I just discovered this gem from 1998 & felt the need to share it—I hadn’t heard too many other instances of Kamiya using a more natural-sounding girl’s voice, so this was fun to hear!
Rough translation under the cut. If you catch any errors, please let me know!
Machiko: Okay! This segment is always done with our female guests.
Hiroko: Is that so?
M: Today, our guest is Hiroko-chan!
H-ko: Yup, understood!
M: Okay, Hiroko-chan, for this segment, we’ll be reading listener letters.
H-ko: Okay!
M: You’ll be answering the questions too.
H-ko: Got it.
M: Today’s letter is from ___. “Machi-rin, Kamiya Hiroko-chan, good evening!”
H-ko & M: Good evening!
M: “Why do girls like to gossip? Please tell me, Machi-rin!”
HiroC (normal voice): Why?
M: Oh my gosh, Hiroko-chan! Are you okay? Did you catch a cold?
HiroC: It’s too much! It’s tiring me!
M: What happened? So sudden. Come back, Hiroko-chan!
H-ko: I’m back~
M: Hiroko-chan, you scared me! Did you catch a cold?
H-ko: No, I didn’t.
M: Hiroko-chan, do you like gossip?
H-ko: No, not at all.
M: Why not?
H-ko: Hmm, well…
M: [laughs] I quite enjoy it.
H-ko: Really? I’d have to say I don’t really like when people gossip.
M: But there is a lot of gossip about you, Hiroko-chan!
HiroC: [laughing] Watch it, or else!
