Obsessed with characters who portray themselves as worse than they are. Who are lying to everyone including themselves about it. People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intend to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.

Also I know like 5 people suggested Luke Atmey for the Riddler BUT Sebastian has the silly little “?” hair thingy and also (even though I haven’t started AAI2 yet) I think he’s the right amount of Wet Cat to be the Riddler

the AA trilogy actually does a really good job of having annoying women whose only crime isn’t being women. a lot of AA’s women (particularly oldbag and lotta) get to be obnoxious and grating whilst still somewhat likable in a way that’s usually reserved for men. it’s not often we get to see female comic relief characters (especially in 2001) whose humor isn’t entirely defined by their femininity or attachment to men. and while oldbag obviously does have some humor that comes from her infatuation with edgeworth, I think more frequently her charm as a character comes from how entirely unhinged she is in general. “despite” her age and gender, she gets to be silly in the same way we see so many lovably annoying men get to be. lotta too—her whole gag is that she’s overzealous, quick to assume, and desperate to be of use. she pretty much sucks really hard, but in a way that’s still… kinda endearing. I see her the same way a lot of people see a character like larry. there’s definitely room for criticism, but I’m much more enamored by the funny moments she brings to the series. thank you ace attorney for giving us women that suck

Luo Binghe/Shen Qingqiu (SVSSS):

Shen Qingqiu has been in love with Binghe since before he even knew he was gay, the man thought he was straight reading a stallion novel full of smut, just for Binghe, and Binghe decided that if he couldn’t have SQQ that he would destroy the entire world. When SQQ died he kept his body around just in case and had to fight people off almost daily so that he could keep it around, man went full feral about it. They are so insane about each other.

Phoenix Wright/Miles Edgeworth (Ace Attorney):

phoenix spends his entire life chasing edgeworth literally becomes a lawyer to meet him again, then edgeworth gets his whole ass life shaken up and NEVER shuts up about the man. sets up his goddamn interior design to reflect his relationship with phoenix.

Trials and Tribulations is weird because it's a masterpiece in storytelling but it's also the Worst game in the trilogy at handling its female characters
