One thing Space Pirate Mito definitely has going for it is seeing a character who is essentially Nanami Kiryuu (the head director for this series actually directed ep 3 of Utena, On the Night of the Ball) openly loving women and standing up to homophobes.
#space pirate mito#aoi & mutsuki#aoi & mutsuki: a pair of queens#kafuko kakugeiian#kakugeiian kafuko#i am REALLY proud of her character development over the course of the show#as for the series itself#i'm really into it but i don't feel i can evaluate it properly before i've seen the whole#it's definitely got issues but not to the level id expect#the uncomfortable scenes are never really worse than '90's anime sailor moon sometimes was#'90's sailor moon had a LOT to make up for the bad stuff though#this show... it's entertaining and i'm interested in the story#but it all depends on where it's going#i feel like a bad ending could utterly ruin it#however... im encouraged by the fact that the title of s2 is 'aoi & mutsuki: a pair of queens'#that sure does make it sound like it'll end on a good note
