Children of fire – that’s what the Mackay are called and named after. For there are legends  about their ancestors  - founding members of the covens- being entangeled with dragons. When the coven first settled on the Isle of Skye it was already occupied by a small group of dragons. First both kind stayed out of each others way until the humans came and hunted both  - witches and dragons.  In order to survive they protected each other.  Only spells and fire, until one decided to take it further.  Changing the dragons appereance  to help them to blend in, not forcing them to hid in the shadows. Now in human form, bound to the coven, they lived among them. With their fire still inside of them they still could control the flames. The legends tell the stories about how dragon mated with witches. Creating the most powerful fire witches ever documented. Clutches of eggs instead of babies being born. Firebreaths instead of the first scream. And most of all – legends about the promise of the dragonborn.
