One thing that I adore about Sukuna and Hime’s bond was that from the minute these two met, this relationship was bound to end horribly. They were never supposed to have a good ending no matter how many times you try to look at it through different angles.

At first, it tricks you into thinking that they COULD have a hopeful future together if they evade the obstacles coming their way (ex: Junichiro, Suiten, the villagers, jujutsu society, etc.) so that they could be alone and finally be truly happy, making their own happy ending together.

But it just never happens.

The hard part to swallow here, is that it wasn’t even because of Junichiro that the pair wasn’t able to stay together and be meant for each other. It was Sukuna.

Bear with me here, let me explain.

Ever since I read the full backstory on Shisui back in the first book of “A Fish Out of Water”, I suspected that the relationship between Shisui and Sukuna seemed to act like a mirage.

I don’t know why, but it just struck me as fake no matter how many times I tried to reread the Shisui arc over and over again (I kept rereading to make sure I wasn’t actually overthinking).

Shisui was fine on her end. She acted like any good friend would do and was true to herself when she voluntarily stayed with Sukuna.

But that’s the problem. Unlike Shisui, Sukuna wasn’t acting like his true self.

And no, I’m not talking about the fact that he was being fake “sometimes” because he had his eating urges.

I’m talking about the fact that his humanity was never actually there to begin with.

We see his real self through some small glimpses LIKE the eating urges or when he had the sadistic idea to pour salt on his aunt’s soon-to-be lover when he was questioning him about the Uchiumi clan. Even the smallest things like stealing some snacks from some stands made him seem less sympathetic. His rude and uncaring demeanour wasn’t made up by the villagers’ cruel treatment to him. This guy just didn’t care from the start. Even when he was a kid, his aunt precisely stated that he wasn’t a normal kid. He learned quickly, he spoke correctly, he studied well and had control over his abilities which held a lot of potential for becoming a future jujutsu sorcerer. He did all of this when he was just a kid.

It always confused me how Shisui kept saying that Sukuna was kind-hearted and selfless, when he was none of those. None of his actions made him look like a possible good person but then again, this is Shisui we’re talking about. She speaks a lot with her heart and not with her head (like how she told him that she’ll still love him even if he was a curse).

So then, if Sukuna was never supposed to act like a real human despite being born as one, what made him act like one? Well that’s easy, it was because everyone around him was looking and acting like a human. (did u rly think I was gonna say Shisui??? omg that’s so cute-)

Shisui was the one who encouraged him to continue faking himself. That’s why his body was slightly physically different (ex: red hair, black claws, red eyes) but not too different to the point that he looked like a monster with four arms and eyes already. His body felt like it was stuck in the middle of his growth, not reaching his fullest potential but not being at his lowest either.

Ever since his birth, he was supposed to ascend and yet he didn’t because his growth got sidetracked by his aunt who tried showing him the rights and wrongs (basically taught him self-awareness and stuff that a parent should teach their child) of this world. Then, Shisui came and pushed that narrative of “showing sympathy and selflessness” in his agenda, slowing his growth process even more.

That’s why he still looked human enough back when he was a kid.

When he was older, that’s when things started to complicate for him. His body was sick of not receiving the food that he needed, so it began to retaliate and grow without his control (ex: the mouth that appeared on his stomach that one day). And after all that, Sukuna was still trying to keep it together. It was literally like dealing with a ticking time-bomb: you don’t know when it’ll set off but you just know that when it does, you better hide cuz that bitch will hurt.

That’s why Junichiro wasn’t the cause of Sukuna and Shisui’s downfall. He was only the one who discovered the bomb and underestimated it. Like a kid playing with a knife or a pair of scissors.

Sukuna secretly craves blood, fresh meat, and disorder. He doesn’t care about selflessness or caring. He only practises these two things with Shisui because “someone once said ‘If you love someone, you let them go.’”In the end, he was still pretending for the sake of pleasing Shisui, someone who has said she’ll love him unconditionally, someone who still wanted to be with him despite the fear and evil aura he emits around him, someone who has shown physical proof that he’ll still be loved without his human form when she started cooing at his stomach mouth, someone who he wants all for himself. He was acting like a selfless human because he thought that was what you were supposed to do.

Her death was the fire that set everything all up. Why keep pretending when the source of your pretending ceases to exist? Just let yourself go and grow up.

And that’s what Sukuna did. He literally grew up and reached his true form. There were no shackles or restraints anymore. He could do whatever he wanted without any restrictions or rules, HE was the one that ordered around.

He even said that he wished he would’ve ascended sooner in order to reach this form. (“WHO KNEW YOU WORTHLESS MEAT BAGS COULD TASTE SO GOOD?! I SHOULD’VE KILLED YOU ALL FROM THE START!”)

In the end, it didn’t even matter if Shisui had died on that day or not. He would have still eventually stopped himself from believing in his own crap and ascended. Because he secretly needed to AND wanted to.

When I finally read chapter 6 of Bloodflood and saw Hime distraught at the fact that she had truly lost Sukuna for good, I found it sad.

The old Sukuna would’ve understood her fears. He would’ve vowed to help set her free. He… he wouldn’t do this.

She finally got the message.

The Sukuna she loved was long gone.

When she died all those years ago, she had taken his heart with her.

Hime still does not understand that there was never even a sympathetic Sukuna to come back to. Sure, his human self is long gone, but it only grew to become an ascension. If Sukuna could do it all over again, he wouldn’t listen to her and try to set her free. Not at all. The thought wouldn’t even cross his mind.

Hime didn’t lose Sukuna. He’s right there still alive and breathing.

There never was a “selfless Sukuna”. It was all in Shisui’s head.

Her reaction felt like losing an imaginary friend.

I got another AU for ya!

Except this one started off as a quick thought made out of sheer angst so I needed to think about an AU for it to help me sleep at 2 am. (And this one will probably be just as long as the “No Curses” AU one so I’m just warning you in advance that I’ll be breaking my record for the longest ask you’ve ever read💀)

I HATE but LOVE the way Sukuna and Shisui’s past together has so many bumps and conflicts in the way SO LEMME ADD SOME MORE.

After more than five days of thinking how this would all plan out, here it is.

“What if Sukuna had come on time to save Shisui from Junichiro?”

So it goes a little something like this:

Sukuna comes in time to see Shisui crawling towards the river while having her legs mangled.

The sight was so gruesome and horrifying that it just made Sukuna snap in rage and once Junichiro gets down to catch up to Shisui, Sukuna proceeds to instantly eat Junichiro’s head alive right in front of her. The unexpected attack (aka killing) would leave Junichiro defenceless since he wouldn’t have expected Sukuna to have arrived so suddenly, which resulted in his death but not before he put a curse on Shisui as his last words when he was coming down to get her. (“Don’t you dare go! I’ll find you wherever you are!”)

Sukuna then pulls Shisui away from the edge of the river and heals her legs with reversed cursed energy. But no matter how much her physical state is now perfectly healed, Shisui pretty much got mentally scarred for life by everything that just happened.

Sukuna just holds her in his arms while they’re sitting on the ground together for a few hours so she can register it all. Even after hours passing by, she still looks completely scarred and can’t talk.

He brings her back to the Uchiumi clan, Sukuna explains the situation to her family and he then brings her up to her room. It was still around morning (close to noon) but Sukuna and Shisui didn’t bother going outside for the day anymore. Sukuna left Shisui’s room after tucking her in and overheard the family bickering and freaking out over the recent events that transpired just this morning (he only told them that Shisui broke the engagement which resulted in her almost dying because of Junichiro but he saved her on time by killing him. He didn’t tell them that he ate his head though). He couldn’t bother hearing them anymore because there were always problems getting thrown at him and Shisui anyway so why bother paying attention any longer?

He goes back to Shisui’s room and stays there with her, wordlessly “consoling” her by getting in her futon and tightly holding her in his arms. He told himself that starting from now on, he was going to be selfish and do what he wanted to do. Nothing will get in his way any longer.

He was this close to letting Junichiro ruin everything for him but he won’t make the same mistake twice. He’ll do and have what he wants no matter what. There won’t be any mercy anymore, only pain and suffering for anyone who dares to ruin his pleasures. He’ll be cocky about it too.

Sukuna can’t help but chuckle cruelly at his plans while having an emotionally vulnerable Shisui in his arms.

After a while of snuggling, he proposes (says) to Shisui to run away from this place, from everything here, everything they have ever known to find greater things elsewhere. Shisui takes a moment to stare at him in tears and thinks about it. She just can’t take anyone’s bullshit anymore.

Her father’s constant remarks and mistreatment towards Sukuna, her mother and the other wives just standing there not doing anything, the majority of her bothers just act like her father, Junichiro who had lied to her this whole time and tried pushing Sukuna away from her, jujutsu society rejecting her only real friend from becoming a sorcerer, and the peasants who keep on trying to hurt Sukuna. Why does everything and everyone have to hurt her and who she likes? She agrees to his “proposition” while quietly sobbing.

The day passes by but Sukuna and Shisui are secretly preparing what they need so that they can leave. Sukuna threatens the servants, who were tasked by Shisui to help them, in case they run to Suiten to tell on them.

Eventually, night falls.

Sukuna and Shisui make sure everyone is asleep (or at least check on them to see if they’re busy) in their private rooms before they make their escape by getting into the cart led by a horse which was filled with provisions and clothes.

They successfully make their departure, leaving everything behind them, their past and their once-called home.

Sukuna was the one driving the cart. He had Shisui next to him staring at nothing in particular while the horse was driving them away from it all.

Sukuna didn’t have any idea where they should be going but he just knew that as long as he and Shisui were together, he was more than satisfied.

He knew that the Uchiumi clan was bound to realize that Shisui disappeared with Sukuna and would stop at nothing to get her back. This was also a good excuse to keep on travelling and never stopping but it was more of a minor reason since Sukuna wasn’t the least bit afraid of them.

From the days that were passing by, they kept stopping by some fields and near rivers to rest.

Shisui was completely dazed out for most of the time. The only real reaction she’d feel was extreme fear if she was ever too far from Sukuna (which would be more than 20 feet away from him).

He loves how her attention is all over him now.

Since it was thanks to him that she was still alive, she felt like she owed him a lot, not to mention that he was also right about Junichiro. She knows she should be afraid of Sukuna after what he had done to Junichiro but she doesn’t care at this point. She was just grateful for being alive and it was all thanks to Sukuna.

Sukuna would take care of her and himself throughout the day. He’d protect her from curses and sorcerers alike, feed her, brush her hair, bathe her and himself (he’d usually stay in the hot springs or small rivers for a longer time with her since he needs to “scrub” her skin harder just in case “he misses some spots”), help her wear fresher clothes, and held her tightly close to him when they’d be sleeping.

Sukuna was just living his life right now. He’s got to admit that what happened to Shisui was the best thing that has ever happened to him. For once, his life was going HIS way and his way only. He was finally away from that forsaken village he used to call home, and he now had Shisui all to himself and her attention and time was finally all on him.

Sukuna didn’t have a location in mind, he just brought Shisui along on an endless journey. They wouldn’t be missing or be out of any essentials since Sukuna would be the one hunting for meat while Shisui would be the one taking care of collecting herbs while making sure Sukuna was close enough to her. Shisui would also be responsible for fixing up their clothes in case they had some stitches or holes in them.

Every time Sukuna hunts however, he always comes back with a lot of dead animals to put in the cart.

The first time he hunted for food and came back, a memory flashed in Shisui’s mind about the time Sukuna ate raw meat when they were kids. She also remembered that he was about to tell her about it back when they were near the river that one time Sukuna nearly got attacked by all the men in the village. But Shisui was far from caring how he ate as long as he was near her and Sukuna took advantage of that. He’d casually eat raw meat right in front of her while she ate it cooked and not even once did she bat an eye at how he ate the food.

Some months passed and Sukuna was content with everything in his life. He had freedom, he terrorized the people that he and Shisui were coming across, he ate whatever animal he hunted raw, and Shisui had all of her attention on him.

She was also very attentive and listened to Sukuna’s every word by making sure she was avoiding anyone else who wasn’t him, and keeping an eye out if some sorcerers were coming their way.

She was so obedient that she even willingly (and unquestionably) engaged in sexual acts with him (which was all the time 💀).

At some point however, Sukuna and Shisui meet a curse user by the name of Uraume. Sukuna was about to fight them, feeling like he’ll have some fun but Uraume quickly tells him that they didn’t come to fight and instead, want to serve him. Sukuna doesn’t know what they could possibly give him but Uraume proposes to serve him by cooking for him. They show him their skills and Sukuna takes a bite which is how they instantly got accepted by Sukuna.

Now, Sukuna and Shisui have a new member added to the group: Uraume.

This means that from now on, Uraume will be the one to take care of cooking as well as taking care of Sukuna and Shisui, meaning that Sukuna will just be hunting for food but won’t be cooking it since he’ll give that responsibility to Uraume.

Shisui pretty much tries to get along with Uraume but they mainly only ever interact with her if they have to since they’ve decided to specifically serve Sukuna. Because of the favoritism on Uraume’s part, Shisui couldn’t help but be jealous of the fact that Uraume wants to be by Sukuna’s side (not in THAT way ofc but it still doesn’t change the fact that they want to serve him because they idolize him).

Sukuna just chuckles at Shisui’s behaviour but doesn’t try to change anything.

He’s actually perfectly fine about Uraume’s fixation on him because he won’t have to kill them if they also fixate a lot on Shisui. As long as Uraume only takes care of him and Shisui when they have to, then the white-haired curse user will be fine. It’d be a real shame if he killed his chef after all.

After a year or so of travelling, Sukuna just decides to settle down in an abandoned grand shrine and orders Uraume to clean the whole place up. Shisui, on the other hand, will (obviously) tag along with Sukuna and he’ll walk around the whole place with her to see how the surroundings look.

Since he’s practically done everything he’s wanted while travelling, Sukuna will want to want more without Shisui’s presence for once. While she is sleeping, Sukuna heads to a village and destroys the whole place (devours humans, burns houses, and kills sorcerers and peasants alike). Sukuna has gone far longer in his destruction than normal and enjoyed every second of it that his body finally grew to its real and true form. After making sure nothing remained in the village, Sukuna went back to the shrine and waited until morning.

The sunrise eventually came and woke Shisui up from her slumber.

But when she noticed that Sukuna, who was simply watching her next to her, looked like he had grown two more eyes and arms overnight. Her mind had to process if what she was seeing was actually real. When she realized that she wasn’t dreaming, she immediately got up and seriously panicked, wanting to help him in any way she could and asking him every question in the book.

(“Sukuna, is that really you?!?!”, “H-How did you grow all these parts overnight?!!?”, “WHAT happened?!??”, “WHY ARE YOU SO HUGE?????” *Sukuna liked that last question more than he should*).

The old him wouldn’t have told her what happened but Sukuna didn’t give a shit anymore so he instead just boastfully told her of all his achievements. Shisui just stands there listening to him as he never stops talking but when he finally does (which would be after a long hour), Shisui just silently stares at him with a bewildered look before she rushes outside and vomits.

Shisui’s head is dizzy from the puking but also because she had finally fully processed the loads of information she just heard from Sukuna.

It felt like her entire world has once again shifted completely on its feet.

All the times she had ignored his way of eating during their trips finally dawned on Shisui that she should’ve had thought more about it. After all this time that she had known Sukuna, Shisui finally started considering the possibility of his hunger for flesh. Was he genuinely a curse? He looked like one when she woke up….Or maybe he was something else?

Sukuna’s just amused by all of this really.

Shisui doesn’t know how to act around him anymore and the more she stays with him, the more hellish things she’ll get to see when she’s with him.

Sukuna burns, destroys everything in his path, and eats villagers and sorcerers alike. What’s worse in all of this is that Shisui also gets to have the front row seat for all of it.

Honestly, she would have been far better off dead by Junichiro than staying alive and be with Sukuna. That was not the outcome she expected to happen at all.

The cycle of chaos and massacre was now such a reoccurring thing and a common factor in Shisui’s life that she just couldn’t take it anymore. Her tormentor was long gone by her dearest friend and now that same friend that she loved and respected her whole life was now the one causing her suffering whether he knew it or not. This has caused her to stop wanting to have him near her for any specific things/reasons but she never willingly told him her thoughts so she just tried to suck it up and let him near her.

At some point, she was on the brink of snapping.

He had just came back with loads of corpses from a village that was nearby the shrine again and that’s when she couldn’t take it anymore.

She willingly lost her life after that.

At night, when Sukuna wasn’t near her and had to be elsewhere, she took her own life while making sure Uraume wasn’t checking up on her every now and then.

When Sukuna came back and faced her corpse, he felt unimaginable immense pain, something he didn’t think he’d be able to feel again ever since he ascended. He unknowingly cursed her ("You can't leave me... I won't allow it!") and that’s how the cycle began.

Mizuhime meets Sukuna in the present time and the rest is history.

oh this is JUICY

i especially love how the worst day of shisui's life (jun trying to kill her) literally became the best day of SUKUNA'S life. like that is just so telling about what kind of person he is and just how selfish and fucked up he is.

yeah he was scared and worried for her, but the second her life was saved, that worry quickly turned into selfish glee cuz he finally got what HE wanted despite the price being shisui's mental state 💀

(you really really nailed sukuna's self-centered nature here btw 💖)

things would totally be different when they reunite compared to what happened in tsunami. in tsunami, sukuna was more worried about losing mizuhime to gojo again, but in this au he never lost her so he'd be less concerned about keeping her safe and more concerned with OWNING HER again. he'd probably be less soft at first because she killed herself as shisui and he's smart enough to know that she did it to get away from him 💀💀

Ever since I saw your ask on the mini series/one shots you were planning on making in the future, I saw one of them which suggested a potential one shot (or mini series) of a possible “No Curses AU”. I loved the idea so much that my mind just had to mess around and use my free time just to think of how the AU would look like in a world without curses. I swear, I didn’t have to waste my days like that for thinking about this idea so extensively and yet, here I am! This is just my own ideas on the AU and I thought I should share it with you since you were the one who inspired me to make my own “No Curses AU”.

So imagine this:

A “No Curses AU” where Yuji and Sukuna are twins (Sukuna’s the older brother). Their mother died during the birth process (I wonder how 👀) leaving their father and grandfather to take care of them until the father died not too long after from unaliving himself because of the tragedy of losing his wife. Ever since then, Yuji and Sukuna have been raised by their grandpa. Sukuna met Hime at night when they were both kids: he was taking a walk to get his mind off of things when he found Hime running away from some older drunk guys. She was annoying him so he beat up the drunk men and tried leaving but she stuck by him (Idk about u, but I’m getting some Sukuna and Shisui vibes from this 👀). She was all alone at night because she thought she could sneak away from her father when he’d be sleeping. Ever since then, Sukuna grew to like endure her staying by his side. (Hime’s parents are Sanyu and Susanoo in this btw). They used to go to the same school (with Yuji).

When the three of them turned 15, Yuji and Sukuna’s grandpa died in the hospital which left the twins a bit lost on where they should go right now (Yuji was saddened by their grandpa’s passing while Sukuna felt indifferent but did feel some kind of respect for the old man. Hime was there with the two to support them.)

Not long after that however, Hime decided to help the two twins into enrolling them to the new school she was going to be in: Tokyo Jujutsu High. After some pestering and begging from Susanoo, he begrudgingly recommended Yuji and Sukuna to the higher-ups to which they got accepted.

Now, they both attend Tokyo Jujutsu High where it’s a school for either elites, students that come from traditional old families, people with unique talents, people who worked hard to get there, or it’s either all of the above or one of them. As you can see, the system for enrolment is pretty unfair for some since others can simply be applied for being born in the right family while others have to work hard to get there. This creates discrimination and separates a lot of groups together.

Just like in the original universe, Jujutsu High is a place for the community and provides mediation, general support, education, and shelter. The buildings also visually are the same so nothing about the looks of the school has been altered. It’s location is also where it should be: it’s well hidden on Tokyo's outskirts, far and high in the mountains since it’s so exclusive.

The uniform system is the same as in the original universe as well: you can customize your uniform however you’d like by sending a request paper to the school, regarding them of how you’d like your uniform to look like for your satisfaction.

Tokyo Jujutsu High

The 1st year students are Megumi Fushiguro, Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, Junpei Yoshino, and Hana Kurusu.

Megumi Fushiguro has been enrolled for his ancestral traditional roots.

Yuji Itadori got enrolled for his physique and inhuman stamina. He might become a professional runner.

Nobara Kugisaki for working hard with her grades in the countryside.

Junpei Yoshino for being recommended by Yuji. He aims to become a movie critic.

Hana Kurusu for mastering some music instruments. She wants to be a professional musician or even a conductor someday.

The 2nd year students are Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, Yuta Okkotsu, Sukuna Itadori, Mizuhime Uchiumi, Panda, and Uraume.

Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, Mizuhime Uchiumi, and Yuta Okkotsu have been enrolled for their ancestral traditional roots and individual talents. (The ones between these four who got recognized for their talents were Maki for mastering weapons, and Mizuhime for her impeccable swimming.)

Sukuna has been enrolled for his immense strength and intelligence. His future is looking….quite interesting (so fucking dark omg what-)

Uraume has been enrolled for their excellent cooking skills. Naturally, they are aiming to become a five star chef.

Panda is actually an AI that took the form of a panda. He’s mostly seen on a movable average-sized screen. His appearance has been based off of one of Yaga’s dolls. He was made to learn more about the potential of artificial intelligence.

(I really didn’t wanna exclude Panda from this since he’s one of my favourites so I had to improvise lol. Also, Toge can’t speak in this au. He just interacts with writing on paper or uses sign language for people like Megumi who know how to understand it.)

The 3rd year students are Kinji Hakari, Kirara Hoshi, Hajime Kashimo, Choso, Haruta Shigemo, and Yorozu.

Kinji Hakari got enrolled for his talent in dancing. He’ll be a professional dancer.

Kirara Hoshi got enrolled for being an amazing fashion designer and stylist.

Hajime Kashimo and Choso have been enrolled for their ancestral traditional roots.

Haruta Shigemo has been enrolled for….being lucky.

Yorozu has been enrolled for her intelligence (albeit a very stubborn one) and her immense knowledge for insects and how she plans on using them for the future.

(She’s a nudist but the school strictly, and understandably, doesn’t allow her to be naked so she’s forced to wear the basic jjk uniform *the same one Nobara wears*. She only wears the white shirt and skirt though. She won’t allow anything else. Yes, that means she walks around barefoot even during winter 💀.)

Since the students have different talents and projects they’d like to engage in, the school has teachers who help them sharpen up their skills in order to use what they have for the future.

All of the teachers have been hand selected by the higher-ups above Yaga (which is why the teachers are all past students but Yaga doesn’t complain about that. It leaves him less trouble to explain how the school works compared to if the higher-ups did in fact hire teachers who have never been students here before lol).

Some students, depending on what they’re good at, have managers to help them deal with what they’d like to do for the future. The student can choose the manager they’d like since they’ll stick with them for their whole school years.

(*the managers used to be students who learned how to specifically become managers for other future students*)

The principal for Tokyo Jujutsu High is Masamichi Yaga (passionate doll and puppet maker).

The teachers for Tokyo Jujutsu High are:

Satoru Gojo (professional model) teaches the 1st year students.

Atsuya Kusakabe (detective) teaches the 2nd year students.

Nanami Kento (business man) teaches the 3rd year students.

Kiyotaka Ijichi (manager)

Akari Nitta (manager)

Yu Haibara (manager)

Takuma Ino (side manager)

Remi got enrolled for her beauty model pictures she took. She’s learning to become an influencer.

Iori Hazenoki got enrolled for boxing. He aims to become a professional boxer in a ring.

The 2nd year students are Mai Zenin, Kokichi Muta, Kasumi Miwa, Noritoshi Kamo, Aoi Todo, and Momo Nishimiya.

Mai Zenin, and Noritoshi Kamo have been enrolled for their ancestral traditional roots.

Kokichi Muta has been enrolled for his robotic engineering.

Aoi Todo has been enrolled for his workouts and trainings.

Momo Nishimiya and Kasumi Miwa have….worked A LOT to get here.

The 3rd year students are Naoya Zenin, Takako Uro, Ryu Ishigori, and Charles Bernard.

Naoya Zenin has been enrolled for his ancestral traditional roots.

Takako Uro has been enrolled for modelling. She has the looks and body for it.

Ryu Ishigori has been enrolled for his sweet tongue and aims to become a professional taster.

Charles Bernard has been enrolled for his art. He’s aiming to become a mangaka.

The principal for Kyoto Jujutsu High is Yoshinobu Gakuganji (perfects in electric guitar music).

The teachers for Kyoto Jujutsu High are:

Mei Mei (freelancer) teaches the 1st year students.

Utahime Iori (song and poetry writer) teaches the 2nd year students.

Yuki Tsukumo (explorer) teaches the 3rd year students.

As for the relationships in this au, GOD DAMN THERE’S SO MUCH DRAMA-

For one, Sukuna and Yuji DO NOT get along with each other. Since they’re twins and all, people generally assume that they get along very well, when in reality they can’t stand one another. While Yuji has great friends like Megumi, Nobara, Junpei, Hana, and the rest of the 2nd year students, Sukuna doesn’t have any friends and is perfectly satisfied without the need to have some. The only one who he usually hangs around or becomes chattier than usual with is with Hime. Mizuhime is Sukuna’s childhood (and only) friend (who he also somehow convinced after junior school that they should be ‘friends with benefits’ to which Hime surprisingly agreed). She’s the only exception and Sukuna plans on keeping it like that forever. When she’s around other students, Sukuna just boredly entertains himself to pass the time or just listens from one ear to what Hime’s talking about with the others. He also only talks to other people if he has to or if he’s looking to get something from them. Another exception to his private circle, is Uraume. They are exceptional at cooking so Sukuna usually keeps them around even when Hime’s there. Uraume doesn’t mind cooking for Sukuna when they want to since they admire the guy. In short, Yuji’s friend group consists of the 1st year students and the 2nd year students, while Sukuna’s “friend” group consists of Hime and Uraume.

Of course, just like Tsunami and Bloodflood, the yandere circle does not change so Hime will STILL have a hard time dealing with the suitors even if this is a “No Curses AU” since they’ll all attend her school 💀

Except that there are some additional relationships here and there:

1. Hana is into Megumi but Megumi is into Yuji and Hime.

2. Sukuna and Yuta are into Hime but they’re both in the same class (rip Hime….)

3. Yorozu is into Sukuna but Sukuna is into Hime.

4. Yuji has a secret crush on Hime but Sukuna is aware of it. He loves to hurt him by having some fun with Hime since she and him are “friends with benefits” now. (But as much as Sukuna keeps saying that about his and Hime’s relationship, he actually does have deep feelings regarding her and doesn’t just see their relationship as a way to mess around.)

5. Uraume deeply respects Sukuna but often wonders why he likes having Hime around.

6. Gojo is into Hime and Geto (Geto quit any connection to the school) but since Geto isn’t in the school with him anymore and doesn’t teach like him, Gojo gets to see Hime more 💀

7. Choso and Hajime are into Hime but they’re both in the same class…. (rip Choso 😭)

MY FAVORITE PART IS THAT THERE SOME PARALLELS BETWEEN THIS AU AND THE ORIGINAL. mizuhime running away from a creep and meeting sukuna that way = shisui running away from a tiny cursed spirit and falling face first in front of sukuna 😂

your entire au gives me such kdrama vibes, idk how to put it. it lowkey reminds me of boys over flowers with poor girl (sukuna) getting sent to an extremely elite school cuz she helped out a rich kid (mizuhime). the clear divide between the school elites and the ones who got into the school through hard work alone.... every time i think of a no curse AU, i ALWAYS imagine sukuna as the poor dude, rags to richest guy 😂 like, he starts out poor and looked down on but through sheer grit (and violence) he climbs up until HE'S at the top of the hierarchy and you've covered that perfectly 😩👌

(¡esto es un caso de un fic real! Con un fic de Teen Wolf donde una omega odiaba la idea de ser omega y quería ser alfa y despreciaba a los omegas por sus prejuicios)

Cuando estas escribiendo no nos sentamos y pensamos: "Oh, ¿Cómo puedo usar mi escritura para promover todos los pensamientos que apoyo pero tal vez no deseo escribir o no conozco lo suficiente para escribir :D?"

Simplemente nos sentamos y escribimos como mejor nos parezca, sea bueno o malo, primero debemos de escribir cosas que deseamos leer y luego corregimos para que la historia tenga un mínimo sentido.

Por supuesto, podemos escribir con la idea de promover cierto tipo de personajes para demostrar que estos suelen salir de los prejuicios que les suelen imponer (la hermosísima Ellen Woods, Theo Putnam, mommy Sophia Burset o POSE de HBO)

¡Pero! eso no significa que los personajes de esas comunidades tienen que pertenecer a "soy tan bueno, fuerte e independiente que no necesito de tu aprobación 🥺"

Son personas y como todas las personas pueden ser buenas o malas, fuertes o débiles, inteligentes o tontas o necesitar apoyo sin que eso hable de un prejuicio en la mente del autor sobre esa comunidad.

Si un hombre cis puede ser el malo sin cualidades redentoras entonces un hombre trans lo puede ser

Si una mujer blanca puede ser una mujer que solo quiere vivir cómodamente mientras su marido la mantiene entonces una mujer o un hombre de cualquier etnia/sexualidad/raza/religión lo puede ser también

O, pueden ir al contrario de estas ideas ¡y todos son personajes validos! Santificarlos solo elimina el hecho de que son humanos

if their character is from any marginalized group (a woman/girl, poc, lgbtq, poor, etc), they gotta make a squeaky clean image of them as if they gotta prove to their readers "yes my character MAY be a woman/gay/poc/etc but they're different than the other ones! see, they're better!!!!"

like for the female characters thing i mentioned before. it's as if they're thinking "women are seen as meek and inferior so i MUST make my female character as masculine as possible so i don't set feminism back!!!! no makeup, no skirts/dresses, no pink, no kindness because they're a naturally beautiful STRONG WOMAN who BEATS PEOPLE UP!" and they end up demonizing feminine characters and other male characters to make their mc seem oh so strong 💀

for lgbtq+, homophobes often demonize them as "dirty and too sexual, not safe for kids!" so people who write lgbtq+ books tend to make their queer stories super bland and lame with the most boring plots ever to prove to people "hey look at my book! it's about a gay couple BUT they're actually very pure! they only hold hands! maybe a smooch or two! none of that icky stuff!! see, we're pure!!!"

thankfully i don't see that as much with mlm stuff anymore, but there's a lot of discourse over how wlw fans tend to harass fanfic authors for writing "impure" wlw fics 💀 even the fans who demand toxic yuri bully and dox writers and artists for making toxic yuri content that's "too toxic" (apparently their idea of "toxic" is an argument with a few raised voices and... not actually real toxic stuff 💀)

some of these people are only making their sanitizing their words to avoid getting harassed, which is understandable because people are INSANELY RUDE to fanfic authors nowadays (and fan artists too!!!).

but other ppl do this cuz they've got some internalized issues that bleed out into their works which is also unfortunate

i honestly missed the days where everyone just made whatever fan content they wanted and nobody ever fucking bullied them off the internet or DOXXED THEM. ppl can't even fucking ship in peace omg 😔
