Alvaro Naddeo's "(igno)RANT."
Opening on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 at Beinart Gallery in Melbourne, Australia is artist Alvaro Naddeo's solo exhibition, "(igno)RANT."
Trash and objects found in the street are valuable, and not only for aesthetic reasons. The brands, logos and packaging depicted in Naddeo's work are objects with an inherent duality, both desirable and despicable, a clear by-product of Naddeo’s previous, lengthy career in advertising.

So, I just came across the art work of Alvaro Naddeo. I enjoyed his paintings so much that I am already planning to make scaled dioramas of his work to use in my table top wargames.
I used a description of his work given in Colossal as prompt to generate ideas to accompany this war terrain project, without saying in the style of.

Paintings by Alvaro Naddeo
I am originally from São Paulo, Brazil and have also lived in Lima, New York City and currently in Los Angeles. These urban environments have shaped my memory and permeate most of my work. I am partly self-taught and partly home-schooled. The subject matter of my work is waste, over-consumption and social inequality.

Alvaro Naddeo for "Intersections"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A selection of works by artist Alvaro Naddeo for Thinkspace Projects's group exhibition, "Intersections," which opens Saturday, February 5th, 2022 in Los Angeles, California.
Alvaro Naddeo approaches Intersections with the desire to create work that mixes personal memories with the collective memories of our society. In pulling textures from the places Naddeo has personally been and incorporating them into greater social and political commentary, he is able to tell stories that may not have previously been told. He works to give space to the marginalized and the minorities, “those who can see and smell everything good that America has, but are never allowed to get there.”
"Intersections" features art by artists Sean Banister, Alvaro Naddeo, Gustavo Rimada, and Manuel Zamudio.

Dystopian Paintings LA-based artist Alvaro Naddeo creates paintings of structures and vehicles that are ramshackled together made of outdated technology. Alvaro work speaks to consumerism, the waste it generates and wealth inequalities.
