Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I’d rather go and slam my head into a wall rather than listen to whatever else you have to say,”

       “And that’s great for you, truly, but I don’t remember asking for your life story,” Silas waves away her comment like he’s swatting at an irritable fly. “Besides, this isn’t pacifism, it’s simply-” he searches for the right word. “Attempting to be a little bit of a hero.” He shudders slightly at the thought. “You see, I’m trying this whole ‘being a good person thing’, exploring some different personality options and whatnot. After all, I need to make up for all of the lost time. Can’t say that it’s very fun, though. You don’t even receive a thank you these days. Where’s the gratitude, the adoring crowds?” A shake of the head. “I mean, what’s the point of being a good guy if you don’t get doting fans?”

       “Is this about to turn into one of those ‘someone lectures and the other person pretends to listen’ kinda deals?” He raised a brow. Drama was so much more fun when he wasn’t explicitly involved in it. Patience levels were running on less than zero, and the last thing he needed, no, wanted, was a heart to heart. “Because I’ve already thought of a hundred different ways to leave here with style and avoid that exact scenario.”
