Unpopular SMG opinions
Screw it, here are my unpopular SMG opinions :)
I hate that I have to say this but please do not attack me for any of these, they are just my personal opinions & thoughts
Warning: opinions different from most people's (also they're not in any particular order, I just kinda threw them together lol)
Man of Medan is my favorite DPA game and I will NOT change my mind, it deserves way more love and appreciation and respect. It genuinely has the best variability and replayability (maybe even more so than UD & maybe even TQ tbh)
House of Ashes is my least favorite SMG game and I struggle to understand why a game so problematic is so loved
I liked Little Hope's twist ending lol. I know it's controversial, but to me, it gave the game so much more emotional weight and I personally love things that make me sad lol, so I liked it. I also think it provides so many themes & motifs, some great symbolism, and really good messages
I'm a big Emily/Matt shipper. I know they have problems but I love both of them and they have so many cute moments in the bonus chapter especially and I just want them to go to couple's therapy to work on said issues bc I love them
I'm also a big Conrad/Fliss shipper. This ship isn't necessarily hated by popular opinion, but it is very overlooked. Once again, I just love them both and I think they could actually work post-game and I simply adore their dynamic
Matt is my favorite male character, Conrad is my second favorite male, and Jacob is my third favorite male. All 3 guys are criminally underrated (and overhated in Conrad's & Jacob's cases) and I love them all
Emily is my favorite female character, Fliss is my second favorite female, and Emma is my third favorite female. Emily & Emma are so unfairly hated- they deserve so much love & appreciation. Fliss, while pretty well-liked, is still much too underrated and also deserves more love & appreciation
I love Emily, Jessica, Ashley, Emma, Jacob, Ryan, Julia, Conrad, Taylor, Angela, Andrew, Rachel, Kate, & Mark. They all deserve love & appreciation and none of the hate that they've received (also I'm not sure if Jamie or Erin have gotten hate, but if they have, they're included too)
Josh & Jason are problematic jerks. I don't understand why they're so well-loved. They're both sexist and act so disrespectfully towards women, and Jason is also racist
I think Emma & Jacob could actually work tbh, they're both just in different places at the time of the game. But maybe a couple years in the future, I could see them both giving it a try and honestly I think they would actually be quite cute (BUT I will always ship Emma with Abi above all, sorry Jacob ily)
As much as I love canon gay/bi rep and I do think the flirting between Ryan & Dylan is cute... I don't think they're very compatible, sorry y'all :( Maybe I'll make a separate post about this sometime
Alex has his issues, yes, but he's really not that bad
I used to not like Nick F, but upon replaying TQ, he's also not that bad- I think he was just screwed over by the werewolf transformation tbh
There are definitely a couple more, but I'll leave it there for now😅

Fox Riko Rinee
(Angst Gender issues Non consensual body modifications)
suggesting to skip this one if you deal with conflicted feelings about gender-transition, the plot is not in any form meant to be taken as political stance on any of involved topics
- Riko is a girl, given away to Tetsuji.
- The master chooses to make the child a champion but refuses to bestowe such privilege on a woman,especially after Kayleigh turned her back on him, in his effort to erase women from the sport he chooses to let Riko transition.
- Without anyone's else say Riko starts the transition early, he gets to go through boys puberty and gets all surgeries needed without anyone form outside being in the know, he trains well eats well and at no point in his life could someone doubt that Riko Moriyama is anything else than a boy, a bit short but that can easily be blamed on unfortunate.
- Now Riko is in Palmetto, the single stalls help a lot, the only people knowing is Aby who supplies Riko with Testosterone and Andrew who is chronically addicted to breaching peoples privacy under excuse of personal safety but that's a secret he will keep to himself.
- Riko dates Renee, He love her and her body it's the most beautiful thing ever , strong but still feminine reminding him constantly of what he could be, he hates his own more than others could hate him.
But there is only so long he can steer his girlfriend away form the intercourse, Renee is not pushy but she is very hopeful and reluctant to accepting more favours form him without possibility to take care of him as well.
- Riko is not a man, not the way she sees herself, but she lived her whole life this way, her career and ability to participate in exy, Tetsuji drilled it into her brain to believe she woudl not amount to anything without the doping of testosterone. She's worried what her body would become, how things would change she is scared of change because Master made sure of that, because master wanted a son , a nephew a boy. And logically she is aware that removing testosterone would make her body weaker and that is also scary because being strong was only defence she had all those years.
- Finally Riko manages open up to Renee and they start having sex, it's slow and hard for Riko because he does not see his body as attractive but he also does not want to grow resentful towards Renee, he enjoys being with her more than anything else in his life.
- Riko goes by HIM because he does not want others to know what mess his head truly is, he wants to pretend that this lie is real for his own sanity, he does not need other to acknowledge how fucked up his life is it's better to ignore.
- The foxes are a bit concerned when Riko and Renee start regularly leaving fox tower in favour of hotels - where Riko can dress up and say things no body else could hear - But Andrew seems calm about it and so everyone else calms down too.

Okay soo I’m procrastinating like five other things I should be doing right now- mostly school work- but I’ve been having many thoughts about a grishaverse/aftg crossover au and I needed to get them all out so

mandatory spoiler warning for shadow and bone trilogy
-Neil as Alina, obviously. Non-negotiable. He would be the overpowered MC if there was magic in aftg and we all know it
-obviously in the books, alina does not have a family that we know of, but in my little au, Nathan works for the Ravka gov and Mary gives up Neil bc she can tell he’s gonna be a powerful grisha I guess? I don’t care that that’s not really a thing, it is now
-anyway- Andrew is Mal. I’ve talked extensively about how similar I think Mal and Andrew are as characters, especially in the way that they are both so protective over the people they care about, to the point of being self-sacrificial but they cannot cope with someone doing the same for them, in fact both of them get angry with their significant others for attempting to ‘save’ them. I also think for both of them, this behaviour stems from seeing themselves as less than the people around the, we see it more obviously with Mal but I think Andrew is the same
-so in this au Andrew and neil are childhood friends, they grow up together in the orphanage and stuff. I haven’t thought much about fitting aaron and nicky into this so they may just be not related in the au tbh
-the two of them join the second army as we know- Andrew as a tracker and Neil as a junior cartographer- and during an attempted crossing of the fold, neil’s summoner powers reveal themselves
-in the books, prior to using her powers, alina is described as pale, sallow, sickly-looking, generally unattractive, and we discover that this sick appearance is caused by her suppressing her powers. Anyway, I think that prior to using his powers, neil has very dull blue eyes and his hair is more brown than auburn but afterwards we get the bright blue eyes and auburn hair Andrew is obsessed with
-the darkling is kevin btw- originally I had him as Ichirou but wrote myself into a whole I couldn’t get out of so evil kevin it is
-ichirou is Vasily, and riko is nikolai, the king is kengo and annoyingly in aftg riko’s mother is not named so we’re sticking with Tatiana
-back to kevin- I debated between abi and Kaleigh for a while but I’m gonna go with Kaleigh as Baghra just because I love her and I get more creative freedom with her personality. Wymack is ilya so he’s dead, soz
-we also get the absolute joy of Andrew, kevin, riko, and Ichirou fighting over neil despite neil being madly in love with Andrew and not even realising it
-even though alina was somewhat reckless about the amplifiers she was still wary of the risks and such, I think neil would be far more reckless, I don’t think he would has hesitated as much to kill the stag or the water serpent and instead the issue would be kevin’s men being closer behind them than they’d thought and catching up at the last second
-I don’t think anything would have slowed neil down once he’d set his sights on the goal of collect all three amplifiers and destroy the fold, he would have been non stop going and dragging Andrew along with him, up until he realises he has to kill Andrew at which point everything comes to a crashing halt
-neil would be much less willing to believe it, he would be convinced Andrew had made a mistake and there was still a firebird out there somewhere, just denying it and denying it and denying it until he physically can’t anymore, and once he’d accepted Andrew was the amplifiers he’d be helplessly looking for other ways that didn’t involve him dying up until the last second. Even then, I think Andrew would be doing the majority of the work towards neil killing him.
-the last battle of siege and storm would just be neil in a haze of rage and grief, absolutely merciless because Andrew was always the voice of reason, the one to stop him from going too far, but he can’t anymore because andrews Dead
-I think the aftermath, where neil finds out that andrew’s been brought back to life would a haze as well. He doesn’t quite believe it’s real but also it has to be because he doesn’t know what he’d do with himself if it wasn’t. it’s neil’s idea to fake his death, not to protect his egacy but to keep Andrew safe, to start again somewhere knew
-if you thought they were codependent and attached at the hip in aftg, it is nothing compared to how they act post andrew’s resurrection
-yeah, sometimes neil misses his power, missing the feeling of being invincible, but he’d rather never have that again then even risk losing andrew’s presence by his side
-I still have not read rule of wolves/king of scars so pls don’t talk to me abt that
-I will maybe add more in the future, especially of the middle of the trilogy because I mostly just hit the beginning and end
