heyyy so request for chad x reader!! basically they’re childhood best friends and they both like each other but are too afraid to say anything yada yada and they’re at the halloween party we saw in the movie and the reader is getting hit on by a bunch of guys and chad goes all protective mode and tries to get rid of them and like at the end the reader doesn’t understand why he cares so much and they have a cute little confession scene awww! sorry if that’s too much detail idk how much to put but you can totally stray from this if you have a different idea!!

SUMMARY: You and Chad have huge crushes on each other but you don’t think the other feels the same. While you’re both at the Halloween party you get hit on and Chad gets a little jealous and that leads to a confession from both of you 😚

There was no way you were going to this Halloween frat party but Anika wouldn’t leave you alone until you did.

“Cmon Y/N it’ll be funnn!”

“Yeah a bunch of sweaty, drunk, rude teenagers seems like a blast!” you said with your voice laced in sarcasm.

She rolled her eyes playfully “Pleaseee you don’t have to stay the whole time! Plus Chad will be thereee” she said with a wink. You thought it over for a minute.

You had liked Chad ever since you guys were in elementary school but never thought he had been interested. Maybe you could impress him? Unlikely. It felt like he got every girl that looked his way. You were pretty sure his new interest was Tara.

After thinking about it you rolled your eyes “Forget it Anika, I don’t even have a costume.”

“C’mon I’ll help you! We have some time.” She smiled at you and walked out of the living room.

You followed her into her room and she wasted no time rummaging through her closet as you sat on the bed. A comfortable silence was upon both of you but you decided to break it. “So who else is going besides Chad?”

“Umm like almost everyone Tara, Mindy, I mean even Ethan’s going. Quinn’s staying home and I think Sam’s at a therapist appointment. Not that she’d be going anyways.”

You hummed in agreement “Does Sam even know Tara’s going?”

“No she’ll probably flip.” You raised your eyebrows at that knowing if Sam caught her there all hell would probably break loose. Anika had finished looking for a costume and she ran up excitedly and sat next to you.

“Okay now hear me out-“

“Oh god”

“no! nono don’t ‘oh god’ me, it’s cute I promise!” She put the clothes in your lap. You can go as a like sexier version of Freddy Krueger!”

“Ooo my life goal” you said with a sarcastic smile and she playfully hit your shoulder as you laughed.

“See this is a prime example of why you need to get out more, you’re so sassy” she puts a hand on her heart pretending to be hurt and you scoff. “Anika this will not look good on me.”

“Yes it will! It’s only a red and green sweater with shorts, then I’ll get you the little hat thing he wears and some gloves! Plus I’ll do your makeup!” You nodded and got dressed.

After she got you ready you were both on your way to the party since everyone else had already gotten there. As you walked in you looked at Anika with an unsure look and she tried giving you a reassuring smile while walking you over to a couch where Mindy was sitting.

“Heyy, you guys made it!”

“Uh huh it only took me like 30 minutes to convince them to come” Anika said rolling her eyes and looking at you.

“Yeah? What changed your mind, Y/N?” Mindy asked you but before you could say anything Anika interrupted you. “Chaaad” and her and Mindy start making kissy noises.

“You guys are so immature!” You say trying to hide the smile forming on your face.

“Well, your costume looks good. Chad is talking to Ethan somewhere over there” Mindy says as she point in a direction near a corner. You nod before walking over there.

You don’t know why you were nervous, Chad was your best friend. You were only going to talk to him that was it. But maybe you should get a drink first you thought as you made your way towards the kitchen.

You grabbed a cup and started pouring yourself a drink not really caring what is was. “Woah slow down there” an unfamiliar voice calls behind you. You turn around to see some guy you’ve never met. “I think I’ll be okay thanks” you say dryly as you turn back around not wanting anything to do with him.

“Cmon don’t be like that. I like that costume you look hot” You were clearly uncomfortable and he was visibly drunk. “Alright bye-“ you go to leave but he grabs your arm.

“Nah cmon stay with me I’ll show you a good time” he says slurring his words together.

You struggle to get out of his grip but end up kicking him in the balls muttering a ‘perv’. You grab your drink and chug it before going back into the living room. You see some of your friends from a few if your classes and start chatting and dancing with them.

You were actually having an alright time before yet another guy comes up to you and starts flirting. “What do you want stranger?” You ask in the most monotone voice you can muster. “Just wanna dance with you, baby.”

“Don’t call me that you fucking weirdo” you go to turn away and you make eye contact with Chad as you do so. He was dancing with Tara. The guy grabs your arm spinning you back around and tells you to ‘Stop being a bitch’. You try pulling your arm back yelling at him to let go of you.

Chad noticed your struggling and tells Tara he’ll be right back as he quickly goes towards you. You’re still fighting the guy and Chad quickly pushes the guy, causing him to stumble back.

“The fuck is your problem bro?”

“You’re my problem bro. Keep your fucking hands off them.” The guy scoffs and raises his hands in defeat while Chad murmurs a ‘lets go’. He gently grabs your hand and you guys go outside since it’s quieter than inside.

You guys both sit on the stone steps in silence before you decide to say something. “Why’d you do that?”

He gives you a confused look “What do you mean why’d I do that? You’re my best friend of course I was going to protect you.”

“I mean I guess I just don’t really understand why. You could’ve left me I can take care of myself.” you sound a little salty but don’t really care right now.

“Hey, what’s the matter with you? What did you have to drink?”

“It doesn’t matter why don’t you just go back to Tara?”

Then it all clicked for him.

how could he not know? You liked him and you were jealous. A smirk replaced his concerned expression.

“I see what’s happening”

“I’m sure you do Chad”

“You like me” He was so confident that he was right that he just flat out said it and you turned bright red.

“Whaaat are you talking about maybe you’re the one who had too much to drink”

He chuckles before continuing on “You don’t have to worry about Tara you know. I like you too, I think I have since like middle school or something.”

You were stunned. It wasn’t a joke was it? You don’t think he’d do that to you. He liked you? He liked you. Your eyes were so wide you were afraid they might pop out of your skull. “You have?” you say with your voice barely above a whisper. “I have. I just didn’t you felt the same.”

He had a bright smile adorning his face and you couldn’t help but form your own. “Can I kiss you?” He asks you in the same soft tone you had. “I’d be sad if you didn’t.” He laughs before you both lean in sharing a long awaited kiss.

“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do that.”

“Me too.”

You both sit there grinning like idiots.

“You don’t think they’ll miss us if we don’t come back to the party do you?”

“Nah they’ll be fine.”
