Character headcanons ask thingy:

sexuality headcanon: pansexual, moves between polyamory and monogamy as he pleases (haurchefant is full of love and wants to share it)

otp: haurchefant/wol, like. yloise, sure, but any other wol. if it's not my wol, it'll be another.

brotp: FRANCEL. Francel and Haurchefant are both kind of banished to the Central Highlands (I have my reasons for believing that only the embarrassing kids of the High Houses get stuck with Central Highlands positions), and everything about that short story breaks my heart. It drives me absolutely wild to think how Haurchefant must be Panicking about the accusations of heresy leveled at Francel and here's WOL, who has no attachments to anything in Coerthas, who has the barest hope of a reason to be here, has decided to help clear Francel's name. Ughhh oh my god okay. When Aurelle mentioned that she couldn't imagine what Francel was going through after Haurchefant's death MY HEART SUNK like oh my god i forgot about francel. I think he's going to be in the HW patches a bit more (i am praying) because I love Francel please let him come back to Ishgard and be around his family and not so isolated.

first headcanon that pops into my head: Ok so I have A LOT OF THESE (it's probably like a 6th of the googledoc) but one that's fairly succinct is you know how the Game keeps Haurchefant stuck at his desk all the time? I don't think that's accurate at all. Particularly after the big ARR banquet cutscene. Like he knows that something spectacularly dramatic went down in Ul'dah and that the Scions are in danger and I'm sure people in Camp Dragonhead would be on the lookout for Cid's airship and so when Alphinaud and the WOL are walking up to Camp Dragonhead, Haurchefant definitely strides down the hill to greet them (potentially with a chocobo in case one of them is injured) (indulgent cringe time: yloise wore the worst fucking shoes possible to the banquet and has just abandoned them because you can't run in strappy heels through a watercourse, so haurchefant has to carry her up to camp to get medical attention)

one way in which I relate to this character: I don't know if I RELATE exactly, but I am so so fond of the idea that Haurchefant chooses to be kind again and again and again. He could still be angry and bitter but he knows that won't change what's wrong with the world and I love him for that. (also that headcanon about him avoiding paperwork and letting it pile up RELATABLE)
