I need to add buttons and darts, but I feel like I've done pretty good so far

Guys. I have a decision to make. I'm doing a group cosplay for FedCon this year where I am Dr T'Ana from Lower Decks, which means I need a Lower Decks uniform. The ones you can buy online look kind of cheap so I was contemplating sewing my own (at least the top), which would be a challenge in precision sewing but I think my skills would be enough to make it look good.

However.

I am also absolutely in love with the idea of making Jadzia's 2024 outfit from "Past Tense" and if I want to do it I have to do it this year because come on. Unfortunately it consists of 4 different pieces that are not trivial to sew (a blouse, a vest, a dress (the easy part) and a jacket) and I 100% cannot sew this and also make a pattern and sew the Lower Decks uniform.

What do I do??? I've always wanted to sew a Star Trek uniform but this would take several iterations to fit me and work well (looking at you, asymmetrical jacket opening), plus finishings like the edge trim etc. On the other hand, I could then use this as a pattern base for making a nicer one for next year. But also for Jadzia's outfit I'll have to do so much patterning and fitting and the jacket looks very daunting.

I don't know what to do. Help? 😭
