Hope Has No Relationship With Roman
Hope does not like Roman. She had a crush on him once of course, and she absolutely got SATISFACTION out of torturing him after Hayley was killed, however, she felt closer to her mother than ever when she allowed him to live. He made a mistake that cost her something very dear to her, but it was her mistake too. She allowed her crush to interfere with the signs of seeing what he had done--what he was doing. He was working to do something for his mother because of Greta's hatred, and it wasn't by his direct hand that Hayley was killed. More than that, Hope knew that Hayley would not approve of her killing Roman. No matter how horrible she felt inside, killing Roman wasn't going to help.
I don't recognize her and Roman being as friendly as they were in Legacies when he was brought in for relationship drama. He is still the first boy she ever kissed or confided in, but he betrayed her. She does not trust him. She doesn't even like him, but she is cordial with him when she has to be. Hope let him live because it was the right thing to do, but like she told Landon in that motel room, she will always think of him as the boy that had a hand in the death of her mother. He is not her friend, but he is not her direct enemy either, and honestly? She doesn't like to have him anywhere close to her, especially after having two years after she tortured him, to wrap her head around the entire situation in the first place.
The comfort that he gave her after she killed that man in the church (when she thought that she killed Declan), was what she had needed in the moment that it happened, but it doesn't make up for everything that happened prior. It's a complicated 'relationship', but not complicated enough that it would cause that kind of relationship drama with those around her. He may be absolved of her initial hatred of him, but she could absolutely live without him.

Hope Creates Her Own Spells
She learned this first and foremost from Freya, who also did that sometimes in her spare time. Hope has found that her connection to magic allows her to have a special bond with magic and because of that, she feels more at home with her own spells than with the spells she has been taught. That doesn't mean she doesn't use spells that all witches learn, but she does tweak them a bit sometimes, either to make them stronger, or make them last longer, etc. Being a witch is a third of who she is, and she'll be damned if she abandons that part of herself. Being a Tribrid is a balancing act, but she's willing to do it.

Hope Clings to Her Werewolf Part
I've said it a million times, but my Hope is an Originals!Based Hope Mikaelson and that means that there is a lot more werewolf stuff referred to here. A lot more mentions of the Crescents. She still feels the most guilt over Henry and everything that happened there between the factions. Now, some of that is because sometimes I pretend that Hayley and Klaus didn't die and they got rid of the Hollow in a way closer to how the Hollow was supposed to be defeated before she stole the blood she needed to get to Hope in the first place, but part of it is because I hate the wolf erasure in the TVDU. I hate how the wolves are treated.
I know that Phoebe bought the rights to Hayley, which is why they weren't allowed to show her, and why they barely mentioned her after her death, but I don't comply with this. This is RP. Hayley is one of the biggest people in Hope's life, and she was a much more present parent than Klaus was. That isn't at all diminishing Klaus' place in Hope's life, but I cannot in good conscience change Hope's family dynamic just because Legacies did. So, if Hope mentions her family a lot more in threads we do, or doesn't act like the school is her home over all places, that is why: because her family is her home. New Orleans is her home. Anywhere with Landon is her home. I'm not going to change my Hope just to be 'closer to the show', and I mainly wanted to post this because I've had a couple of asks wondering why I care so much...because Hope is important to me.
I have invested a lot into her, and my version of Hope does not have to make YOU happy. All that matters is how I want to portray her and I'm too old to fight about it anymore. If you want a cookie cutter Hope Mikaelson that fits for you, then either play her yourself or find someone that will change her for you. I will not be doing that. This is MY safe space, and I will be doing what I want. <3 So, let me and my little Crescent do our thing.

Hope’s Stranger Things verse is definitely one of my favorites because I don’t have to play Hope as an all-powerful cosmic mistake, I get to play her as an unstable teen with kinetic energy powers, who stayed out of the experiments program through sheer dumb luck and her parents protecting the shit out of her...that being said:
Hope has kinetic powers, meaning she can shove people back, make forcefields, etc.
She has been aware of them since she was a little girl.
Hope keeps her head down in Hawkins and focuses on her painting.
Like all the other kids with powers, she can feel the energy of the Upside Down and the other kids using their powers.
She avoids using her powers at all costs but is not fully in control of them.
She isn’t as powerful as El, so she can’t just make gates.
She isn’t a “nerd” per say, but she is finding that she absolutely enjoys “nerd things” that she’s being exposed to.
Her parents happily co-parent and she goes back and forth between Hayley and Jackson’s house, and Klaus and Camille’s house. (This is verse dependent, as I love the idea also, of Hayley and Klaus being together, but maybe also not married, and the neighborhood gossip of that.)

Sorry to scream about it on main, but here we accept the Phoenix-God mythology, and agree that when the flames burnt out Malivore, the Phoenix re-awakened and when the Gods showed up and found Landon they were like, “Holy shit a Phoenix is still alive?!?” and I’ll die on this hill. Landon being a God was a great twist, but it should have always been the Phoenix, and never should have been the Ferryman. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk... <3

Season 4? I don’t know her.
I figure this should be a general PSA as well, but I have a bit to say as far as what my post!Season 3 Legacies headcanons are, since I pretend that like 90% of Season 4 didn’t happen. Even the writers have admitted since that they had to slap an ending on at the last minute and honestly, none of us or the characters deserved that rushed ending or the absolute lack of character development that we got. I’m not here to argue it, or debate it, but because of it, if there’s a specific Season 4 plot that you would like to RP, here are some headcanons I have for how I will be rolling with Season 4.
First of all, Hope absolutely tried to come up with a million different ways to kill Malivore WITHOUT KILLING LANDON. I cannot stress this enough, because my girl would not turn on a dime, in one episode. I felt absolutely stabbed in the back watching her just be like, “He’d understand, right Raf? You’d understand, right?” While absolutely not trying anywhere near enough to save Landon first. All that after having a huge speech about not abandoning him. Screw the school. Screw her friends. Hope has always put her family first and Landon was in canon, as high as her family as far as she was concerned, she even said it. It’s one of her flaws, but you can be damn sure I RP her flaws and all, and she isn’t going to be the one to kill Landon if she doesn’t have to.
Becoming the Tribrid would absolutely be because of losing more people. I agreed with that, but because of them not having Riley or Claire as much as they wanted, you think Freya would leave Hope before she woke up? NO. Do you think they wouldn’t wait for Rebekah? NO. Rebekah was there, and Freya had to be incapacitated, for Hope to be brought to Malivore. Those are her second mothers, thank you, and we’re not doing this Tribrid thing without them.
Hope was forced to kill Landon. Obviously a given, but they rushed all of the last Season and she absolutely wouldn’t have just turned on a dime and done him in. Not unless she was absolutely pushed to do it, and having to do it, she absolutely turned her Humanity off. We can absolutely do that, but this is about where the similarities with Season Four completely end and I follow exactly two diversions and that’s it.
Season Four left Landon in Limbo and killed the Phoenix for good for fan service. They knew the show was in limbo, they were trying to get views up, and it suffered for it. Hope would never abandon Landon in Limbo. She’d do everything in her power to get him out and as far as I’m concerned? SHE DID. Hope exhausted every option and eventually, Landon got himself out. This is storyline option one, and ends with Hope and Landon leaving the school, be it together or not together, and him back to being the Phoenix, or Hell, still being the new Ferryman (with his soul freaking intact thank you), and being able to leave as he pleases with his new God powers. So, if you wanna RP with a corrected Limbo plot, I am willing to do it only under the above circumstances.
Now, with other Landon’s, you guys have your own things and we can plot if we wanna throw something together, but as far as I’m concerned, the world that I default to for Hope in all things unless you specifically ask for Limbo to be part of things, is the same world that @mudbirthed and I toyed with when we were first upset about how the season was going. That is, where the Phoenix is a God (because hello show you brought in mythology so how about using what you already had), and when Hope was forced to kill him when Malivore was inside of him, the Phoenix fire that was originally dormant again thanks to the Necromancer messing with him, was ignited by her blood, burned out Malivore, and then eventually brought Landon back to life as the Phoenix, and he was then an important cog in the wheel of fighting the Gods (which are also on a case by case basis because I like it since we had Gods already like the cupid episode anyone, but I also just eh too...). That being said, he didn’t come back to life immediately, Hope still had a no humanity stint, but once Landon was back, he helped her family to get her to turn her humanity back on. No shortcuts, no rushed anything, and then together, they had to figure out the rest.
I like including the Gods because I like Phoenix God lore, but I’m also okay with the Phoenix just being the Phoenix and there not being any Gods. Whatever works for our threads, but I default to the Gods because we had two of them already, if not three, in earlier seasons, so they did not come out of nowhere. Gods were even hinted at in Originals and The Vampire Diaries, and the books had angels and demons. So, I’m cool with them, but I’m also cool omitting them.
Also, speaking of Landon tweaks, we need to talk about Lizzie. I am okay with Hope still turning Lizzie, being a dick to her, etc., and I love Lizzie fighting back because she didn’t deserve all of that, but that all should be discussed BEFOREHAND with Lizzie’s that have specific things in mind. We’re here to fix canon, not just follow it blindly, so we can always come up with something together.

Hope has an “evolved psychic connection”.
Ever since she was a child, Hope has been able to hear whispers that no one else can, draw evil before it shows itself, and even have prophetic dreams. It came to a head for her when the HOLLOW threatened her and her mother (since she and Hayley are directly related to the Hollow through Crescent blood), when she realized she could also talk to the ancestors. Her connection to the magic around her, is a big part of why she was prophesized to unite the factions.
Because she hears whispers a lot, Hope is a fan of meditation, and being on her own. She was already the child that preferred to be by herself because of the BULLYING she received in school, but when she’s alone, she is more able to concentrate. This connection that she has to the world around her, however, does help her as well when she’s fighting. Be it monsters, or members of the factions that attack her first, knowing what might be coming next, or what lies in wait for her is a way to get the upper hand on the enemy.
Hope has always thought that a part of her ability spawns from the Hollow, but part of it is also from being a Mikaelson witch. Freya was a firstborn Mikaelson witch and was also in tune with the chatters of the deceased and other magical beings. Hope feels like the bond between them of her ALSO being a firstborn Mikaelson witch, helps to strengthen her connection to the magic in the universe. It’s something, she feels only Freya can actually help her to control and use for the greater good.

Hope is literally so afraid of her humanity coming back on and her having to feel having to kill Landon and Lizzie and all of that...that even no humanity!Hope would rather die. That’s so important to remember.

Okay, but hear me out: Hope at her core, even without her humanity on, has been used so much in her life, that she cannot fathom not being needed. What Alaric said, absolutely hurt her, but she NEEDED to hear it. She needed to not be the one to solve this problem. Why? Because maybe that can open the door to them NOT using her as a weapon anymore--open the door to her being able to actually have a life outside of monsters and all that. She doesn’t know who she is if she isn’t the secret weapon, but she needs to learn. Will the show actually do that for us? Probably not, but the potential is there...
