Next Chapter
The air was different in Tokyo. In the depths of the forest, or up in the mountains, the air was crispier; however, the air of the city was more comforting for you. With your eyes closed, you breathed in. Once, twice, thrice. Getting the air to your head makes you think clearer, or so said your grandparent after hitting you in the back of the head with his cane during a training session. Still after remembering advice that should be helpful, you feel something creep behind your shoulder, but when your eyes snapped open as your head whipped around, there was nothing.
Projecting a dangerous amount of cursed energy ran in your family, and your technique required those copious amounts of it. It alerted curses of danger, and impressed sorcerers. On that mission with Maki and Yuta, you don’t know what went wrong. You’ve revisited it a thousand and one times, but still. You didn’t do anything wrong to cause cursed Rika to attack you that night. Nothing wrong that brought you to expand a complete domain for the first time, but you still weren’t allowed to exorcise your attacker when you felt most powerful, but most weak. Absolutely nothing wrong that led you to having to drop out of Tokyo Jujutsu High for months and move back to your family’s home to recover from a near death experience. Nothing wrong to deserve the scarring on your forehead. Nothing wrong, nothing wrong, nothing—
“You’re doing it again” Shoko called your attention. You blinked in confusion. “Spacing out. I told you, you’re fine now. Don’t just stand here” The woman with tired eyes ushered you out of the building where the infirmary stood. Last time you stood there you were barely conscious, walking slow steps while holding onto Panda. You took one last look at the building and took rushed, short steps towards where the clamoring was. It was a few days later than you agreed to return to the school, the ideal time frame was during training for the Kyoto Sister School Event, not at its start. Still, you knew you were well enough to compete.
You had last seen everyone in your year that eventful late November night. Even Megumi had rushed to the infirmary to check your state. Yuta apologized a hundred times and you could of course forgive, but never forget. You heard he was sent off, so after that information you assumed everyone else had stayed. And you confirmed so when you noticed the group and started recognizing them by their heads, even the ones from Kyoto. However, you didn’t recognize the boy with pink hair, or the girl with an orange bob of sorts. Something about him gave you a pang directly to your chest, but the electricity was replaced by warmth when your eyes landed on a grey haired boy staring directly in your direction, purple eyes wide, eyebrows about to hit the back of his head.
“Ah yes! That was my other surprise” You heard Gojo’s voice from afar. ‘Liar’ You thought and rolled your eyes but a smile persisted on your lips. You set one of your handbags on the floor and waved to the group, feeling the tears pool in the brim of your eyes. You laughed at Maki’s shocked expression, and how Panda tried to snap her out of it but she remained still as he shook her by the shoulders and dragged her with him.
You set your duffle bag and backpack down as the known and loved faces marched towards you. Rather involuntarily, you took a few steps towards Inumaki. Ever since you first met, you were drawn to him. As he was towards you. He liked your caring nature, kind personality with a fierce fighting spirit. You just liked his aura at first , and the late night conversations you held through messaging made you only like him more. Seeing you so hurt and saying goodbye was something that affected him gravely in the upcoming months and Yuta’s departure also took a toll on him.
You opened your mouth to direct towards the grey haired boy that was making your stomach do somersaults but it was shot into a line as you grabbed Maki’s wrist, her hand bare centimeters away from your cheek. “What are you doing?” After that night, your reflexes only got sharper, as did your anxiety.
“I wanted to check if it was actually your dumb ass or Gojo trying to play with us” Maki spoke as a matter-of-factly, but you could feel her pulse tremble. “You scared me!” She sighed and pulled you in for a tight hug. You tensed from the surprise. As far as you knew, Maki Zen’in didn’t even hug her sister Mai, but in that context due to the last few months, she felt closer to you rather than to her.
“I promised I wasn’t going to die on you” You sighed, and gave into the embrace. The last everyone had seen of you was in an extremely injured state. For all they could know, you bled to death on the way up to your family home and no one would have found out. It was just a matter  of whether they were able to see you again or not.
As she let you go and patted the top of your head, you smiled shyly at the boy waiting patiently for your time. “Kelp” He greeted you quite enthusiastically. You realized he was smiling before he wrapped you in his arms. And with that he said everything his mouth couldn’t. Now more than ever, he wished to say everything that was going through his head. How much he missed you, how glad he was to see you well, among other things. But he couldn’t. He just hoped the tightness and warmth of that embrace transmitted it well enough.
As you two separated, he just rested his hands on your shoulders, gazing into your eyes and scanning your face. Without any other word, he reached out to touch your hair, letting the choppy strands fall down as he released them. “Salmon” The hair you took so much pride on was gone. Chopped it all off after a side was affected in the attack, your mother was about to kill you when she saw the nervous wreck you were made after the uneven haircut.
The redness still not leaving your face, you chuckled “I’m glad you like it, Toge. I’m still not used to it” You touched the split ends and rubbed them between your fingertips before being unexpectedly lifted from your spot, making you laugh as Panda spun you around like a father playing with his child, stopping every once in a while to squeeze you in his arms. You laughed hysterically while flailing your limbs around, as Inumaki had his eyes blank, not appreciating you being snatched from him. Nevertheless, as the rest, he was more than happy to see you.
“That’s how you two should have greeted me!” You heard complaining from complained from afar, followed by the sound of a smack.
“Come! You need to meet the first years!” Panda said as he set you down and walked ahead, taking your luggage with him. Inumaki leaned down and grabbed your backpack, offering his hand and giving you a warm, welcoming and knowing look. ‘I love you’.

10 times, 1 occasion - Inumaki Toge
9. After the Storm
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Your first kiss was long and clumsy, but also rushed and strong. You giggled whenever your teeth clashed. It wasn’t perfect for anyone but the two of you. After a while, he tugged you out of the forest into your dorm rooms as it was also getting really windy. On the run back you giggled, even though the wind was making the raindrops clash against your skin in a way it itched. No one was in sight when you reached the residential complex, but you still could hear some noises coming from different rooms. The two of you clumsily walked down the hall of your dorm, hearing some giggling from Nobara’s bedroom.
“Takana” Toge gave you a chaste kiss on your lips and left for his own dorm. You stood there for a second, dumbstruck, before nodding and going inside your own room, still not processing the whole ordeal.
You knew he was going to come back, so you rushed to your bathroom, avoiding spreading the mud all over the floor. You stripped out of your dress and underwear before jumping inside the shower, sighing. You let the hot water run down your back as you slid down the bathroom wall. Reality started to settle in. You confessed your feelings and kissed Inumaki Toge under the pouring rain. It was something you probably had only dreamt about, but it was real. You still felt his thumbs pressing onto your cheeks, and the wet strands of his hair running through your fingers like fine silk. Oh god, where did that leave you now? Were you partners now? Or was it just a casual makeout session? Fuck buddies didn’t kiss under the rain. Or they don’t only kiss, for that matter.
You shook your head as you scrubbed the dirt out, watching the brown soapy suds leave your now gleaming skin to go down the drain. You sighed and exited the shower, wrapping a bathrobe around yourself, fitting your bath slippers before wrapping your wet hair on a microfiber towel. You hung out the dress to air dry before looking in the mirror, shrieking at the sight of ruined makeup. Jesus, did Toge see you that way and still kiss you? You cringed before taking the reusable cotton pads and the micellar water to remove all the makeup from your face. You decided to do your skincare routine, and left the room, yawning a bit.
“Kelp” A tiny voice greeted you from your bed. A smile arose to your lips as Toge laid there, looking at the pouring rain through your window. At this time, the sky should be starting to color in floss purple or pink, but it remained as dark as it was three hours before.
“Hi, love” You smiled and waved slightly before opening your closet, hearing Inumaki complain about the sudden light. You apologized quietly and reached in for your underwear, a pair of loose shorts, and a large pullover. You rushed to change in the bathroom and left your slippers behind, changing for the bedroom ones.
“Hi again” You muttered, laying down behind him. You snaked your hand under his shirt to hold him tight against you. You rested your chin on his shoulder and observed the rain falling as he did, but you did achieve to fall asleep first by the calming pitter-patter the climate phenomenon produced.
“Good night” He was able to mutter without being afraid of you getting cursed. He smiled happily when you didn’t react to his words, or when they didn’t echo through the silence. But what he did hear through the lack of noise was the thumping of his heart. He sighed contently and sunk into your arms, falling asleep with a smile on his face.
The next few days were a bit unproductive by the lack of space to train, as heavy rainfall dawned upon Tokyo. So, by default, you spend your days in either your room or Toge’s, and less often in the common area with the others, offering your thick hot cocoa with some of your world-renowned cookies or garlic bread. You noticed Toge kept writing all the time on your desk but cursed you away when you tried to snoop and hid the papers when anyone was near. You also noticed he observed you quite often. He observed you as you sat by your windowsill and hummed quietly, reading a book. He observed you when you woke him up by singing a little tune and organizing his room. He observed you as you vigorously whisked the hot cocoa mixture. He observed you as you danced under the rain with Itadori, singing Umbrella by Rihanna obnoxiously. Of course, people were watching you, but it was different. He had a different fondness in his face he had never looked at you with.
With the rainwater increase also increased the naps and the cuddling; you even fell asleep once with the door open and everyone barged in to stare at the two of you lovingly, Nobara almost holding back the tears while Gojo took some pictures he knew you would treasure later as much as you would argue with him for taking it. It was one of those naps that made Toge consider more things about you, how, for example, he definitely adored when you woke him up singing or humming something.
“Don’t let the sun kiss you before I do” He heard you with eyes closed. His eyes fluttered open as you picked your hair away from your face with a silk scarf full of flowers. You kept on humming but heard a displeased noise coming from your bed.
“Keep singing” He commanded with a raspy voice. You were, of course, forced to oblige, but not so deep down you gladly did so.
“Yea, the sun sets every evening, but I’ll never leave you” You sang quietly, approaching him by the bed. “Good afternoon, grumpy little guy” You gave him a chaste kiss by the lips. He seemed displeased again, so you covered your eyes with cursed energy.
“Kiss me more” He commanded, but failed as you shook your head, your ears wrapped in a blue flame.
“You still haven’t washed your teeth, silly” You fixed his hair, which from sleeping looked like his hair from the previous year; all spiky and in different directions.
Toge rolled his eyes, but he still smiled nevertheless. “Kelp” He greeted, gaining a sweet smile back from you.
“Look, it seems like it’s finally clearing up” You pointed to the light gray sky with scarce sunrays leaking through some thick clouds. “That’s why I was singing about the sun!”
Just after it had happened, Toge held the memory close to his chest, just like he did with the brown envelope with a moss green and navy blue seal stamp, your name was carefully written across the blank paper. You noticed he was trembling like a leaf when he handed the item to you a few days later after the memory, the rain clouds long gone, leaving you with the heat and the sun to train under. He gave you a tiny nod and left promptly. Now alone in your room a few hours later, you opened the envelope carefully and took out the pages of pure written word.
“ Hello, cookie
I can’t believe I’m writing this for you. I mean, I know what I’m going to say so I can’t believe I’ve gathered the courage to ask you. This might not be a lengthy one like the ones I’ve written before, but here you go.
As you might have figured, because you feel the same that I do, for the most part, I really really like you. And I think I’ve found a new hyper fixation in kissing you. But can you blame me? Your lips are plush soft, and I feel like they belong just against mine. I feel the same when you hold my hand, or when I hold you against me. It feels like we’re made for each other, that’s why, if you don’t mind me asking
Would you like to go on a date with me to the city next Saturday?
I’ll be awaiting your response promptly, not calmly, because I’m probably making rounds outside your door this instant waiting for your answer. Thanks for reading me once more.
I love you.
Yours, Toge. “

10 times, 1 occasion - Inumaki Toge
6. Mission
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
A/N: this is the longest chapter so far! it's a whopping 2.9k words so buckle up, it's a lengthy one. happy reading!
After another long day of training, loud knocking pulled you from your slumber. You had fallen asleep, taking a wistful afternoon nap next to Toge, whose arm was wrapped lazily around your waist while your head and hand rested on his chest. His eyes popped open right after yours.
“Open the fuck up!” You heard Maki shout, her knocks almost blowing down the door. You groggily got up fixing your yoga shorts and partly opened the door, to find her and Panda staring at you excitedly. They were in a hard euphoria, so intense they didn’t budge at Toge in one of your crop tops coming from behind you to open the door completely. She pushed an envelope towards you.
“Open it!” Panda urged. You’ve never seen Maki smile so brightly. With your manicured nail, you cut open the envelope to read the letter inside. You scanned through it. ``We are gladly informing you—’ ‘—recommended by Aoi Todo and Mei Mei—‘ ‘promotion to first-grade sorcerer.’ You blinked several times, reading the last part again. And again. And three times more just to confirm.
“First grade…” You whispered. You were currently in third grade due to inactivity, your promotion was considered, but due to your injuries, you stayed in that tier. Toge was reading from behind your shoulders, and once he was finished, he beamed, pulling you in for a tight hug. The pressure suddenly turned immense, but you knew you could do it.
For the next week, you woke up at 5 AM for training. Each morning, Toge would be snoring deep in his sleep, his tongue poking out, and you would kiss his forehead before heading out the door in leggings, your top of choice, and a track jacket with the school crest and name on the back.
“I win” Maki pointed at you with her blade. You panted and decided to take the risk, even if she could slice your throat open in the move. It was around 9 AM, and Toge was accompanied by Panda, the three first years, Gojo, and a special grade sorcerer you’ve only heard of.
“No, you don’t” A pair of cursed threads wrapped around her ankles as you threw her on the opposite of yours and you slid out from between her legs. You landed on your knees, Maki on her back. “I do” You dusted off your tank and your sweatpants as you got up. Maki groaned across from you. That was something you had never tried before, so she couldn’t expect it from you.
“Ah! My students are so talented!” Gojo clapped excitedly while giggling. The man next to him, Megumi and Nobara rolled their eyes. “I’m such a great teacher!”
“You haven’t taught us a single thing in months” Maki deadpanned. The sorcerer next to him narrowed his eyes, but Gojo just kept on laughing it off, the group approaching the two of you.
“Tuna” Toge passed a towel and your water bottle. You beamed through an exhausted smile, taking it gladly. You took tiny sips of the water to not overwhelm your system and dried the fat drops of sweat off your forehead. Your eyes landed on the suited man, brows slightly furrowed. He was…. Interesting looking by his fashion choices, but you didn’t know who he was in the slightest. As if he was reading your mind, Gojo started speaking.
“For those of you who don’t know, this is Nanami-san! He is such a great friend of mine—“ Gojo placed an arm across his shoulders.
“I am not.” Nanami was quick to respond, not humoring him in the slightest. He was stiff under the other man’s grip.
“—And he will be one of you guys’ lucky companions to your first-grade promotion missions!” Gojo patted him on the shoulder, but the man didn’t even budge at him. “The missions will be individual, each of you will be accompanied by a senior sorcerer to judge your performance and assist you in case anything happens. Questions? No? Great!” He didn’t even allow for you to actually raise your hand and ask. Then you were distributed; Gojo was taking Megumi and Nobara, Panda, and Itadori were going with Todo, Maki was going with Mei Mei and you were going with Nanami.
Ijichi drove you to the site, and your heart almost stopped at the sight of a primary school. Oh god. You gulped, feeling the air get heavier. Oh no, not this. You closed your eyes trying to find relief, but only relieved that night. You remembered your screams of help, the smell of your skin burning, the taste of your blood dripping down your forehead, Yuta’s screams from outside your domain to not exorcise Rika, the teary look Toge gave you as you slipped in and out of consciousness.
“Is something wrong?” Nanami turned to you, noticing your heavy breathing and weepy eyes. Ijichi caught on and informed Nanami of the incident you endured last year, and his mind seemed to be refreshed, as his brows shot up to then relax. “Look, if you don’t want to do this, it’s fine. Life is more than just jujutsu”
You held down a sob from down your throat and shook your head. You could do this. You needed to do this. For yourself. Suddenly, your phone vibrated.
[ Inumaki Toge @ your momma’s panties: which site did you get? ]
[ how is it? is it too much? ]
[ Maki Zen’in: i’m at the basement of a shopping mall ]
[ Panda @ your momma’s panties: yuuji and i are at an abandoned factory, something to do with an accident here in the 40s ]
[ You: i’m at a primary school. ]
You locked your phone as it started to vibrate incessantly, messages from your worried classmates pouring in. Toge found himself the most worried, anxiety starting to eat him away as he spammed your phone to no avail, as you didn’t answer or read messages, so impulsively, he decided to do something.
You breathed in before exiting the car, and the amount of cursed energy there hit you right in the gut. You walked up to cross the street to get to the building but felt the airy presence of a veil. Oh?
“There’s a veil” You informed Nanami, who approached you and crossed his hand through it to confirm. He nodded, before indicating you with his head to cross the veil. You did so, and he followed suit. You gulped, the school was decaying with the cursed energy
“I’ll be waiting for you outside of the school” He fixed his blazer. “Shout if you need any help”
“See you on the other side, then” You offered him a tiny smile before entering the school. The place was decaying, rotten brown walls full of a strange sticky substance, windows broken and fog surrounding the area. Good enough for your situation, the place seemed to be free of any victims. You felt something creep up on you, before getting launched towards some lockers.
“Ugh!” You groaned as you hit your back pretty roughly. You fell down on your knees and faced the first-grade curse, who seemed powerful as it crept up on you. The curse grabbed you with one of his arms, but you slashed through it and pulled back, falling once more on your back. You sniffed and got up as the curse made loud noises, reaching for your armband, pulling out three needles. Your free hand lit up with cursed energy but had to move quickly to avoid the tentacles the curse had. “Acupuncture needle” You threw the seemingly inoffensive ball of cursed energy “Piercing destroyer!”
The curse froze in its actions as large needles pierced through his vital organs, purple blood spewing all over the walls. “One needle and it’ll be exorcised” You reminded yourself, and ran up one of his stale tentacles to reach its head. Its long tongue grabbed you by the ankle, the saliva started to burn through your pants, but you did a somersault, causing it to rip, just as you punched in the needle to the back of its neck in your fall. You rolled through the ground to absorb the impact. You got up and watched the purple blood disappear, but the veil wasn’t broken.
“Nanami-senpai, I—“ Even with an injured ankle, you jogged to approach the door, and at the mention of his name, the man turned back, only to watch the door close in on you by itself. “Shit!” You groaned, and your efforts to open the door were useless. You heard him outside try to force the door open again. As you turned desperately to look at your surroundings, you heard a demonic laugh echo through the halls. Sucking in a breath, you ran up the stairs to investigate the second floor.
“Special grade curses containing one of Sukuna’s fingers look like this” Megumi showed the drawing to the three of you. It was a very detailed drawing of a curse with several eyes that walked on its hind legs, understood human communication, and laughed a lot. “They’re strong, but not invincible”
Remembering those words, you gulped as you took the last step and looked around the floor, hearing the laughter closer, but still far. You ran up to the third floor, the sound was closer with each step upwards you took. It had to be there. But it turns out, it wasn’t. You could see the door to the roof was open, and you sprinted to the scene, a strong amount of cursed energy hitting you right away, pushing you against the ledge. You must have hit your head pretty hard, as all you heard was noises from far away and a constant beep. Your eyes started to lose focus, but you knew you weren’t backing away too easily.
“Thread” You rasped, calling the curses attention, this time, you shaped your cursed energy into threads instead of getting a physical sample. “Charlotte’s web!” The thread launched forward and wrapped the curse in an intricate web, slowly thickening. You knew it wasn’t enough, but you needed to buy yourself some time to gain strength.
Outside the veil, Ijichi waited patiently in the car, almost falling asleep “Inumaki-kun?” He perked up at the sight of a gray-haired head, who turned to him. “You can’t be here!”
“Sleep!” Toge shouted, and so he did. If you needed a getaway car, he would drive it, or just commanded him to wake up. Probably. Without a care, he surpassed the veil and looked around for you. He knew you could take care of yourself, but the site was just a letdown. He had to make sure you’re okay.
“What are you doing here?” Nanami asked him, looking at him up and down. He seemed distressed.
“Cookie?” Toge asked securely, looking around for you. Nanami raised his arm, and then he got it quickly, judging by your interaction earlier, you meant something to him.
“The doors are locked. Windows are shut by a substance. I don’t know what’s going on there” Nanami was sincere to Toge, whose body moved uncomfortably at the news.
“Acupuncture Needle” You groaned, getting up, taking another one from your sleeve. You placed it between your middle and ring finger, calculating well the point on the curse’s neck as the needle lit with blue cursed energy “Mobility detainment!” The needle launched forward as you were hit by another surge of yellow cursed energy. You were already too close to the ledge. Uh oh.
At the speed of light, you reached to your armband and pulled out the thread, feeling your body be shaken by the forces of gravity pulling you down. “Grandma, give me strength” You looked at the ring, which shined briefly. You felt relaxed for a moment as a smile crept up from your cheeks.
You heard Nanami call out for you as you fell. Inumaki zipped down his collar, but he knew deep down, there wasn’t much to do. “Thread: Charlotte’s web!” The thread launched itself onto the almost immobile curse and held onto it. You held on tightly to the thick blue rope, breathing “I’m okay!” You shouted back. Your brows furrowed. Toge? He was looking incredibly distressed. Had he come for you?
You pressed your feet onto the outer walls of the school, but as you tugged to climb back, the thread seems looser. However, you did achieve to reach the top, only for you to face the curse instantly as you raised your head. You were starting to grow even angrier. He chuckled before grabbing the threat and raising it, looking at you before releasing it. Now you were pissed off. And at the brink of death. “Thread: Lasso! You’re coming with me, motherfucker!”
You roped in the curse, the two of you falling from probably one of the tallest primary schools you’ve ever seen. Nanami closed his eyes, waiting for the impact, but it never came, as you closed your eyes and called “Domain expansion: Seamstresses’ cave!”
Toge’s eyes widened as he watched the rope in your hand expand, and start to wrap you and the curse inside, like a giant yarn ball. Nanami cleared his throat, clearly amazed as the domain floated just less than three feet from the grass.
Inside, your eyes were shut, trusting your senses and gut to follow the correct pattern. You stood in the middle of a cave, a perfect circle for you to occupy. A square thread formed in your extended hands. There, you started to move them, weaving by forming patterns with moving each corner into a different one. With each move of your finger, you avoided any incoming attacks coming for you. And with each step the curse took, the walls full of stalagmite started to close in on it. It sustained the first shift, but when you shifted corners to different fingers, you heard the crunch and spill of blood.
You chuckled. ‘Almost there’ You reminded yourself as you felt your limbs going numb; unlike other sorcerers, creating a domain drained you profusely. Another shift from corners and you opened your eyes, the curse was completely crushed. You moved forward, the stalagmite opening space for you.
You hummed, reaching in to grab Sukuna’s finger carefully, and wrapping it in the sealing paper full of runes. You walked towards the center and closed your eyes, soon your domain dissolving. You fell to the ground, hearing a crack. You complained as all the pain started to rush in. Your ankle, your head, and something else that you couldn’t pinpoint since your whole body hurt. You clutched the finger in your hand as Nanami and Inumaki approached you.
“So can I get that promotion?” You coughed, showing Nanami the finger. Toge helped you up, wrapping your arm around his shoulders to aid you in walking. Your ankle was slightly burnt by the poison of the first grade, your head was bleeding, your eyes were shot with blood from the impact and you were sure something else inside of you was very wrong.
“You’ve performed well, you’ve got my respect,” Nanami admitted, watching the veil dissolve from above you, showing the clear blue sky that started to darken. You had taken longer than you thought inside. “I will send my best possible recommendation”
You smiled, walking on par with Inumaki. “What are you doing here?”
“Salmon” He replied firmly, holding you closer to him as you approached the car. You shook your head.
“I’m okay, you didn’t have to get so worried” You groaned as Nanami helped you inside the car. You held your head, feeling the blood trickle down your neck.
“Why is he asleep?” You shrugged at Nanami’s question, and he turned to Inumaki who instantly looked away.
He sighed, defeated, under the older male’s gaze and unzipped his collar. “Wake up” Inumaki spoke, waking Ijichi up, who seemed panicked.
“You got any bandages around here?” You sat up and rummaged around the car, opening the glove compartment to find some. “Eye drops? Anyone?” Nanami tossed you a bottle of Refresh Tears. “Thank you. Ugh, I’m starving” You wrapped your head the best you could. Without you noticing, Toge took a picture.
“Take us to the burger place” Toge commanded Ijichi, who did as he asked.
“Damn, you’re pretty rebellious today” You laughed, flipping your septum down to clean it of any possible blood. He just gave you a pretty, innocent smile and shrugged. Nanami pinched the bridge of his nose but didn’t do anything to stop the antics.

Before you could open the door, Inumaki called out for you “Cookie” He signaled you over to his side with his head. You hummed in questioning as you approached him, observing as he leaned in and gave you a kiss on your bandaged forehead, to show how proud he was of your work that day. I love you.

10 times, 1 occasion - Inumaki Toge
3. Group Battle (II)
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter | Previous Part | Next Chapter
You ran. You ran like you’ve ever run before in your life. Your boots clicked down the hardwood floor, matching the loud heartbeat you heard inside your burning ears. You were ahead of them by a few steps. And after the four of you, came a flood of tree branches trying to catch you by the minimum mistake that occurred. The plan was simple: Toge stopped the attacks, giving you time to attack the curse. Then repeat, until you try to get outside the veil.
“Stop!” Inumaki commanded, stopping the wooden balls about to be thrown at the group. Quickly, you doused the threads in your hands with cursed energy, making them grow in length.
“Thread: Whiplash!” You called. The thin threads launched forward, hitting like whips, leaving open lacerations all over the curse but still, it seemed as if there was no damage at all by the speed of her healing. At this point, you’ve realized Toge has started drinking cough syrup as you run. He was getting to his limit, his throat felt like fire.
Noritoshi Kamo tensed in place, remembering the principal’s words when he asked about your arrival specifically. “Under no circumstance, provoke the returned second year. Their technique to its full potential is not something humans can handle. Beware” He thought it was an understatement, but seeing you in action he realized he probably wouldn’t survive what you were doing to the curse.
The four of you reached a window that guided you to another roof, you jumped to reach it. The four of you faced the Hanami once again, Nue landing on Megumi’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, Inumaki will stop it. Go!” The bird lounged forward, and blood splattered all over. The cursed spirit had gotten Nue. Shit. If you were going according to plan, Inumaki was supposed to use his cursed speech, but blood sputtered out of his mouth as he doubled over. Your eyes widened as you turned to look at him, concerned. Toge looked up and gave you a look to not worry, but you saw the real exhaustion behind his eyes. Without even realizing it, Kamo was knocked out cold by Hanami, getting caught by Megumi.
You went ahead and checked his pulse before walking towards Megumi and facing the curse, placing your hand on his shoulder “Let me.”
Your cursed energy grew visibly around you as you pulled a needle from your armband. “Acupuncture needle: Mobility detainment expansion” All your cursed energy flowed down to your hand, your palm closed shut. The curse just shrugged off, taking a step forward, to then be stuck in place.
Hanami strained, trying to move. “What’s happening? Who is this? Their cursed energy levels are off the charts” As she tried to summon branches, they grew incrusted in needles that were later torn apart by them. As you started to open your palms, the blue needles started to grow in size, length, and thickness. The curse sputtered, purple blood starting to show.
From your armband you wrapped some thread around your free hand “Thread: Charlotte’s web” You called, your other hand lighting in blue, and with the increasing needles came to restraint from a thin thread made of cursed energy. As you threaded it inside the needle, a thread wrapped around the curse’s body, like a web. You looked relaxed for someone using such a ruthless technique.
“Go for the eyes!” Megumi shouted from behind, tending to Inumaki. The rope tensed around its branch eyes, making the curse complain in agony. You smiled. If you were able to stab her with the original needle, you were going to be able to exorcise her. Right there and then.
You lounged forward, the needle pointing out through your closed fist, between your middle and ring finger. “Acupuncture needle!: Piercing Destro—“ Less than a foot away from her, you felt a pain in your side, making you choke, feeling the taste of metal fill your throat and tongue and fall back a few feet away.
“Senpai!” Fushiguro called for you. The binds you constructed Hanami in were gone. Ignoring the pain, you tried to finish your job, but as you tried it only grew, making you involuntarily wail. You stared at the branch with noisy buds with teeth growing out of you.
Close by was Toge, who stared at you in horror. Now the roles were reversed, you were giving him a look to not worry, but the tears on the brim of your eyes said otherwise. You could feel the buds crushing through your ribcage, making it hard to breathe securely. The pain was too much, too hard. You blinked a couple times as your eyes emptied and shut down as if you were going into a deep sleep with your uniform stained crimson.
“Cookie!” Toge rushed to you, catching your pulse. It was completely fine. You probably just passed out from the shock. His mouth went into a thin, straight line as he stood up and walked forward with purpose.
“Inumaki senpai…” Megumi called out, concerned as he stepped to face the curse, taking slow steps towards her. He knew there was no way of stopping him.
“Blast away!” He shouted full of anger, making Hanami crash into the roof in front of the group. Toge threw up blood from his throat and gave out, passing out close to you. Now that he had the opportunity, he defended you and protected you even if it cost him his own health. I love you.

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Of course, with your heart fluttering on your sleeve, you had said yes to the proposal. The smile that arose from Toge’s flustered cheeks was enough to make you melt. He threw himself onto your arms, and pecked your cheek with his lips a couple times, being very noisy. I love you.
“What are you doing there?!” Nobara shrieked at you laying on your bed, the day of. “Get up!”
You only grunted. You were disheveled, and in truth, scared. Very much scared. Even though you spent all the time together, what if he thinks you’re not good enough for him and just stops talking to you right there and there? Now you moped in your bed, overthinking since almost 4 AM last night.
Maki rolled you out of the bed, but you only went limp in her arms. She just sighed and threw you over her shoulder like a sack, taking you over your bathroom.
She set you down and forced yourself to look at the mirror “Look at you” You looked over at her and groaned “You’re a talented, amazing, beautiful, unique, incredible person and today is going to be great. Go have a shower!” She pushed you into the shower and left the bathroom.
You breathed in and out carefully and nodded decisively, taking in your friend’s words. You showered with a whole new mentality, but still feeling the regular anxious turmoil in your stomach. You took your time as it was a wash day, wanting to have clean hair to style it as you pleased. You heard Nobara even interrupt as you showered, walking in grumbling about the time you were taking, claiming you had taken too long and it didn’t “fit your schedule”, whatever that meant, since you clearly didn’t have a planned out schedule for the day.
You dried your hair as you exited the bathroom, done with your skincare routine.
“So we have picked three different outfits, what do you think?” Nobara ambushed you almost immediately, dragging you towards your bed to look at the fit exposition. You hummed and peaked outside, it was a slightly windy day, so the skirt was a no-no. It was a bit chilly outside so walking around in beach clothing wasn’t happening either, so that let you on your final option. It was a sage green checkered oversized pant with breathable fabric, a cropped tight white tee, and a sage green cardigan, with a pair of black platform ankle-high Converse and a tote bag.
You nodded to the option and ushered them out “I’ll let you in when I’m done!” You threw the door behind them, hearing the structure above you rumble a bit. Oops. You breathed in and out, taking in the solitude you so needed at the moment. You hummed to the music still playing from the bathroom and headed towards your drawers, taking out your underwear before fitting the clothes. You checked the outfit from every single angle, even on camera, and gave a happy little noise of approval to the ensemble. You then sat down and started to pull some simple makeup; black smudged liner on your top waterline and lid, and on your bottom waterline, you added some shimmery olive green. Your base was soft and glowy, making your blush and highlight look similar in style. You gave your brows and hair a final brush before applying some chapstick and checking your breath. Just in case.
“What do you guys think?” You opened the door to face Nobara and Maki, the latter looking unamused at her friend’s antics, as she squealed and gave you twirls to show off your outfit.
“You look perfect!” Nobara concluded, brushing off some dirt from your shoulders. “Oop, it’s almost time. We’ll leave you, good luck, love” And so they both trotted off somewhere else.
You waited by the door, as the time Toge promised was nearing by around two minutes. But somehow, they were the longest minutes of your life. You fiddled with your thumbs, tapping your foot up and down while looking at the floor, anxious.
“Kelp” You heard a tiny voice from the end of the corridor, and a smile from ear to ear spread across your face. Toge was wearing straight-cut blue jeans, a white sweater layered with a navy blue varsity knit vest. He was wearing a navy blue fabric face mask, as he usually did when he was around non-sorcerers or it was just a special occasion.
“Hi, Inumaki-kun!” You beamed unintentionally, feeling a bit icky inside, in case that came to sound very clingy of sorts. But all those worries washed away when he lowered his mask to smile back in the same fashion, cheeks flushed. He offered his hand for you to hold, as an invitation to proceed with your adventure. You bowed your head lightly before holding it, walking off with him towards the exit of the school.
You skipped through the streets of Tokyo in happiness after you exited the train, walking hand in hand with Toge, who rather than observing everything around him, was observing you. The way you chuckled at him unapologetically, the way your eyes glimmered when you looked through the windows of a shop. You bought some boba and sat in a park for a while, talking quietly between the two of you, watching the sunset. But the real view before him was you; how your hair was highlighted by the sun, the way the rays caressed your soft skin and even the way you almost choked on a tapioca pearl of your taro root tea seemed poetic, since he got to enjoy your laughter for at least twenty minutes. I love you.
He checked his clock once it hit 7 PM, and the city became alive as it started to light up. “Tuna tuna” Toge tugged on your sleeve as he got up. You caught on immediately and went towards the recycling bins, sorting your trash appropriately.
With his arm around your waist, and yours around his shoulders and walked on par towards your destiny; a café in Shibuya. Inumaki avoided a certain detail that made you squeal, just because he wanted to see your surprise; it was a fairyland café full of cats. You hugged him tightly by the surprise, nuzzling your nose into his pale neck, to which in his mind, he replied with an I love you, but wrapped your arms around your torso instead.
You practically melted inside when an orange cat jumped on your lap and started toying with your hair. You chuckled, petting the friendly little fella, not realizing Toge was taking a video, but you soon noticed when a cat knocked his phone out of his hand and jumped off the table to play with the device by tossing it around. Toge seemed angry, but the soft eyes the cat gave him when he forcibly took his phone away made him want to cry. You enjoyed a light dinner in the café, eating your favorite pastries, snacks, and lunch box cakes with coffee or hot cocoa. Once the date seemed to be coming to a close, you realized Toge’s hand was shaking as he pets the Siamese cat sitting right next to him.
“Everything okay?” You asked, slightly concerned, putting down the spoon you were using to eat the square of strawberry shortcake. He just shook his head, embarrassed, and reached to find something in his pocket. He slid a pink Post-it in the shape of a heart towards you. You didn’t even get to flip it before a flustered Inumaki yelped and hid his face between his hands, unable to look at you.
You slowly flipped the note for the handwriting to face you specifically. You read it once, you read it a thousand times, trying to comprehend what the words meant, but it was all so clear:
‘Would you like to be my partner?’

4. Tending
Tumblr media
A/N: oop i'm on a roll rn with two chapters in two days in a row. the next one is probably going to take a while but seriously I'm so happy with all the support, it keeps me going. this is teeth rotting fluff, so enjoy! ~g
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
No matter how many times he was reminded that you were okay, Toge would rather die before leaving your bedside. He watched over you, in his navy sweats and Jujutsu Tokyo Tech gray pullover sweatshirt, taking a few showers to change back into the same clothes. He cooked ramen and onigiri balls in the common kitchen down the hall. He only left for more than ten minutes to visit Fushiguro, who met the same fate as you, but left you with Maki or Panda, even Gojo if he was around and no one else was available.
The latter liked drawing things on your expensive drawing paper with the expensive ink you so hoarded from others and placing them on the board by your desk, next to Post-It notes wishing you well from fellow Tokyo Tech students, and Kyoto students alike. Kamo had wished you a speedy recovery and flattering words on your technique, Miwa left a well-wishes message with hearts drew on and Todo wrote that he lamented your injury because your taste in women was far beyond better than the rest of your fellow classmates, except for Itadori, and complimented your ‘Tina Snow’ Megan Thee Stallion poster.
Once again, while placing a damp, cold towel on your forehead, Toge sighed deeply, cleaning away the fever you were sweating. You breathed through your mouth, nose, cheeks, and lips settling in a darker red color by the heat you emanated. Shoko healed you and Megumi just perfect, but as a difference, your body wasn’t reacting well to the invasion. Still, Inumaki diligently took care of your every need while you slept for the past three days, fighting the urge to command for you to wake up, and watch those lively eyes flutter open while a smile blossoms on your cheeks. They were waiting for you to continue the goodwill event officially after the “minor” issue with the special grades.
It was late in the afternoon, the orange sun leaking through the blinds. Toge set his book down for a second and stared at you. You looked so serene, so calm and peaceful for the first time in the past few days, whereas you looked agitated and distressed in your slumber. He leaned down and kissed your forehead. You shuffled happily in your sleep and laid even deeper into your bedsheets.
“Wow! This room is so cool!” Itadori gasped as he passed the doorframe. Toge narrowed his eyes but still stood up to greet the first years. “How come my room doesn't look like this?!”
Your room was cozy. The color scheme was warm; your walls were a very light beige, your bed was composed of a terracotta-colored duvet, light pink bed sheets, and a white throw blanket. The nightstand was a yellow bookshelf with a lamp on top, a framed picture resting there, along with your phone. Your desk was yellow as well with a bulletin board on the wall in front of it. On the desk rested some plants, an assortment of drawing, painting, and coloring supplies, aside from a Bluetooth speaker that resembled an old radio. The wall behind your bed was full of posters of artists and movies, and artwork that either you painted or you commissioned. By the window, there was a light moss green couch with different pillows, and a lavender purple throw Inumaki used to wrap himself in when he napped. He sat next to your bed on a light pink office chair he positioned on the empty space between your closet and your bed. It was a colorful room, to say the least.
“Because you’re a man, Yuuji” Nobara rolled her eyes and walked towards your bed, combing her fingers through your hair to brush it slightly. She fluffed the pillows behind your head and fixed the collar of the silk pajamas you wore specifically made for when injured. Maki spoke so highly of you, Nobara wanted to treat you her best, because she knew you deserved it.
“How is she?” Megumi asked Inumaki. Nobara and Itadori were both snooping around the room. Yuuji browsed the bookshelf with a frown, while Kigusaki looked through your cosmetics bag before heading to the bathroom, which stood to the door on the left when one entered the room, talking about checking out your skincare routine.
“Tuna” He signaled his phone and got to typing. Soon, Megumi’s phone buzzed. Itadori rushed over to read the text over his shoulder, Kugisaki on her tippy toes to read from his other shoulder as well.
[ Inumaki Toge: they’re okay. shoko said they’ll wake up soon enough. probably just drained ]
“So you’ve been here with her all these past few days? All the time?” Kugisaki asked.
Toge nodded, shifting comfortably on the seat “Shake” He confirmed.
“Aww! I wish I had a partner like you!” Nobara sighed dreamily. Toge froze. His jaw clenched and his eyes widened to almost hit every corner of his face. As if it was even possible, he turned paler. He could feel his heartbeat drumming in his ears. Partner? Your partner? Why would anyone think that? You were just a friend… unless you didn’t want to be. A friend he had strong feelings for. A friend he had its own pet name for. A friend he loved. Oh my. His face went from paperwhite to a bright red, as he once again zipped up the collar of his shirt to cover his lower half.
“Look what you did, Nobara! You broke him!” Itadori shook her, while Inumaki stared blankly at the floor. Fushiguro realized Kugisaki had touched a nerve since the attraction between the two of you was so apparent, everyone had seen you two laugh together incessantly, hold hands, hug each other often, and damn, he even had a word in his vocabulary to refer to you specifically. He pointed with his head to the door and the three left silently for a second. Inumaki watched them leave and sighed into his hands. That was frustrating.
You shuffled in your sleep slightly, Toge’s attention turning to you quickly, standing upright from his chair to look as you fluttered your eyes to stare back at him. Just as he expected, a smile arose from your mouth as soon as you noticed him there, before you went into a coughing fit. He panicked and took a few steps towards your yellow mini-fridge, scouting for a bottle of water, which he found soon enough. He held the bottle for your mouth, with which you gladly took in and drank all the water in a matter of seconds. He cleaned your wet cheeks and sat at the foot of the bed carefully, as you tried to sit upright without disturbing your wound.
“Kelp” He greeted you, with his usual fondness towards you and a smile he tried to hide.
“Hello, Inumaki-kun” You rasped with a blush on your cheeks, coughing slightly before smiling at him. “Don’t worry, I’m here; I’m okay”
He sighed deeply and the weight on his shoulders he didn’t even realize he had lifted. He now knew that you were okay. His heart fluttered in his chest as you reached out your hand, urging him to get close to you. Once he did, you combed your hand through the gray strands, making him melt into your touch.
He leaned to lay down by your side. “How’s everyone? What time is it? How long have you been here?” You bombarded him with questions he was more than glad to answer.
Toge just looked at you briefly before grabbing his phone. He typed something and soon your phone vibrated next to you on your nightstand.
[ Inumaki Toge: everyone is ok. ]
[ fushiguro had the same cursed buds as you in his stomach, he’s fine now and i think in the hallway. ]
[ it’s 5:30 PM. i’ve been here the last 3 days you’ve been unconscious ]
You stared at the messages in shock “You’ve been here three days? You seriously didn’t have to, I was asleep”
“Okaka'' Toge shook his head with a frown. He typed something else. [ Inumaki Toge: i was worried about you. besides, you kept sweating, i had to level your temperature often because of the fevers ]
Your eyes watered as Toge’s widened. He panicked. Had he said something wrong? Did you get the wrong undertone from his texts? If that was it, should he start to use tone indicators? “Thank you” You sniffled “You didn’t really have to take care of me”
Right now, he really wished to speak to you clearly, so you really knew what he meant. “Tuna Mayo” He was only able to mutter before reaching to caress your back as quiet tears flowed down your cheeks. Soon enough, your phone vibrated.
[ Inumaki Toge: i got you your favorite tea :)) chai with a touch of nutmeg and lavender ]
“Aw…” You smiled “Thank you” You sighed deeply, the usual warmth spreading across your chest. The one that came whenever he bought you something or gave you a hug, or a brief touch.
[ i’ll go heat it up, okay? stay put ]
He removed his arm from your healthy side, and slipped out of the bed comfortably, removing the collar of his neck to kiss your forehead. I love you.

10 times, 1 occasion - Inumaki Toge
5. Misunderstanding
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Even with your victory at the last event of the exchange and your stellar participation in it, you were angry. Not angry, confused. Toge had not spoken to you all morning. He either said his usual words to Maki and Panda or texted them. With you, however, every time he was about to talk to you, he regretted it and turned away. Have you done something? Said something? You spent yesterday and the day before that so well. He never once looked concerned or had given you the cold shoulder. Frustrated, you took off your personalized dirty jersey, only leaving you in the navy protective tight shirt underneath, and cleaned your pants from the orange dirt of the baseball field while walking away behind Maki, Inumaki, and Panda, and in front of Yuuji, Megumi and Nobara. You were almost given an out, but you slid in to secure the second base.
“Calm down” Fushiguro held your wrist down, stopping your aggressive movements. “You guys go ahead,” He told Nobara and Yuuji, who were both staring at you with light concern. When they didn’t move, he ushered them away with his hand.
“I’m fine” You persisted, trying to remove your hand from his grip. He stared you down with severity, as you stared back sternly, trying to take your hand away.
Coming from a community up in a mountain, both Jujutsu schools were far away. However, sorcerers in your family were unable to train you by their amount of occupation on the field or just because they were in retirement. Or dead. So, you were sent to Tokyo every summer to train. You and Megumi were raised in the jujutsu world side by side, so there was an unspoken, true trust between the two of you. You cared for him, he cared for you equally. You knew he was pretty reserved about his feelings, so it wasn’t like he was your personal therapist, or likewise. He noticed right away you were angry and came quickly to your aid when Toge didn’t. Nobara was pretty… observant, to put it kindly, of other people’s businesses. She realized right away when you walked into the common room how Toge looked away when you sat in front of him. Or when everyone’s phone vibrated on the bench except for yours. Or when you hit the ball perfectly for a homerun and Momo didn’t get a chance to catch it as it hit her in the head on its way down, he didn’t cheer for you to catch second base like the others did. Considering the mental shutdown he saw Toge having, Megumi decided it was best to approach you, as you became more visibly upset with each altercation.
“You’re upset” He deadpanned, and all the tension from your body disappeared as you slumped, your head looking directly at the floor. With a sigh, Megumi released your wrist.
“I don’t know what I did, he just won’t even look at me, I’m so scared... '' You sighed, looking up and throwing your arms out in frustration. Fushiguro’s lips tensed even further into a line, a bit sad to see you so frustrated. “Does he not like me anymore? Is it the scarring? Does it make me uglier? I-I-” You started spiraling, pacing around impatiently. Once again, he held you down, your panicked face meeting his neutral expression.
“I think he’s scared,” Fushiguro said plain and simple. Your face contorted from panic to confusion in a few quick seconds. “But you have to talk to him about it”
“If he wants to…” You sighed and shrugged. You gave him a sad smile “Thank you, ‘Gumi-kun”
“You’re welcome, senpai” He nodded solemnly.
“How about a hug?” You stretched out your arms like a child. His face dropped in disgust and began to walk away. “Oh c’mon! Give me the honor of receiving a hug from you, Fushiguro '' You jogged after him. He only picked up his pace, running towards the dorms. “C’mere, Fushiguro-kun!” You ran after him and he started to run faster.
“No!” He shouted back to you, but you could see the smile trying to creep from behind his eyes. Gojo was sitting on the stoop outside the first year’s dorm. Watching you chase after each other in circles, he laughed loudly, snapping a video and a picture, where you had tears on the brim of your eyes from laughing and a huge smile, with Megumi next to you a few steps ahead, with half a toothless smile that was more than enough for you.
Toge looked outside the window to hear all the clamoring, to find you on the floor squeezing Megumi to death in a half hug, half headlock, laughing like there was no tomorrow. His heart skipped a beat but his face turned sour as he squeezed the chest of his top. He closed the window and laid on his bed, collar down, facing the ceiling quietly. His phone soon vibrated in his pocket.
[ Maki Zen’in: tf is wrong with you? ]
[ Inumaki Toge: wym? ]
[ Maki Zen’in: why are you ignoring them? ]
Toge sat up, tense. The truth is, he didn’t know. He could have all his internal conflicts while still talking to you. But he was scared. You had never defined labels, so maybe you didn’t like him that much for you to consider your boyfriend. He was scared. Very scared. Scared that you had an awkward conversation that would end it all, scared you didn’t like him that much and had to say it to his face.
[ Inumaki Toge: i’m scared ]
[ Maki Zen’in: ? ]
[ Inumaki Toge: kugisaki said i was their partner. ]
[ i just, i don’t know if i am. ]
[ i don’t know if they like me in that way. i’m scared to lose them ]
[ Maki Zen’in: god, you’re an idiot ]
[ just talk to them soon, okay? ]
[ Inumaki Toge: mkay ]
He yawned and stretched, but when he looked outside, you were nowhere to be found. He plopped back into bed, and when he realized it, he had fallen asleep. He panicked and looked around for his phone, realizing it was a bit past 5 PM. He jumped off his bed and crossed to the women’s dorm room block, standing in front of your door. He waited there for a few seconds. Seconds turned into minutes. But he couldn’t bring himself to knock or open the door.
“Toge?” He heard a quiet voice coming from down the hallway. You stood there, wearing sweatpants and a large shirt. You looked distraught at his presence.
“Kelp” He greeted as equally quiet before taking out his phone.
[ Inumaki Toge: can we please talk ? ]
“Sure” You nodded and approached him, opening the door for your room “After you”
The two of you sat silently on the bed for more than a few minutes, not a word in place, basking under the golden beam of light the sun produced at that hour. That was until you decided to speak “Why do you hate me?” You mumbled.
His eyes widened as he shook his head and his hands, saying no incessantly without any words at all. He stammered, trying to contain his words and finding a way to explain as quickly as possible before the water brimming your eyes fell down your cheeks. His eyes landed on a small whiteboard and a neon green marker you had in the corner, and while standing up, he started to write. His handwriting was adorable, with perfectly round letters, balanced curves, and straight lines. ‘ I don’t hate you '
“Then why have you been ignoring me all day?! I don’t know what I did, if I did anything at all, and it hurts!” You exclaimed, standing up to face him. His heart skipped a beat in all the wrong ways. He hurt you?
‘ I’m scared ’ He wrote and you sighed, just like Megumi said. But still, you didn’t understand. Your mouth pushed further into a line, which then started to tremble. “Why?”
Once again, he wished to speak to you and say everything that went a hundred miles per hour, but couldn’t. He just couldn’t. Then, he realized Maki was right; he was an idiot. The biggest idiot in the whole wide world. It was a stupid reason to neglect you like that. To make you so concerned, you were softly crying.
‘ Do you like me? ’ He wrote instead of giving you a clear answer. Your expression turned sour as you laughed “I thought I made it clear enough. I like you. So, so much. It’s okay if you don’t”
“Okaka” He shook his head before he started writing. ‘ I’ve always liked you. I just thought you didn’t. Nobara said I was your partner, and I panicked, cuz I thought you didn’t want to be ’ You stayed still but cracked a broken smile. He erased the message quickly and wrote an ‘ I’m sorry :( ‘
“You’re very silly, Inumaki-kun” You laughed very lightly, a tear escaping your eye. “I was really scared to lose you… again” A few more tears squeezed out of your eyes. Parting from your friends was hard, but having someone like Toge, who always looked out for you, ripped away was hard. Really hard. You cursed the damn mountain you lived on for not having any signal. You didn’t know anything about anyone, might as well think they’re all dead.
He just sighed “Tuna mayo” He comforted you simply, letting the board down on your bed before carefully wiping your tears away with his thumb. After you gazed into each other’s eyes for a second, the message was clear; you were never going to lose him again. Toge pulled you in for a hug. I love you.

10 times, 1 occasion - Inumaki Toge
2. Gift
Tumblr media
A/N: aaaaa i woke up to a lot of notifs, i’m so glad everyone is liking it so far! thank u sm for reading! just a quick clarification, I’m setting the reader as non binary; i will be using mostly they/them pronouns and sometimes she/her but i will avoid to do so. happy reading!
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
“Megumi!” You called, waving to the underclass man. He offered you a tiny smile and a wave back. You let go of Toge’s hand to pull him into an embrace. “You’re taller! How much you’ve grown, my boy!” You’ve known him since forever, way before you met your fellow second years. And you always loved to pester him.
“I’m the same exact way since you last saw me” He deadpanned as you pinched his cheeks, his voice as plain as you remembered it to be. You only laughed and ruffled his hair, earning a groan.
“Where’s my hug?” You heard the voice of Gojo Satoru resonate through your ears for the first time in a while, and the most annoying phrase in existence was what he chose to say.
You turned to look at him, unimpressed, your expression matching Fushiguro’s. You were met with his usual cheeky smile and raised brows. He extended his arms and did ‘grabby’ hands as children did. Oh my. This man was annoying; and to think you even considered you missed him in the first place.
“Up your ass” You replied and moved his arms away from nearing your torso. He gasped dramatically and pouted like a wounded puppy. You only gave him a pat in his shoulder “Glad to see you’re...  Well, alive”
“Don’t speak to Gojo-sensei like that!” You heard a foreign voice, the same one you heard from a far moments ago. You turn to look at the boy with the pink hair with a raised eyebrow. Something in your head clicked, as did your tongue. You pointed at him.
“Sukuna’s vessel” You said. Even up in the mountains the hottest gossip was the kid that ate one of Sukuna’s fingers and actually withstanded to house the spirit inside him. It was the talk at the dinner table for weeks. Your sister was specifically interested in it one night, making her spill hot soup all over your lap when she was in charge of serving everyone that night.
“Itadori Yuuji” He corrected. You stared at him up and down and gave a tiny smile and a nod.
“And this is Nobara Kugisaki” Panda indicated to you, as you turned to face the ginger that looked at you with gleaming eyes. You waved shortly before introducing yourself to both.
One of their faces lit up “You got attacked by a special cursed spirit last year right?” The boy you recognized as Itadori spoke. Your face blanked and drained of any color as you tensed. The only remedy you found was to nod, your jaw clenched shut as Inumaki reached in to rub his hand through your shoulders. It relaxed you, but you didn’t remember him being this touchy before.
“Idiot! You don’t remind other people of their trauma!” Kugisaki hit him in the back of the head, noticing how your attitude shifted in seconds.
“But! It was awesome! You were the first first year ever to expand a complete domain!” Itadori protested, but he slumped realizing how far you were. Your eyes looked as if they were in another galaxy, your mind taking them far as you spaced out. You hated doing it, but it came rather involuntarily when you were avoiding getting hurt. “You’re so skilled”
“It wasn’t awesome. I—“ You sighed, and accepted the compliment, your mind returning back to the scene. “Thank you. I’ve been training since I saw my first curse” You gave a light thankful bow to him before turning to Toge “Walk me to my room?”
“Sake” He nodded, and led you ahead. Panda passed onto you the duffle bag and gave Inumaki the remaining handbag as you two walked in silence towards the second year building.
Your room was exactly as you left it, except for the made up bed. You remembered that morning clearly; you had always been an organized person, but when Maki pulled you out of your bed for what would be your last mission for a while, you didn’t have the time to fix it before leaving. As you looked around, you heard the sound of bags hitting the floor and the generic sound of typing on an electronic keyboard. Then your phone vibrated shortly on the pocket of your jacket. Taking it out, you read the new message.
[ Inumaki Toge: i laid the bed after you left. i knew you wouldn’t like to find it all messy after all this time ]
“Thank you” You spoke as a response. You stood in place, arms crossed and thought. Inumaki chuckled at your tongue poking out from the corner of your lips. “You’re right. I wouldn’t have liked to find the bed unmade after months” You smiled briefly at the warmth spreading through your chest, opened the windows and looked at your space.
On the bed, your new uniform was laid down, awaiting your return. You asked for both the option of wearing pants and a skirt, depending on the type of mission, you settled with what seemed more comfortable. Your closet was empty, as you didn’t know for how much you were going to be away, except for a few pieces you stole from Maki’s closet. Everything Toge gave you, you took with you, and you wouldn’t take things from Yuta without his permission. You looked at the picture on your nightstand of the five of you, taken by Gojo as you exited a training session. You laughed with Panda as Maki, seemingly angry elbowed you in the ribs, Inumaki and Yuta enjoyed the moment quietly, both smiling. Fitted on the inside edge of that picture frame was a strip of pictures you took at a carnival, in a picture booth with Inumaki before exorcising a curse haunting the house of mirrors. One of the most difficult, terrifying missions you could have ever taken, in your first year nevertheless. But getting some Italian food sponsored by Gojo’s wallet at 2 AM on a Saturday was a great way to end the night.
“Heh, look, you had spiky hair” You mentioned, taking the picture strip out of the frame and handing it over to the boy, who passed you another picture from your board by your desk in exchange. It was a selfie Gojo took with you and Maki, as he found you both sneaking in after getting piercings and tempura in Shibuya, taking Ijichi as hostage to drive you there. Remembering the event, you flipped down your septum, and checked for your five lobe piercings and your helix. Due to your family’s cursed technique, piercings were more than cliche, but on the ear, not on the nose. You opted for a septum for whenever you had to hide it. Your phone vibrated again.
[ Inumaki Toge: i always liked that piercing on u. u look very cool ]
[ Inumaki Toge: you’ve always looked cool :)) ]
“You flatter me too much, Toge, thank you” You turned away to hide the blush on your cheeks. Soon, you received a tap on your shoulder. You faced a flustered Inumaki with a dianty box in his hands. “Uh, you shouldn’t have, I—“ You were perplexed, trying to find the reason why he would give you a present.
“Bonito Flakes” He insisted, shoving the gift into your hands and pointing to the door with his head. He wanted to give you some space, to read the letter and to change back into your uniform.
“I’ll be quick, I promise” You gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek before he rushed to leave the room.
You prioritized changing into your uniform, deciding for the navy high rise wide pants with slits on their outer sides going from your mid-upper thigh to the bottom of the piece, made for better movement in battle. You buttoned up and tucked the navy jujutsu high jacket, of which you wore a shorter version, with a classic white collar from your button up peeking out from underneath. You scouted your bag for the tiny chain you hung from the eyelet of the collar, it was a family heirloom, a protection chain; if anyone touched it in battle, your cursed technique of choice would come into effect. Besides, it made you look more classy.
You fixed the puffy long sleeves, the form and the material more breathable, flexible and comfortable for you. You reached out to your closet and fitted the white patent ankle boots, almost tripping while doing so.
“I’m okay!” You shouted back, responding to a soft knock on the door. They were similar to Inumaki’s own shoes, but more stylish. In general, you were more stylish than him; or anyone else in both campuses. You finally fitted your black arm band, which had strapped in a box of needles, a rather thin rope and some thread.
You sat in your bed and took the box between your hands, circling around your fingertips. You removed the decorative bow and cut through the sealing tape with your fingernails. In between the folds of tissue paper, you found a golden ring. Your lost ring. It looked different, but you could recognize that oval shaped emerald anywhere. You touched it several times to check if it was real or not. And it was. You rushed to find an explanation to this, prying the letter open with your fingernails.
“Hi,
As I’m writing this, I’m not sure when you’re coming back. Or if you’re even doing so. Writing this letter gives me hope for your return, as so did getting you this welcome back gift. It’s the ring you took so much pride in owning. Oh, well, part of it. I remember how you got rushed to the infirmary, wailing, touching your damaged hand to see if you had your ring.  But you didn’t. I went back to the scene myself that same day, and the next, and the one after the other to find your missing jewel. When I found it, it looked terrible. It was dirty, bent, and the emerald had a crack in one of its corners. It took me some work, but I found someone that could restore it. It’s the original stone, and the original material but it had to be reshaped. I know you like signets, so I hope you can find appreciation in this one too.
You looked once more at the piece and let out a teary chuckle. You had suffered so much the loss of that ring. It was a present from your grandmother, now deceased. You hated yourself incessantly for losing it. But now, it was back in your grip. You slipped it into your ring finger and before continuing your lecture, you fanned your under eyes to avoid ruining the hint of makeup you currently wore.
If you’re reading this, I am so glad you’re back. I missed you, so so much. I’m glad to see you in good health. And I’m sorry everything happened the way it did. You didn’t do anything wrong. I know how you feel. Please trust me. Thank you once more for allowing me to speak to you through written words. You’re the only one I want to write to, anyways. I don’t have the patience for anyone else. Welcome back, cookie.
I love you.
Yours, Toge”

3. Group Battle (I)
Tumblr media
A/N: this is a two-parter! I’m covering two episodes here, so they will be divided respectively.
Previous Chapter | Next Part
“Ah, they’re such a hassle, hang in there, me” Momo sighed from the sky. The target was easy. You threw a ball of cursed energy to Momo’s face, which she avoided easily. You laughed at your opponent’s ingenuity, placing a thin needle in your palm to then close your hand.
“Acupuncture needle: Mobility detainment” You whispered into your hand, opening your grasp to watch the needle light in blue cursed energy, and notice as Momo’s joints did the same. She gasped and froze, unable to move, just as Megumi summoned Nue to strike her down from the heights, throwing her down to a tree.
Needle and thread was an innate cursed technique passed down from your family generation through generation. If the women didn’t turn into sorcerers, they turned into seamstresses. Usually, it was used combined with thread, or to move using cursed energy and sound, like whistling. You were the first in your lineage to use a cursed technique that includes both shaping and duplication and management of mass like acupuncture was. The only time you could achieve domain expansion was on the edge of dying, and it looked like a cave full of stalagmite, which closed in as time passed. For curses, it was instant exorcism and for humans, it was a slow, piercing death.
After the job was done, you ran back to your position outside of the forest. Bullets ricochet on your surroundings; you knew Mai Zen’in was trying to knock you off, unable to do so by the speed you ran. You were recognized by your companions as a fast runner, an agile and flexible fighter with the speed of light is a close match to your reflexes. And that was before the incident, were back at your home you trained intensely to heal yourself faster.
“Wow! Slow down!” Panda called to you as you almost zoomed past them. You stopped abruptly and jogged back with an apologetic smile.
“Sorry, Mai was after me” You exhaled deeply, pressing your hands into your knees and bending down to breathe a little. As you raised your head up to recompose yourself, the rest  “I guess she missed”
“Okaka” Inumaki shook his head and swiped the running blood from a thin gash, a bullet that grazed you left. You pulled your lips in from the surprise, touching the affected area. It was definitely going to bruise later.
“They were all moving in the same direction towards Yuuji,” Kigusaki informed the three of you.
You pondered until the answer was clear “They’re trying to kill him, probably by the prune’s orders” Couldn’t understand why they would actually do it, but you could understand their reasoning, as you’ve heard all possible arguments on why anyone would want Itadori gone.
Nobara frowned “I don’t understand why would anyone want to kill Itadori… and on someone else’s orders nevertheless... “
“You two have been with him for a while now, and the rest of us just learned how good of a person he might be. To them, he’s just another curse who needs exorcising.” Panda explained “Nobara and I will go check on Yuuji. You two stay out on the lookout for the cursed spirit and stay alert for any signal of back up”
“Mustard leaf!” Toge crossed his arms in an X. You looked at him with half a smile, understanding his feelings. He looked back at you and tilted his head briefly, the two of you solely communicating with your eyes.
“I know you’re both concerned about Itadori too, but we will handle it.” And with that, Panda jogged straight into the forest.
“Cookie” Toge called, brows furrowed with concern. As it was said and done, the cut on your cheek was bruising. The only thing he safely said aside from onigiri ingredients was a simple “cookie”. Nothing more, nothing less. Everyone who knew him was aware that it was his way of calling out for you. Whether it was a greeting, a remark, an interrogation, or a lament, it was you. Just for you.
You shook your head. “I’m okay, don’t worry about it” You offered your hand to him. “Let’s go” Toge looked at it with a certain fondness, even though it was scarred, recognizing the ring. He let out a hum and held your hand tightly. Before you two took off running in your own direction, he rubbed his thumb against your hand.
After a while of scouting through the forest, Megumi’s divine dog appeared, holding Mechamaru’s arm with his phone in it. “Ahh! Good boy! You’re such a good boy! Yes, you are, yes you are!” You squealed, reaching out to grab the mechanic arm and pass it to Toge. He chuckled lightly as you pulled away, giving you a warning look. You nodded, and the blue aura physically engulfed your ears. He unlocked the phone and searched through the contacts.
“Sleep,” Inumaki said, looking away from you as you covered your ears and protected your mind with cursed energy. He stayed on the phone for a minute or so, just to confirm Miwa was asleep. When he did, he threw away Mechamaru’s arm. You stayed with your mouth in a straight line, concentrated on keeping your mind protected. Your arm reached out to pet Megumi’s divine dog, trying not to laugh to not disturb your concentration. Toge looked at you with a glimmer in his eyes as you ruffled its fur. You took a step back as Inumaki unleashed it.
Something hit you in the gut as a purple smog covered your surroundings for a second; the cursed energy was coming from behind you, it was strong and evident, the spirit’s aura was dreadful. By default, the two of you were set on high alert, backs facing each other.
“You think this is it?” You looked around, reaching for your armband. For the first time in a while, you were nervous. You were promised a second grade, but the amount of cursed energy was too high and too strong for it to be a lower grade.
“Kelp” Inumaki held the zipper to the cover-up around his lower half, looking around as you did. The two of you stayed in position as large thudding steps rumbled through the area of the forest. You sucked in your breath for the surprise as Toge gasped lightly, eyes wide, but to your surprise, the semi-first grade curse’s head fell off, sliced, right in front of you. You both stayed stiff, your raised hand trembled lightly. This wasn’t good. Then your gut squeezes harder. And that’s when you saw it.
The curse said something you couldn’t understand as you both got in a position to defend yourselves. Inumaki lowered his zipper and said “Salmon, caviar, roe.” You felt something creeping up on you, a thick branch trying to strangle you. The needle in your hand grew in size with flaming cursed energy to resemble a sword, and you slashed them away from you and Toge easily.
Soon, the branches started multiplying and growing in size “Run!” Toge commanded, and you gladly did so, catching with the corner of your eye you saw thick branches extending, trying to snatch any of you two. Toge was fast, but you were faster. You two jumped and ran from one ledge to another, soon landing on the roof of one of the old buildings, encountering Fushiguro and Kamo as a giant structure similar to a tree broke through.
“What is this?” Kamo looked at the wave made of roots heading directly towards them. As you rounded the corner, they stood there staring at you in shock. ‘Idiots!’ You thought as the wave was about to crush them into a pulp.
“Run away!” Inumaki called for them. They looked up at the nature-like creation with wide eyes and did as commanded, soon joining the pair of you. Your stomach was squeezed tight. You were a bit afraid.
“Run faster!” Toge called out to you specifically, and so you did. All that ran through his mind was to protect you. Insistently, he looked back at you, not wanting to see you ever again in the state you were a few months ago. He gave you a concerned look that pulled you together; you’ve been through worse. There’s nothing you couldn’t survive at this point in time. Not only that, but you were more skilled now than the night of the primary school incident. This was no time to doubt yourself and your abilities.

0. Picnic
Previous Chapter
It was a hot summer afternoon, August dawning upon the Jujutsu Academy, bringing hot temperatures. By this time, you and Toge had been dating for almost 3 months; probably the best months of your life so far. They were full of uncomfortable missions, of course, but the learning experience was far greater than any discomfort or pain.
Missions alone were in fact the most dangerous, but sometimes the ones you craved the most for what you did afterwards: sit down with a milkshake somewhere anyone couldn’t bother you. You sat there, sometimes injured, sometimes completely relaxed, staring into the distance. Your favorite spot was a park with a tiny forest and at the outer edge of the forest there was a giant tree, perfect for one to sit down and lay against the trunk.
So on your free day, you decided to go out on a picnic date, just the two of you. You had a basket with all the food as Toge laid down the red gingham blanket. The sun was intense, but the branches and leaves from the tree shielded you. You fanned yourself with the traditional fan you carried before sitting down next to Inumaki, who was sitting with his legs crossed. Ironically enough, he had made you some onigiri, probably the best one you’ve ever tried and your delighted expression while eating his food made his heart flourish. You cooked some crispy rice with tuna mayo and avocado, which you both enjoyed with some sodas.
As the day progresses, it just became warmer. As you read out to him the Haikyuu! manga and showed him the images, you noticed he was flustered and his breathing had picked up significantly. You raised your head from his lap and searched your bag for your water bottle and reached for your fan that was thrown around to end up in the farther corner of the blanket, close to your shoes. You lowered the collar of his face to leave it completely exposed, noticing how he was sweaty. You fanned him as he drank water. Almost when the bottle was half way over, he suddenly stopped.
He opened his mouth to say something, but kept it gaped, opening it and closing it as he thought over if he really needed to speak. Gathering up the courage and mentally preparing for a possible outcome, he spoke. “Thank you, I love you”
A/N: aaaaand that’s a wrap! thank you so much everyone for reading this late night impulse with this short boy! i will probably do a college au soon with either megumi or gojo, we’ll see. in the meantime, i’ll be around here and on my main blog @sapphic-tomlinson in case anyone wants to pop on by as i whip out some new content! thank you for all the notes and the love, it made my days and weeks! xx -gigi

7. Festivities

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
A/N: hi hi! soo a few things: I would like to warn that this chapter shows a more feminine side of the reader so if anyone is uncomfy,, you've been warned. this chapter is just friendship and ships (there's nobara x maki and yuuji x megumi if you squint a bit) and it's 3.0k words (new record!!!!!) so buckle up and enjoy! also, next chapter is my favorite so far so go read it as soon as you're done with this.
Toge persisted you to rest for the past three days, as you were indicated. He sat by your bedside so you wouldn’t go anywhere, always keeping your injured ankle raised and your head comfortable, helping you to change bandages from time to time. Even then, you persisted to go as normal and continue with your duties.
“So hot…” Maki complained from your green couch, her glasses set aside as she covered her eyes from the sun with her forearm.
“I think you should stop hugging Kugisaki, then” Megumi suggested, the redhead laying on top of her, but he just received a death glare.
“Shake” Toge agreed with Maki, laying on top of Panda, who was snoring loudly. You, on the other hand, were on top of Yuuji’s shoulders, working on your damaged air conditioner.
“Gimme the flat screwdriver, ‘Gumi” You extended your hand, the other one holding one of the filters of the AC.
Your air conditioning system broke down once a year, and you knew it was because of the dirty filters. For some reason, everyone decided to hang out in your room, so extra help was usually given out to you. Maki and Nobara cleaned the filters, Panda and Toge first assisted you and then the help shifted to Megumi and Itadori. The last one was more than glad to have a pair of thighs wrapped around his neck, and his smile displayed so as Inumaki and Megumi both stared him down to oblivion. With the screwdriver now in your hand, you pressed each filter well to its original place. You closed the lid and Yuuji plopped you down on your bed, making you laugh.
You reached in to click on the air conditioner, it turned on normally and after a few minutes, it wasn’t leaking water anymore. “It’s fixed” You heard a collective sigh you let out yourself, feeling the cold air fill the room.
Itadori laid down on the floor by your mini-fridge and Megumi sat at the edge of your bed, next to your feet. You were all so overwhelmed by the heat, no one really wanted to speak, just take in the fake rise in temperature to calm down their sweating and corporal heat.
Just as you were falling into pure, calm bliss, you heard bass thumping from down the hall. You opened your eyes and raised your head towards the door, at the same time everyone else did, confused. Queue in Gojo with a boombox from the 90s, playing ‘Congratulations’ by Post Malone. There was now a collective groan in annoyance as he walked in and faced the bunch of sweaty teens.
“Good afternoon my amazing students!” There was another collective groan in response. No one didn’t even bother raising their heads once more to look at him, and Megumi just turned his face away slightly. Everyone was grumpy or simply not in the mood “I am here to give out great news! Everyone who has tried for first-grade sorcerer has been officially promoted! Congratulations!”
Suddenly, the aura of the room shifted. Everyone was upright, in a mix of shock and happiness. Nobara started screaming out in happiness with Maki, while you, Megumi, Gojo, and Itadori started jumping on your bed in a circle, holding hands. Inumaki was hugging Panda.
“Let’s throw a party! A fancy one!” Itadori suggested, and everyone cheered. Gojo seemed very fond of the idea, as he laughed.
“Dress code is suit and tie, I’ll see you all in the common dining room at 8! Now if you excuse me, I have a party to plan!” Gojo jumped out of the bed, picked up his speaker, and sprinted out of the room. You came down from your bed and threw yourself into Toge’s arms, who pulled you closer in by your waist. You laughed and nuzzled into his neck happily; he was smiling proudly.
“Oh my god! We need to go shopping!” Nobara realized, grabbing Maki’s wrist and snatching you away from Inumaki to head out the door.
“Wait, I need my wallet!” You screamed, but Toge ran after you to give you the tote bag you carried for trips outside the school. You blew him a kiss as he waved you goodbye.
“I’m dressed so inappropriately to go out” Maki groaned as Nobara rushed you on.
“Don’t worry, I’ll hold your hand so no one flirts with you” Nobara beamed at her and then wink, making Maki fluster. You laughed and elbowed her in the ribs, wiggling your eyebrows.
“I can’t believe I'm going to have to third wheel today!” You laughed, watching as both women turned crimson.
Nobara insisted on shopping in the Harajuku district and looking at her eyes gleaming while passing different stores was like watching a kid in a candy store. Surprisingly, she was the pickiest one out of the three. Maki found her outfit first, a black blazer and pants combo with a black mesh button-up that had Nobara drooling. You found a black silk slip dress that reached down your calf, a slit on one of the legs with a loose neckline that reached down your collarbones. Nobara found a black dress that reached a bit down to her knees, it was strapless with a see-through long sleeve with roses. She laughed at the irony of it, considering the poison she was infected with last week manifested in roses on her skin. After that, you went to grab a bite, the three of you talking about everything, anything and nothing at the same time. You noticed the flirtatious remarks between your companions, happy that both had decided to move their attraction to flirting, rather than just staring at each other all the time. You returned to Jujutsu High around 3 PM, more exhausted than ever, you threw your bag to a corner, kicked off your sneakers, and threw yourself on the bed face down, falling asleep in that same starfish position.
“Aw, she’s asleep” You heard a voice comment. You thought it was only a dream and continued on napping. “Let’s just let her rest”
“Are you crazy? They promised to do our makeup! That’s three people already!” Another hushed voice chimed in.
“Tuna mayo” A third voice hummed. You were already back fast asleep as someone tried to shake you awake gently, only to fail miserably.
Toge sighed and squatted down, his face to level yours. Even with your mouth ajar, your duvet darkening from your saliva, and your slightly loud breathing, he loved how you looked so serene that what he was about to do next he found very cruel.
Delicately, he moved your hair away from your ear, swooping it to the other side of your face. Right there, he was taken away by your sleeping beauty; purples, oranges, and blues chiming into light your face as the sun went down. He sighed, half-smiling “Wake up”
He watched as your eyes popped open and you sat up, rigid. “What day is it?” You wondered, scratching your head and yawning, disoriented after the sudden surge of energy running through your body. Toge sat down by your side and placed his hand on your bare waist. You noticed lately he was even more touchy than usual.
“What day is it?” Nobara mocked you, a vein in her forehead palpitating. “You need to do our makeup! Hurry! You haven’t even showered!” She snatched you away from Toge and pushed you inside your bathroom. You heard a light ‘Tsk!’ outside from Inumaki, who has proven time to time really appreciate you being snatched away from him. “And you! Get out!” Kugisaki ushered him out of the room, slamming the door in his face.
“A little harsh, huh?” Maki said, turning to Nobara, who just rolled her eyes.
“I don’t care” She shrugged before taking out her hair straightener and a heat protector. You chuckled from inside the bathroom before taking your phone out of your pocket and connecting it to the Bluetooth speaker on the wall next to the bathroom mirror. You shuffled the playlist Toge made you a while ago and turned on the faucet.
“I hope you’re not going on a world tour right now! We don’t have time to listen to you all the way to your fiftieth stop in London!” You heard Nobara knock and shout at you from the other side of the door.
You rolled your eyes “Maki, keep your girl in check!” You shouted back before stripping and stepping into the shower. You were in the middle of your third song, washing the suds away from your body and giving your rendition of “Cognac Queen” by Megan Thee Stallion when Nobara opened the door and dragged you out of the shower. It became a struggle, and you were only able to grab the pink fluffy robe that hung on your door.
You fixed Maki’s hair by pulling it half up with a small claw clip, leaving her bangs out. Then you applied the lightest layer of makeup, with the dark eyeliner she requested. Nobara, on the other hand, asked for a full face with a red lip. On the other hand, you went for a light look, with a striking eye and a glossy lip. Then, the three of you rushed to get changed as you realized it was almost ten minutes before 8. As you exited the dorm, you wrapped a white ballerina-style cardigan, taking one last look at yourself at the entrance mirror before Nobara dragged you out of there. The three of you walked to the common room carefully, the door opened slightly.
You heard a couple whistles as you entered the room, you humored the boys, Nobara looked slightly mad while Maki ignored them. You realized that for the occasion Toge wasn’t wearing anything that covered his mouth, and made it evident it was a bit ajar watching you arrive. You said hello to the staff, greeting Nanami happily, who seemed pleased with your recovery and being slightly confused at why Utahime was there. You then headed over to greet your classmates, ending up with Toge.
“You look very handsome” You chuckled, and reached in to fix the strands of hair that fell on his forehead. He was wearing a sage green shirt, black trousers, and thin black suspenders. He shrugged a little and blushed as you touched him, leaning slightly into your touch.
“Shake” He nodded, and held your hand briefly, accepting the compliment. You blushed and looked down before taking your hand away from his face, afraid you were overstepping.
The party was light, everyone chatted and conversed lightly. Itadori seemed very busy on his phone, while Megumi spent all his energy trying to grab his attention. Yuuji called out for you, making you pull away from your conversation with Toge and Panda, who looked dashing in a yellow bow tie. He also called out for Panda. “I need your help,” He said nervously “I saw a speaker with lights in your room, can you go bring it here? Also, please wait at the entrance for someone. Panda, I need you as a distraction”
You excused yourself and left swiftly, fitting your cardigan once more. You walked the way up to your room, taking the squared-shaped, medium-sized speaker with half spheres on top, grabbing the aux cord just in case. Holding the speaker by its handle, you followed the trail to the entrance quietly.
“What is this?” You frowned upon seeing the students of the Kyoto sister school facing you. You raised your brows and Mai and Momo narrowed their eyes back to you, but the rest didn’t. Your eyes fell into the liquor store bags Todo held in his hands, then it all made sense. A smirk crept onto your face as Todo watched your change of expression and laughed. A party with the Kyoto students didn’t seem half as bad, and hey, maybe the stone-cold Soju can solve things out between everyone there.
Soon, you heard a couple of explosions and fireworks and some commotion coming from the common room. “Let’s go” You picked up the skirt of your dress a little to run a little easier, the rest following after you. You noticed everyone outside watching an impromptu firework show as you sneaked in the Kyoto students to the now dark room. Slowly, the rest of the Tokyo students sneaked back to the common room, Itadori locking the door in.
“Okay Panda, that was fun, but can we— huh?!” Gojo realized the locked doors and drawn windows. He tried to force the door open but it was closed shut.
“Oh finally. Can we go to a bar now?” Shoko sighed “Let them be Satoru, they’re in the blink of death every day, let them party”
“Can we all pretend they didn’t do that and we were here all the time chaperoning?” Gojo gave in easily, changing his usual blindfold to black, round sunglasses. Everyone made a noise in agreement and the staff left, feeling the bass pumping under their feet, the surges of different colored lights leaking out of the shut windows.
At first, the party was tense. Everyone was just staring at the other from across the room. You were busy in the background trying to plug in your phone and sync it to the speaker’s Bluetooth. Then, Todo gave a lengthy speech about sorority and brotherhood, and how you should all solve your differences so you could… get drunk and nasty together. In fact, it didn’t take long for the party to lighten up and turn into a club scene. By the third round of shots, mostly everyone was hot and bothered, all the tables moved aside to create a makeshift dance floor. Surprisingly, Panda was an incredible bartender, and he was out to kill; his drinks were packed with alcohol, but fruity and candied flavors hid it all and made it even more addicting. By your third drink, you ripped open the seam of the dress, creating another slit for you to move better.
You, Nobara, and the Zen’in twins were incredible dancers, but you didn’t really expect it from Itadori. He had all the spice down in his hips and the way he could shake his ass like his name was Cardi B. He joined in after his third shot with the song ‘Up’
“Broke boys don’t deserve no pussy!” Todo shouted to the song for the rest to respond.
“I know that’s right!” Everyone answered, except for Toge, before you continued dancing. Now more than ever you felt the euphoria of having money. First-grade sorcerers gave you a considerable amount of money, even if you were just a student.
“Yuuji!” Your mouth dropped to the floor, looking at him, before cheering him on along with the others. By the makeshift bar, a flustered Megumi joined by a sober Inumaki watched him dance, not knowing what he should do in that situation.
Then, as if you were reading his mind, you showed him what he should be doing; standing behind him and grabbing his hips. Soon as Nobara did the same with you, followed by Maki, followed by Mai, followed by Todo, making a train. On the other corner, there was some smoke coming up. You never thought you could have this much fun with people.
Another song started playing “It’s my homegirl, we got the same tattoos!” Itadori pulled you close to him while Todo recorded, and you laughed.
“Don’t accuse me of shit if you ain’t got proof!” You sang along, pointing to the camera, following along.
“What if we got matching tattoos?” Itadori turned to you, and you both frowned to think it hard.
“I think that’s enough” Megumi pulled your drink away from your hand.
“‘Gumi, relax. Go take a shot or a hit from Kamo in the corner, it’s a party! C’mon!” You pulled him to the dance floor, both him and Yuuji as you both threw it back on him to the song. This time, Megumi caught clues from earlier and shyly placed his hands on Itadori’s hips. You stopped and nodded, patting him on the back and walking away, a bit clumsily.
“Do we have any more water left?” You asked Panda, feeling your throat and eyes dry from the intoxicating substances. Panda nodded happily and gave you some water. You had reached your limit and decided it was time to sweat off the drinks and hydrate yourself.
“Oh my bad, that’s vodka,” He said as your mouth went into a thin line as you recognized the strong taste and scent. Inumaki snickered “Here”
“Tell me it’s not vinegar this time” You joked, taking a loud sniff of the liquid, and it was in fact, water. You took a large gulp, as you heard thunder followed by the soft pitter-patter of the rain. “Oh, it’s raining” You turned to Inumaki, who looked stunned at your drunken beauty. Your eyeliner was smudged, and so was your lipstick. There was some hair sticking to the nape of your neck due to the sweat. He could swear he saw some drops running down the small of your back. He gulped and looked away.
“You’ve been here all night, love; c’mon, let’s dance” You set your cup down and took Toge’s hand, pulling him out of his seat. The only reason this party was going along all well was that alcohol made you more straightforward, which made you all sultry towards your evident crush.
You noticed he was paler than usual “What’s wrong? Do I make you nervous?” You whispered in his ear, your hand slowly climbing from his hand all the way up to his neck, where you caressed the area. You never could have known alcohol made you that bold, and such a, well, maneater. At his lack of an answer, you just chuckled and took his hand, guiding him elsewhere.
Everyone at the dance floor greeted him more than enthusiastically, and suddenly, every insecurity Toge was holding deep inside of him throughout the whole party had disappeared. He blinked several times as you smiled at him as radiant as ever. “Let’s dance!” He nodded and smiled back. I love you.
