meets our stringent quality control and giving back to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust before we lose generations of elephants in Africa.

It is heartbreaking to see the senseless murder of innocent elephants in order to obtain Ivory… the greed of wealthy nations in pursuit of Ivory has only risen rather than decline. We (collectively) must raise awareness to this plight if we are to make changes. I spent my childhood watching my Mom collect elephant figurines and she especially loves the baby elephants and she would say that they are the cutest animal in the world. Fast forward 30 plus years, with my Mom’s declining age and the decline of the elephant population I felt a need to react and see if I could make a difference. I feel in a sense if I could make a difference in my Mothers lifetime it would also bring honor to her~ I associate my Mom with the elephants. They are both motivating factors in my need to preserve them. 8. Where can we use this pieces? I would bet that whenever you live, or travel too… we have something for you within the Evolution Collection… the city, the beach… or countryside, we have something that would suit you. 9.
