Thought of the day: Skyrim’s theonyms
In a world where Viking-y names like Freja and Torsten don’t make sense, there should be Nordic theonyms derived from the Nordic pantheon. Down with Torbjorn (lit. “Thor-bear”) Shatter-Shield, long live Shorbjorn. Some ideas (which probably fall afoul of old Scandinavian naming conventions, but this is about the aesthetic™, not the accuracy) follow:
Shor
F: Shorna, Shora, Sorna, Shornja, Sorveig
M: Shorsten, Shornen, Sormund, Shorald, Alshor, Vorshor
Kyne
F: Kynja, Kynna, Kynbet, Kynde, Svakyne
M: Kynbjorn, Kynar, Kynfoss, Kynolf
Tsun
F: Tsuna, Tsunikka, Tsuvi, Tsuki, Tsunfridh
M: Tsunvald, Tsunik, Tsunulf, Vitsun (corrupted to Vistun)
Ysmir
F: Ysmet, Ysmi, Yssra, Ysmilda
M: Ysbjorn, Ysmar, Ysmund
