I’m finally watching FATWS and an ep and a half in this is very much a case of “I knew this was very, very likely not going to work for me and so far I am being proven right,” which is unfortunate though I guess I do still have four and a half episodes to be proven wrong, which would be great since I don’t actually like not liking things!

#I don't talk about this a lot because tbh it's not really come up but I actually don't like legacy heroes #so uh. this was always going to be a hard sell.#(and that's not just because steve's my fave -- this extends to kate-hawkeye and jane-thor #and is vaguely related to why kid loki doesn't work for me in the comics (though there's other stuff going on there)#it's ye olde identity issues again probably)#(not just a comics/supers thing either btw; it pops up at odd moments)#I get why it matters to people! I get why it's done! I really do #I have just never had a single case of a legacy hero work FOR ME #(unless I got introduced to them solo and didn't know they were a legacy until later)#(...fuck this means I'm probably going to bounce off ms marvel too and that's not even going into my Carol Issues)#anyway there are various things going on there #(CM making it so that fury named the avengers after carol made me fully crazy)#(this is also one of the reasons the rey skywalker thing makes me so viscerally uncomfortable)#(legacy hero here being 'hero with the same name/title' it just has NEVER worked for me)#(and is frankly one of the things that feels tender enough I don't want to poke it too closely even though I'm not sure where it's from)#(I don't even like it with the various spider-men though of all the legacy hero things itsv dealt with it best)#bedlam watches the mcu
