Children will learn about Roman and Arabic numerals, ordinal numbers, even and odd numbers, cardinal numbers and more. Counting and numbers constitute another important topic in grade 2. It gets even more interesting with activities on telling time children can start with the telling time worksheet grade 2 which contains clock faces with the hour and minute hands pointing to different positions of the clock. We also have grade 2 math subtraction worksheets covering varied topics like subtracting with and with carrying, subtraction of large numbers and subtraction word problems. In some cases we offer division sums for class 2nd in which students add numbers before dividing to find the sum. Children will also solve division word problems. These numbers will be divided through long division in some cases with remainders. Children will divide small numbers and later proceed to dividing large numbers. Furthermore, the grade 2 division worksheets section contains division activities ranging from one to ten and above. Hence money word problems that children solve will be expressed in U.S. The 2nd grade money worksheets in this page mostly use dollars as the base currency. The money grade 2 worksheets section contains activities on calculating the value of coins based on pictures shown in a worksheet. Haven understood these skills, students will proceed with multiplication word problems where students apply skills learned in the previous section. We also cover multiplication for 2nd graders through a collection of problems ranging from single digits numbers to multiplication of multiple digit numbers. The ultimate goal is to find missing numbers in a sequence and fill them out in a space. Here children solve several problems containing missing numbers on a number line. There are also counting activities on the number line worksheets 2nd grade section. Place value teaches children to understand the actual values of numbers within larger numbers. We also cover numbers and counting activities through our place value worksheets grade 2.

Addition problems for grade 2 range from basic addition of single digit numbers, to addition of two digit numbers, addition of three digit numbers, addition with or without carrying. Under addition, there are addition word problems for grade 2 where children use earlier learned notions of addition to solve similar live case scenarios. We offer math worksheets for 7 year olds and worksheets for 8 year olds, which is the general age range for children in this level. In each math worksheet for class 2, there are problems on the first page on a specific topic meanwhile the second page contains an answer key especially when the problems get a bit complex. Parents, teachers and children in this level love using our worksheets for extra practice. This page contains grade 2 math worksheets of the highest quality.

On the July 8 call of the National Political Committee Steering Committee, the SC voted to send this letter to members.
The entire process for Resolution 33 grievances and non-Resolution 33 cases may be seen here, as well as resources for chapter Harassment and Grievance Officers.
Jane McAlevey Tools from No Shortcuts to Organizing for Power Series
In the last two months, hundreds of members attended three mass organizing calls with Jane McAlevey, ending on July 10 with a call on how to use these techniques to strengthen your DSA chapter. In moments like now, when the boss class is doubling down on their campaign to divide, conquer, and spread fear, it is more important than ever that we build effective chapters who can both mobilize, but also organize.
Stay tuned for an August follow up call to see how folks have applied Jane’s lessons, and in the meantime, here are some tools she developed for chapter members in DSA. We hope you can try them out and then get on our next call!

If you missed any or all of these mass calls, click here to watch the three videos. At the link you will find a discussion guide for No Shortcuts, brought to you by the DSA Fund, dedicated to education and outreach about Democratic Socialism. Learn more or support the DSA Fund here.
Democratic Socialist Labor Commission (DSLC) Update
The DSLC is hosting a call featuring the leaders of Labor Working Groups, Committees, and Branches throughout the organization. They will be discussing the approach they take to the labor movement in their chapters, campaigns they’ve taken on, and issues they’ve faced. We are still finalizing a time and agenda, but you can pre-register for the call at this link.
And check out the DSLC’s Labor 101 curriculum! There will be an opportunity for delegates to participate in a Labor 101 session at the convention, which is a great opportunity to bring this training back to their home chapter.
Electoral Endorsements in California and Ohio
The National Electoral Committee is proud to endorse Dean Preston for San Francisco, CA Board of Supervisors and Liliana Rivera Baiman for Columbus, OH City Council!! Both are up for election Tuesday, November 5th. Vote for them if you live in town, donate to them if you can, and reach out to [email protected] to volunteer remotely for them or our other candidates like Shaun Scott in Seattle.
Dean Preston wrote the Right to Counsel ballot measure that San Francisco DSA endorsed and won, and is known as one of the lead organizers who helped save CA rent control in 2008. He has represented tenants in eviction cases and victims of police misconduct as a lawyer, and now he is running to represent working people on San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors. This is a chance to elect a DSA member who has already worked alongside the chapter to office and boost their fights for a green new deal, public transportation, and of course, tenants’ rights and affordable housing.
Liliana Rivera Baiman is a mother, labor organizer, and DREAMer activist who is running because Columbus workers shouldn’t need more than one job to survive. That means good union jobs with benefits, and a city that can support them. She’s a member of Columbus DSA and knows that without municipal ID cards and public internet, it’s hard for everyone to take advantage of everything the city has to offer. With public services that are funded by prioritizing the good of all over the good of developers, Liliana believes everyone can thrive.
DSA In Office Gathering in Atlanta
The past few weeks we have seen what happens when the Wall Street wing of the Democratic Party attacks their left flank. It opens the door for the likes of Trump to go on the offensive, galvanizing and growing his base from among those who would like to return this country to pre-Reconstruction economic and social relations.
Outside the formal political arena, DSA members across the country have attended and in many cases helped organize Close the Camps mobilizations. It is critical that our chapters be part of broad based majoritarian coalitions organizing both in direct actions and in civil society against the increasing neo-fascism of the Republican Party, the accomodationism of too many moderate Democrats, and the corporations who assist ICE and other institutions of oppression.
We are also working inside the formal political arena, supporting our members in office to use their resources to facilitate working class self defense in their communities, and helping new democratic socialists candidates run for office at all levels of government. Dozens of DSA members currently in office will gather concurrent with the national convention to build our national network and find new ways to leverage our independent, collective power.
Convention is Coming Up!
It’s been great seeing members on social media discussing some of the many resolutions before delegates at the convention, and knowing many of you are holding chapter meetings to discuss them as well. Delegates will make major decisions about the direction of the organization in just two weeks.
We will also hear from inspiring leaders both inside and outside DSA, including:
Sara Nelson, International President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO. During the government shutdown, Nelson released a video calling on flight attendants to stop working and support air traffic controllers sickouts. Hours later, Trump cut a deal to end the shutdown. Now she’s standing up against climate change, supporting the Green New Deal, and calling on airlines to stop enabling deportations.
Linda Sarsour, DSA member, co-founder of MPower Change, Palestinian-American community organizer, former executive director of the Arab American Association of New York and Women’s March board member.
Together we will marshall our strength for the struggles ahead. We want nothing less than a planet for the many, not the few!
Pre-Convention Budget Webinar for Members
The Budget and Finance Committee is organizing a Preconvention Webinar Budget Presentation on Sunday, 7/28th 8pm ET/7pm CT/6pm MT/5pm PT. The call will be one hour long and will include an mid-year budget analysis. This call will be limited to DSA members as of 7/11/2019.
To verify memberships are up-to-date with their dues, we ask that you RSVP for access to the call. Every member who RSVPs will receive a recording of the call.
Delegate Convention Emails

The Repulsive worksheet.
Year 2000
We didn’t start school until 7 – 8 months after arriving in the UK. At this time we had moved out of my aunt’s house and into a council flat. My experience of school in UAE and Pakistan had been mostly positive, although the UAE’s education system isn’t the best by any means. I distinctly remember my first day at school in the Emirates or more specifically the Arabic class. The teacher expected me as a new student to be able to read and write something he demanded from the text book. Bearing in mind that I had zero knowledge of how to read Arabic didn’t get in the way of him relentlessly hitting my palms with a plastic stick each time I failed to respond. Growing up I had read the Quran but the Arabic was vastly different as the text didn’t have any of the markings above the alphabets which makes it easier to pronounce words. With that in mind, I was looking forward to attending school in England.
The school was a call “Frizinghall” in Bradford. The students were mostly of a Pakistani background but there were still a few white kids from around the area. The first thing that was abundantly clear was that a lot of the boys in my class or indeed the school, immediately started to mock my accent. I didn’t think there was anything majorly wrong with how I spoke but I suppose this was confirmation that I had a bit of an accent. I should say however at this point that I suffered from horrendous bullying from year 7 all the way up to year 10. It has in many ways shaped a lot about my personality now. I will try however to keep this blog mostly about things which led to me leaving Islam.
It was my 2nd or 3rd week at school. It was THEN where I witnessed something that made my stomach churn. The teacher had asked a girl in my class to hand out some worksheets to the rest of the group while he wrote on the board. She made her way around the class putting down the sheets in front of the kids. I noticed that a few Asian boys she gave the sheet to didn’t take the sheet from her hands but let her put it on the table, after which they would blow on the sheet. I didn’t get it at first but soon realised that they were blowing it as though it was dirty or repulsive, simply because the girl who gave it to them was white.
I felt sick, I had never seen anything like it. The boy sat next to me did the same thing and I asked him why, to which he replied “It’s because “gore” are dirty”. “How do you know she’s dirty?” I asked to which he simply replied “Because they don’t clean themselves properly like us”. I didn’t really attach any religious reasons to it at the time. I just felt that it was plain rude and awful. Retrospectively thinking about it, the logic behind this was probably based on the fallacy of how Muslims take pride in washing themselves with water when they go to the toilet. The religion may command it but it’s arrogant and insulting to even pretend that all Muslims are cleaner than someone who isn’t. All this wasn’t in my mind at that time though, I was more concerned about how the girl must have felt while this was going on.
After the lesson we had a break and I couldn’t help but approach her and ask if she was ok. I don’t know why I did that. I was quite reclusive thanks to the name calling and accent remarks which were thrown at me randomly. “What are you on about?” she said. I told her that I think its shit that the boys did that to you when you gave them the worksheet. “They do it all the time… I don’t give a fuck really” and walked off.
I was too young to really question what happened, or even try to approach the teacher at the time. But for me the time had come to stand alone in the corner once more while everyone else played with their Pokémon cards. I had failed to make a single friend at this time, something that would continue for a while.

Group Name: Skittles.
Wiggle! Wiggle!
Dance, stretch to the music!
Starting a day with dancing, exercises and stretching is the key to having a great day. Skittles sparked off their day with dancing exercise. They were very happy to stretch their muscles while jumping and stretching. Great way to develop their muscles and fine motor skills.
Counting Stars!
During Bean masters class, Earth Analysists, Skittles did a forestation Maths today, aligning to their theme of this week ‘ Earth’. They planted more trees while counting them. This was aimed at improving their numeracy skills as well as to make them understand the importance of protecting the Planet Earth. They did a good job counting from one up to six, with a slogan “Plant more trees save the earth”.
Do you know the ways to keep Our Mother Earth happy? Out of curiosity, they made a research with their teacher. They know how to keep her happy by recycling, planting trees and preserving water bodies.
They also know what would make Mother Earth Sad. Cutting down trees, wasting the water etc., will make the Earth sad. Kids were shown puppet of happy and sad earth accompanied with a story about the earth, hence learning about knowing the world.
Nothing seems complete without a game for the Little Skittles. They went ahead and had an outdoor racing, a game with happy and sad earth. And that was great to develop their fine motor skills as well.
Numeracy class was about tracing numbers, review, recite and practice our writing skills.
During the Arabic hour, the kids learned what they see on the earth. They enjoyed learning  new words in Arabic.Their Arabic class was awesome.
Group Name: Pollys.
Our circle time started by reviewing numbers and phonics.
Big bowl was filled with water and the kids used their tiny hands to catch one. And guess what? They were able to identify all! It was a gross motor activity in which kids practiced following instructions while playing.
During our Numeracy class kids traced number 8. This helped them to get familiar with the numbers. This was great to develop their Numeracy skills.
Also, their counting and concentration levels were improved because they had to follow small dotted lines on paper.
Today at White fields nursery kids explored outer space. What is Mr. Sun is doing in the sky? Also, while in space today, our little space travelers enjoyed making a puffy space. It was exciting and educative for kids as they used  a cream and color to make nine beautiful puffy planets.
With the help of the teacher, the inquisitive kids mixed all materials together and made an amazing space. They were so excited to see the results.
Hurray! Thumbs up for Pollys!
Group Name: Seattles
Which planet do we inhabit?
It is important to love the planet we inhabit, which is the earth. Conserve and preserve.  Kids were introduced to the planet they live in during their science period by making some coffee filters to be like the earth. They dropped some green and blue food color, then they had water droplets on them. We love the earth!
Respect nature!
Save the water!
Kids learned about water pollution today. It was an exciting time for them trying to make one pond dirty and trying to conserve the other one. They had some fishes into the clean water in order for them to know that the fishes will be found in the clean one and they will run away from the dirty and polluted one. Teaching kids about this preservation are necessary for the future of our planet.
Numeracy hour helped to improve on recalling and recognition of numbers as different numbers were presented to the kids to match according to their corresponding numbers.
Kids had a lovely time coloring some letters on the worksheet. This was in order to revise previous materials as well as improve their literacy skills.
During Arabic hour the Skittles also learned how to make the earth happy.
A bit of play, a bit of dance, a bit of pretend play… Complete and fun filled, learning day.
Plant Trees… Save the Earth… Group Name: Skittles. Wiggle! Wiggle! Dance, stretch to the music! Starting a day with dancing, exercises and stretching is the key to having a great day.
