funny phenomenon that i've noticed from other people creating boom fanworks is that often times shadow is inexplicably nice in them. like no kidding a lot of times i look at something and for some reason he's just on good (or at least decent) terms with team sonic with no explanation given as to why that is. this isn't really a dig at anyone because i know and understand why this happens but personally i massively prefer it when boom!shadow stays mean it's just objectively funnier that way. like sure give him character development give him depth but if he doesn't retain at least some of that over the top edginess and deeply unpleasant personality then what's the point

I saw god in their triple twist it was so fast and pretty I swear. She popped the sbs3S into a single. Their combo was clean. She fell on the throw 3Lz but that’s still a pretty difficult throw jump. She touched down on the throw 3Lo but she didn’t fall. They’re just such a clear leader in this field here at Skate America, the difference in the quality is stunning. They’re also skating to a song Zhenya Medvedeva used a few seasons ago and I love it.

you know, it's been a few days since i've made this post, and some of you (not most) are staying determined in defending/justifying/giving the benefit of the doubt to keanu for that photo with netanyahu, whether it's because "it was a decade ago," "him being civil to someone he ran into at a party one time doesn't mean anything," "he's probably just silent because his pr managers won't allow him to speak up," etc. i've made my thoughts on the matter quite clear by directly responding to these people, but at this point, i'm tired of both seeing them in my notes and repeating myself, so take this as my final word on the issue.

i can't help it if you don't think the photo with netanyahu is damning, and i'm done engaging with everyone going out of their way to tell me that. i obviously disagree, especially after finding out that 1. the host of the party, arnon milchan, is a former israeli spy who has a history of developing israel's nuclear program and promoting apartheid in south africa (information that had broken out a few months prior to the party and thus would've been fresh news around the time keanu chose to attend) and 2. keanu has been caught hanging around at least two other weirdos, but if you don't find any of that to be cause for reasonable concern, then there really is nothing else i can say afaik.

with all that said, i'm beginning to realize how strange it is that these people's first instinct when seeing this post is to start debating about keanu's political stances without ever acknowledging any of the other bullet points. you guys realize that this isn't just about him, right? i know tumblr reading comprehension is known for being piss-poor, but like… you realize that i was trying to make a point of how there are MULTIPLE terrible things that have broken out about the people and company involved in the sonic movies, right? and yet, a lot of the people leaping to speak on keanu's behalf in my notes are completely ignoring the parts where i bring up paramount, pally, etc. all in favor of zeroing in on the singular point about keanu and making bad faith assumptions about me for holding him accountable. really makes one wonder where your priorities lie if, in a post that talks about so many other things, me accusing an a-list celebrity with, according to google, a net worth of almost $400 million is where you draw the line and apparently the only thing worth your acknowledgment.

ultimately, what i'm trying to say is that the intention of this post was just to gather up everything that i had been hearing for the past several months and put it all together in one place. there were a bunch of people who didn't know about at least one of the bullet points before seeing this post, and i'm glad that i could help inform them, that was what i was hoping to do! but as for the keanu thing, i've said pretty much all i can say for now, and i don't want to derail the original post even more than i may have already. unless something new comes up, i'm done talking about him.

you know at this point this is far from the main issue but given the scu's track record i highly doubt they would even bother portraying maria's death in a faithful manner. or at the very least they wouldn't do it without pulling a "oh but that was just a one-time little oopsy from the military, we're not actually bad guys!"

boom shadow would fall for those email chains that say you have to forward them to 15 other people or get murdered in his sleep. he doesn't bother forwarding because he doesn't know 15 other people so he stands by his cave all night with his eyes peeled open ready to have a fight to the death with his would be attacker. sonic shows up for "moral support" at one point but truthfully he just can't wait to go back to the others so they can talk about it and point and laugh together

last thing for now but my boom!shadow always defaults to calling team sonic fools whenever he addresses them as a group. the main purpose of the epithet is obviously to insult them but also early on it's to masquerade the fact that sonic's the only one whose name he's bothered to learn. over time though it becomes less demeaning and more just like his casual nickname for them

say what you will about sonic boom but the one hill i'll die on is that a lot of the character redesigns go hard

silver meets sonic and chases him through the entire village in an attempt to off him but they both end up running quite literally into shadow, causing him to drop the fresh sprinkled donut he was about to eat. they both proceed to run away as shadow gives chase and he doesn't calm down until sonic tells him mid beating that he'll buy another donut for him. the 3 of them chill at the donut shop and that's how the boom version of 06 kicks off in my head

at least one other person has said this but i think people who are super shocked that mike pollock turned out be a piece of shit need the gentle but firm reminder that, unless you somehow know him personally and hang with him on a regular basis, he (and this applies to roger, colleen, travis, cindy, kirk, and every other voice actor that you can think of) is NOT your friend and has never been. yes, i get it, he's been playing eggman for over 20 years, and a lot of fans grew up with him, but at the end of the day... he's a stranger. he's always been a stranger. and him being around as eggman for as long as this generation has been alive does nothing to change that.

i'm not saying that people shouldn't express their outrage at the shit he's been spewing - i'd look like the biggest hypocritical idiot alive if i did - because they absolutely should. i just think people could spare themselves a lot of shock to their systems if they stopped assuming that someone's a good person just because they think they're talented, they have nostalgia for them, etc. not saying that you should automatically assume them to be terrible either, just that you should always remind yourself that you really don't know someone beyond what they want the public to see.

idk how to say this in a way that doesn't sound like i'm wagging my finger at all the people calling for sega to fire and replace mike (i swear i'm not, i think your morals are in the right place) but like… yes to be cynical but i really wouldn't expect them to do anything if i were you. much like how mike isn't your friend, neither is the massive video game company worth billions. i can GUARANTEE you that they don't care about what any of their cast members say/do on social media unless it starts impacting them financially, and quite frankly, i'm pretty certain that firing mike pollock, widely beloved voice actor of doctor eggman for 20+ years, would create a much more significant backlash from sonic fans regardless of the reasoning behind it. and yes that sucks, i hate it, and ideally mike should face some real tangible consequences for it, but sadly our society hasn't evolved to that point yet
