Three things I Have Learned from Reading Website’s Information on Tumblr
1)    I have learned that Tumblr was made for Journals specifically and it started with a staff of just two people!
2)    From De Rosa’s perspective, I have learned that if I want to gain my own audience by using Tumblr, then the first thing that I should gain is the appreciation and loyalty of the Tumblr’s audience, otherwise they may feel like I have only joined Tumblr to promote my other websites.
3)    I have understood this method from the Co-Editor Cory Doctorow's social media saying that "Conversation is king. Content is just something to talk about." – So the key to my social media power is through communicating.

#3 HW 3
1. I learned that only 10% of Tumblr users use tags which is really weird and a shock to me due to Tumblr being one of the most used social media platforms.
2.  Posting multimedia content on Tumblr is easier than the other media networks.
3. There is a feature on Tumblr called “Fan Mail” which allows you to send mails to bloggers you follow.

Uploading to Tumblr faces obstacles
Tumblr has been called “the Lost and Found Department of the entire Internet” (salon.com). This is a poetic way of saying that content on Tumblr is so diverse yet unique harbouring something new for everyone.
MP3s uploaded to Tumblr cannot surpass 10MB and only one audio upload is allowed per day. A maximum of 5 minutes worth of videos at 100MB can be uploaded per day.
Tumblr experienced 42.1 hours of downtime in 2011.

Question 3
I learned that only 42% of the pictures online are original, the rest are either reused or retweeted. I also learned that each Tumblr is a combination of both Wordpress and Twitter and that is one of the reasons it is unique. And thirdly I learned that Tumblr helps reach a large audience through blogging that even wordpress and twitter struggle to reach

3 things that I learned about Tumblr is that it is an easy use tool for journalists and news organizations to build audience engagement. Secondly, when engaging with the audience, Tumblr, can make you a succesfful blogger/journalist. And finally, avoid writing posts without including any visuals, your content may seem boring since many people are visual learners.

2) to build brand loyalty on Tumblr, bloggers must pay and give more attention to readers in order to start meaningful conversation and posting something relatable with personal touches helps achieve that
3) Tumblr is a microblogging website that handles 40 million posts a day. the audience is mostly college educated and around the ages of 18-24
4) Tumblr users are offered many different post options like, simple quotes, videos, pictures, audios..etc and all of this includes the option of adding titles, captions to explain, and hashtags.
5) Tumblr users are also offered many ways to decide when they want to post like, add to que, publish on, save as draft, publish now.. etc to help them manage timings more efficiently

It came to my attention that both articles emphasize the use of visuals, such as imagery and videos to be able to attract more readers/viewers to whatever that’s being posted. Also, as a person who has never used Tumblr before, I was surprised to find that not one, not two, but hundreds of famous companies and organizations use this specific media platform to. I thought the purpose of that was clear, until I read the following quote, “ Social platforms like Tumblr should be about growing a community, If a news organization focused on growing their community first, they’ll find their numbers will grow eventually.” The main purpose wasn’t just to connect with the younger audience, but it was also a well thought out plan to eventually use the audience to create a solid base, which then the company/organization would establish a successful future upon.

HW 3
I learned that:
1. Tumblr is a combination of Twitter and Wordpress. It allows users to blog but in a more interesting way than Wordpress, and it has the same features as Twitter (Followers, Retweet = Reblog, Mention = Note)
2. Tumblr is a great way for bloggers to secure an audience. They are able to engage with a demographic that newspapers and other media organizations may not be able to otherwise reach.
3. On Tumblr, group blogs could be authored and edited by several users. Unlike any other social media platform which only allows the original author of the blog/post to edit and alter the content.
