Hey while the ides of march and history is trending, I have a question for the history side of tumblr. Can somebody tell what the whole "We are the inheritors of greek/Roman culture" thing is about. Sounds racist to me but idk if there's any actual standing for this.

#interesting as inheritors of greek society we are interested in the tattoos of other cultures again #I'm just thinking about how I for once found a youtube channel about hellinistic history that wasn't focused on war or politics #they had a video about tatoos in greek society that was very interesting right up until the very end #where they said it was #while showing pictures of various indigenous peoples and their tattoos #and it just really rubbed me the wrong way and I haven't pinned down exactly why #other than just assuming the viewer wasn't indigenous #history #ides of march #Probably not gonna get anything back from this but go on little message in a bottle tell me what you find #Also please let me know if I'm being rude idk if I'm hijacking the trending tags by doing this #tw racism #cw racisn #?
