   Judith tipped her head to the side, hands folded over a small stack of files that rested on her laptop. “I get the files from your people so if anyone shouldn’t know somethin it’s me.” She raised an eyebrow as she stood up from her desk. “By the way most people start a conversation with someone they don’t know with at least an introduction before jumping into accusations. I’ll even start. Hi I’m Judith Grimes, daughter of the Sheriff’s Deputy you’re working with, what can I help you with?”

   “Hey kid long time no see.” Judith didn’t look up when she felt Riley in the room with her. “Oh I found these by the way...” Judith pointed over to the series of small toys and trinkets from around her room that were in a pile on her bed when she had gone to lay down. “This one in particular,” she pointed to the jagged amethyst that had once been on her window ledge, “hurt like a bitch, it got me in the cheek.” She laughed.

   “Riley it’s not that bad!” Judith laughed as she pulled her sister along the hall of the art gallery that she had dragged her sister to. “Besides I told you that once we see the new exhibit I’d take you to do anything you want to do.” She paused in front of one of her favourite paintings (admittedly this was the third time she’d been to the new exhibit). “I’ll also buy you whatever you want from the gift shop.” She countered, turning her focus to the painting in front of them. 

   “But doesn’t this make you want to travel? I mean c’mon Riley it’s Paris!” She bounced on her toes, her smile widening.

After her family had moved her into her dorm room for university, Judith had kept Riley behind a minute to say goodbye, handing her a small book of her sketches and paintings either of the two of them, or just of Riley with a yellow sticky note taped to the top.
