More than 10,000 flyers and paper ads from (almost) all around the world.

Featuring Takeshi Kitano, Isaac Asimov, Tamori and Takahashi Meijin. When I asked on Twitter if there was a website similar to the now defunct Game Chirashi Collection (which collected Japanese flyers for console games), I didn't get a positive answer. Of course, there are websites which have some scans of flyers or paper ads, but nothing as huge as GCC. Since I have saved most of its content (with the notable exception of the Nintendo section) but have neither the time nor the will to make a dedicated website, I decided to upload what I have so you can download these scans, spread them or make your own websiste, because it's part of video game history and I don't want these files to be lost. I bolded NOR v AUS because I genuinely think it was THE best match of the entire tournament. For me it was the turning point of the the entire tournament; I was like “Okay, shit’s real now.” SCO v ARG comes in at a very, VERY close second though. For the rest of them, order doesn’t matter. I was in the public transport while was happening the penalty shootout between Peru v Uruguay and everyone was screaming. It was definitely a mix of emotions, loved it.

Trasa 40. ročníku Dakaru se ukázala být obzvláště náročná po mechanické stránce. V průběhu této náročné zkoušky vytrvalosti na téměř 9000 kilometrech PEUGEOT 3008DKR Maxi nejenom vyhrál sedm ze třinácti etap, ale prokázal rovněž pozoruhodnou spolehlivost.

Jedinými problémy, které vůz postihly, byly menší potíže s řazením, avšak důvodem pro odstoupení vozu PEUGEOT 3008 DKR Maxi č. 306 nebyly technické problémy. Nové pneumatiky BF Goodrich se ukázaly být mimořádně odolné v náročném jihoamerickém terénu, zatímco maziva TOTAL zajistila optimální výkonnost motoru nehledě na nadmořskou výšku a extrémní podmínky.

Odveta „El matadora“

Carlos Sainz a Lucas Cruz neměli v minulých třech Dakarech štěstí, ale vrátili se zpět s maximálním elánem. Dvojice Španělů od samého startu soutěže podávala mistrovský výkon a za volantem PEUGEOTu 3008DKR Maxi č. 303 předvedla jak výkonnost, tak konzistentnost. Vyhráli měřené úseky č. 6 a 7 , aby po maratonské etapě převzali vedení, o které již nepřišli.

Vítězové Dakaru 2010 znovu vystoupili na vrchol stupňů vítězů, když do Córdoby dojeli s náskokem 43 min 40 s před svými soupeři. Toto vítězství podtrhuje jejich nesmírný vklad do projektu divize Peugeot Sport zaměřeného na vytrvalostní rallye, do něhož vložili veškeré své znalosti a talent při nastavení vozů DKR.

„Mr. Dakar“ v nesnázích

Stéphane Peterhansel a Jean-Paul Cottret, kteří Rallye Dakar pro PEUGEOT vyhráli v letech 2016 a 2017, zažili soutěž plnou akcí spolu se dvěma nešťastnými zádrhely. V 7. měřeném úseku musela posádka vozu č. 300 prudce uhnout, aby zabránila střetu se čtyřkolkou, která zastavila uprostřed cesty. Následkem toho se u vozu Peugeot 3008DKR Maxi poškodilo levé zadní zavěšení o skrytý

kámen. Poté mistři Dakaru na začátku 13. etapy narazili do stromu, o který si poškodili posilové řízení. V obou případech jim týmoví kolegové Cyril Despres/David Castera pomohli vůz opravit, aby mohli pokračovat. Tyto nešťastné události znamenaly, že přišli nejprve o první a poté o druhé místo v celkovém pořadí. Dojeli nicméně na čtvrtém místě a prokázali, že jsou nejrychlejší posádkou z celé sestavy Teamu PEUGEOT Total, když dosáhli tři etapová vítězství.

Despres/Castera, rychle a odpovědně

První posádkou Teamu PEUGEOT Total, která vyhrála etapu na Dakaru 2018, byli Cyril Despres a David Castera, kteří se na konci 2. etapy ujali vedení a dokazovali, že učinili další krok vpřed po stránce výkonnosti. Bohužel ambice dvou bývalých motocyklistů zastavil kámen vystupující z cesty na 180. km ve 4. měřeném úseku. Ten zničil pravé zadní zavěšení vozu, což tuto dvojici zastavilo v jejich rozletu.

S pomocí servisního kamionu Teamu PEUGEOT Total se vrátili na trať soutěže, takže posádka vozu PEUGEOT 3008DKR Maxi se startovním číslem 308 mohla pokračovat, jenže s velkou ztrátou. Od té chvíle předváděli úžasného týmového ducha, když se věnovali tomu, aby pomáhali svým týmovým kolegům, přičemž dosáhli několika působivých časů v etapách, když k tomu nastala příležitost (například v 8. a 11. měřeném úseku). V důsledku své penalizace ve výši 29 hodin byli Cyril Despres a David Castera klasifikováni s velkou ztrátou na pozici, která neodpovídá jejich skutečné výkonnosti.

Loeb zastaven na své cestě

Po dosažení druhého místa v loňském Dakaru, se ztrátou pouze 5 minut za vítězi, zahájili Sébastien Loeb/Daniel Elena letošní ročník s jasným cílem vyhrát. Měli skvělý vstup do soutěže navzdory tomu, že se itinerář průjezdu přes Peru skládal hlavně z dun a jízdy mimo silnice, což nebylo jejich silnou stránkou.

Pak v působivém stylu vyhráli 4. měřený úsek v rámci jedné z nejtěžších etap moderního Dakaru v Jižní Americe. Bohužel, zatímco pokračovali na druhém místě v celkové klasifikaci, byli nuceni odstoupit v 5. měřeném úseku mezi San Juanem de Marcona a Arequipou v Peru. Jejich PEUGEOT 3008DKR Maxi spadl do měkké a písčité díry při vyhýbání se jinému konkurentovi, který zde uvízl. Dopad zlomil Danielu Elenovi kostrč, což mu znemožnilo pokračovat.

Nejnovější kapitola v kronice úspěchů

Letošní vítězství Teamu PEUGEOT Total završilo už tak působivý seznam úspěchů značky PEUGEOT na Dakaru, protože jde o sedmé vítězství z osmi startů! Zde je stručná připomínka všeho, co PEUGEOT na Dakaru dosáhl:

1987: Vítězství pro posádku Vatanen/Giroux (205 T16 Grand Raid)

1988: Vítězství pro posádku Kankkunen/Piironen (205 T16 Grand Raid)

1989: První a druhé místo pro posádky Vatanen/Berglund a Ickx/Tarin (oba 405 T16 Grand Raid)

1990: První, druhé a třetí místo pro posádky Vatanen/Berglund (405 T16 Grand Raid), Waldegard/Fenouil (405 T16 Grand Raid) a Ambrosino/Baumgartner (205 T16 Grand Raid)

2016: Vítězství pro posádku Peterhansel/Cottret (2008DKR)

2017: První, druhé a třetí místo pro posádky Peterhansel/Cottret, Loeb/Elena and Despres/Castera (všichni 3008DKR)

2018: Vítězství pro posádku Sainz/Cruz (3008DKR Maxi).

  NOVÝ SMĚR K ELEKTRIFIKACI

Tohoto vítězství PEUGEOT dosáhl při své poslední účasti v Dakaru. PEUGEOT Sport se nyní soustředí na mistrovství světa FIA v rallycrossu WorldRX (FIA World Rallycross Championship). Jeho sezona odstartuje 14. – 15. dubna v Barceloně se Sébastienem Loebem za volantem jednoho z vozů PEUGEOT 208 WRX. Souběžně s tím se PEUGEOT Sport bude připravovat rovněž na nadcházející elektrický šampionát v rallycrossu, který začne od roku 2020. Do toho vstoupí s nástupcem současného vozu PEUGEOT 208, který bude mít plně elektricky poháněnou verzi.

Je to nejspíš nejtěžší Dakar, jakého jsem se zúčastnil, a to včetně těch, co se jely v Africe. Organizátoři nám připravili skutečně náročnou trasu s tolika neskutečně obtížnými etapami. Dokonce i dvě etapy těsně před koncem byly neuvěřitelné a Peru bylo rovněž velmi náročné. Je samozřejmé, že s Lucasem cítíme velké uspokojení, že jsme tak těžkou soutěž vyhráli. A to samé platí pro celý tým Peugeotu, který v rámci celého programu odváděl fantastickou práci. PEUGEOT 3008DKR Maxi je pravděpodobně nejlepším autem, jaké jsem kdy v maratónských soutěžích řídil. Děkuji všem, kteří nás v tomto projektu podporovali, a velké poděkování patří divizi PEUGEOT Sport.“

Stéphane Peterhansel (PEUGEOT 3008DKR Maxi č. 300) – 2. ve 14. etapě/4. v celkovém pořadí: „Celkově to pro nás byl velmi dobrý týden. Duny v Peru byly skutečně naším hlavním trumfem. Potom se to poněkud zvrtlo. V Bolívii jsme ztratili 1 h 45 min po nárazu do kamene, který jsem neviděl. Bylo natolik nemožné jej spatřit, že mě to až tak nerozhodilo. Mnohem více mě mrzí to, co se stalo v pátek: v den, kdy jsme hromadili malé chyby. Myslím, že tento Dakar byl mimořádně tvrdý: nepochybně nejobtížnější, jaký jsem v Jižní Americe zažil. Takový je ale duch celé akce, i když tentokrát byl možná až příliš náročný, pokud vezmete v úvahu amatérské jezdce. Skutečnou satisfakcí je pro nás vítězství Carlose a týmu PEUGEOT. Je to vynikající odměna pro Carlose, který zde v minulých třech letech neměl štěstí.“

Cyril Despres (PEUGEOT 3008DKR Maxi č. 308) – 13. ve 14. etapě/31. v celkovém pořadí: „Tento Dakar pro nás začal dobře, neboť jsme vyhráli druhou etapu. Avšak problém, který jsme měli ve čtvrté etapě, naprosto zvrátil celou naší soutěž. Od tohoto okamžiku jsme pouze pomáhali našim týmovým kolegům, a tak nebylo snadné předvést to, co bychom mohli dokázat. Nejdůležitější však bylo nedopustit se chyb a být tak k dispozici pro případ, kdy by Carlos nebo Stéphane měli problémy. Je samozřejmé, že pro mě a Davida to byla soutěž plná zklamání, ale na druhou stranu jsme teprve zahájili naší kariéru v automobilech. Při letošním Dakaru jsme posbírali spoustu zkušeností, a to je mimořádně pozitivní. Chtěl bych poděkovat celému týmu PEUGEOT Sport, jenž pracoval tak tvrdě a umožnil nám od roku 2015, kdy jsme začali, se stále zlepšovat v dokonalých podmínkách.“

Tournament: NBO Golf Classic Grand Final – Venue: Al Mouj Golf, Muscat, Oman

Clément Sordet claimed a memorable second victory of the season at the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final as Scott Fernandez and Bradley Neil dramatically clinched European Tour cards on the final day of the 2017 European Challenge Tour season.

The top 15 in the season-long Road to Oman Rankings will play in the Race to Dubai next year and there was much movement throughout the fourth round at Al Mouj Golf, with Sebastian Heisele and Robin Sciot-Siegrist ultimately the two to drop out of the European Tour places in the final week of the season.

Estanislao Goya and Oliver Lindell were two others who were inside the top 15 in yesterday’s projected rankings but endured difficult days as the wind picked up off the Sea of Oman, ultimately sharing 11th place – not enough to hold those European Tour positions.

Fernandez and Neil both turned in 33 to climb the leaderboard but started to falter on the back nine, each bogeying the 17th before making impressive pars on the last hole in the knowledge that a dropped shot would be costly.

They took the 14th and 15th cards for next season, Neil finishing 4,436 points ahead of Heisele for that final position, and they will both now embark on rookie seasons on the European Tour.

By contrast, Sordet’s progress to a fourth Challenge Tour title seemed relatively serene.

The Frenchman stretched his overnight lead to four shots with two early birdies and, with the charges of Erik van Rooyen and Goya falling away, he walked down the 18th with a two-shot lead.

A comfortable par saw him sign for a two under par round of 70 and a 15 under par total, taking the 25 year old to second place in the Rankings, with Marcus Kinhult the runner-up and Fernandez and van Rooyen sharing third place on 12 under par.

The round of the day came from Jens Dantorp, whose blemish-free 66 secured the Swede his European Tour card in a share of fifth place and concluded a remarkable fortnight following his victory in last week’s Ras Al Khaimah 2017 Golf Challenge.

Meanwhile, Tapio Pulkkanen was crowned Challenge Tour Number One, the first Finn to achieve this honour, with the 2017 graduates ultimately finishing like this:

“After I bogeyed 17, I didn’t really know what to expect coming up the last or where I was standing. I didn’t have a clue what was going on and I was just delighted when that last putt dropped.

“I was actually pretty excited today. After going out in three under, it was actually in my hands, I wasn’t having to shoot an amazing back nine and I was playing well.

“It was really tough to focus on my game and I had to be really strong mentally to focus on what I had to do. It’s been a long, long season and it was horrible to come into the week in 16th place and unable to relax, but it was worth it now.”

“I am thrilled as it is a dream come true. I am really excited for what comes next.

“The job is done and it is a great finish to a great year. You know it is going to be a long day from the start, you know there are going to be a lot of emotions, and I started off a little nervous.

“I held my nerve throughout the day – especially on the 17th where I made the best bogey of my career. I hit my second shot into the high rough and after getting out from there I still had 30 yards to the green – but I put my approach to eight foot and holed out.

“That was crucial and I used that momentum to finish well on the 18th. I was left with a tap in for par which was probably the easiest way to make a Tour card in history.

“I have been fighting off a virus throughout the week but I have been able to fight through that and everything else to get the job done.”

Tapio Pulkkanen

“It’s nice to be in the history books. Some great names have won the Challenge Tour Rankings in the past and it’s a great pleasure to now be part of that team.

“After I won in Kazakhstan, winning the Rankings became my goal. I played really well in China to put myself in a good position to do that but it was really important for me to finish it off here.

“I’ve been here for more or less four years and it’s been up and down for me – obviously it’s been very up this season! I hope I can continue this next year but it’s been a good training ground and I have improved so much from playing on the Challenge Tour.”
