New painting! Been working on this one for a few weeks! I haven't yet finished @thiswritingdesk 's landscape challenge due to unforeseen circumstances (had to briefly move out of my house and couldn't bring all my supplies with me), but I definitely pulled several tools and techniques I've learned through her tutorials to create this original piece, and I'm kind of blown away but what I've created with my own two hands! 🤯 This piece was (with permission!) inspired by a photo a family friend took while driving through the Caldor Fire area near Mt. Playing around with some watercolor paper from India. Top, Uniball pen first, second cone is pencil. In the very middle, Derwent watercolor pencil. The other two cones are the 31 Purplefish watercolor. Bottom, first is Derwent Coloursoft with white to blend. Next cone is the Coloursoft without white. Very last cone is Derwent pastel pencil. Now if only I could remember what brand of paper this is. Playing with @31purplefish basic mixing set. I am a color mixing idiot. It's not something I am naturally good at. Paper is Strathmore windpower watercolor. I put the little pans in an old Avon makeup case. I put whiteboard sticker over the mirror. Swipe to the last two pictures to see the problem with using these. 1) Makeup case does not lie flat.
